Rendering All Things unto God

Text: Mark 12:13-17 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: On the Tuesday before Good Friday, Jesus is met with several groups who attempt to discredit and destroy him through theological traps. The Pharisees and Herodians team up with one trap they think is fool-proof, paying taxes to Caesar. But Jesus, knowing their hypocrisy, amazes them with his answer, "Render to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." The shocking statement in his answer is not that we owe some things to Caesar, but that we owe all things to God, and that must be our starting point for the Christian.
