Great vision. David regains his vision about the Temple and serves God even if he will not have the glory of building it. We must work for God even in old age, because the next generation will build on our foundation, for the glory of God. David passes to Solomon his vision.
Great sin. God stirs David to sin because He is angry with Israel and wants to punish Israel. Nobody can sin without affecting the lives of other - an idea that appears again and again in these series on the life of David.
Aging David. It is an error with the tile. The message is not about what the title suggests, but it is from chapter 21:1-11 and 23:1-7. The wars with the Philistines, the incapacity of David to war any longer, about the aging period, the wisdom to let others to continue the work. What to do when the powers fail you: to look back to what God did for you, to do the small things you can and to look ahead to the other world with expectations.
Praise God! Are you sure you know the first message of the cross----do not listen to this if you are not ready to have your soul, heart and mind stirred.
Much needed truth Thank you Mr. Ptacek for speaking the truth. The Biblical doctrine presented here is one that must be heard in the church today. We also need to repent of the sins heard in this sermon and pray that the Lord would bless us with a biblical ideal of family and manhood.
Great Sermon! In today's society of a untoward generation this is a harsh message, that all needs to hear. A eye opener, and hopefully a spiritual awakening.
Great lessons from David. Another lessons to learn from David, from his good deeds (forgiveness of Shimei and of Israel) and from his mistakes (his attitude towards his army because of his grief, his attitude toward Joab).
Don's fight with God. Interpretation of Absalom's fall in the light of Proverbs 2:21,22 and of the fifth command. God punishes a disobedient man, even when he takes so great a care to spare his life. God has the last word.
Answer to prayer. God answers David's prayer and turns Ahithophel's counsel to foolishness. Excellent message about prayer and about the relationship between prayer and God's working. God is sovereign over events and over the minds of men.
Seeing God behind. Humility, consciousness of sin before God and the wisdom, the science of seeing God in the background of every unpleasing event.
Great gift from God. Old reliable friends are a blessing from God, especially in hard times! I think that in everyone's life there is this experience: looking back through the years, you can see friends who promised so much at the beginning, but who departed after a while. And so few are loyal for years.
