And let's turn to the book of Psalms, a familiar place, a familiar passage in the Bible, but Psalms chapter number 34, Psalms 34. When you found it, you can say amen and we'll know that you're there. Psalms 34, amen. Not hard to find if you open your Bible right up to the middle, open your Bible right up to the middle and you'll be there in the book of Psalms. I'm breaking my own rules this morning. But if I don't drink some water, I'm not going to be able to preach. So, Psalms chapter number 34 this morning. And notice what the Bible says. We'll start in verse number one. It says, I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear thereof and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. And we're going to stop there and take our text from these three verses. And I'm going to preach on this thought this morning. The choir sang a song this morning, I Just Can't Praise Him Enough. And that's what I want to preach on this morning, this little thought, is I just can't praise him enough. Let me say this just in way of introduction. We cannot praise God enough. He is worthy of the praise this morning, no doubt about it. And the Psalms are the praises and the worship of David. He was called the sweet psalmist of Israel. And David never forgot... where God found him and what God did for him. When God found David, he was there in the pasture. And when God was done with David, he was living in the palace. And you can understand why David had a lot of praises in his mouth. God had brought him a long way in his life. And we have a lot to praise the Lord for this morning. and counting our blessings and praising the Lord is what will bring joy to our hearts. No matter what our circumstances, when you praise the Lord, God gets honored and glorified and God gets pleased with that. And I'll tell you this morning, we live in an unthankful generation, do we not? But I say this, we just can't praise Him enough. We need to praise the Lord. So let's pray and ask God's blessing on the service. Father, I pray that you'd empower me to preach this morning. with that unction that comes from heaven and with that supernatural ability. And though the flesh may be frail and it may be weak and it may have problems, God, You're greater than the flesh this morning. And I pray You'd show Yourself greater than the flesh. And God, even the sickness that's going around and the different sicknesses in the body, God, that You'd be stronger than that this morning. Bless the Word, guide my heart and lips to say the things that are pleasing and right, convict the sinner, Lord encourage the child of God and do what needs done and and may you be honored and glorified as a result and we'll praise and give you the thanks now God asking it in Jesus name. Amen. All right this morning as we preach on this thought. I just can't praise him enough I just can't praise him enough, you know as David wrote the Psalms David kind of summed up his praises when you get to the end of the book of Psalms if you look in Psalms 148 and David records these praises the God and again God is worthy of all the praise this morning but Psalms 148 notice what he said there in verse number one and And we'll read the whole chapter there, because the whole chapter, the 14 verses, are psalms of praise. It says, Praise ye the Lord, praise ye the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the heights, praise ye Him, all His angels, praise ye Him, all His hosts, praise ye Him, sun, moon, praise Him, all ye stars of light, praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, ye waters that be above the heavens, let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commandeth and they will create Him, He hath established them for ever and ever. He hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons in all deeps, fire and hail, snow, vapor, stormy wind fulfilling his word, mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars, beasts and all cattle, creeping things and flying fowl. the king of the earth and all the people, the princes and all judges of the earth, both young men and maidens, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is excellent. His glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalts the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints, even of the children of Israel, a people near unto Him. Praise ye the Lord." And then look in Psalms 150, There's the summation verse number six. It says let everything that have breath praise the Lord Praise ye the Lord. Amen, and I can say this morning God made it very clear. Let everything that have breath be Praise the Lord. He mentions all those different things from the elements to the sun, the moon, the star, the weather. He said that everything in this world, everything that God's created, both in heaven above and in earth beneath, let everything praise the Lord this morning. God delights in praise. There's no doubt about it. He dwells in the praise and He desires the praise and hallelujah, He deserves the praise this morning and thank God He does. You know, I can hear the Freedom From Religion Foundation and those that are skeptical sinners out there say, well, what has God ever done for me? Well, can I remind you that he put breath in your body this morning? Amen. If you woke up this morning, that was the gift of God. You realize when you're sleeping, your heart rate goes down, your blood pressure goes down. and sometimes you're almost there at the point of death. People are sleeping so easy and at peace. And if God didn't make you arise in the morning, you wouldn't get out of bed. So thank God that He's given you breath this morning. If you're alive, that's the gift of God. God's blessed your life, no doubt about it. We think about all the good things that God has done, and I say, well, what about this? Thank God you were born in America. Hey, you say, well, I don't like my existence. You know, all these people say, well, you know, I'm going to leave the country if Trump's born. Go ahead. There's the door. Don't let it hit you in the rear end on the way out, right? God's blessed us. We live in America. Now, you know, I mean, you know, I'm not one of these political guys, and I'm not, you know, like I told you, when we pulled the lever, no matter what lever we pulled, we were going to throw up, all right? Because we're not necessarily satisfied with any of the choices that we had. But the bottom line is, this is still the greatest nation on earth. Amen. This is the breadbasket of the world. This is the land that flows with milk and honey. Anything you could possibly want in America, you can have it. And the poorest people in America are richer than a lot of the rich people in foreign lands as we speak this morning. I mean, a guy said this, when I was born in America, I hit the lottery just by being born in America. Because in America, you can be anything you want to be. It doesn't matter what your situation is. You can rise to any level in America if you're willing to work hard. The opportunity is there. The opportunity is there. And if you want to be something, you can. Barack Obama wanted to be president. That was his plan, and guess what? He became president. You know, if you've got something in your mind, your heart, that you want to do, then America's the place to do it. You can come here with nothing, and you can become a millionaire. That's why people come to America. That's why immigrants come here, because there's not another nation in the world like this. And you know what? And God blessed us to be born in this nation. We could praise the Lord for that this morning. Amen. Praise the Lord for our breath. Praise the Lord for where we were born. I mean, just praise the Lord for His blessings, the promises that we have, that God has promised to those who love Him, and the promises that are in this Bible this morning, and the freedom that we enjoy this morning. My goodness, we've got a lot to praise the Lord for. And David understood that. David understood what God had done for him in his life, and he just wanted to praise the Lord. So we just can't praise Him enough. Can't praise Him enough. Notice in verse 4 in our text, what David's praising the Lord for. Look in verse number 4, it says, I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Thank God this morning the Lord's delivered us from our fear. You know, in Christ, in Christ, there is no fear. In Christ there is no fear. What did Jesus say in John 14? He said, Let not your heart be troubled, and neither let it be afraid. You see, Christ can give the peace that pass so understanding. In the midst of fear, Christ can give the greatest calm in the world. If you've ever read Fox's Book of Martyrs, and those people who gave their life, who were beheaded, they were burned at the stake, they were beaten with rods, everything happened to these people, but they had the peace of God on their life, when they were going through these difficulties. Remember Shadrach and Meshach and Abednego when they answered the king? Nebuchadnezzar said, we're not careful to answer thee in this matter. Hey, there was no fear in their eyes when they answered the king, because thank God, in Christ, there is no fear this morning. You know, when I get up in the morning, I'm not worried about what's gonna happen. I'm not worried about, hey, you know, someone gonna come and get me. There's no fear, there's no fear in Christ. But I'll tell you what, when I was not a Christian, there was fear every day. I remember I'd go to bed at night and I'd pray, oh God, oh God, oh God, oh God, oh God. I'd be terrified at night when I went to bed. Terrified of the dark, terrified of the spirits, terrified of the boogeyman, terrified of everything you can think of. And do we not live in a frightful day when people are afraid of everything? We do. Why do you think everybody's doing the concealed and carrying, carrying weapons around? And, you know, because why? Because fear has, the spirit of fear has swept our nation. And people are afraid in the day in which we live. You have all these people that were, they're scared to death because Donald Trump became president. I mean, you know, and they're huddled up and they're crying. And, you know, some of these college kids, I'm thinking, why are people, my goodness. Hey, it doesn't matter who's president, I'm not going to be afraid, because Jesus Christ is still in control. Amen. He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love and power and a sound mind. As Christ, as He spoke to the disciples in John chapter 14, and He said that in John 14 and in verse 1, and then in verse number 27 He said the same thing, He said, Peace, peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. We don't have to be afraid this morning. So what dispels the fears? What dispels the fears this morning? What dispels our fears is our trust in God. You know, you have trust in God, you don't have to be afraid. People are afraid, well, I'm afraid of global warming, and I'm afraid of, you know, global famine, I'm afraid of global war, and I'm afraid of the Great Tribulation, I'm afraid of all these things. You know, the Bible says, "...Trust the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. And all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." The Bible says, What time I'm afraid, I will trust in thee. Isaiah 26.3 says, Thou wilt keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon thee, because he trusteth in thee. You say, what does God want us to do? He wants us to trust in Him and not... and not be filled with fear. In Psalms 91, I want to read a verse here. Psalms 91 and verse number 1. Again, God does not want us to be overwhelmed and consumed with the fear of this life. And there is fear. Psalms 91 says this in verse number one, He that dwelt in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress and my God and Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, from the noise and pestilence, He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust. His truth shall be a shield and a buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flyeth by day, nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor the destruction that waketh at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee. You see, trust in the Lord. Trust in the Lord for your salvation. Trust in the Lord for your security. Trust in the Lord for your safety. Trust in the Lord for your supply. Trusting in the Lord. Thank God. He delivered us from our fears through trusting in Him and through loving Him. You know, when you love someone, that gives you a lot of confidence. When you love someone and you know that they love you, there's confidence in that situation. Because the relationship that you have is what gives you the courage and the confidence not to be afraid. It's like a man and a woman that are walking together, and that wife walking with her husband. As long as she's with her husband, she's not afraid. As long as those children are along with their parents, they're not afraid. You say, why is that? Because the love relationship gives us confidence. And the Bible says, God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind. Herein is love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect. You know why there's so much jealousy in relationships today? Because there's fear. And fear produces jealousy. Husbands afraid they're gonna lose their wife, wives afraid they're gonna lose their husbands, children afraid that a parent doesn't love them as much as they love the other child. You say, what's the problem there? There's a problem in the relationship. Because when there's perfect love in the relationship, there's not going to be that fear and that jealousy that's there. There's going to be confidence. Perfect love casts without fear. And that's the problem today in our society. Because there's not any trust, and there's very little love in the day in which we live. Love is the problem. And trust is the problem. The Bible says, because iniquity abound, the love of many shall wax cold. And because there's not trust and love in the relationships, boy, things fall apart in a hurry. I do marriage counseling. You know what I tell people? I said, let me tell you something. The building blocks of marriage are trust and love. Trust and love. And when there's no trust, And there's no love, guess what? You have no marriage. And that's why the divorce rate is 67% among all people in America, saved and unsaved alike. Because the relationships, people relationships, there's no trust anymore. There's no love. There's nothing there anymore. Even from top to bottom, our society, there's no loyalty there, even when it comes to the workplace or anything else. Bill O'Reilly says, well, I'm looking out for you. Can I tell you what? I don't need Bill O'Reilly to look out for me because Jesus Christ is looking out for me. Amen. You know who Bill O'Reilly is looking out for? Bill O'Reilly is looking out for Bill O'Reilly. You know, that's just a little saying they have to promote the show, right? And they make their millions and millions. And who are they honestly looking out for? They look out for themselves. People look out for their own self-interest. But you know who God looks out for? God looks out for every one of us. Amen. And thank God that He does. We can have confidence and love and trust in the Lord that He's always going to be there. And thank God we can't praise Him enough. Can't praise Him enough for the trust and for the love. and for the forgiveness that he offers. Thank God that for the forgiveness that we have in Jesus Christ. You know, I'm glad I can say Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so, amen. And through that we have forgiveness. And Hebrews chapter number 4 and verse number 14, the Bible says, We have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. And then he went on to say this, and let me get the verse here, as I'm quoting it, but he went on to say this, he says, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. Thank God this morning that we have the access to receive forgiveness in Jesus Christ. You know, if you want to be forgiven this morning, guess what? You can be. You say, what do I got to do? You dial up heaven. What did the Bible say? For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Thank God. Hey, you don't got to have me to go to heaven. You don't got to have the church to go to heaven. You don't got to have some system to go to heaven. You simply have to have faith and belief in Jesus Christ. And thank God, Jesus said, all that come to me I will in no wise cast out. That's access. Aren't you glad God doesn't say take a number? You ever had to call the government? Man, God forbid if you ever got to call the government. And for you folks that are on Medicare, if you ever got to change your plan, God forbid you ever got to talk to the government. That's rough. I had to get my CDL renewed, my fiscal. And usually when I get, when I call Nashville and I talk to Homeland Security, You know, it's take a number, right? And you're on the phone just waiting for an hour for one of these people. I said, do these people ever work up in Nashville? Do they ever work? I don't know what they do. And you're on the phone just sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. I'm glad when I come to God I don't have to take a number. I'm glad he doesn't say, you know, press 2 for English. You know, aren't you glad that when you come to the Lord, He's there and He answers the phone right away? He said, call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great in my things, which thou knowest not. God is always there. Amen. Well, we've got a lot to be thankful for this morning. Just can't praise Him enough that we've got access. That we can come boldly to the throne of grace. That we have acceptance this morning. You know, when we come to God, there's acceptance. Now, you might knock on my door, and I might not accept you. I might knock on your door, and you might not accept me. Isn't that true? Most of the time, as human beings, we judge on face value. We look at a person, and we look at them, and we decide whether or not they are worthy of our time, our energy, and our effort based upon what we see with the eyes. But I'm glad that God doesn't see that way. I'm glad that God looks on the heart, amen. And God values us through his eyes of value. And thank God, he values the soul of every man and woman in the entire world. Every man and woman, boy and girl in this room, God places a value upon your soul. That's a great value. And the Bible says that he has made us accepted in the beloved. You know, all those people that the Pharisees in the world and the people rejected are the ones that Jesus Christ did not reject. Remember Nicodemus? He climbed up in that tree. He'd been rejected by the Romans. He'd been rejected by the Jews. He had been rejected by all peoples. He was a publican. He was a tax collector. He was the worst of sinners. But when Jesus came along and he came to where he was, he looked up the tree and he said, Zacchaeus, you come down because I'm going to your house today. Amen. You say, what was that? Acceptance. You know, it's funny, when it comes to acceptance, again, how we value one another. And the value that we look at people and say, you know, the attitude we have towards them. And I've seen sinners that have the attitude, I've seen the saints that have the attitude, but thank God Jesus Christ never had the attitude. Thank God, he said, hey, I'll leave the 99 in the fold and go find that one that's lost. Amen. And that is acceptance when it comes to God. So they don't look right, they don't act right, they don't talk right. You think God's concerned about that? God's concerned about what he can do for a person in their life and how he can change their life. That's the greatest thing in the world, the acceptance that we have in Jesus Christ. We have access, we have acceptance, we have assurance this morning. You know one of the greatest things that we have in Christ this morning is assurance? And boy, we live in a world that there's not much assurances in the day in which we live, but we have this assurance in Christ. He said, Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee, so that ye may boldly say, The Lord is my helper. I will not fear what man shall do unto me. You see, we don't have to have fear, because we have assurance. I have assurance that God is never going to leave me nor forsake me. You say, Brother Chris, when you lay down at night, are you afraid of the dark? Are you afraid of dying? Are you afraid? No, I'm not afraid of any of those things. Because I have assurance that Jesus said he'd never leave me nor forsake me. And that's why when we read the 23rd Psalm at the funerals, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me. Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Why? Because Jesus goes with us all the way. Can't praise Him enough this morning. Can't praise Him enough. Thank God, He's taken away, He's delivered us from our fears. Can I say this this morning? He saved us from our troubles. You have to laugh because this world is full of trouble, is it not? There are a lot of troubles in this world. Look back in our text here, in the book of Psalms, in verse number six, David goes on and says this, this poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. Life's full of trouble, isn't it? Verse seven, he said, the angel of the Lord encamped around about them that fear him and delivereth them. Apostle Paul, who wrote the New Testament, was acquainted with trouble. He was always in trouble. You know, and Paul learned to praise the Lord in his troubles. You know, learning to give God the praise when you're in trouble is such a great thing. To learn to give God the praise. Praise Him when there's problems. Praise Him when there's troubles. Say hallelujah anyhow. Even though things are falling apart, even though there's difficulties, hey, hallelujah anyhow. 2 Corinthians 7, the Bible says this, For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Without, we're fighting. Within, we're fierce. Nevertheless, God, that comforted those who are cast down, comfort us by the coming. of Titus. And in chapter 6 he said this, he says, But in all things approved ourselves as the ministers of Christ, in much patience, in affliction, in necessities, in distresses, in stripes, imprisonments, entombments, labors, watchings, fastings, by pureness, by knowledge, by long-suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and the left, by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report, as deceivers and yet true, as unknown yet well known, as dying and behold we live, as chastened and not killed, as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing, as poor, yet making many rich, as having nothing, yet possessing all things." Paul said, hey, there's problems everywhere you go, but hallelujah, God is still there. Remember when Paul and Silas were arrested and put in prison? And they'd been beaten, they're in the inner prison, it's cold, it's wet, it's damp. There's vermin and there's rats and there's bugs. Oh my gosh. And it's darkness in there. And the Bible says that at midnight they prayed and sang praises unto God. And what did God do? God shook the foundations up and all the prison doors were open. God was with them. Hey, this idea of, hey, that God can save us from all our troubles. God can save us out of all our troubles. Solomon said this, he said, Sorrow is better than laughter. For by the sadness of the counsel, the heart is made better. You know, trouble is something that we all need. Because trouble has a way of making us think about what our situation is. Isn't it amazing when things are going good, we don't think about God at all? But let people get in trouble, and what's the first thing they do? They get on the phone, and they say, what's the preacher's phone number? They say, oh, I know what it is. It's 894-8080. Hey, preacher, I'm in trouble. Well, it'd be nice if you'd call me when you weren't in trouble, right? And don't we do the Lord the same way? You know what trouble do? Trouble makes us think about God. You know when I pray for some people, I say, Lord, let them have all the trouble they can possibly have. Because when they're in trouble, they think about you. When they're having difficulties, they think about their creator. When things are going wrong in their life, they think about the things of God. Trouble is a good thing in our life. Because it gives the Lord the opportunity to deliver us from our troubles. It makes us look up. Troubles definitely make you look up. When you're laying in a hospital bed, or you're flat on your back, or you're flat broke, or you got a, you know, say, you know, what do you do? We're starting to look up. We just can't praise Him enough. Thank God He delivers from our troubles. Thank God our troubles have a way of bringing us, bringing us to God. You say, what do you do? Well, when you lose your job, what do you do? You praise Him. When your family members die, you praise Him. When you get cancer, you praise Him. Hey, when things fall, you say, what do you do? You just praise the Lord. When your car breaks down, well, hallelujah anyhow. You say, how can you say that? Because I've experienced all those things. I remember when I got laid off from my first job and I got my pink slip. I came out smiling, I was laughing, I was crying at the same time. I told my wife, she said, what are we gonna do? I said, hallelujah, God is gonna take care of the situation. Hey, you have problems, you have difficulties? You say, what are you gonna do? Hallelujah, God's gonna take care of the problems and the difficulties. The greater the problem, thank God, the greater the deliverance. The greater opportunity for God to show Himself that He is strong. David understood that. He said, listen. He said, He's delivered me from my fears. He's delivered me from my troubles. Notice what David goes on to say as he speaks on this thought of being delivered. Look in the same chapter, verse 17, it says, "...the righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and deliver them out of their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and save as such as be a constrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." I can tell you after 37 years of serving Christ, that He saves us from our troubles. He saves us from our troubles. You know, I'm glad that when you're going through life, we don't have to blame God or belittle our faith, but instead we can bless the Lord and thank Him for all He's done for us. I want to read a little poem. It says, perhaps we have not counted all our blessings one by one. Perhaps we have not bothered to remember them when they come. And maybe we have taken just for granted all things that the good Lord has created and the gifts that nature brings. autumn hills in glory robed, a golden field of grain, a sunset dazzling splendor, or the Milky Way's great plain, a starry sky's sublimity, the ocean's mighty power, the wonder of creation, and the petal of a flower. And so if we fail to show by work or act or deed that we are thankful unto Him who fills our daily need, May this day show we're grateful when we add up all the sum of the blessings we remember as we count them one by one. We sing that song. Count your blessings one by one. As upon life's billows, your attempt is tossed. Though we may be discouraged, thinking all was lost. Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. Can you count your blessings? Can you think about what God's done for you? Instead of worrying about what God hasn't done, maybe we should think about what God has done for us. Notice in verse number eight, David says this, O taste and see that the Lord is good, blesses the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints, for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. Come, you children, hearken unto me, and I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry." Does God supply all our needs? Thank God God supplies all of our needs. He supplies our nears. In verse 9, He says to those that fear Him, Proverbs 1, 7 says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Matthew says this, that fear not them which can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him which is able to destroy both the soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for farthing, and one of them shall not fall to the ground without your father? But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, you are of more value than many sparrows. Does God feed the birds? He does. And I don't even know how he's feeding them in this drought. What are they eating? What are they drinking? But you see them all around, do you not? Is God taking care of them? Is God taking care of the raccoons and the squirrels and everything else? God's taking care of all the creatures, man, they're all around the house. Can God not take care of you also? Are you not much more value than a sparrow? Are you of more value than the grass of the field? Is your cares and your desires not important to God in this world? You see, we sell God so short. God can take care of us in our life if we will put our life in God's hands. People say, I don't want God to take care of me. Good, take care of yourself and see how it pans out. You'll find out, don't pan out in a very good, very often. It's like kids who tell their parents, I don't want you to tell me what to do, I don't want your help, I don't want your supply. Well, ain't that what the prodigal son said? Boy, but he was thinking about dad when he was down there in the hog pen, was he not? He said, I will rise and go to my father. You know why he said, I'm gonna go to my father? Because where else could he go? There's a great lesson here. You know, when you get to that place in your life and you've done everything, there's only one place you can really go, and that is back to God. You know, it's amazing, this is the Bible Belt. And we live under the sound of the gospel and the shadow of the church. And most kids have been raised in church in this area. But how many have forgotten, forgotten their upbringing and their teaching? He said, how can I get my life straightened out? By arising and coming back to the Father. And thank God when you do, you'll find there's a ring and a robe and a royal feast. David said, I can't praise him enough. David was so thankful for what God had done for him and how he blessed his life and done abundantly above all he could imagine or think. God had so taken care of him. It was by fearing Him and seeking Him. The Bible does say, Seek ye first God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Serve the Lord with gladness and see if God won't work in your life. Happiness is the Lord. I say it all the time. Live for Jesus and let Him take care of the rest of it. And then lastly this morning in verse number 22, this is what David sums it up. He says, The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants, and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. He said, He redeemeth my soul. He redeemeth my soul. Praise the Lord this morning. He redeemeth my soul. Thank God. Isaiah says, Come now, let us raise together and say to the Lord, Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. God, you say, I've made so many mistakes in my life. Can I tell you who hasn't? Everyone in this room has made a lot of mistakes. But aren't you glad when we come to God and we have all this mess in our life? And man, we got a mess in our life. All of our sins, all of our problems, and God says, hey, how about this? I'll make you clean. I'll make you a white of snow. I'll forgive. I'll forget. Therefore, if any man be in Christ as a new creature, old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. Wouldn't you like to be that you're standing with God? That's what forgiveness is. That's what salvation is. That's what the new life in Christ is. You say, I keep messing up. Thank God, Christ keeps giving forgiveness. He gives cleansing. He gives restoration. In Psalms 40, we're right there next to it. If you look in Psalms 40, and we'll close with this. In Psalms 40. Notice what David says. Psalms 40 in verse 1, he says, I waited patiently for the Lord. He inclined unto me and heard my cry. And he brought me also up out of the horrible pit and out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And I put a new song on my mouth, even praise unto God. And many shall see it in fear and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies." You ever really give your heart to the Lord? And you'll realize, if you ever really do that, you'll realize that you can't thank Him enough. I look back at where God brought me from. I look back at where God found me. I wouldn't like some of you. God found me in the trash can. God found me in the trash heap. God found me in a desperate, dying situation without God and without hope. And He said, hey, you want forgiveness? I said, I want forgiveness so desperately. He said, you want a new life? I said, I want a new life so desperately. And he said, come on son, come on out of there and I'll give you a new life. And December 15th, 1979, at 9 o'clock in the morning, when I asked Christ to come into my heart and be my Savior, I embarked on a new life. And I'll tell you what, since that day I haven't been able to praise Him enough. My famous saying is, it'll be alright. No matter what it is, it'll be alright. Sometimes the brethren say, brother Chris, why is it going to be all right? Because God said it's going to be all right. I don't care what your situation is and what you're facing this morning. If God's for you, who can be against you? And if God is on your side, guess what? It's going to be all right. And we just can't praise him enough.
