Church this week of Chuseok. You do see that there are more
empty seats than normal, and we expected that. Many people
are visiting family this week, so we praise the Lord for this
time to be with family. And this is a special reminder
for us to pray for one another. As you
know, there are some challenges that come along with Chuseok
with some traditional ancestor worship practices and the need
for us as Christians to be faithful and remember that we worship
one God. Scripturally, we know that we
honor our parents, we honor our family, but we don't honor them
more than we honor God. We do not worship them. We do
have fewer of us here today, but we are going to add to the
number of church members this morning as Billy and Joe Nam will share their testimonies
and we will extend the hand of fellowship at our fellowship
meal. And an occasion like this is another reminder for us to
remember to pray for our church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to
edify one another, and to evangelize the lost. That is our mission
statement. Well, we do want to prepare our
hearts for worship this morning, and there's a call to action
this morning. Bugle calls are ringing out.
The hymn is there in your bulletin. Hymn number 402. Yes, everyone,
let's calm down and listen to the hymn. It's called, Welcome. It's a hymn written by Cha Eun-song.
Chapter 402. As the sound of the trumpet resounds, We will start the 2nd round by
reciting the lyrics to the piano accompaniment. you you And Titus 1 verse 5 reminds us,
For this cause I left thee in Crete, this is to Titus, that
thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and
ordain elders in every city as I had appointed thee. This is
Titus 1.5. 내가 너를 그대에 떨어뜨려 둔 이유는 부정한 일을 하고자고 Well, let's prepare to worship
together as we turn in our hymnals to hymn number 31, and worship
the King all glorious above. Expand and sing. O say does that star-spangled
banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the
brave? Oh, say does that star-spangled
banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the
brave? Shabbat shalom. of the people of Israel. I'm The Lord commanded Paul, uh,
Paul commanded Titus to set things in order in the church. And as
we read this morning, Titus 2 and much of Titus 3, we're going
to see everyone has a job to do, men, women, young and old. So turning your Bibles to Titus
chapter 2, we'll start in verse 1, and then we will continue
reading to chapter 3. all the way to verse 11. I will
start and I will read the first five verses and then Pastor Chu
will do that for you in Korean. But as for you, speak those things
which are fitting for sound doctrine. Older men are to be temperate, dignified,
sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance. Older women, likewise, are to
be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved
to much lying, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage
the young women to love their husbands, to love their children.
to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject
to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Only you know what is in harmony
with other teachings. As an old man, you are restrained,
reverent, devoted, driven by faith, love, and patience. As an old woman, and do not be
like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them,
and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like
them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not
be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and
do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not
be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like
them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not
be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and
do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and
do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not be like
them, and do not be like them, and do not be like them, and do not
be like them, Now to those of you who are young
men, verses six through eight. Likewise, urge the young men
to be sensible. In all things, show yourself
to be an example of good deeds with purity in doctrine, dignified,
sound in speech, which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent
will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. For those of us who are workers,
verses 9 and 10, urge bond slaves to be subject
to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
not covering but showing all good faith, so that they will
adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect. We'll
finish chapter two, verses 11 through 15. For the grace of
God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men. instructing us to deny ungodliness
and worldly desires, and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly
in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and appearing
of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who
gave himself for us, to redeem us from every lawless deed, and
to purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous
for good deeds. Verse 15. These things, speak,
and exhort, and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard
you. The grace of God, who gives salvation
to all people, has appeared, and He has raised us up, and
He has abandoned all that is unrighteous and all that is righteous
in this world, and has made us live in this world with humility,
righteousness, and reverence, You have made us wait for the
glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is our
blessed hope and our great God. If He gives Himself on behalf
of us, He will arrest us from all illegal activities and make
us clean, so that the people of God, who work hard for good
deeds, will benefit. 모든 권 위로 책망하여 누구에게든지 없인 여김을 받지
말라. Titus chapter 3 verses 1 through
3. Remind them to be subject to
rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every
good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing
every consideration for all men. For we Also, once we're foolish
ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and
pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful,
hating one another. Let us be obedient, let us do
all good deeds, let no one be dismayed, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one
quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel,
let no one quarrel, let no one quarrel, Titus chapter three verses four
through eight. But when the kindness of God
our savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us. Not on the basis of deeds which
we have done in righteousness, but according to his mercy by
the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that, being justified by his grace, we would be made heirs
according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement,
and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently. so that those who have believed
God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are
good and profitable for men. When our Savior God showed His
mercy and love for man, did He not restore us to our good and
righteous deeds? And did He not renew His faithfulness
with the baptism of the saints and the Holy Spirit? Jesus Christ, our Savior, pour
Your Holy Spirit upon us. Give us strength and comfort,
so that we may follow the hope of eternal life. We'll finish our reading this
morning with Titus 3 verses 9 through 11. But avoid foolish controversies. in genealogies of strife and
disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. Reject a factious man after a
first and second warning, knowing that such a man is perverted
and is sinning, being self-condemned. God has given each of his children
a job to do. Andrew Throffold did send a newsletter
to us and we have the first pictures of Peter Wesley Throffold with
of course his older sister Sophia. Let's continue to pray for them
as they get their visa and their paperwork to return to India. So let us go to the Lord in prayer. Our Father in Heaven, we come
into your presence this morning with thanksgiving. We began this
morning by singing of our desire to worship the King, all glorious
above. Lord, you are our God. We thank you. Jesus Christ is
our Savior. We thank him for his work for us. The Holy Spirit has regenerated
us and is bearing fruit within us. We thank you for this life-giving
work in us. Lord, we rejoice to be children
of the triune God. We rejoice that we can confidently
proclaim I belong to Jesus. Jesus belongs
to me. We thank you for this time of
year when across Korea people are giving thanks. And yet we acknowledge many are
giving thanks or honoring the wrong object. Our thanksgiving goes to God,
who is the giver of every good and every perfect gift. Lord,
we desire to come into your presence with thanksgiving today. We rejoice
in you. Help us to worship you in spirit
and in truth today. We pray that you would bless
those who are with family or friends at this time of year. Help them to be a good testimony
for Christ. Father, help all of us who are
yours to be faithful to you in this coming week. As we rejoice in our blessings,
help us not to forget the giver of those blessings. We do pray, Lord, that you would
be glorified in our midst this morning. We pray that you would
indeed meet with us. Bless the proclamation of your
word. Bless the gathering, the adding to our number. Bless the
fellowship that follows. And Lord, we will give you the
praise that you have met with us today. And we ask that others would
see that we have been with you today as well. We pray these
things in Jesus' name with thanksgiving. Well, part of praising God is
remembering what a wonderful Savior we have. Hymn number 446,
A Wonderful Savior is Jesus. Let's stand to sing all four
verses. And the world will hear the little
boys sing. Behold the storm, behold the
well-born, Thou shalt see how great Thou art. The mountains and the beaches
grow, And the towns and the cities grow. While the seasons and the
seasons change, We will always know His holy name. Dear heart, we hope that you
will join us in the world, where love and peace reign eternally. Dear heart, we hope that you
will join us in the world, is is We're rising, my soul, to the
abode of the Lord, And God in heav'nly peace adore
Thee, that Thou wouldst be with us each day more. There he is, he's precious, he's
good and nice, and here he will find me just fine. His words
are great, sure, he's fond of me, and he'll never leave me
just fine. O'er the ramparts we watched
were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the
bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag
was still there. Well, let's continue our worship
this morning with our tithes and offerings. I'm going to ask
Brother Nam and Brother Affley to come take the offerings. Brother
Affley, if you would go ahead and pray for us. Let us pray. Lord, we thank you for this opportunity
to join together, to lift up our prayers and our songs, our
voices to you, glorify you this morning. We pray that you would
be with us as we hear the message this morning. We would focus
on you and we would seek to uphold one another and Lord now we do
praise praise you for the gifts that you
