to that truth. Let's turn in
our Bibles to Psalm 11 and verse 3. Thank you, Brother Justin
and Kaylee. Our sins are many, our mercies
are more, where grace or sin did abound, grace did much more
abound. I hope you know that truth personally. I do want to bring kind of a
patriotic message, what you can do for God and country. Verse
3, Psalm 11, verse 3, if the foundations be destroyed, what
can the righteous do? Boy, there's really no answer
to that question, I guess. But here are some things we can
do maybe before the foundations are completely destroyed. I want
to give you five today for God and country. It says, if the
foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? You know
the foundation is so important. to any structure, whether it's
literally a physical structure like a house or a building, skyscraper,
foundation's the most important part. You better spend most of
your time getting that right before you build on top of it.
And then, spiritually, the foundation,
Jesus said of our lives, whosoever heareth these words of mine and
doeth them, I will liken him unto a man that dug down deep
and built his house upon a rock. And the floods came and the winds
beat against the house and the rains came down but it stood
because it was built upon a rock. You've got to build your life
upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone. And
that's what he said And not only hearing it, whosoever heareth
these things but doeth them. You got to do what he says to.
Turn to the book of Proverbs. Foundations are important and
the foundations of our country are crumbling. Some of you came
to the patriotic rally Thursday night out at countryside and
I went over the seven foundations of our nation. I'm not going
to go over that this morning. Literally, I went into the founding
fathers and the seven foundations of our country, which were all
based upon scripture. Now, we have in this verse, Proverbs
22 and verse 28, it also says this, remove not
the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. One of the
things socialists did in Venezuela is they took away their history.
And they replaced it with a revisionist history and Venezuela basically
is no more. It has been destroyed by socialism
in about 10 years. And that was one of the things
they took away from the children, they took away from the youth
the true history of their country. The Bible, that's why the Bible
says here, remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have
set, like them or lump them, it's part of our history. And
we need to leave the ancient landmarks there and we need to
teach true history based on the landmarks, whether you like them
or not. They can be visual aids to teach
that this was right or this was wrong. In Proverbs 23 in verse
number 10, remove not the ancient landmark and enter not into the
fields of the fatherless. For their Redeemer is mighty
and he shall plead their cause with thee. But the first part
of verse 10 says remove not the ancient landmarks. Leave the
landmarks alone. Leave them alone. And if there's
lessons to be taught by those landmarks, whether they're good
or bad, teach them. Use them as visual aids. I like
what the French president did last week. He said, we are not
tearing down our statues. We are not tearing down our landmarks.
We're leaving them up whether you like them or not. That's
our history. Whether our history was good or not, we need to keep
these up and teach people whether they were good or whether they
were bad. And we have to understand that
the socialist and communist agenda for our country is not a conspiracy. It's an agenda. It was written
down and they said, for instance, in Skousen's book in 1958, he
says, this is how we're going to do it. This is how we're going to do
it, point number one, point number two, point number three, point number four. And as I was reviewing those
this week, I said, wow, boy, they're good. See, the socialists
believe in this. They believe that the organized
minority will always defeat the unorganized majority, always. And they've had a pretty good
track record at it. Whitaker Chambers said, the problem with
socialism is atheism. That's what we ought to fear. Four months from today, every
one of us in this room will know who our next president is. And you will know the direction
of our country four months from today. We have some who are running
on Freedom, liberty, free market, capitalism, strong military,
safe borders, healthy monogamous families, strong military. I think I mentioned
that. We have some that are running on that platform. Others are
running on a platform of anarchy and lawlessness, destroying the
foundations, tearing down the landmarks, teaching revisionist
history to children quite fluently as they have, it seems, conquered
most of the control of our public schools where 89% of our children
attend, our colleges and universities, our media outlets, our newspapers. And that organized minority is
profoundly affecting the the thought life, not of us older
people, but of the younger ones growing up, and are promising
them a better life through socialism, which has failed everywhere it's
been tried. Vladimir Lenin said, Vladimir Lenin said, the goal
of socialism is communism. That's what he said. Socialism is atheism. Keep in
mind, Lenin put to death five million of his own nation's residents
because he deemed them undesirable. Five million in times of peace.
That's a lot of people. Karl Marx was the father of communism. He died in 1883. He was so despised,
nine people showed up for his funeral. He was so despised. But he wrote
a book called The Communist Manifesto. that has been published and printed
and distributed, and it remains in the top four books in human
history for distribution, over 500 million copies. I wish somebody
would have destroyed those writings before or after he died. He was
so despised, but they have been embraced. And in 1848 when he
wrote that, then in 1859 Charles Darwin wrote a book And I don't know if you know
the name of the book. They say the name is The Origin
of Species. Here's the real title. On the Origin of Species by Means
of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle
for Life. Do you know who invented racism?
Evolutionists. I know what the solution to racism
is. There is no such thing as racism. There's one race, Adam's
race, to which all of us belong. It doesn't matter how much melatonin
you have in your skin color. If I'm lying dead in a hospital,
I don't care whose blood you give me. in a transfusion. I don't care if the person's
black, yellow, red, purple. I'll take their blood. We all
belong to Adam's race. That's the Christian answer.
There's no such thing as racism. We're all the same race. And
the socialists, one of the things they love to do to the majority
is just to divide them into fragments. get men against women and rich
against poor and black against white and Hispanic against Asian
and they just like to, it's their agenda. It's their agenda. No, I'm not going to stop. Our foundations are being destroyed
and our landmarks are being removed. And we're starting to see, and
it's just a few, but we're starting to see anarchy and Marxism in
our country really, really taking root like never before. And we'll
know in four months what direction our country wants
to go in. And with that in mind, let me give you five things that
you can do for God and country. Number one is love your nation.
There's nothing wrong with loving your nation. I would say that
if we were in Russia today. Love your nation. Pray for those
that are in authority over you. Pray for the souls of your neighbors
to be saved. Turn to Luke chapter number seven.
Luke chapter number seven, there's nothing wrong with loving your
nation. We believe in nationalism. Even in the book of Revelation,
it talks about heaven and says, the nations of them that are
saved shall walk in the light of it. There will still be nations
for all of eternity. God's going to separate someday
the nations and judge them as a man separates his sheep from
his goat. There's going to be the individual judgment of every
one of us before God someday. We're going to stand before the
Lord and give an account of ourselves as individuals, but there's also
going to be of our nation. We should be concerned that our
nation loves God and loves Israel. And you should love your nation.
In Luke chapter number 7 and verse 5, there's this precious
verse here. It says this, for he loveth our nation and hath
built us a synagogue. I love that verse. Now this was
a Gentile. He was a Roman centurion, but
he fell in love. He was assigned in his business
of the Roman Empire to a little spot on earth called Palestine
at the time. And he began to learn the history
of that little spot on earth where he was assigned to carry
out the will of the Roman Empire, and he fell in love with Israel.
in this century, and he had a hundred men under him. He was a man of
high esteem and well-to-do in means. He not only loved his
nation, but he built them a synagogue. That is a place to worship, a
place to go hear God's word. And the remains of that synagogue
are still there in Capernaum for you to visit today. Archeologists
have dug them up. It was a large place. And he
built the whole first floor for the men to meet in, and he built
the whole second floor for the women to congregate. And, you know, something I really,
I've said this before, I think one of the things we can do to
show our love for America is try to plant some churches. He
loveth our nation, hath built us a synagogue. That's a verse
that has profoundly affected me. Now one of the things we
can do to love our nations is try to reach some Americans with
the gospel and get them saved. Try to be a soul winner. Try
to be a good witness, a good testimony, the light of the world,
the salt of the earth. But we should love America. We're
told today not to love America because of all of its past injustices
and prejudices and everything. But we should love our country
with all of its warts and blemishes. I mean, apply that to everything
else. Should you quit loving your wife because she's not perfect? Should you quit loving your husband
because he's not perfect? Should you quit loving your parents
because they're not perfect? Of course not. That's not love.
Love is God. God is love, and he loves us
with all of our faults, all of our warts, all of our blemishes.
Do you have a past? Man, I sure do. I'm glad, like
the song said today, God doesn't bring up our past. He chooses
to remember it no more. And the thing about America that
I love is it's a self-correcting nation. It's a nation that came
together, even in its founding documents, they admitted this
and they said, to make a more perfect union. We know we're
not perfect. We're far from it, but let's
correct what's wrong. And a lot of our founding fathers
weren't perfect either. And a lot of them were involved
with servants and slaves and things like that, and that was
wrong, and I'm glad that got corrected. But you know, some
of those, like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Francis Scott
Key, he wrote the National Anthem there, he had a servant. And
they're letting everyone know that nowadays. from his past. Well, let me tell you something
else about Francis Scott Key. He got saved. And that's just the way it was in
the world back then. And he wrote this song in our
hymn book. Lord, with glowing heart I praise thee. For the
bliss thy love bestows. For the pardoning grace that
saves me. And the peace that from it flows. Help, oh God. My weak endeavor,
this dull soul to rapture raise. Thou must light the flame or
never can my love be warmed to praise. And then there's three
other verses. He became a Christian. John Newton was a slave trader. He wrote Amazing Grace. Should
we stop singing Amazing Grace? No, we have a country that corrects
itself and we live in a country that has been a blessing to the
world militarily and charitably. There's no country in all of
human history that has shown more love to people through charity
than the United States of America. We are not aggressors. We don't
start wars. But boy, we sure jump in when
we see a small nation that's being attacked by imperialists
or Nazis or communists or socialists. And at great risk to our boys
in the military and ladies. We have gone to these nations.
We have freed them from the imperialists. We have freed them from the Nazis.
And then we went and paid to reconstruct their countries.
It's amazing the charity of this land. You see, it depends on
what you want to look at. You see, if a human being has
ten attributes and nine of them are good and one is evil, you
know who focuses on the evil one according to the scripture?
The slanderer called Satan. The slanderer called Satan looks
at the fault of a person and is the accuser of the brethren. You can dig into any human being,
any father of our country, and you can find a fault. You can
find a fault in me as a pastor. You look under a microscope at
me long enough and you'll probably say, I don't even think that
guy's qualified to preach. If you want to be that way through
life, find faults. Or do you want to look at the
nine good things people have done? Christopher Columbus. You know why he sailed? Because
one day he was reading the Bible, Isaiah 40 verse 22 says, the
earth is round. And he said, I think I can sail
to the east without falling off the end of the earth. And the
fact that there are so many people who need to hear the gospel of
Jesus Christ influences me. He wrote one book in his life,
the book of prophecy. One book. And in that he said,
there are so many people who need to hear the gospel of Jesus.
They won't tell you that in history today. They won't tell you kids
in school that. They won't teach that in the
universities and colleges today. Oh, they'll just focus on some
faulty head and say, this guy is not worth listening to. They
tore down one of his statues last night. Yeah, I have faults too. I got
a lot of them. But I hope you don't, I don't
discount Solomon because after he wrote Proverbs and Song of
Solomon and Ecclesiastes, he went, he ran off with a thousand
women. I still read his writings all
the time. I still read about David and his writings, 73 songs,
but he went off and committed adultery with a woman, then had
her husband murdered. Moses murdered an Egyptian, but
I don't take Genesis and Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy
and rip it out of my Bible and say, I'm not going to have that
in my life anymore. Paul, he wrote 13 books of the
New Testament, but I'm not going to look back and say, oh yeah,
but look at all the people he put in jail and all the people
he had flogged and lashed and beaten and stoned. And I'm not
going to take those 13 books and rip them out and say, I'm
not going to pay attention to him. He had a fault in his life. I'm telling you something, we
need to love our nation. And we need to love all of our founding
fathers and mothers, even though they had faults. Because, praise
God, eventually things got corrected. And we continue to do that. As
precious sister Catherine Lee Bates wrote, America, America,
God shed his grace on thee. God mend thine every flaw. May
God thy goal refine. One of our fellow New Yorkers,
Daniel Roberts, who lived back in the 1800s through the Civil
War, he wrote a poem, God of our fathers,
whose almighty hand leads forth in beauty all the starry band
of shining world and splendor through the skies, our grateful
songs before thy throne arise. Thy love divine hath led us in
the past. In this free land, by thee our
lot is cast. Be thou our ruler, guardian,
guide and stay. Thy word our law, thy paths our
chosen way. From war's alarms, from deadly
pestilence. Be thy strong arm our ever sure
defense. Thy true religion in our hearts
increase. Thy bounteous goodness nourish
us in peace. Refresh thy people on their toilsome
way. Let us from night to never-ending
day fill all our lives with love and grace divine. and glory,
laud, and praise be forever thine." Amen. God of our fathers. They
were Christians. You ever notice Christians aren't
perfect? But they can be corrected. Fifty-six of them signed the
Declaration of Independence. Fifty-two of those signers were
members of Protestant or Evangelical churches, Christians. Three were
deists, one was a Roman Catholic. They were all white men. And almost every one of them
gave up their lives, their riches, their sacred honor. I got a book
my kids gave me once called, They Signed for Us. And it gives
you the history of them. and almost every one of them
died penniless. But we're told the founding fathers
were rich white men. They died penniless. They gave
all so that anybody who lives here can have a better country. What a price they paid. What
a price they paid. Love your nation. We need education.
That's what we need. Not indoctrination, education.
What I just said, most people don't know. In the words, the famous words
of Marv Levy, where else would you rather be than right here,
right now? What country? A Muslim country? You ladies like that? Would you
like that, ladies? A Hindu country? A Buddhist country? Atheist country,
socialistic country, communist country, where would you rather
be? Than right here, right now. Why don't we love America? Very
quickly, a couple other things is pray. Pray for your nation. That's the first order of business
of the church. First Timothy chapter two, verses one through
four says we ought to pray for those that are in authority over
us. And we have an example of a man
who did that named Daniel, and his prayer is recorded for us
in Daniel nine. We don't have time to read it,
but in verses 19 and 20, He says, O Lord, hear, O Lord, forgive,
O Lord, hearken and do. Defer not for thine own sake,
O my God, for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
And while I was speaking and praying, and listen, and confessing
my sin and the sin of my people, Israel. Oh, thank the Lord. He's about
80 years old right here. But Daniel is humble enough to
say, God, I've sinned and my sins have cost my country. My sins have cost my country.
Forgive me of my sin and forgive me of the sin of my country."
And he prayed for Israel. And he got to see it, but I think
he was too old to go back when they were able to leave
Babylon and begin to rebuild Jerusalem. I believe God answered
his prayer as he prayed for Israel as a captive there in Babylon. Number three, vote. Vote. Every one of you who is 18 years
of age or older, I want to encourage you today to get registered to
vote and then make it your lifelong goal that you will never miss
an election. I don't care if it's for dog
catcher or the school budget in your town. or for your village
mayor or councilman or whatever, all the way up to the presidency.
You get 18, you got four months to register. Now, you don't have
to register in a political party. I don't belong to any political
party. Some of you do, that's fine. That's fine. All right? But you got to register to vote
in the election this year, November 3rd. And every one of you who's
18 should be an educated voter. And you should make it your goal
to vote in this election and to never miss any kind of election
of any sort until you die and try to make it so that no matter
what happens to the nation, you can live with your conscience.
Say, I voted. I did what I could. Now, to vote
in primaries, you've got to be a member of a Democrat, Republican,
Independence, Green Party, whatever. But I want to say this before
you sign up for any party, that you study the scriptures. And
let me just say this in general terms. As you study the scriptures,
they will make you more and more conservative. That's what they'll do for you.
They'll teach you killing is wrong. The scriptures will. Thou
shalt do no murder. They'll teach you the value of
life, even the life of the unborn. and you'll begin to take stands
not based on a political party but based on the Bible. The Bible
will tell you what a marriage is and what a marriage is not.
And there'll be so many different issues that the Bible can guide
you. The Bible is the Word of God
and it can guide you on what God says about all these issues.
Now in that room back there, our resource room, there's a
booklet I wrote with about 13 different issues and what the
Bible says for my own study, but maybe it'll help guide you.
But we need to vote. We need to vote. And then number
four, we need to write. And boy, that voting thing, so
many people who say they're conservatives don't vote and it's, these, some
of these gun rights people, they crack me up because they hardly
vote at all. They're forever whining, complaining
about the Second Amendment. They never vote at all. They
have a horrible track record for voting. And we should avoid that. Number
four is right. Number four is right. In politics,
there's an old saying, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Or the squeaky
wheel gets the grease. What does that mean? The wheel
on the wagon that makes the most noise is what is paid attention
to. And that organized minority makes
a lot of noise. They make noise through Hollywood.
They make noise through the media. They make noise in the universities
and colleges as professors. They make noise in the high schools.
They're very organized at making noise. And sometimes these poor
representatives of ours who might be conservative, they're the
only ones that are heard from. And so they think they're the
only ones that are out here. They need to hear from us. In
2 Chronicles chapter 21, it says these words in verse 12, And
then the words of his letter, that is to the king, are recorded
in verses 12 through 15. And it profoundly affects the
king. I would not read that letter
in the Bible and try to duplicate it because you're not a prophet
and I'm not a prophet. We do not foretell the future
like Elijah did. We foretell the Word of God as
it is written today. But Elijah used the method of
writing to affect Jehoram, the king. Does God believe in writing?
1,500 years. No book on this planet
has ever taken 1,500 years to write. God put a lot of time
into this book. Forty authors, three different
continents, three different languages to compile these 66 books of
this library called the Bible. God believes in the written word.
In fact, God says if a person never sees a miracle, that there's
just enough in Moses to keep them out of hell. They'll believe. Jesus said,
you have Moses and the prophets. Believe them. Read them. Get
the word of God out. Pass out tracts. Pass out. But
write letters. Write letters slow mail. Those
are the most effective to our leaders. When they get a slow
mail, self-addressed envelope, with a return address on it and
handwriting or perhaps typing if you don't have good cursive
or printing and you send that to them, those are the most impressive
letters they get. Make sure those letters are dripping
with respect and honey. Express what your view is but
be nice to them because we're Christians. We're Christians. And we ought to respect those
that are in authority, the powers that be are ordained of God.
But write to them and say, sir, ma'am, I just want you to know
that this is what I think about this issue. I'm one of your constituents,
and I sure would appreciate it if you could try to make sure
that this issue is carried about in this way. Just try to write
to them, assure them you're praying for them. And then last of all
is be righteous. We don't need any more sin in
this country. This country is like a rotting corpse, morally. We need some righteous people.
Turn to Genesis 18, 32 and closing. While you do that, I want to
read a verse out of Proverbs. Proverbs chapter 14 and verse
number 34, a very famous verse. It says, This righteousness exalteth
the nation. Would you like your country exalted
today? Lift it up. Here's how to do
it. Righteousness. It's called being moral. It's
called repentance. It's called quit sinning. Righteousness exalteth a nation,
but sin is a reproach on any people. If we want America exalted,
we've got to be righteous. How righteous? Well, only God
knows. But in Abraham's great intercessory
prayer for Sodom and Gomorrah, he said in verse 32, to God,
oh, let not the Lord be angry and I will speak yet this once,
peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not
destroy it for ten's sake. God was lining up to destroy
Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zoboam, and Zoar, those five cities of
the plain, because they were so evil, they had become so perverted,
and so wicked and so proud. But Abraham stood in the way,
stood between them and God one day and began to intercede for
them and said, God, you can't destroy the righteous with the
ungodly, can you? And God said, if I can find 50,
I won't destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. And then you know the story,
it went down to 45 and 40 and 30 and 20, and then finally what
I just read, God, if you find 10, God said, nope, I will not
destroy them. If we can find 10 people in all
those cities who are doing that which is right in the sight of
God, it does matter how you behave. It matters how I behave. God's
watching. I don't know what the number
is for America. I have no idea, but God has a number. And if
he sees that small remnant of people, Isaiah, said this except the
Lord of hosts in chapter 1 verse 9 had left us a very small remnant
we should have been as Sodom and we should have been like
unto Gomorrah he's talking about why Israel still exists because
there was a day when there was a very small remnant of righteous
people and God said I'm not gonna destroy Israel like I destroyed
Sodom and Gomorrah because there's a very small remnant. It matters how you act. It matters
how you dress. It matters how you behave. It
matters how you talk. It matters what you watch. It
matters what you're looking at. It matters what you see, what
you hear, what you do and what you don't do, and where you go
and where you don't go. It matters. God is watching us. And if we
love our God and love our country today, love your nation, pray,
vote, write, and be righteous. Now to do that, you gotta be
saved first. And then if you're saved, you gotta have the help
of the Holy Ghost and His grace to live a righteous life daily. Shall we pray? Father, help us,
Lord. We know in four months, the entire
country may change Lord, there's so many that are so blatantly
open about their socialism in our House of Representatives
in Washington, in our Senate, who are trying to take over the
executive branch, November 3rd, trying to make the next probably
two appointments to the Supreme Court in the next four years. So much is at stake for the soul
of our country. Lord, I pray you'd help us. God
help America, help me, forgive me Lord of my sins and God help
me to be more of a light and a salt of the earth for our nation. As the piano plays and we just
dismiss in a moment maybe you could have a word of prayer where
you're seated today for America or maybe the good Lord has worked upon your life to lead
you to a place of repentance and something in your life. Maybe
you just want to settle that with God right now where you're
sitting and say, God, I want to give this up for thee and
for my nation. So many have given up their lives
so we could be free. And God, we have a representative
republic if we can keep it. We have free market capitalism
if we can keep it. We have freedom of religion,
worship, expression, speech if we can keep it. But Lord, it's
very obvious more than ever that there are forces at work now
to change all of that, re-educate. God help us. Lord, hear our prayers
this morning. Affect us. Change us, Lord. Change
me. Lord, if any are here today that
aren't saved, they can't please you at all. A person who is unsaved
cannot please God, and they need to be saved. They need to believe
in your Son, Jesus Christ. The greatest offense they'll
ever commit in their life is to say to you, God, I don't need
your Son, Jesus. I can save myself. And that's
not true about anyone. We need the Lord. We need your
Son. Pray this morning, right where they're sitting, they would
believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive him as their Savior.
And maybe right where they're sitting right now, they would
pray and say, Lord Jesus, save me. That they'd believe you died
on a cross at Calvary for their sins and shed your blood to wash
them all away as a sacrifice, a substitute for them. Believe
in your resurrection, which is a fact of history. And right
now, I pray, Lord, that maybe someone open their hearts and
say, Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Save me this morning from
my sins. Give me eternal life, I pray.
Bless our church. Help us these next four months.
God help us. In Jesus' name, amen.
