“Great Sermon!”
James Martin from United States
I am really enjoying this series. Proverbs is a book that never gets old. Jesus really is the source and basis of all joy.

“ Catholic-Like defense? ”
His first point is, "Use of the KJV is the historic position of the Fundamentalist movement." This is a logical fallacy called "argumentum ad antiquitatem" it is also called, "appeal to traditional wisdom" This is a Catholic-like argument. His second point is, "There are no compelling arguments for changing from the King James Version." how about Grandvill Sharp's rule? How about 1 John 5:7 not being original? There is a lot of ignorance on the part of Marc Monte. Point number three, "There are many compelling arguments for continuing to use the King James Version: There is a lot of assertions made about the Textus Receptus, but what edition of the Textus Receptus is the word of God? Which one is preserved? Which edition of the KJV is the preserved word? Is it the 1611? If so, what printing of it? And is it the Cambridge version or the Oxford? Because there's differences between the two. In regards to "He who" or "God was" it does not not affect doctrine because the rest of the NASB declares Jesus to be the Son of God. I think that it is obvious that he is using the KJV as the standard, and his practical reason was almost Gail Riplinger status. Common KJV arguments that have been debunked for over 40 years.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I find a New Testament teaching on giving helpful 1 Corinthians 16:2 & 2 Corinthians 9:6-7: 1 Corinthians 16:2 says: "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." This passage brings out four points: we should give individually, regularly, methodically and proportionately. The matter of your giving is between you and God (not the pastor and/or anyone else), and He always takes into account our circumstances. He knows when they are beyond our power to direct and control. The important thing is that we see giving as a privilege and not a burden. It should not be out of a sense of duty, but rather out of love for the Lord and a desire to see His kingdom advanced. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says: "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." The deeper question, you see, is this: What has priority in our lives? Is Christ really first or do we put ourselves and our own desires first? Make sure Christ is first in your life, and then ask Him to guide you.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I used to see it your way until God reminded me through his Word I am not to question the potter. In fact Paul knew it would be man's response when he says YOU WILL SAY IT'S NOT FAIR! Just as you are basically saying... I echo Paul and Isaiah - who are you oh man!? I noticed you only quoted the last part of JOHN 6:37; 37a clearly states ALL WHOM THE FATHER HAS GIVEN me WILL COME. It's up to the Father Sir, not you.

“ Wow! ”
After all these years, Pastor Monte is still teaching against hyper-Calvinism and perhaps Calvinism in general. I am glad to hear this and glad to hear he didn't cave. What a great sermon!

Excellent message! All those who profess to be born again Christians and believe that God is finished with Israel and that Israel is the Church (Replacement Theology) need to listen to this message. There is no room for anti-semitism in the life of the born again Christian, period!
