As you're serving God and you're
on mission, God is going to bring unexpected relationships. Now
we read at the end of Acts chapter 15 that Paul and Barnabas, they
had such a disagreement as they started out on their second missionary
journey, they were debating whether to bring Mark because he deserted
them in the past. So they decided to part ways.
Barnabas went with Mark and then Paul reached out and he chose
Silas to come with him. So Silas and Paul had this relationship. It was really unexpected at that
point because it looked like it was going to be Paul and Barnabas
and maybe Mark. Well, that relationship with
Silas, it's a good reminder that you might be someone who enters
into an unexpected relationship, you might be chosen or choose
someone, but it's a beautiful thing. Out of this dispute and
out of this tension, God raises up this new friendship and partnership.
So as you serve God, keep your eyes open for who that unexpected
relationship and partner might be, and when they come, embrace
them. walk with them, and walk together
in love and in purpose. So stay open to who the Silas
is that God is bringing into your life. Or if you are the
Silas who is suddenly choosing you and you have an opportunity
that you didn't see coming, God brings people together for strategic
reasons and keep your eyes open for a Silas that God is bringing
into your life.
