We're at the 4th saying that Christ says from the Cross. This is the first one that He says with a loud voice. And it's a Creation wide sound. ...And He's saying exactly what He intended to say, exactly to who he intended to say it to, at the exact time He intended to say it. Christ is Creator God in the flesh. He is Almighty God, The Ancient of Days, The Everlasting Father. You have to start there or you cannot understand what He is saying here.
He is quoting… This is God quoting exactly what He wrote: Psalm 22:1. Most teaching today throw's the Deity of Christ off the boat here. This the overpowering view today... and it has taken over.
Here’s a good question... Why does He say Psalm 22:1 in Aramaic?
The gaggle of scholars say He is delusional when he says it, and that is why. My response to that is WHAT?!?!
Christ wants us to learn what He is teaching us.
It's a song written by King David. In the early 1900's it was a very popular song. And back then, they knew what it meant I'll bet.
Psalm 22 is:
1. A Complaint. Would the second Person of the Triune Godhead complain to the First Person of the Triune Godhead? Is it something that Jesus Christ would say to anyone, not alone to God? It is wrong. Would He say anything wrong? If He does, then He is not an approved sacrifice and we are not saved.
2. A Praise
So... Why does He say it? Pastor is now going to give you the answer to this dilemma... And... I've intentionally stopped typing here. Why? Because I don't want to ruin it for you.
