and have they made the connection? Because, see, it says it's two things that Satan does. I mean, that's why know the Bible is really good, because then you know what he can't do, but you also know what he can. And one is he can blind your mind to the truth. You ever share with people and say, I don't get it. I don't see it. I can't see that. And then we try to argue. Well, you can't argue people into the kingdom. You know, if Satan's blinding their mind to truth, they're not going to see it. And that's why if you're going to try to share this with someone who's anorexic or bulimic, because that's what we're focusing on this way, pray in your heart or out loud that the enemy could not keep them from seeing God's truth. And the second thing he does, he steals the word out of the heart. Now you say, how does he do that? I don't know. Ask Jesus when you see him. But I know that's what the Bible says. And Jesus said that he steals the word out of the heart. Remember that was with the sower? Remember that? And Satan comes along and steals the seed? And then Paul said, he blinds the mind to truth. And I think I can believe both those guys. You know, it's in the Word of God. So I know that that can happen. That can happen when I'm witnessing. And that's where praying can be amazing. I'll give you a crazy illustration of this, of Satan working when you're trying to share Christ. The Navigators would come out to CEF headquarters and they would do work around but then they could use all the facilities we have, the swimming pool and the basketball and all that. So they would have like a summer camp for college kids that were in the Navigators, like a spiritual retreat or whatever. So the Navs were there and they said, well, since you knew Das Trotman, and he was long dead, and you'd been in the office and stayed, you know, painted his bedroom and his house and all his stuff, when I was first saved, I would just come and share my concept of Das Trotman, so I was the founder of that group. And then they said, well, why don't you do some teaching in warfare? I was teaching the importance of two people going out witnessing, and how one should witness and the other should pray. You know, as one is sharing, the other is praying against enemy activity in the sharing. And what they found in CEF, some of the people that really got a hold of this was amazing. I mean, the testimonies that came back, because I was teaching in the same way, that when you teach children, if you've ever done any children's ministry, when you go to give the invitation, he stepped on my foot. I mean, all the demons in the whole state just showed up in that meeting. It's just, it's like horrible. Kids are awful. I have to go to the bathroom. You know, no, brother, you go, what is going on here? This kid's all became demon possessed as I come to the end. They're sitting there to the story, basically imperfect, but just when you go to get the gospel, if things could fall on the floor, they will, you know, they'll knock them on the, it's terrible. And so this one church, they were afraid to allow the CEF directors, in fact they did for a long time, the trainers at the school, and they had tried this before they came were telling me what was happening. And they asked this church if they could use their basement. But it was in a very high crime rate, low income area. And they said, if we let those kids come in here, they will tear this building down. They'll probably set it on fire. Reach them outside. But it's too hot. We've got to have it. And they finally said they'd let them come. Well, in a lot of the CEF teams, the wife often is a better teacher than the husband. Which is nothing wrong with that, especially relating to kids and so on. She was sweet. She's one of the sweetest ladies. Really neat. In fact, she died recently. I was shocked. For her funeral, she said, don't send flowers, but send donations to Jim Logan and his ministry. Which was so humbling, you know? I just like, oh wow, because I just love both her and her husband. Well, they said, why don't we try this Logan thing? and you know what he said here in Scripture about 2 and why don't we pray against the enemy activity and you stand in the back and do this. And when they started praying, he believing, you know believing prayer, not just saying words, but believing that God could bind the forces of darkness and Satan from distracting and stealing with these kids. It's not just the lessons they need to know, they have to connect, you know the connection was not coming. And when they did, it was quiet. People could not believe that these kids that, you know, and they have HD, HD, HD, and LMNOP and everything else you could have, you know, that are there, were listening and quiet. And many of them made decisions because they really were, you know, the demonic part wasn't going on with other kids. They said it was unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable. Okay, so there's two Navigator guys, college guys, characters. I've known them down through the years since this time, met them at Seattle. I said, hey, I wonder if that Logan thing is really true. You know, I mean, he's teaching from the Bible, but maybe he's stretching something here a little bit. And me, stretch something a little bit? God, I beg your pardon. So, anyway, they decide to go witnessing in Warrington, Missouri, and it's late at night. Well, the only thing that's open is what? A bar. So, they said, hey, let's go in there. You know, we used to hang out in these joints. Now that we're saved, we can go in there. So, they went in, and they're looking around for a candidate to witness to. And there was a guy there whose tattoos had tattoos. You know what I mean? I think there was skin under the color. And he's sitting there, and he's one of these excuse the pressure. Girls, you can put your hands over your head. Hells Angels, you could do that. Motorcycle thing, because his motorcycle is outside. I mean, about the roughest character you could pick. So they sit down on this table. and they're gonna do the navigator thing, you know, the bridge. You can draw it on a napkin, that's how I would say it, the navigator presentation of the gospel, that's how I found Christ, it's so simple. It's visual, you know, which side are you on? The cliff, you're on God's side or man's side and the chasm between. Well, anyway, they're trying to witness to this guy and so the guy that's doing the witnessing, he's the talker, the other guy's the prayer, this guy would go forward intensely and then he'd go back. Like a yo-yo. And the guy says, this is weird. You know, he's really intensely listening, and then he could care less. I mean, he didn't tell them to shut up or anything, or he was going to, you know, clean their clocks or something else, you know. And so he's doing this. Well, they go out and evaluate. What was going on? The guy says, well, it's my fault, the pro guy. He said, my favorite basketball team was playing basketball. And he'd look to see what was going on, and the guy would go, and he'd pray again, and he'd lean forward. But it proved to them it works. There was a difference when he was praying and not praying with the same character. You know, it doesn't mean he's going to accept Christ, but at least he heard. Then when you walk out, say, Lord, don't let Satan steal the seed. And don't think Satan can't do this, because if you counsel long enough, you're going to get some weird stuff. And I had this weird stuff. This kid was not weird. He's going to go to Moody. And he wanted to come to get his life really right with God before he went to Bible school. Makes a lot of sense. He's probably a 21, 22-year-old kid that showed up. And so I'm counseling him. And he is with it. You know, even taking some notes, writing some of the verses down, praying all the prayers, you know, really, it would be like one of you guys being there. You know what I mean? Just really, really wanting to get his life right. And Wednesday, we're at the end of Pride. We go much more than this. See, what Paul didn't go into, which I didn't think we ought to, gets more into the demonic and the aspect of Pride. I mean, there's enough here, really, that you can give too much to anorexic. I mean, you can go way into where, I mean, right now, whether a demon's involved or not, not the big issue. They're dying. They will die if they don't get this truth. So sometimes the whole load can be too much, especially if they don't even see the enemy involved in their stuff. Okay. I just thought to say this. This is crazy. If you get a nudge from the Lord, even though it's nuts, say it. There was no indication. You'll find that those you've met with me, where do I look when you meet with me? What am I always looking at? Your eyes. Always your eyes. The eyes show me if the enemy's involved. The eyes show me if he's clouding your mind. The eyes show me if you're keeping secrets. I won't force you, but I know you shut the door. I mean, and you say, well, teach us. I can't teach you. You just have to start counseling. That's the only way. Some of the stuff you learn is by counseling, because you see what this guy did. And then later on, you find out right there, he shut down and wasn't going to go there. Well, you find that out. You go, oh, that's that look. That was that eye flicker. That was that whatever. Well, anyway, there was none of that with this guy. So here I am. He's just ready to go. Three hours. He spent three hours of time with counselee. And he's going to leave. I said, wait a minute. Before you go, I need to ask a question. Well, sure. What? I said, who am I counseling? Well, that's pretty stupid, isn't it? You know, the guy's sitting there. Who am I counseling? Who are you counseling? and a voice spoke out of him and said, Logan, we thought we had you fooled. Well, they did. I had no indication this guy was that demonized that a demon could speak out of him. I prayed against it and then I found out that when he walked out of the room, he could not tell you what verse we read, what translation we read, what prayers he prayed, What we talked about at all? Nothing. He would go to church, he couldn't tell you what hymns they sang, what the pastor preached on. He could remember nothing when he walked out the door. And there was no indication of that in his life. Remember we said blind the mind to the truth? And steal the word? That was going on. I did not. I was shocked. So we already lost, what, nine hours. So we kind of fooled around the last two days. And then he came back. How would he be at Moody? He goes to the theology class, takes notes, nodding, all this stuff, walks out, and can't tell you what the subject was about. As soon as he got out of the door. You say, that's impossible. OK. All you got to do is spend some time with me, and maybe you'll get some worse ones than that. I mean, I'm not trying to glorify the enemy, but let me tell you, the worst thing you can do is underestimate the opponent. You're going to lose the basketball game. You're going to lose the volleyball game. We have one guy here that should not be allowed to play volleyball. I think he's been paid professionally to play volleyball, and he snuck into this school. Where is that professional volleyball player? He's a new kid. Are you at the training center? That's him. Do you notice how he serves the ball? It goes over the net one inch above. I serve the ball. It bounces off the moon and comes back. He has a slight advantage. So when you're choosing teams, choose him. I was watching, and I think he's praying the whole time, Lord, let me skunk him. Okay, so the idea is we've shared this, and you may, Paul used illustrations, but there's all kinds of illustrations you can use for each one of those verses in Proverbs. and you may want to try to lean them towards anorexic. If you can. If you can't, that's not. It's still God's Word. But see, when you get through, and I wouldn't go any further than this with an anorexic person, because basically what they're realizing is if they have pride in their life, they can never get victory over eating. Do you understand the connection now? Because God is resisting them. But then you have to hook up with rebellion, because rebellion is what? Against authority. Against parental authority. But if you're rebelling against parental authority, you're rebelling against the person who what? Set up the authority structure. Do you see? And so they go together. It's just like, you can't leave rebellion out, because that's where they are, and they don't see themselves as rebel. You know, look at my hair. I don't have tattoos. I don't have body piercings. I don't have this. I don't have that. They could, but I don't. So I'm not a rebel because that's my concept of rebel. But I am pushing away authorities. Well, when I push away authorities, God's going to push me away. That's a very strong... Well, just look up what resist means. Look it up in the Greek. Paul gave you three simple words. Not allowed to stay, enter, or remain. Shove away. Oh man, if God is shoving me away because of my pride, and yet I want God to sort of help me, but I don't want to deal with the issue? See, I really don't want lung cancer, but I don't want to give up smoking cigarettes. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Somehow there's got to be a connection here. And you need to, somewhere after this, before we go down a little bit more, and that is, do they understand? And you can say, do you see pride in your life? See, they say, oh yeah, I believe that, that was wonderful. I mean, they're Christians. But do they see where it is? You say, well, it's obvious. It is not obvious when you're deceived. Do you understand? It's not obvious. So, I mean, without being nasty or... If I'm nasty, it's for fun. I mean, I'm nasty with some of you guys here, okay? If I didn't like you, I wouldn't be nasty. I'd be like some of the teachers you've had in the past. They'd just stand up here and talk to you and no connection. Because I like you, I'll say stuff. I've earned it. And you guys have all committed not to hit an elderly man, so I'm gonna wave a lot of stuff. But see, we made the connection, but you don't realize when you're so, they have put on glasses. And those glasses are not allowing them to see clearly because this thing is such a grip on them. This is not a little problem. This is a life and death problem. And it's a big problem. And it's hard sometimes for them to see beyond, to really see this. But the entrance of the word, what gives light, focus on that light. Okay. Now, Paul is talking about the priorities of our life and he alluded to this and I stopped him. He would have done more with it, but I stopped him rather than getting into the warfare stuff and Jesus' temptation and all that stuff that we would normally do when it wasn't just one particular thing here. The... Remember he said, don't search your own heart. And there's a good reason not to, because that can lead you into the pits. Because in your heart dwells what? No, good thing. So you might as well agree with God and not go there. You know, because that's true. But the Holy Spirit knows, right now, where I am in my life, what I need to deal with. See, you cannot get rid of pride. You cannot get rid of it. You can get rid of a lot of stuff. You can throw away bad magazines. You can unplug the computer. You can do all kinds of, dump the pills. You can do all, but you can't get rid of self. The only way you get rid of self is suicide. And Paul alluded to that. When you wake up in the morning, what? See, when you wake up, me and me is going to be the problem today. So I can't get rid of me, but I need to know what part of me right now that God wants me to focus on. What is the negative part of me right now? Where I'm most vulnerable to the enemy. Okay, so God can make you aware of that, and he will not overwhelm me. If you're overwhelmed, the enemy is helping him. The enemy is really, he's the what other brethren? Accuser. So he'd like to bring up all kinds of stuff. Then you feel like, oh, you know, I might as well drop out of school. I'm a loser. I'm a real loser. Oh, we knew that when we brought you, so don't worry about it. You know what I'm saying? Hey, it's God in me. Isn't that the issue? It's not me in me. It's God in me. And so you're going to be vulnerable in one of two areas and they can differ. Or you can have one or two of those areas in your life. But basically you're gonna either be vulnerable to doing stuff. See? Satan will tempt you to do stuff. And the second one is the emphasis can be more in the emotional areas. Now, you do with feelings. You understand what I'm saying? But the emphasis is more to what? To do. Often, when the attacks are in the emotional areas, it keeps me from doing. You know what I mean? I get so emotionally down and so out of sorts and all of that emotional stuff that I don't know what I should be doing. So it can come both ways. But the third thing you've got to help, especially a bulimic or anorexic or whatever, is with thoughts. See, a guy who goes to X-rated bookstores, adult bookstores, He's better off than an anorexic person, because he's got to get in the car and drive there. He's got to go in there. An anorexic person walks in the store, and what is it full of? Food. And immediately, what comes to their mind? Calories. Do you see how easy for them to be tempted and to get back what were they doing for many years? very calorie aware, very fat content aware, very whatever. I'll tell you they know they're more health nuts than you have any idea. It's nothing wrong with eating healthy, but if I make healthy a god, I'm in trouble. I make calories a god. Do you understand? So they're going to have a terrible time. Because where can you go that there isn't food, and immediately I can be tempted? I don't see it as a temptation. I've always looked for calories. Well, all of a sudden, I'm sliding back into that whole lifestyle because it's so easy to go. Because when I'm tempted to do what I would do, I don't see I'm being tempted. Right? If you guys can get that one, you're going to graduate from school and I'll be happy. I don't care if you get nothing else out of school. But if you realize you're going to be tempted in areas where you're temptable, and when you're tempted, if you're not really sensitive, you don't see it as a temptation. I've always thought like that. I always feel like that. Every time I saw my dad, my stomach turned over. I was pastoring my second church. I'd been saved a long time. That's normal. If you had a dad like mine, your stomach would turn over too if you saw him. Very good Christian way of perceiving your father. I didn't make the connection. I couldn't understand it. It just happened. It just did. You know, you'll see them take a can and just turn it around. I mean, it's just so natural. I've done it for so long. And listen, I've got to take thoughts captive. Because if I don't take my thoughts captive, that the Word of God tells me to do, my thoughts will get me. Either I'm in control of them or they're going to control me. But for most of us, Satan works through thoughts, intruding thoughts, to pull us back or to get us for whatever, all that kind of thing. And see, someone else's failures can cause a chain reaction. When Noah is in the shower for hours, It can cause a lot of people to not bless him. You know what I'm saying? See, my actions can set a bunch up to fall. But they're responsible. Oh, if Noah would only change. And how we decided to help Noah is really good. The only bathing he can do is in the sink that is in his room. You know what I'm saying? It's just amazing how my doing what I want to do can set a chain of touching a lot of people in the wrong way because they're not responding right either. You know what I'm saying? So if we all want to do what we want to do, let me tell you, I don't want to be here. Right? They had no right to put those ugly things on the plate yesterday, those green things. That long green. Or whatever they are. They had no right to do that. It was sickening. And then we had that taco salad that someone chewed up first. Give me a break. Do you understand? You'd think the school was in Mexico. That's what you'd think. Do you understand? What did you think of that? I bet they got that out of the garbage pail. They're throwing away too much. They're giving it back to us again. But you know what I'm saying? I'm getting people on my side that we have too much Mexican food. And I don't like eating dinner that makes me sweat. You with me, guys? So I mean, that's one thing you want to know. You're saying, OK, Lord, what should I focus on? You're going to have to deal with pride as long as you wake up. And it's going to change. The issues are going to change. You know, I can remember when I wondered about the dating stuff. You know, what does it mean to be a Christian dater? Since all the dating I've done was as a non-Christian. That's not an issue anymore. You know what I mean? See, as you guys go through the seasons of life, there are very important issues you've got to deal with where pride can get you going the wrong way. Say, I wonder what I should do with my life. What do I do with my life? I should go out and buy a cemetery plot. That's what I need to do next. Do you understand? It's not like, where should I go and should I be a missionary? I mean, that's all done. But I was there. You're going to be there. This is a safe place. What are you going to do after you leave this place? Are you going to be the dog that goes back to his vomit? Are you going to be open to go beyond your comfort zone? Do you understand what I'm saying? And see, pride says no. I have a right to decide what I'm going to do when I leave IMI. Oh, do you really? No, you don't. You know, the only person, the only religious person that can hold on to a right is a Catholic because they get the last right. You see, I mean, it's a, if you think you're gonna win the battle over pride, let me tell you, that's a very prideful thought. It is. It's just something that I have to realize that every day. So, Paul brought it out. This is usually where we end. How do we get rid of pride? Jesus told us how. If any man will come after me, let him what? Say no to pride. Say no to self. take up his cross, and what's the cross? And a good book on the cross, we probably won't give it to you, but it's a good book if you want to have one on the cross of Christ. The newest one written is by Henry Blackaby and his son, The Cross of Christ. But it's not a thick book, but I can't remember that, you know, 100 pages or 120 pages, I can't remember that. So I've got to have it simple, and I'm supposed to do this. What is the cross? And I thought it's basically looking at Jesus talking and in the context and so on, I see the cross was God's will for Jesus' life. No to me and yes to God. That's what I see there. What did Jesus pray in the garden? Not my what, but thy will be done. That's not a bad prayer every morning. Am I going to do my will today or do I really want to do God's will today? At least as much as I know what God's will is today, for today. He said, I have to do that daily. I prayed about pride 20 years ago. I moved on. Sorry. You can move on a lot of stuff. I don't do drugs anymore and I don't kiss girls that do drugs. My girlfriend can't have more than three religious tattoos and get all these things. But pride is a daily thing. Jesus said that. Because if I don't deal with pride on a daily basis, I'm not going to follow him. Because he set up the terms. If a man will what? come after me, you've got to do this. So if I don't do this, I'm coming after myself. Well, there's a lot of religious people out there. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? Good. We'll take a break here in a minute. But see, that's the issue for bulimic and anorexic. They've got to see this. They've got to see this. They don't have a right to kill themselves. You have to yield that right to God. When it's time for them to go, they need to go. But up until that time, they have to see and remember the thoughts. And I think with anorexic people, that their attacks is going to be more thoughts in the emotional area, because the emotions keep them from doing. Because they feel this. They feel that. They are very feeling-oriented. They feel their fat. And truth will not set them free. Many of them get on scales. Many of them look in the mirror. And a lot of the girls, it's just ribs, you see. Skin pulled over ribs. They look like people from those death camps in Europe. that awful, but they don't see it. They see themselves as fat. It's a big, big deception. I mean, you think, how could you look in the mirror and see yourself as fat when you're a skeleton with skin over it? So do you have any questions? And then we'll take a break here at 10 o'clock. Anybody have any questions? But remember, this is not just anorexic, because pride is an issue under all sin. And one of the things where we have to struggle with, if you've been in church a lot, and that is, is this a church issue or is this a God issue? You know, is this a Bible issue, or is it our church issue? Am I making any sense here? Because a lot of churches, it's the pastor's convictions, or our denominational convictions. And then I begin to struggle. You know, is this what Ryan believes as my pastor, or is this God? I'm not saying they're wrong, but you understand? You've got to start sorting through. That is what's hard, sorting through. Is this something I was taught, or is this from the Bible? Because the Bible has principles that relate to our culture. But they didn't have cars. It didn't have TVs, but it does say, I'll set no wicked thing before my eyes in my house. That may help. You know what I'm saying? How do I deal with the now that goes way back 1,000 years ago and before that? the thing would be principles, right? I mean, there's a lot of thou shalt nots. We're not worrying about thou shalt nots. It's the idea of the application of biblical principles to my life now to achieve what I think God wants me to achieve in my life. And being sensitive of the Holy Spirit regardless of the culture. I cannot believe how Christians can go see vampires sucking blood out of people and think they had a really good evening and it was a wonderful movie. Even if they're not saved, or they're grieving the Holy Spirit so bad, they can't hear the Holy Spirit. You look at the blood sacrifice and all this stuff in the Old Testament, and it's abomination and all this stuff, and we're being entertained by it. And I'd hate to ask a church youth group, teenagers, how many went to see whatever that movie is? Or Harry Potter. Full of all kinds of occultic symbolisms, satanic worship. But if you don't know what it is, you don't know that that's what it is. But I'll tell you, Mrs. Rowlands knew what it was. I don't care what she says. Why did he cut off his right arm? Now because the right arm in satanic sacrifice is where Jesus is on the right hand of God. Do you understand the symbolism in Satan worship? Well we did because we had to be involved with people in Satan worship. Teenagers that were worshiping in covens and covens and people that were getting saved out of those covens with horrible stuff. I mean it was really bad at one time. Remember the Jars videos? Well, if you're going to pull down my warfare teaching, it's Jars. When I was at Jars teaching warfare, they stumbled onto a satanic altar on Jars ground with human bones all around it. They were sacrificing people alive on the grounds of this mission. Well, Jars is huge. They have a big airport and teach people to fly in the woods. I said, man, Logan, I said, I didn't bring it here. Those are bones that once had meat on them. Why the right arm? Why this? Why that? Those are all satanic symbolisms. We go and we see this and we think it's wonderful. It's entertainment, good Christian entertainment. Why? There wasn't any swearing. I don't know if there is swearing in Harry Potter. No immorality. Well, what's worse? I don't know. You know what I'm saying? Being poisoned with all kinds of satanic stuff, all whatever, and getting involved in occultic stuff, and magic powers, all this stuff. I mean, there seems to be no spiritual sensitivity amongst believers today, overall. I mean, they could just see things and everything, and it doesn't bother them. Is that a good sign? Is it a good sign you can see all kinds of evil, and all kinds of immorality, all kinds of occult activity, and all that stuff, and it doesn't bother you? Well, is the Holy Spirit so grieved you can't even sense it? Do you understand? I mean, I could see where the end times are going to get worse when believers are so desensitized. And you say anything. Well, I say things. Of course, you're old. What do you know? You're old. I don't know anything. I'm just old. But if you're young, you're squeaky. I bet it's your church. I bet you are one of them, whatever. You know what I'm saying? You want to really freak them out, you girls start wearing your mother's doilies off the couch on your head. You know, I'm going to move on. It's bad for you to wear that, but to wear a burqa, if you're Muslim, it's okay. You know what I mean? He's like, give me a break. I'm not saying you girls need doilies. Do you understand what I mean? It's so amazing that you can wear this thing, covers you all over, that's fine. But one little thing, you're a weird Christian, but not weird Muslims. Your wife is quite attractive. I'm sorry, but I'm just saying, where are we? And where are Christians that believe anything? And where are Christians that have any standards? And I don't mean church standards. I'm not talking about church standards. I'm talking about Bill Gothard standards. Do you understand? I'm not talking about standards other people have. Where are your standards? Have you searched the scriptures? Are you building your belief system on the word or an application of scripture? And I had to get rid of the TV. My wife wouldn't watch it. My kids stopped watching it. High school, junior high, grammar school. And then my preschooler wouldn't watch Sesame Street anymore. He'd run out of there. And I'm watching Bonanza. And I hated Sunday night church if people wanted to talk to me after church because I was going to miss part of Bonanza. I wish we had service a little earlier. So I'm sitting watching TV by myself because my family will not watch it. Bonanza is not necessarily evil, wicked. Lucy is not necessarily the most vile thing you could watch. My family wouldn't watch it because they felt that some of the commercials were not right. These are my kids. Why did I teach them the Bible? They're ruining my life. We talk about conviction. I mean, really, conviction. It's like, ugh. And finally, I had to get rid of it. And what got me was that verse in Psalms. I'll set before my eyes no wicked thing in my house. I'll put it in the garage. But you understand, because you're going to what? There's going to be connections between some of the principles God set in scripture to your life and where you are. And if God is saying that others may and you may not, go with the Holy Spirit. You start desensitizing your spirit and your sensitivity to God, where are you going to end up? Of this pastor that Paul talked about in pornography, what was it? How many years? 45 years involved in a cult activity, involved in all kinds of weird sexualness, and sees nothing wrong with it. Do you want to end up like that? That can tie you up in Scripture. You wouldn't want guys who wouldn't want to counsel him because he can do more with Scripture than you can. How could a person end up like that and know so much Bible? Remember Tim Warner worked with him. Tim Warner is a godly man. He's over any pastor in the free church getting a doctorate degree, so you're not a jerk. You know what I mean? If you're over the doctrinal program, and he's to see that these guys earn a doctorate degree, and he's counseling with this guy, and this guy's tying Tim in knots with the scripture. Wherever he went, he had controversies. You can end up like that. You could tell the Holy Spirit that's too squeaky. I think you'll handle that. But when you say no to the Spirit of God, and you know it's the Spirit of God, you're headed for a tragic crash. I'm not trying to scare you guys. Come on. I'm just saying, be real. Some of our students have left here and crashed. And crashed bad. Not a little crash, but a big one. And they know a lot. Homeschooled. Gone to this place for three years. You know, did all the theology papers. You know, did their, whatever, the whole commentary in the Bible. Read all these really neat books that we try to give you that we think really are super, some of the best of the best, you know, that we know of out there. And they still crash because they stopped. The personal part of it. Information will never make you spiritual. Look at all the brilliant people going to hell. Talk to some of the brilliant professors at universities. I mean, brilliant. You sit there with a dictionary to try to figure out what he's saying. I know a lot of brilliant people. Overwhelmingly brilliant. I know some real brilliant Christian people. Wonderful. Wonderful. And I'm glad. I'm not brilliant, but I'm glad to be around brilliant people that are using it for the kingdom and for glory. You know, what's his name? The guy up at in Minneapolis or up in that area. Huh? Roger Magnuson? No, not Roger. Not that Roger isn't brilliant. No, I'm thinking of in the Christian realm, but, you know, wrote these books. I mean, I read his theology book. John Piper? Yeah, those guys, Piper, other guys. Let me tell you, they're nobody's dummy. Another one is Nobody's Damaged John MacArthur. He would be on the other side of where Piper and these guys are. And I forget all these guys. But we'd go to a university and could debate any professor on any areas. Some of these guys, these Christians that are scientists, that debated for what's that big company that has the museum. Remember we had some of their stuff here? Yeah, the Genesis people and that. Let me tell you, those guys are no slouches. And I love to see brilliant people who have that brilliancy under the control of God. It's wonderful. But the hard thing is, when you are brilliant, is to be simple enough to understand Scripture rather than complicate it. Anyway, just ask the Lord today, is there a area that he'd like you to begin to focus on? Because unless I know I have it, I won't focus on it. Do you understand? See, Satan will overwhelm you, but one, you won't want to overwhelm me. You know, maybe you have a critical spirit. or maybe not critical, but more of, you owe me. You know, what Paul's talking about, not having a grateful spirit, not expressing gratefulness and thankfulness and things like that, or whatever. You know, and you work on one thing, you get the whole life to work on pride, you know, so work on this one aspect, and then go on and work on another aspect of pride, and another aspect, and another aspect. So your whole life, Because God says he will what? Perfect that which concerns me. You saw Philippians said he is working in me. Remember? Paul read that in Philippians 1.6. He is working in me. But am I cooperating? Am I listening? See, am I willing to let God just put his finger on his agenda, not mine?
