The Statutes of the Lord

What are the Statutes, or Precepts of the Lord? We discover that they are a mandate, an official order, a commissioning, they bring with them an authority which tells people to act in a certain way. In Psalm 19:8 we are told that they are right.

We are not made happy by our own achievements, that can never be! Our hearts are made to rejoice and be glad by obedience to God's Statutes, Statutes that are just, true and righteous. They are trustworthy, and Scripture urges us to meditate upon them.
