Proverbs 20 verse 7 says, The
just man walketh in his integrity. His children are blessed after
him. Integrity is doing what is right
even when no one is watching. I'm not sure where that saying
originated, but it's what we call a truism. Politicians are
the poster children for what integrity is not. On the campaign
trail, the typical politician says and does all the right things
to get elected. They're once in power, they work
behind closed doors to accomplish the opposite of what they campaigned
on many times. And other times, simply do what
will line their pockets with cash, even if it's bad for the
people who elected them. As of September 2024, we have
a Republican Speaker of the House named Mike Johnson. He's a Republican
Congressman out of Louisiana. And a press release by Speaker
Johnson dated July 10, 2024 and posted on his official website
was titled, Speaker Johnson is fighting to prevent illegal aliens
from deciding US elections. Save Act is essential to protect
integrity of US elections, end quote. But in news reports as
of today, about three months later, we find out that behind
closed doors, he agreed to not even put the SAVE Act up for
a vote, thus protecting the rhino-globalist Republicans and Marxist-Democrat
globalists from having to publicly expose themselves as traitors.
Mike Johnson is demonstrating what integrity is not. But sadly,
that's the typical politician, no matter what political party
we're talking about. In contrast to that pathetic
display, our proverb says, the just man walketh in his integrity. His children are blessed after
him. And I'm one of those children. My dad was a man who was saved
by the time I was born, and he lived a life of integrity for
nearly 60 years as a father in front of his children. But he
also had a reputation as a man of integrity, even when his wife
and children weren't around. No one ever as much as suspected
my dad of cheating on my mom or being involved in any sort
of crime or sordid behavior. To the contrary, I couldn't tell
you how many times that men that my dad worked for or worked with
or did business with or was friends with who said something like,
Greg, your dad's the real deal. There aren't many men like him.
One man told me, I don't trust very many people and feel like
I have to watch them like a hawk, but I trust your dad. And I also
remember someone telling me when I was a teenager, Greg, he said,
boy, if you turn out anything like your old man, you'll do
just fine. I won't discuss the fact that I never called my dad
old man, but it took me a few years to grasp what I was being
told. But ever since becoming a Christian,
I've tried to live by dad's example and my dad would agree with the
words of Paul in 1st Corinthians 11 1 to be followers of me even
as I also am of Christ My dad would never even probably, I
don't remember him say, follow me or follow my example. But
as following Christ, we read his word and we're told to follow
those who follow Christ. Follow those good examples you
have. My dad never claimed to be perfect. As a matter of fact,
he never tooted his own horn. He was a humble man who believed
you lead by example. Talk is cheap. And even when
backed up by words, it's a sign of pride to be avoided. Needless
to say, my dad was never a fan of Cassius Clay, who became known
as Muhammad Ali, or any of the other athletes who always went
around boasting about themselves. Of course, he had the same feeling
about politicians or anyone else who wanted you to think they
were something wonderful. But that's my testimony. The
just man walketh in his integrity. His children are blessed after
him. And that's been my experience as the child of Robert L. Miller,
who went to be with the Lord on February 28th of this year.
And Psalm 22.4 says, our fathers trusted in thee. They trusted
and thou didst deliver them. And to that I say amen.

We define integrity, discuss what integrity is NOT and then Pastor Greg gives a testimony of how his own father exemplified this Proverb as a man of integrity and how that blessed his life.
