The Politician

These verses introduce the Syrian ruler who, without doubt, is in Scripture a type of the antichrist who is to appear in the New Testament age. He is a ruler of intrigues--a master politican. His name is Antiochus Epiphanes. This sermon develops from the text his deceitful character and his rise to power. Sadly, mirrors of Antoichus are very much present with us in America today. We can win as a nation only by returning to the Calvinistic foundations of Puritan New England.
