Troubling con't What is also troubling is when we either minimize or ignore the large clay feet/the sin issue in a person's life (life Martin Luther's anti-Jews sentiment, or certain people's -- black, white, or otherwise -- ancestral pride).
As to the brother whose chest seems to be puffed out with Anglo-Saxon pride, I want to throw some names his way: Margaret Sanger, Charles Darwin, Christopher Hitchens, Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russell, Aleister Crowley, The Rolling Stones, Bill and Hillary Clinton.
However, the sin nature of humans is not dominant among any one people group.
Even we Christians -- the race of the saved -- rather than fight the flesh, have those moments when we are pampering it, when we do things such as cater to our pride. How do I know? Because I've been discipline enough times to know. And God, like any good parent, doesn't chasten you for doing right.
Troubling God will use who He wants, when He wants, where He wants, how He wants, for as long as He wants.
There are some people in history that we have more information about them then others in the same time period, and some folks that were more influential, like Peter and James among the Jews, and Paul among the Gentiles.
What is called "The Reformation" is a certain period in history where God used His human instruments to shape and change things. Some people He used more prominently than others.
What is troubling is when people give the human instruments more elevation/more attention than the God Who used them, when there is the "pedestal" placement of these folks in our hearts/minds. If not on guard, even Christians are subject to idol worship -- and they may not recognize what they're doing.
(Thank you, Bro. Saiko, for pointing out a form of idol worship: the man-created images of Jesus that we accept as the way Jesus looks, be the artwork white, black, or otherwise. (And some artwork is a human form of God the Father!))
Good talk I listened to your sermon on does God ordain everything. That is the best sermon I ever heard. Like it or not God ordained it in the hearts of man to vote for Trump from the beginning of time.
Great Appreciated! Greatly appreciated this sermon!! Was beginning to wonder if I would find a truly biblical message on this topic that so echoed my convictions, while also giving me much to ponder in respect to my personal daily walk with Christ and coming against the temptation of pragmatism. I greatly appreciate your faithful witness to our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you!
Got Off Track The debate started off great, but got off base later, mainly when the moderator started to interject her own thoughts on the topic. Also, allowing the callers to weigh in, they stole valuable time that the two debaters could of used to defend their belief. I did enjoy however.
a sobering thought I listened to Myles Munroe. I can't imagine what he (Myles) might do in Heaven when he stated that one tires after telling a man (Jesus) that they loves Him after the 500th time. It makes one wonder also if he tired of telling his wife or children the same (that he loved them)...or did he cease after awhile.
Our words are so dangerous.
Thank you Saiko Woods for the topic and concern.
He's dead but the doctrine lives! Myles Munroe is dead but his devilish doctrine lives on in books, audio and video media. I knew he was a false teacher but I didn't know that Myles Munroe taught that the gospel was not about Jesus, no one needs to hear about the blood, and other such things like this. Thanks you, Saiko Woods, for the information.
This is true, even though we don't understand.no From my personal experience, I can look back and see that God had his hand in my life. The good and the bad. I don't understand it all, but I believe he loves me and I will continue to trust him. There is nothing nor no one else that we can have complete trust that has the power to deliver us.
