Moses from a burning yet not burnt up bush, must come to the people with a word to the people,
a word from I Am, the word of His own faithfulness to His promise to be, forever, the God of the chosen sons of Abraham
The word of I Am would be Israel’s salvation and their hope, and, in this, the glorification of God’s own name.
At another time in their future the prophet would speak a word to the people calling them to return to God, promising them deliverance from another place, Babylon, so that he could say
You shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace…(Isaiah 55: 12)
This deliverance, too, would be because of the word of the faithful God, a word that
would not return to him void, but which would accomplish whatever He pleased (Isaiah 55: 11)
In the fulness of time God speaks incarnationally. The word takes on flesh. It is I Am’s eternal word, His Son.
This word is God’s powerful, righteous, loving speech to save His chosen people.
Softer than FOX, truer than CNN, wiser than any tweet, sin-chain destroying, law’s condemnation undoing, virus-fears, all fears, even fear of death allaying…the Jesus word!
God has spoken. The God Who is still speaks—above the noise, and into our hearts. In Jesus the Christ we behold and hear the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Well said, this word, no? Wonderfully spoken, yes! So that you, beloved, New Testament believing children of Abraham shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace!
