The dictionary defines "values" as something that is important to us in life, something that we deem worthwhile in our lives. Personally there are a number of things that I value highly, such as my relationship with Jesus, my marriage, my family, my church, and many other things. But how do we boil that down for a church? I think it comes down to what is most important to the body of believers and I believe the following three things sum that up for New Song quite well.

1. Christ Centered - To be Christ Centered comes from Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This means that Jesus is at the center of all we do. Whether it is our Sunday service, mid-week study, meeting for dinner, going to work, loving our families, whatever we do, we try to have Jesus at the center of it all. We will not always do this perfectly, but as the Holy Spirit and the Word of God guide and empower us, we will always try.​

2. Gospel Sharing - In Matthew 28:18-20 we are told "And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We, as followers of Christ, are part of this call, we are all meant to share the gospel as individuals, and as a church. This is why we support mission efforts both locally, nationally, and internationally. Charles Spurgeon said, "Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter." We want the love of Jesus spread to anyone and everyone and we as a church, empowered by God's Spirit work to that end.

3. Community - The early church showed us what it meant to be a community. Acts 2:42-47 reveals a church that was dedicated to God's Word, to Prayer, to Worship, to Service, and to Caring for one another. This is what we want to be, a community that is in love with Jesus, in love with sharing Him with others, and a loving community where we care for one another. Our motto is that we are "Believers in Christ coming together to Work, Worship, and Fellowship." We focus on Jesus as believers in Christ and we work to share the gospel, worship our Savior, and be a community in fellowship with one another.
