Go to verse 8 and 9, it's all the same if you're able to. Look at 1 Corinthians 3, verse 8 and 9. We'll read two verses, we'll pray, and we'll ask our God for his help. Good to see so many in the house of the Lord today. Watch what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3 and verse number 8. The Bible says, Paul says, the church. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one. And every man shall receive his own reward, watch it now, according to his own, what? Labor. The Bible says, for we are laborers together with God. Ye have God's husbandry, ye have God's building. And I want to talk this morning with a simple little thought. Co-laborers, not competitors. Let me say that again. Co-laborers, not competitors. Let's pray. Father, we ask for your help this morning. And I do pray, God, as we dive into the Word of God and we see how we are to be co-laborers together. We're not to compete against one another, but we're to serve you alongside of each other. I do ask God that your Holy Spirit will speak to our hearts. I pray God to warm our hearts. I pray God to challenge us in certain areas of our life that we need to be challenged in. Change us with change as necessary. I pray God to help that home that might be in disarray. Help that person whose mind may be just overwhelmed by the pressures of this life. I pray God to send peace in the midst of us all. Help somebody to be able to sing and shout, amen. I pray God to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. I bless those who are watching the services as well. I follow them on live streaming and Facebook. I pray God to speak to their hearts as well. God, help somebody that's struggling. And when it's all said and done, I pray God we leave this morning with excitement and with joy in our heart and our soul, just ready to serve Jesus. And with that, God, we'll thank you for giving us our sins and all of our shortcomings. Help us to die as hell and to live for the Savior. All right? That's it for now, Father. If I left anything out, meet that need as well. Of course, on your son's name, we do pray. Not a weak Jesus, but mighty Jesus. Amen. Amen. Maybe you've seen it. Co-laborers, not competitors. And a lot of times in the Christian family, if we're not careful, we'll compete with one another. We'll compete with other brothers and sisters in Christ. For example, our good friend, Pastor Jerry Stepp, he passes the First Baptist Church in Chicago, which is probably a minute and a half, maybe two minutes from this spot. But he is a brother in Christ, he is a friend of ours, he is also a co-laborer of ours. We are working together, we are not competing against one another. When we were there in Black Oak, we had a brother, We had Brother Ray Tucker, we had Brother Bob Parnell right around the corner. All these are brothers and sisters in Christ and we're serving the same God. We've got the same Father and guess what? We're not competing but we're laboring together. By the way, when you come into the house of God, we have certain people that have certain jobs, certain things that they do in the body of Christ. But guess what? We are not battling against one another, but we are working with one another. We are not attacking each other. And you'll see in these verses that Paul is addressing this situation with the church. These are book-bought born-again believers that he's referring to. And when you think about laboring together, that worker means fellow worker. It means a companion in work, even on your secular jobs. Some of us, you're not careful, we're competing with the person that's sitting next to us. But we should be working together. We have certain ones here that work at the hospitals, and I'm sure they see the competitiveness there in the hospitals. Certain nurses may not help other nurses, but they could be helping them out. They might be sitting there just doing something else, but they could be helping them out, because that's not my job. Wait a minute. We are working together. Same thing around here. We have Miss Bonnie and Bonnie Ann. They are the ones who primarily clean the church. But guess what? Just because they clean the church, if you see some paper on the floor, it don't mean the body's got it. No! Amen. Come on. We are all here together. Amen. You heard that amen over there? We're all working here together. Amen. Now, to be a competitor, it means to be a rival. The synonym is adversary, challenger, opposition, opponent. Wait a minute, in the body of Christ, we are not opponents. In the body of Christ, we are not adversaries. In the body of Christ, we are not competitors. In the body of Christ, we are co-laborers together. Now watch what Paul says that I believe will help us out in these verses. The first thing you want to see, those who are taking notes, the first thing you want to see is the togetherness. the togetherness. What you mean, preacher? Look at verse 8. Verse 8 says this. He says, now he that planteth and he that watereth are how many? One. I know this is deep math. It's one. Amen. That's what it is. But not only that, look at verse 9. In verse 9 it says this, for we are laborers, what? Together. Together. Notice he is talking about togetherness. We are working together. By the way, mom, dad, husband, wife, did you know that you are to be working Together in the home are working together in the family. It's not where you're in competition Well, which parent is the child will love the most, you know, I mean we got any competitiveness here It's not we should be working together Amen, but sometimes if we're not careful, we're fighting each other and we're not working together And he knows the Bible says here in the body of Christ We are one. Yeah We are one, and we are to be together. If you see another brother or sister, and they may have, we'll use the term here, a different label, or perhaps they might not be Baptists, perhaps they're Pentecostal, or perhaps they're Church of Christ, so amen. Wait a minute. They got the same daddy you got. Amen. And by the way, brothers and sisters, that means we are all a part of the family of God. The person that knows Jesus Christ as their Savior is your brother and sister in Christ. That's why we address each other, brother so-and-so, sister so-and-so. What we're saying is that we're in this thing together. And so Paul says right here, you got folks doing some things. He said, but listen, we are one. He goes on to say that we are laborers together. And that word laborers together, once again, means a fellow worker, a companion in work. But the second thing I want us to see, first we see the togetherness. The second thing is the task. The task. We're talking about preaching. Well, first of all, The tasks are different. What you mean? Your job description may be different in the body of Christ. Give me a verse. Sure. Look what the Bible says in verse six. Paul says, I have what? Planted. Planted. Opposed. Watered. Watered. One person's task, one person's job, was to plant. The other person's job, in this case, Apollos, was to water. They had different tasks, different job descriptions, but yet they worked together. And you may have a different task, a different assignment than someone else, but we are together. Let me get a verse on that. Go with me over to 1 Corinthians chapter number 12 and verse 13. First Corinthians 12 and look at verse number 13. Look what the Bible says, First Corinthians 12 and verse number 13. The Bible says, the word of God said, notice I'm talking about message, co-laborers, not competitors. The Bible said in verse 13, for by one spirit, For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one spirit. Here we go. For the body is not one member, but how many? Many. Many. Yep. Your body that you, that your spirit and soul is encased in right now has many members. And he used that as an illustration. Most of what he says, he says in verse number 14, but the body is not one member of many. If the foot shall say, because I'm not the hand, I'm not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? Just because it says that? He go on to say, and if the ear shall say, because I'm not the eye. I'm not the eye. I'm out of the body. Is it therefore not the body? If the whole body, man, Paul, holy God. Paul said if the whole body were an eye. Isn't humorous? Where were the hearing? If the whole body was an eye, how are you going to hear? He goes on to say in these verses, if the whole were hearing, was an ear, then what was the spelling? But now have God said, members, everyone in the body is a present. Now Moses says here, if the whole body is an eye, then how are you going to hear? Because the whole body is just an eyeball. It sees everything, but it hears nothing. Or if the whole body was an ear, it could hear stuff, but it couldn't smell nothing, it couldn't say nothing. So, you could never respond. But if all of them said, I ain't a part of the body, let's break it down. Well, I don't sing in the choir. I don't feel a part of the church. Just because you don't sing, and God didn't give you a gift to sing, doesn't mean you're not part of the body of the church. Well, I don't play instruments. Just because you can't play instruments, don't mean you're not qualified. Well, I mean, I want a job where I can be seen. I mean, for example, right now, you know, I might be the focal point at the moment because I'm preaching the Word of God. But I tell you what, if my mic goes off, then everything will be a focal point. It's going to be on my mic. Now, if there's no problems, he's back in the back. Nobody even know he's back there. But if something happens, he's hungry. Or the cameras go down. It's freezing up. The devil is alive. Listen, listen. Actually, I don't need the devil. We just got to get a stronger system. We're working on that. Okay, just calm down. But nonetheless, I've been in all this amount of work. I mean, the cleaning of the church, the church stays clean. Guess what? Nobody notices anything. But all of a sudden, if the trash cans didn't get emptied or the floors didn't get mopped, they wouldn't pack them. Like, who paid the tax? You know what? But you know what sometimes? The nurseries. The nursery. Right now, we have a nursery now, but you know what? When we don't have a nursery, we got a whole bunch of kids, they might be like, who is that? Anybody going to the nursery? But guess what? Nobody going to say nothing because then they say, well, they might ask me to. Listen, listen. But all these are jobs and these are part of a work of a church that make up a body of Christ and they all are important. Every single one. You name a job in the church and it's an important job. And by the way, we are once again co-laborers and we're not competitors. And the Bible says the task may be different. I don't like the task that I've been given. Well, I'm gonna tell you who to take it with. That leaves us on the task. You got the task of different. Under that, you've got this. The tasks are decided, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, by God. All right, let me give you a verse. Go with me back, back over to chapter number three. And look at verse number six. Chapter 3 and look at verse number 6. Look what the Bible says. Don't get mad at me now. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3 verse number 6, Paul says, I have planted Apollos' water, but God gave the increase. The Bible was on the say, wait a minute, I'm in the wrong place. Go back over to 1 Corinthians chapter 12, that's another part of my message. Now go back over to 1 Corinthians chapter 12, I jumped ahead of myself. I don't wanna do that. Look back over 1 Corinthians 12, and now drop down to verse number 18. There we go. 1 Corinthians 12, verse number 18. The Bible says, that was all those croissants I had this morning. The Bible says, in 1 Corinthians 12, 18, but now had God, what? set the members, every one of them in the body, as it pleased Him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now they're many members, yet but one body. The eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee. nor again the heads of the feet. I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are what? Necessary. Necessary. And the Bible says that God has placed these members in the body as he says. He says, as he sees fit. He places you in a place. I don't like buying that. Wait a minute. If you and I will focus on that task I was given, you and I would be amazed at how much more joy we would have in doing what God has called us to do. Amen. A lot of times, you've got people who are great singers who would love to play the instrument, but when they get on their end, it's like, ah, bruh, bruh. No, no, no, no. No, hey, hey, hey. No, no, no. Or a guy that can really play the instruments and just tear that thing up. Well, I want the same too. They start singing like, man, you should play. But you know what? Focus on that task, that assignment that God has given you. Some people are great at courage. But you know what? They're discouraged. Because they want to be doing something different. But if God's called you to be an encourager, man, be in that spot and be that encourager that God has called you to be. Because you know what? Not everybody has that gift of exhortation. Not everybody has that gift of encouragement. But whatever that task is, whatever that assignment is, we need to do the best that we can be for what God has called us to do is what God has placed us there for a purpose and for a reason. The tasks are decided by God. But not only that, watch this. The tasks are dependent. Every task is dependent, not independent. Now, now, this is gonna mess with somebody's head for a moment. But we are dependent on each other, and we are dependent on God. What you mean, preacher? Now go back, now go back with me. The first riff is chapter three, verse six. Paul said this, I have planted. Apollos did what? Water. Anybody that knows how garden works? If you plant seed in the ground and don't put no water on it, what's going to happen? Nothing. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. It has to be water. So therefore, even though Paul may have planted, it took Apollos to come by and water, and then watch this, and then it was God, brothers and sisters, that gave the increase. Paul said, man, look how I put that stuff out. And then Apollos, man, you saw how I watered that thing? Man, I would water that thing. Wait a minute, no. One plants, one water. In our case, it's like salvation. Most of the time, somebody gets saved in church. The person comes forward, they receive Christ. Listen, man, the preacher, man. Preacher, how many you get? Man, we had 10 get saved. Wow, that preacher over there, man, my soul. Wait a minute. Uh-huh. There was probably somebody on the job. There was somebody that was probably in that hole that was giving out that word of God. I might have been, on that day, somebody that watered. Remember, I didn't water. I didn't plant. I didn't do nothing. But folks come out of the isle and trust Christ as their savior. But that person that was on the job, right next to that person, and being a witness to them, being an example to them, what they were doing was planting seeds, planting seeds, planting seeds. Then somebody else would come by and they'd verify what was being said. And they're the ones that's watering that seed that's being planted. And of course, the seed is the word of God. What are you saying, brother? What I'm saying is this, we are all dependent on one another. It's just like the hand. If the mouth says to the hand, I don't need you. The head says, guess what? You ain't going to eat me. How you like that? And my mouth will just be talking all I want to. I don't care. I don't care. I may starve, but I still don't need you. I don't need you. Matter of fact, I don't. Where to play that? There it is. I can just, I'll eat up, then the next says, hold on a minute. I ain't moving. Mouth like, what you mean you ain't moving? You talking like that about the head. I like the hand. The hand rubs my neck. It massages me. I like the hand. So you know what? Until you apologize, I'm not going to help you now. All I'm going to have to do is look at the food. It can't reach down. If your feet can't help you, feet can't help you. I can grab some, but I can't get nowhere. I can't get to you. Well, maybe we can do something. Knee catcher, stop. Nope. I ain't moving. What are you saying, preacher? Every part. is important. Every part needs the other part. I know how we are. I mean, we like to walk around saying, I don't need nobody. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone lose a vote here. You got someone, I don't need no man. All right. You got some guy that's, I don't need no woman. All right. But if you got the gift, that's different. And the Bible does talk about a gift. Paul said it was a gift. You know, Paul didn't have a wife, and Paul said that was a gift. But if you ain't got that gift, brother, or sister, then guess what? You ain't got that gift. Now, you might have that attitude like that, but we all need one another. It's like the baby. The kid walk around and say, I don't need you, Mom. I don't need you, Daddy. Say, well, you know what? How you going to eat? How you going to get no? You ain't got your three years old. How you ain't going to get no job? I don't need you. Wait a minute. We all need. another. That's right. The body of Christ needs to work another. And we are co-laborers, we are not competitors. So what do you say, preacher? We see we're dependent on each other, and then we're also dependent on God. We need God's power and God's might. Go back with me to 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and verse 10. Because see, God gives the increase. It takes, we all do what we do, but it takes God to do the rest. For example, we had Jubilee. We had a for the brick car come in the car family without them that was touching our hearts our lives God use them as an instrument But it was God that was doing the work that was through them and the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 15 and in verse 10 The Bible says this Paul says this By the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace, which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain. But I labored more abundantly than they all. Oh, he's bossing with pride. He says, hold on a minute. Let me correct y'all now. Yeah, not I. Weren't me, y'all. But the grace of God, which was with me. Paul was quick to explain what he means by what he is saying. It takes God's grace. It's the grace of God that works through Paul that makes Paul what he is. So Paul doesn't pat himself on the back, but instead, Paul is giving all glory and honor to the God that worked through him to help many. What are you saying, preacher? We're dependent on each other, or we're dependent on God. And then we see something else. The third thing I want you to look at, last day, is not only the togetherness, the task, but also the terrific reward. Look back with me to verse 8, chapter 3 of 1 Corinthians. How many of y'all like rewards? I love rewards. Yesterday, Brother Brent, he had to coach football yesterday, and that's why he didn't make it out to the picnic. But that morning, he cooked 120 hamburgers and 168 hot dogs. Y'all should see that grill that boy got. I mean, that's a Cadillac. That thing, we couldn't bring it to the picnic because it weighs 200 pounds. If it weighs 200 pounds, you know that thing won't cook, man. But you know what? I mean, he cooked all that food. And when all that food was ready, I mean, I heard folks saying, man, them hot dogs, Well, what's the deal with the hot dogs? I mean, did you put some seasoning stuff on there, too? What'd you do? You just cook them? Oh, that's what I mean. I picked them up from the ballpark. But you know what, though? We working together. I picked them up from Sam's. I gave them to him. He cooked them. We got them there. We ate the hot dogs. We ate the hamburgers. And they're roasting them. They went to Big Daddy's. Big Daddy's. Let me say it again. Big Daddy's. And got some Big Daddy's rib chips. Didn't change. They ain't my big daddy. Who's big daddy? It's me. Man, she come out there and she got some ribs and she said, try them things. I tried her and I'm like, whoo, big daddy. He offered me a restaurant. I tell you what. But you know what? I was rewarded for eating that food. I ate that food, man. And I'm still eating all that stuff, man. But you know what? God also has rewards for us. Watch what the Bible says. Watch what it says. We've already passed over the base, we head to home plate. Notice the Bible says in verse 8, the Bible says, now he that planteth, 1 Corinthians 3 verse 8, now he that planteth, and he, the Bible says, that watereth are one. And every man shall receive, watch it, his own reward according to his own labor. Now, don't make no sound here, but if you was to actually get rewarded for the work you actually did on your job, would you actually be getting paid more or be paid less? Some people just go in and clock in, but now with the work they've disappeared. You're like, what song or something like that? I remember that time Billy, Billy walked in the, not there, not in here, but Billy walked in at the meal, and he told me one day, this one guy, couldn't find him, you remember this, they couldn't find that guy nowhere. They go back in the locker rooms, couldn't find him. But they could hear somebody snoring, remember that? They could hear somebody snoring, but they couldn't find him. And then they did find that guy. But you know what he did? Don't y'all do this. He took three locks, had locks, the real bad people did this. He took the side out and had a nice cot up in there. So all he had to do was get in there, close it, and that thing would stretch out and he'd take him a nap. Well, you know what? If he actually got paid for his work, he'd probably be unemployed. Listen, listen. The same with us, brothers and sisters. But see, God sees all, knows all. And he will reward us for our labor, for our work. Now, some people say, yeah, if that's how long we get to heaven, whoa, slow down, baby. There's a reward on this side as well. See, some people get upset with other people because they say, why are they always getting blessings? Why are they always getting this? Well, you're going to ask yourself a question. I mean, are you doing what you're supposed to do? I ain't saying you're doing what they're supposed to do. Are you doing what you're supposed to be doing? Come on. Because if you ain't doing what you're supposed to be doing, don't you expect God's, I'm just going to pour this out on you, and you ain't no good, and I'm going to give you some stuff. No! When you say, you know what, I need to get your attention. I gave you a task, I gave you an assignment, I need you to be about your father's business. There's some people, they just seem like, they just seem like they're walking, no, come over here. It's almost like they're walking, why don't you stand right here? You stand right here, and then you stand in front of me. It's almost like, turn around this way. It's almost like, you gotta turn around this way toward me, look at me. I'm going to go here. It's all right. We can beat you down pretty bad. This ain't basketball. All right, OK. And like some people, when they walk into a room, it's like people just draw to them. They draw to them. Step forward. And it's like, man, who do they think they are? They just walk in the room. It's like people just draw to them. And there's some people, except I just When they walk into a room, it seems like everybody goes in a different direction. It's like, man, what's going on here? It could be a number of things, but one reason could be this. What kind of aurora are you putting on? What kind of scent? are you putting on? Because if we all have sense, and I said, dogs can smell it. Because dogs, they can smell, seriously, they can smell fear, they can smell all that stuff. But sometimes we give off, sometimes we have arrogance in coming in. Look at those, man, they just, ah. There's something, they just come in there, they just, they just like, you know, I mean, it's like, you know, hey, man, you just draw a little bit of, come on, y'all come on in here, come on in here. They just draw, say, hey, what's up, man? But man, I don't know, man. Yeah, let me ask y'all a question. Have y'all ever met somebody And you just say, man, I just like them. I don't know why, but I just like them. You know? And then some people, as my grandmothers would tell two-timed devils, listen, but then some people's like, man, I just don't like them. I don't know what it is about that person, but I just don't, and they've never done anything to me. I'm not trying to be mean to them. But if there's something about that person, I just don't like them. I don't know what it is. What is a preacher? I don't know. But it's just something. But you know what? Whatever it is that you might be causing a person to be repelled from you, they ain't asked that. Isn't it? Don't get mad at me. But it's okay. People get mad at me all the time. But some people say, man, I just want friends. You can have friends. But you gotta show yourself what? The Bible says, show yourself friendly. What kind of friend are you? You know, y'all can see. Some people, can I dig a little bit where we live at? Some people make a post. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, whatever. They go, ain't nobody commenting on mine. I'm gonna check out Billy. You can get everybody on his stuff. What? I don't understand. Number one. I've got one second. But number one, what was your purpose? But let me ask you, do you comment? Do you like? There's some people that want you to like their stuff, but they never come back and like your stuff. They never come by and say, love, care. What's the other one we got? Right? What's the other one? Angry. Angry. But they never say anything to anybody else. If you're going to get mad at somebody, it doesn't make any sense if you're going to get mad at somebody. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. As a person, I think it is doing to others more than others doing to you. I think that's what it says. Listen. Listen. But that should not be our motive anymore. If your motive is to just put something out there and encourage somebody, put something out there and encourage somebody. Don't put something out there and say, okay, let me see how I can, ain't nobody responding, okay, let me tweak this. That's your motive, ah! You also, you got your reward. Listen, when we get to seeking rewards and longing for rewards, it's amazing how rewards seem to escape us. But what do you say to the country? Number one, we should be working together. Number two, realizing we all have a task or an assignment that God has given us. But then also realizing this, that God will give us reward for the work that we do. Let me be one more verse from that. So, he gives us this promise. He says here, according to your own labor, but then he also gives us a precaution. Look at verse number 10. The Bible says, according to the grace of God which is given unto me, that's 1 Corinthians 3 verse 10, according to the grace of God which is given unto me as a wise master builder, he says, I have laid the foundation and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than is laid, which is who? Jesus Christ. What's the foundation that you're building on? If that foundation is Jesus, you're building on the right foundation. But also, be very careful how you build. Because you may have the right foundation, but how are you building it? How, I'm gonna use a building as an example, how are you building the walls? How are you building the ceiling? What are you using to build it with? Because you know what, there was three creatures called the Three Little Pigs. One made straw, one made, what was it? Six, and one made bricks. And when the wolf came by, And huff and puff, the straw came down, the wood came down, but when they got in that guy who built the brick, guess what? That joker huffed and puffed and could not blow that house down. Why? Because not only was it on the good foundation, but it was caused by what was used to build that house. Folks, we got to make sure we're building and using the right materials that we need to use. And those materials will be materials that God will give us. And use those materials. Because guess what? Those have been verified. They have been, it's not USDA, that's food. I don't know what they do for the builder certified or whoever that is. Some of y'all don't know what I'm talking about. The inspectors have checked it out, it's all good and so. Who, who? Got to pass the code. Listen, but when you're building with the right materials, then things will last. You want your marriage to last? What are you building it on? You want your marriage to last? How are you constructing it? If you want that thing to last, remember my wife and I have been married now for 30, uh, one, two, bunch of years. But you know what? Built on Christ. Y'all ever had discrimination? But you know what? We ain't going out in the boys court. No, we can't afford it. But on top of that, I told her a long time ago, listen, if she leave me, guess what? I'm packing my stuff, I'm right behind her. Baby, hold on, wait up, don't leave me back here. Hey, man, I'm going to. Hey, hey, listen. What do you say, preacher? God's gonna be the one that rewards us. It's a terrific reward. But realize this, that we are co-laborers. We're not competitors. We're not competitors. Let's stop competing. Stop competing with one another. Here's one. So we got some weddings. We got a couple of weddings that's gonna be coming up. Guess what? Y'all not in competition. Y'all do know that though, right? They just smiling. No, we don't know that. Who had the best wedding? Who had the most stuff? Who had the most people that came out? Who had, who had, oh, we did, we, oh! Jesus! Do you know who me and Jolene got married at? In my pastor's office. After the 11 o'clock service. We just stayed at Smith's service. Me and Jolene went in the back. We had just a few people back there. Dr. Moore at his office desk performed the marriage ceremony. There wasn't all the stuff. Nothing wrong with all that stuff, because I'm coming to eat some stuff. But it wasn't all that stuff. But you know what? It was the main stuff, which was Jesus Christ. We had him at the very center. The first wedding of that type. was when you guys threw us for our 25th anniversary, threw us a wedding at the church. That was the first type of wedding like that that we had. But you know, hey, we've been married for a year. We ain't going nowhere. Listen, and that was nice. It was wonderful. The cake was great. Dr. Moore, my pastor was here, and other folks was here. It was wonderful. And that's all wonderful. But you can't build a marriage on that. You may spend $20,000. on the marriage ceremony or on the preparation, how much are you going to pay for the long haul? Sometimes you'll get in a hole. Sometimes you'll get in a hole. Watch this. Boy, sometimes you'll get in a hole. I'm hitting everybody. You know what? And you're like, oh my goodness. We are dead already. We owe $30,000. You know, everybody got to work. We ain't got kids yet. We're going to have to sign them up for them to start working, too, as soon as they get here. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. That's not what it's about. The preacher. It's about them, right? Ooh, preacher's talking. You need to sit down. Listen, how big is your cap? Oh, mama, like this. Right and guess what they've been married for 35 years. Yeah, come on We talk about building the right foundation And by the way, when you're in a marriage, that is working together. I use this a lot of times as an illustration, but Jormaine, she likes Duke's mayonnaise. I mean, a sandwich is not a sandwich, a sandwich is what happened to Miracle Whip, you know? Yeah, see, praise the Lord, amen. I said that down in South Carolina about three months ago, I said that and the folks looked at me. But all we got is $5 and we can't get both Miracle Milk or Dukes I'm like, hey, I can do this. I'm a Miracle Whip guy, but we don't work together. Because there ain't no way I feel like I can get me a Miracle Whip, and now I'm sitting there eating my sandwich, and Jordan's just staring at me. And I only hurt the rest of my kids. They all messed up, too. They like dupes, too. And they all think I'm really daddy. You know what, I'd rather her have the Dukes mayonnaise and be happy than I can have the Dukes mayonnaise and be okay, okay? But I'm gonna really be happy because she happy. And what's that old saying, something y'all know? If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Okay, that's why you got problems. Listen, listen, listen. We're working together, co-laborers. We're co-laborers, not competitors. Mom and dad, don't keep competing against one another. Husband and wife, don't compete against one another. But realize this, we are working together and we need each other. I got two questions for you now. First question is this. Are we fulfilling the assigned task that was given us? Are we fulfilling the assigned task that was given us? By God, of course. Number two, are we working together as co-laborers and not competitors? Are we working together as co-laborers and not competitors? And the last is a simple statement. Let's ask the Lord for extra strength to complete our task. Let's ask the Lord for extra strength to complete our task. Remember this, we're co-laborers. not competitors. Father, thank you for your many wonderful blessings. And I do pray and ask God that somehow, some way, this message helps someone. I know what help is, I would say that. And I pray God will help someone else, encourage someone else to be about the Father's business. Be about the assignment, the task that you've given us, but also realize that we're working together. We're not opponents, we're not adversaries, but yet we are one, and we are together in this thing. Now perhaps God is supposed to want to talk to you about extra strength today, about giving the extra strength to complete the task. Or perhaps God there's some of us that may know the task, but we've not really been doing the task. We've not been doing our assignment, our job. We've been kind of hiding in the locker room, so to speak. But I pray God today we make that decision. We're not going to hide any longer. But be about our father's business. Then perhaps there's other folks who want to come for other reasons. Have nothing to do with this message, but they need to come talk to you about something else. I pray, God, they come talk to you. Why? Because you want to talk to them. Father, help somebody. Maybe somebody wants to pray for someone. Whatever the needs are, I pray, God, we respond. We've heard the songs. We've heard the sermon. Now it's time. It's time to respond. Of course, in your son's name, we do pray. Not only Jesus, but mighty Jesus. Amen.
Co-laborers not competitors
If we are not careful we can easily find ourselves in competition against one another. We are not competing with one another and should be laboring together for the cause of Christ. God has not called us to be rivals but co-laborers. Are we fulfilling the assigned task God gave us?
