“ A Most Excellent Sermon! ”
Sometimes life is just so hard ... so INCREDIBLY hard. Thank you, Sir, for mentioning the following four blessings we know now IN THIS VERY LIFE: 1. We increasingly grow in our understanding of God's Words. As we obey, we learn. 2. We have true gospel communion with the Trinity. 3. We have greater assurance in praying. 4. We are transformed from glory to glory. Hearing this part of your message confronted me with an area where I lacked faith. Thank you for your faithful preaching, Dr. Pipa!! God bless you, Sir.

“ Simple and Clear ”
Thank you, Dr. Bartosch. God bless you profoundly. Yes, 'easy believism' has cost much but thank you for ministering to God's church against the other myth: that we can 'lose our salvation'. 1 Corinthians 1:4-9*; Matt. 7:21; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Hebrews 12:14; Rom. 8:28-30; Jer. 31:3; even your unplanned Luke 15; Heb. 7:23-25; John 15:26; John 10:28; and Phil. 1:3-6* Thank you for speaking SIMPLY with TENDERNESS this time, Dr. Bartosch. Prov. 25:11

“ BRAVO, Baptist Brother ”
Dr. B. makes applications using "applicational inferences", I believe he called it. This morning a "strange providence" (the kind that's perhaps behind such logic) led me to find a diff. btw. the WMCF and LBCF: WCF Chapter 1: "6. The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for his own glory, man's salvation, faith and life, is either expressly set down in Scripture, or by good and necessary consequence MAY BE DEDUCED from Scripture: unto which nothing at any time is to be added etc." LBC Chapter 1: "The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man's salvation, faith and life, is either expressly set down or necessarily contained in the Holy Scripture, to which nothing is to be added at any time, either by new revelation of the Spirit, or by the traditions of men." Subtle, but big, huh? I'm proud of you, Joseph!

“ wow ... Wow ... uh, Gabe, Joseph ... WOW ”
Men, You know what to do... I think it's not a coincidence, Gentlemen, that good 'ol Yahoo posted this very day an article entitled "Record-breaking 405-pound tuna caught". [Monday, Dec. 6] Reel in Powell. Move it or lose it because South Haven, Michigan WILL snag 'em if you don't. Okay, we don't have a church yet;... but, mark my words: Mark, might, Might, MIGHT (mind you) LOVE JESUS as much as I do and THAT'S what I'm going to find for MY TOWN. This feisty fish will out pray you for Parson Powell.

“ Encouraging Sermon! ”
This sermon teaches that there are several motivations to duty in 1 Peter 1:1-13 - 1. election, predestination; 2. new birth, being born again, a changed life; [DV, more and more] 3. future reward/ "UNDEFILED. UNFADING INHERITANCE"; [loved that one, thank you] 4. testings, refining us to gold; [true truth] 5. increased love for Christ despite not seeing Him face-to-face; and, 6. prophetic realities which have led us and help us to persevere. "THEREFORE: Prepare sober-mindedly for vigorous and sustain exertion!" [I'd like to hear more from this man, please.]

“ Great Sermon! ”
I've listened to this entire series thus far. The 10th commandment remains. If you don't have your Bible: STOP! From the pulpit, this man quotes more scripture than he exigetes. Apparently, they speak EXCEPTIONALLY well for themselves. If you were wondering how comprehensive this series might be, now you know. THAT'S how one can preach through the whole of the 10 commandments in eleven sermons! Don't let the gentle voice of this first introductory sermon fool you either. By the nineth... Watch out. It's CONVICTION TIME throughout. I warned you.

“ Searching Sermon ”
I thought FOR SURE I'd see myself as the "captive young girl" in this sermon (poor me, without a decent church, so far from 'home'). I listened to the whole thing and was she the whole time. But, then, when I woke up in the morning God used this sermon and all that I read in His word to make it clear: I am the limping leper (prideful puritina). Thank you. Much love to you.

“ Fine Sermon. ”
Thank you for saying "singleness" and "marriage" are not "spiritual gifts" (as in supernatural empowerments) but rather more like "presents", you know, like Christmas gifts. I can wear Grandma's holiday sweater no matter the weather because I cherish My Gram dearly. Pastor Smith asserts "singles" are not to be considered "second class Christians". Come on, PS. "The last shall be first." Don't steal my reward.

Living a Life of Love
Mark Hatfield

“ Chldlike imitators trying to walk like Jesus walks ”
"Never apologize for stopping and getting your tank filled up." Wise permission for us to remind ourselves (especially to those who've remained unmarried for a long while and truly adore Christ and His church with the best part of who they are - we need to remember that). But, I can't help but wonder, "Don't we also fill our own buckets by filling the buckets of others?" Just wondering... secondarily, of course (assuming we've gone to the 'source' ourselves consistantly otherwise, "No can do!") This is the first sermon I've heard by Mark Hatfield. I'm not sure if it's the sermon or the preacher but he (you) remind me of Greg Nichols. I thought that especially when you said, "Don't dwell on how poorly you've loved... AND CONVERSELY, don't admire yourself for how well you've loved either...". PN makes applications like that. Those are the kinds that we tend to remember (or I do as one who errors on both the left and the right)... Me thinks, such applications tend to burn themselves into our minds for many, many days to come. Easley, are you considering MH or is he just visiting as pulpit fill? Consider this man. ... or steal him.
