Great Sermon! Wow this is exactly what I have been noticing and been so burdened about that is happening to current North American Christianity and it's about time someone stood up with the truth! I also believe we have been guilty of giving people false assurance just because they "said a prayer" when only the Spirit of God can truly witness within someone to tell them they are saved and then their lives should prove it. In my youth I also was guilty of giving out false assurance to those I tried to lead to Chrisr. However in recent years I have tried to challenge some dear ones I love on their profession of faith in Jesus yet they are continuing to live an overtly sinful lifestyle, reject the authority of the Bible and spiritual leadership, neglect fellowship, excuse sin or hold bitterness toward their brothers or sisters in Christ and bear the fruit of a selfish life. Yet family are consoling themselves saying "Well atleast we know he is saved because he prayed a prayer when he was nine and claims he still believes." Then where is the fruit of repentance and a continuously sanctified life? The few times I tried to speak this truth in love I was chewed to bits by the carnal ones and scolded by family for not having faith in their salvation and being judgemental etc. So i have gotten cowardly
Good study. Good study about Baptist views in 17th Century on the gifts of the Spirit as illustrated in their Confessions of Faith. And Hanserd Knollys' controvercy with the "Seekers" on this subject.
Amen! Praise the Lord! I thank the Lord for you, Pastor Goad! Very nice! I listened to Blake White for a few minutes, and then wondered if you had any sermons on Sermon Audio--and sure enough. Cool, now I can listen to yours sometimes. Thanks!
A Parents Hope In going to forward this sermon to my brother I realized that my 11 year old son had posted a public comment after listening to the sermon. Things as such are of great hope for a parent. Thank you Paul for allowing God to use you as a mighty vessel of biblical truth.
Great Sermon! This was a wonderful sermon filled with the truth of God's Word, it genuinely touched my stone-cold heart..if you are pleading & seeking to draw near to God, listen to this sermon. Thank you bro paul, your faithfulness to our God has been and is a very real blessing..
Builder of the church. Presentation of Dagg's life and his views on the church - affirmation of Baptist's doctrines. Good the presentation of his arguments with the Landmark Baptists. I like his attitude toward other Reformed Christians - we must be in fellowship here!
Great Sermon! All our churches need preaching this powerful this is the TRUE Gospel not the man centered gospel that has blinded millions. OH listen to me man centered preachers you will be held accountable to a Holy and Righteous GOD on the day of judgement. I thank GOD for men like Paul Washer who speak the truth of GODS Word.
Great Sermon! This is the most logical explanation of the gospel, and is the true gospel. Thank you so much Paul Washer, you will never even know how much God has shown his glory through you to me. Thank You.
Challenging and convicting sermon I have been very convicted by this sermon. Why can't more preachers get real, and tell the truth. Truly Father God is not that jolly, old man in the sky as most of us treat Him. Thank you Paul Washer, and God bless you.
