There is a startling contrast between the old priesthood with its daily sacrifices and the once for all reality of Jesus' death for sinners. It is a glorious thing that is so hard for us to comprehend that we often are guilty of trying to add something to it, to complicate the simple act of faith in Jesus with the false hope of our works. Our religious practices, our religious symbols and icons, our sacred places, beautiful sanctuaries and our "holy men" can in no manner help us find God. Neither will they bring God closer to us… It is the blood of Jesus Christ alone that transcends the barrier our sins create, He ALONE paid the price, one time for all who will be saved! There is no need for us to pretend to repeat it, and no need for Christ to redo what He has already accomplished. Those who are found in Christ are forever forgiven.. And Jesus Christ has no need to continually die for sin, for He has already, once for all, paid the price to save those chosen by the Father!
