Many people overlook the basic reality of man's relationship with God and think that somehow there is a way to find our peace with God through our own doing… But the scripture is clear, there is no possible peace with God by our working or our works. We MUST have someone to stand between us and God and we MUST have one who Himself is able to stand… in other words someone who does not have anything that hinders them from doing what is needed to forge our path to God. There is no man on the earth who can do this for us, no person of any religious organization can solve this great dilemma. We need a mediator, an intercessor a true and holy High priest. And the writer of Hebrews points out here that it was FITTING that Jesus become our High Priest… fitting for our need and fitting to the display of His awesome glory and spectacular beauty.
