Well, I got a thought from Malachi I'm gonna preach on tonight in the first chapter. And while you're turning there, let me say to you that our Heavenly Father can give compliments. In fact, I preached one time, I could tell you the date, from 2 Timothy 1.12, 721.19, about God's greatest compliment. And that was where Paul said to Timothy, let me just read to you what he said. I thank Christ Jesus, our Lord, who hath enabled me for that he counted me faithful. Wasn't that a compliment for God to say this man's faithful? And that would be one of the greatest things the Lord could ever say to you. We're looking one day to hear him say, enter in thou good and. faithful servant. So the Lord can give compliments, and that's certainly one of his greatest compliments. He complimented Abel in Genesis chapter four, verse four, when Abel brought, the Word of God says that Abel brought of the firstlings of the flock and of the fat thereof. And it goes on to say that unto Abel, the Lord had respect. Well, that's a compliment, isn't it? That God would respect a man in his sacrifice. So that was quite a compliment. Abraham is paid a huge compliment in Genesis 18, 19 when the Lord said, shall I hide from Abraham that thing that I do when he's fixing to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? He said, for I know him that he will command his household after him to keep the way of justice and judgment there. So that was a big compliment to Abraham. The Lord made a great compliment to Moses in Numbers chapter 12 when Miriam and Aaron were kind of thinking that they were just equal to Moses. And the Lord said, no. He said, Moses was the meekest. The Word of God tells us that Moses was the meekest man on the face of the earth. And the Lord went on to say that, you know, I don't talk to you guys like I talk to Moses. I talk to Moses, mouth to mouth, face to face. What a compliment that was. And then Ezekiel 14, 14, the Lord said, he's talking about destroying Jerusalem. And he said, even though if Noah and Daniel and Job, were in that city, I'd still destroy it. So that's a big compliment to those guys. And then you got Jesus Christ in John 1 47 saying of Nathanael, behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no God. So those, I'm just telling you, the Lord knows how to give compliments, amen? And that one of being faithful is definitely a great compliment. Joel Hemphill, I guess, was the one who wrote the song a few years ago. You've heard it sung. The sweetest words he ever said were, I forgive. And certainly those were great words that the Lord would give to us. But what I wanna preach about tonight is perhaps the Lord's most hurtful criticism. Criticism. Now, I don't want you to think the Lord is a critic. But faithful are the wounds of a friend, the Bible says. And the Lord sometimes does put his finger on things in our life and he shows us things and he points things out to us. And he is capable of criticizing. And I wanna preach about the Lord's most cutting criticism tonight from Malachi. Before I get there, Lord, let me say the worst thing that God could ever say to anybody is depart from me, you workers of iniquity. I know you're not. I thought of this afternoon, the first revival I ever held, I preached one night during that revival, and I read from that verse, and literally when God says, depart from me, you workers of iniquity, literally God's saying, go to hell. That's not in a cursing, demeaning way, but you know that's what it means. And that would be the most awful thing that anybody could ever hear. And I just wanna say tonight for, I preached into the church tonight, but if you're here tonight and you're not saved, wouldn't it be so bad to hear God tell you, depart from me, you worker of iniquity. But it doesn't have to be that way, you can be saved. But I wanna preach about the Lord's, greatest criticism that you and I could hear, and I hope we don't hear it, but it's found in Malachi chapter one. Would you stand with me tonight? We'll start in verse six. Malachi chapter one, verse six, the Lord is speaking here. He said, a son on earth, his father and a servant, his master. If I then be a father, where is mine honor? "'If I be a master, where is my fear?' saith the Lord of hosts. "'And to you, O priests that despise my name.' "'And you say, where in have we despised thy name?' Now notice he's talking to the priest, okay? And 2 Peter 2, 9 tells us that we are a royal priesthood, amen? Actually, that's 1 Peter 2, 9. He goes on to say in verse seven, "'You offer polluted bread upon mine altar, "'and you say, where in have we polluted thee?' and that you say the table of the Lord is contemptible. And if you offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And if you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? Offer it now unto thy governor. Will he be pleased with thee or accept thy person, saith the Lord of hosts? And now I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us. This hath been by your means. Will he regard your persons, saith the Lord of hosts? Verse 10, who is there even among you that would shut the doors for naught? Neither do you kindle fire on mine altar for naught. And here it is, God says to the priest, I have no pleasure in you. Sayeth the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. Let's go Lord in prayer. Lord, I thank you God for your word and thank you God for the songs we've heard tonight and the testimonies. Thank you for this good crowd on a Wednesday night. And Lord, I thank you that you are a great God. And Lord, you're able to speak to our hearts tonight. God, I pray that we would see ourselves as you do tonight. Lord, I pray you'd speak to us, show us, God, take the light of your word and shine in the inward parts. Lord, reveal to us the things, God, that only you can show us, God, from the word of God tonight. I pray you'd bless and help through the service is my prayer. It's in Jesus' name I'm asking, amen. All right, you can be seated. Well, there it is. I think that would certainly be one of the worst things that anybody could hear God say, I have no pleasure in you. That's pretty cutting, is it? That's painful, I'll tell you. That hurts, it hurts me, as I read that earlier this week, that God would say to these priests, and they are priests, they're going through the motions, they're doing their job, if you will, of bringing the sacrifices, and they're there in the temple doing those things, but God is talking to them about the way they're doing these things, and he's simply saying to them there, he's saying, I have no pleasure, zilch, zero, I have no pleasure in you. Can you imagine God saying that to you? Now, tonight, I say to you that the Lord clothes us and He feeds us. If you're saved, He saved you. He's given us a Bible, He's given us a church, He's given us His Spirit, He's given us blessings, given you a house, job, car, you name it, friends. Wouldn't it be bad for God to say to us tonight, you bring me no pleasure whatsoever? That would be bad, that would be bad. But that's what I'm preaching about tonight. And to preach on it, we've got to consider that. How much pleasure have you brought him today? How much pleasure have you brought the Lord today? I want to preach tonight about how to bring God pleasure. Now you may be here and I know this is a Wednesday night and I appreciate you coming in the midweek service. and you may be checking your box tonight, well, midweek service, check, I've got that done. Well, that's what the priests were doing. They're just checking the box. I pay my tithes, I read my Bible, I pray. But he tells them there in verse number seven that they have polluted his altar, and he says that you say the table of the Lord is contemptible. They're doing what they're supposed to be doing, but they're doing it grudgingly. Is that the way you go to church? Do you go to church because you feel like you have to? Do you give because you feel like you have to? Do you give grudgingly? The Bible tells us not to. The Lord loveth the cheerful giver. Do you read your Bible grudgingly? Well, I've got to read my Bible. Do you check the box and say, okay, I read my Bible and get nothing out of it? Would God see you tonight and say, you're here, yes, you're here, but did you come because you love me and you wanna worship me and because you wanna lift me up, or are you just here because you came? Well, you're like the priests were then. And the Lord says to these priests, he says, I have no pleasure. Yeah, you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, but you're not doing it with the right spirit. Somebody requested prayer for Sister Louise, and I generally on Tuesdays, Tuesday afternoon, I go by and see Sister Louise. And I went by and saw her yesterday, and as I mentioned during prayer request, she's doing better there at Life Care than she has been. And she told me, I told her, I said, this Saturday is our day to have service here, and she got excited. Sister Louise has one of our church directories, got everybody's picture in it. And she said, Sundays, on Sundays, she said, I just get my book out with everybody's picture and I lay it on my chest and hold it. And she said, I look at everybody's picture and I pray for them. Now, I'm gonna tell you something. Sister Louise wasn't here at church Sunday, but the Lord may have got more pleasure out of what she did than what you did if you were here. That's my point. You can do what you're supposed to do, but are you bringing God pleasure? As you're coming here tonight, for whatever reason, is it really bringing God pleasure? Did you have in your heart tonight, when you left the house, I want to lift him up, I want to praise him, I want to sing with my heart, I want to bring honor and glory to him that saved my soul. Were you excited to come tonight, like the psalmist said, when he said, I was glad when they said it to me, let us go into the house of the Lord, or did you just show up tonight? He said to the priest, you don't bring me any pleasure, no pleasure whatsoever. What do you give your best? That's what he talked to the priest about there in verse eight. He said, if you offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? The lame and the sick, is it not evil? He said, you wouldn't offer it to the governor, why are you gonna give it to me? Are you giving the Lord your best? Do you give Him prime time when you pray, or do you wait till you're falling asleep to pray? I hope you didn't, you're wasting your time, but I don't know how long the debate lasted last night. Were you glued to the debate, but not glued to the Word? Would the Lord say to you tonight, you don't bring me any pleasure? you're doing the right things, you're going to church, you got your Bible, you got a Bible, you read it, yeah, you pray, you go through the motions, but you really don't love me like you're supposed to. And you're giving your best to the world, you're giving the best to something else, and you're not giving your best to me? You don't bring me any pleasure. Verse 10, he said there, he said, who is there even among you that would shut the doors for naught? Neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for naught. What he's telling the priest here, he says, you know, the priest got their portion of the sacrifices. There were certain things that the priest got. And the Bible says, muzzle not the mouth of the ox and tread not the court. A minister of the things of the gospel should receive of the things of the gospel, and that's bearing off an Old Testament passage, but the idea is here that the priests are doing what they're supposed to, but they're getting something. And God is saying, no, you're not doing it for me, you're doing it for you. You're going through the motions, and you're killing the fire, and you're opening the doors, and you're shutting the doors, but you're doing it because you get something out of it. You're not doing it for me. I don't have any pleasure in you. So God says to these priests in Malachi chapter one, you're going through the motions, your heart's not in it, you give better elsewhere and less to me than your best, and what you are doing is for you and it's not for me. I get no pleasure out of that. That's pretty cutting, isn't it? Let me give you a definition of please. I know you know what it means, To please someone means to bring satisfaction, enjoyment, or delight to. You know, God can experience pleasure. Did you know God can experience pleasure? And God can experience no pleasure. To bring satisfaction, enjoyment, or delight to. Remember twice, actually three times, but definitely twice, when in Matthew 3, 17, after the baptism of Jesus, the Father's in heaven and Jesus is coming up straight out of the water, and there's a voice from heaven that says, this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. And then on the Mount of Transfiguration where Jesus has spent some time with Moses and Elijah talking about his death that he should accomplish, In Jerusalem, a voice came from heaven again saying, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. I'm well pleased in my son. You know, he could probably say the same thing about us if we were well pleasing to him. I wonder tonight, could you and I find a greater purpose in life than pleasing God? could we find something more noble, more fulfilling than just pleasing God? I don't think so. I don't think there's anything you could ever accomplish in life that would be any greater, any higher than bringing pleasure to your creator. The Bible says in Revelation chapter four, verse 11, thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and praise, for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure. They are and were created. You were created for his pleasure. And if you were created for his pleasure, if he would look down out of heaven and say to you or I tonight, you give me no pleasure. Boy, that would hurt. Because that's our very purpose in life is to bring him pleasure. That's why he made us, that's why he created us. That's why he given you everything you've got. So you can give him pleasure. But these priests are just going through the motions. Paul told the Thessalonian church in 1 Thessalonians chapter four, first verse, he said, furthermore, then we beseech you brethren and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us, how you ought to walk and to please God. So he tells the Thessalonian church, man, you just need to be pleasing God. You need to please God. That's what you need to do. You need to please him. Hebrews 13, the Hebrew writer said in chapter 13, verse number 20, He said, now the God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. So the picture here is that the Lord is just, the things God is doing in your life, they're not, they're not to, because you're something special, It's because he's something special. And God's working in your life and he's working in my life and he works in the church so he can get pleasure, not so you can get pleasure. It's not about you, it's not about us, it's about him. Are you bringing him pleasure? Could there be a greater honor than to bring pleasure to the God of the universe? Super Bowl ring. World Series? No. National Championship? No. Cook-off at family camp? The greatest honor would just be to bring Him pleasure. Think about it, think about it. So what's it gonna take to bring the Lord pleasure? Turn with me to Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews chapter 11. How to please God. You can't do anything greater, Christian. You can't do anything better, Christian. You can't receive a greater honor, Christian, than to bring Him pleasure. Here's how you can do it. Let's start in Hebrews 11, verse six. But without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Well, that's a good place to start, isn't it? If you're gonna please God, you're gonna have to have faith. Now, I understand that by grace we're saved through faith, and that not of ourselves is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. And that's the starting place. We're saved by trusting the Lord Jesus Christ, but that's not the end of our faith. We walk by faith and not by sight. It pleases God when you trust him. But listen to this. especially in the hard times. If you wanna bring God pleasure, anybody can trust God when things are going good. Anybody can say I'm trusting God when their pocket's full of money. Anybody can say I'm trusting God when they got good health, but when you don't have good health. Can you say what Job said, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him? Boy, it sure does please him when you just trust him. It pleases Him when you trust Him, when it don't look like there's no way out. That's what pleases the Lord. Is it really even trust when you trust Him when things are going good? Probably not. I think that's kind of like the priest where we read about Malachi chapter 1. Without faith, it's impossible to please Him. You know what I'm afraid? I'm afraid in this election year, I'm afraid too many Christians has got their faith in a political party. I was reminded this evening on the way to church, I think it was Brother Brent Logan preaching for us back in February, I guess it was. He said, what are they gonna do, nuke heaven? Y'all remember that? I can't remember exactly how he said it. It was a lot better than I just said it, I'll tell you that. Folks, we can trust God. I started to say, if your man don't win, but you know, they're not both me and running. If your candidate don't win, can you trust God anyway? Folks, it's not gonna be the end of the world. I'm not trying to soften the blow, okay? I hope it don't happen. Hope it don't happen. But if it does, my God's in control. My God's in control. He hangeth the earth upon nothing. He telleth the number of the stars. He calleth them all by their names. My trust is not in, Donald Trump ain't the last Trump. One of these days, the last Trump's gonna sound, and it won't be Donald. Do you trust him more than the bank, or the economy, or your health, or your job? Have you ever wondered why the Lord showed up in the fiery furnace in Daniel chapter three? I think it's Daniel chapter three. You know, the Lord don't always show up like he did in Daniel chapter three, but he showed up. Nebuchadnezzar said, how many guys was there we throwed in there? Right? He asked the question, how many was there? They said it was three. He said, man, yeah, there's four in there. And there's something special about that one guy. He looks like Son of God. Why did the Lord show up? You know what they said to Nebuchadnezzar? They said, our God whom we serve, He's able, but even if He don't deliver us, we're gonna trust Him anyway. We're gonna trust Him anyway. Even if we die in that fiery furnace, we're still trusting Him. Do you trust Him like that? Or you just trust Him when He answers your prayers? Boy, have you caught yourself? I've caught myself. You're talking to somebody and somebody says something about something the Lord has done and praise the Lord, we can praise Him. And somebody says, boy, God sure is good. Can't you say God's good when He don't do what you want Him to do? When something bad happens, can't you say God sure is good? Do you really trust Him? You cannot please God if you don't trust Him. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. You're still in Hebrews 11. I wanna point another verse out to you. Let me ask you tonight, what's your testimony? Now your testimony is not, your real testimony is not what you say, it's what other people say about you. Look at verse five. Hebrews 11, five, by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death and was not found. because God had translated him. For before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God. Do you like things that please you? Tricia made a big batch of oatmeal cookies Monday. I thought it was huge. I thought, man, ain't just three of us in this house now. This looks like she used to fix what all of us was here. We sat down to eat supper that night, and I said, any of them cookies left? She said, a little player. I said, there's three left. I said, what? How many of you in Karen eat? You know what? Those things bring me pleasure. They bring me pleasure. They do. Wouldn't you like to bring God pleasure like that? Wouldn't you like to bring Him pleasure? Wouldn't it be awful if God looked at you tonight? I wonder how many churches tonight are gathered on a Wednesday night service. Maybe hours, I don't know, but God looking down saying, I don't get no pleasure out of that. Yeah, they're singing, but they ain't singing for me. They're just going through the motions. Some of them went to see their boyfriend or girlfriend. Some of them went to see their friends. Some of them went because they had to. Some of them went because they didn't want to hurt their reputation. Some of them went because they had to, because their parents made them. Yeah, I don't get no pleasure out of that. Nobody really came for me. Well, if you're going to please God, you're going to have to have some faith. Go with me to Psalm 147. Psalm 147. Pleasing God. First, we're gonna have to have faith. Then we find over in Psalm 147, something else about pleasing God. Psalm 147, verse number four. Let's read several verses here. I've already quoted, tried to quote a part of this. Psalm 147, verse four, he telleth the number of the stars. You know who he is here? Well, it kind of narrows it down when it says he telleth the number of the stars. He telleth the number of the stars. He calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord and of great power. His understanding is infinite. The Lord lifteth up the meek. He casteth the wicked down to the ground. Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving. Sing praise upon the harp unto our God, who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. He giveth to the beasts his food, and to the young ravens which cry, listen, he delighteth not in the strength of the horse. He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord taketh pleasure and them that fear Him, and those that hope in His mercy. Let me tell you something, God is, we got different fans here tonight of different teams, and that's okay, we have a good time about it. I just want us to all be a Jesus fan, amen? And I like to see somebody on my team run for a touchdown and run off and leave everybody else. I like to see somebody on my team run back and throw the ball so far But God's not watching the ball game and saying, man, he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. I don't care how fast you run the mile or the hundred yard dash or the hundred meter or anything else, that doesn't please God. That's not what pleases God. What pleases God? We see faith is the starting place here, but then the Bible says, the Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him and those that hope in his mercy. Do you really fear God? Do you really fear God? Have you read your Bible today? Have you earnestly prayed for this service tonight? Have you witnessed anybody this week? Have your prayers been enough to keep somebody out of hell this week? Have your prayers been enough to bring somebody to the Lord Jesus Christ this week? Now I understand that there's more involved than just our prayers, but I'm afraid we don't fear Him near as much as we think we do. Do you fear the Lord enough to say no to temptation? Do you fear the Lord enough to say no to temptation? Did you today, when you were tempted, did you fear Him enough to say, no, no, I fear God? You remember when Joseph was there and he was tempted by Potiphar's wife? He didn't say, no, I tell you, Potiphar's been good to me. I can't do this. I can't do, oh, Potiphar, like that. No, he said, how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? Joseph feared God. That's how he was able to say no to temptation. How much you fear God? Well, that's what pleases Him. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. And then I say to you tonight, that if you don't fear God, you can't please God. You're not gonna please God if you don't fear God. Here's the biggest one tonight. Go with me to Romans chapter 15, Romans 15. This is the last one. Just three things about pleasing God. Last one's in Romans 1, it's where I'm gonna spend the most time probably tonight. Romans chapter 15, I don't know what I told you, but Romans 15 verse 1. If you're gonna please God, you're gonna have to have your faith in Him and trust Him. You're gonna have to fear Him. And then number three tonight is this. You gotta quit trying to please yourself. You gotta quit trying to please yourself. Romans 15, one, we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. Look at verse three now. For even Christ pleased not himself. I'm just gonna stop right there on that verse. Christ pleased not himself. That's why the father looks out of heaven and said, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Because he's pleasing God, he's not pleasing himself. That's why in the garden he said, Lord, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me, nevertheless not my will, but thine be done. If you're gonna please God, you gotta quit pleasing yourself. Or quit seeking to please yourself, let me put it that way. Who do you normally try to please? Who do you try to please with your eating habits? Who do you try to please with your sleeping habits? When it comes to entertainment, who are you trying to please with entertainment? Who do you try to please when you spend money? Who do you try to please when you have a little time and you say, what am I going to do? Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 2.4, he said, no man that woreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life that he may please him who hath called him to be a soldier. In other words, Paul's telling Timothy there, he said, listen, you ain't gonna do nothing for God if you're just trying to please yourself. If you're gonna do something for God, you're gonna have to try to please Him. You're not gonna be warring, you're not gonna be in the battle when you're just trying to please yourself. But if you'll please yourself, You'll do something great. If you'll please him, you'll do something great for him. Go with me. I've got two more places I want you to turn. 1 Kings chapter five, chapter three, I'm sorry. 1 Kings chapter three. I want you to see some stuff tonight from God's word. 1 Kings chapter three. We're talking about pleasing God. Greatest honor, greatest achievement in your life would just be to bring pleasure to God. You know how we accomplish so little for the Lord? because we're not trying to please him, we're trying to please ourselves. 1 Kings 3, look at verse 5. In Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night and God said, ask what I shall give thee. Now you already know what's fixing to happen, but let's read it anyway. And Solomon said, there I showed unto thy servant David my father, great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth. and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with thee. And thou hast kept for him this great kindness that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne as it is this day. And now, O Lord, my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David, my father. And I am but a little child. I know not how to go out or come in. "'and thy servant is in the midst of thy people, "'which thou hast chosen a great people "'and cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. "'Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart "'to judge thy people, "'that I may discern between good and bad, "'for who is able to judge this so great a people.'" Listen to this, "'And the speech pleased the Lord.'" That Solomon had asked this thing. Why did that please the Lord? Well, he tells us, God said to him, "'Because thou hast asked this thing "'and hast not asked for thyself, Long life. Neither hast thou asked riches for thyself, nor hast thou asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thy self-understanding to discern judgment. Behold, I have done according to thy words. Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart, so that there was none like thee before thee, neither shall there arise any after like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. How did Solomon please God? By not trying to please himself. Now, I want to show you something. We go into Isaiah now. Isaiah. How much does it please God when you seek to please yourself? Or when you cease to please yourself? That's what I want to say. How much pleasure does God get when you stop trying to please yourself and you just want to please Him? Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53. Let's just go ahead and read it all. We're going to get down to one verse here in a minute. You'll know when we get there. Who hath believed our report, Isaiah 53, 1, and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he, that's talking about Jesus Christ, of course, shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of a dry ground. He hath no form nor comeliness. And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid as it were our faces from him. He was despised and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we did esteem him strict and smitten of God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before his shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth." Now remember this is when he said, this is my beloved son whom I'm well pleased. That's who we're reading about. Verse eight, he was taken from prison and from judgment and who shall declare his generation for he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Now look at verse 10, yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him. He hath put him to grief. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he hath poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the transgressors, and he bear the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Now, who was Jesus Christ trying to please? The Father. Did he bring the Father pleasure? Yeah. And you know what the Lord's gonna do? One of these days, every knee's gonna bow. Every tongue is going to confess. Wouldn't it be something to see Muhammad bow and say, Jesus is Lord? And Buddha? And Satan? So because Jesus Christ didn't seek to please himself, but he sought to please the Lord, God was pleased, and now He's honoring the Son, and He's gonna continue to honor the Son throughout all of eternity. Well, I'm not, I don't wanna sound like a crybaby, but I've had a difficult week, and it's just been a frustrating week. I've gotten behind in my Bible reading, I've gotten, because of some things, I've got my prayers. I've not spent as much time praying because I haven't had as much time. I've been rushed more than a little, more than usual, and behind on lots of things. And I felt like this week had been almost a waste for me, I'll just be honest, until today. when I was studying this for once in my life, the Lord said, I'm pleased with what you've done this week. And you know what? It blessed me so that I decided I want to try to please him next week too. And I want to close with this tonight and we'll ask Sister Gloria to become the piano tonight. Who is more pleased with you this week? You or him? Who is more pleased with your Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday so far? Is he more pleased than you are? Or are you more pleased than he is? Would God look out of heaven tonight and look at you or me or our church and say, no pleasure, no pleasure. Let's stand tonight.
