When Philip Hunt was sixteen he attended a missions conference where he surrendered his life to serve God. He had struggled with the fear that absolute surrender to God might mean that he would be called to preach. By God's grace he abandoned himself to God's purposes the evening of November 2, 1982. Philip has lived and ministered in Zambia since 1993. His vision is to impact the continent of Africa with the gospel for the glory of God. He served as the pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Riverside, Kitwe until 2007. In response to the urgent need of caring for orphaned children, God lead the team of Independent Faith Mission to pursue the establishment of Faith Children's Village. Philip has served as the Director of the Village since its inception in 1993. His passion is to train the next generation of God-called African leaders who will catch the same vision: God-called men and women who will advance a truly indigenous independent Baptist church planting movement across the continent of Africa. For this reason he has dedicated his life to the establishment of Central Africa Baptist College in Kitwe, Zambia where he serves as the College President.

Philip has been married for the past 20 years to his wonderful, beautiful wife, Lori and they have been blessed with seven children.
