I have recently had the opportunity to meet with 6 different friends I have had at each stage of my life. There is something about the holidays that reconnects us to people from the past. There was someone from elementary school, high school, pharmacy school, and my residency. I didn't get pictures with everyone, but there are a few posted in my albums. The cover page picture is of Shanna and I when I lived in Kansas. She was out here on business, so we connected for the second time in 20 years. It's amazing how many memories we still have of those days...so much time has past and yet, there is so much of us that remains the same. I am so glad that we have been able to keep in contact over the years. I'm still very glad to know her.

I think I have finally recovered from the Third Day/David Crowder Band concert last night. I ordered tickets the moment they went for presale...I think it was some time in December. The anticipation for this concert started from the moment we heard they were coming back in October. We got Gold Section seating, but the seating within the sections were general seating. I knew I had to get there early for good seats, so I just scheduled myself off and planned to get there early. After a good breakfast, I made my way there and arrived at 9:30. I was happy to hear that I was the first one there. I don't mind waiting in line by myself. I like to be alone sometimes to read, listen to music, walk around, and just relax. There was a nice man from the church who would check up on me from time to time. The next person in line arrived at 11:45. I lost track of time after that, so I'm not sure when everyone else came. It was a nice crowd. It seemed like we were all connected to each other in some way. Well we are all part of God's family, but it's amazing how interwoven our lives were without ever really knowing each other. Time flew by. Before I knew it, I had been waiting for 8 hours, and the doors were about to open. The wait paid off. I got front row seats for my group. I was told to get seats on the left side of center to have prime seating in front of Brad (who has very distinct facial expressions while he is playing the guitar) and Mac (the lead singer).

The concert started off with David Crowder...he is such a character. He is one of a kind and just hilarious in every way. There are pictures of him with his high tech Keytar that he bought off Ebay. Somehow I doubt any moment with him would be boring. When we were at Spirit West Coast, we walked right past him when he was in a golf cart. It was so tempting to just reach out and touch his "Crowder"...goatee. He likes to have a lot of crowd involvement...emphasizing volume over pitch.

Third Day was awesome. It's very different being in the front row. We got some great pictures. There is a lot more interaction that you pick up on. We're not sure, but we think that Tai (the bassist) was asking my friend up on stage. But yeah, that would be really scary...it was a smaller venue, but they still seat 3,000. I wish we would have jumped for more songs, but after waiting out in the cold for 8 hours, I was a little out of it. They were even asking for requests, and I went totally blank on the song that I wanted to hear that I knew wasn't on their setlist..."Love song"...that is such a powerful song. The show seemed to just fly by. It's always sad when it ends...we could have gone all night. The guys hung around for a little bit. I shook Mac's hand (Gene got a picture). They are on a VERY tight touring schedule, so I didn't think that they would do a meet and greet. The night before they were in San Jose, tonight they are in LA, and they have another concert the day after that...that's just crazy. I don't know how they do it. I always like the little "acoustic" sets. They did a song with David Crowder. "Thief" was very powerful...and a song I didn't like at first really touched me at the concert..."Cry out to Jesus". I like the hymns that he worked into the concert. I love hearing the crowd sing in unison. There is something about corporate worship that is so uplifting.

It's been a long time since I have updated this site. We have been very busy, but at the same time, not much has happened. My cousin, Dan, and his family came out for a visit during Easter weekend. That was really special. It was good to see...
