I'm Darrell Bailey. Thank you
for tuning in. Servants for Christ. As we continue on in our series,
Whosoever Will. As we get into the wonderful
Word of God, I'm glad that God has made salvation available
to all, every single person in the entire world. We'll be talking
about the door is open, but you must walk in. As we get into
the Word of God, I'm glad that he tells us that in all of our
ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path. You know
what? I'm glad that as we look at the
wonderful Word of God, take your Bibles with us as we talk about
the door is open, but you must walk in. Start out with the most
familiar scripture of John 3, 16. As the Word of God says,
for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. Amen. Then turn right on over
to Romans chapter 10, Romans chapter 10, verse 13. For whosoever, that is anyone,
anywhere, shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
He goes on and turn with me on to the book of Revelation, Revelation
chapter 3 verse 20. Revelation chapter 3 verse 20. The Bible says, Behold, I stand
at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and
open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him and
he with me. Let's pray. Father, we thank
you for the glorious truth of salvation through Jesus Christ,
and we thank you that you're the sovereign, yet you're loving
call of whosoever will. Lord, open our hearts to see
the balance of your grace and our responsibility, and may your
spirit convict, may it draw, may it change lives today in
Jesus's marvelous mighty name that we pray for all that are
listening to the gospel in Jesus's mighty name. Save them, Lord,
before it's too late. And Lord, for those cold and
indifferent Christians that have fallen by the wayside, Lord,
that have got out of the will of God, they're still saved.
but they need to get back into the presence and fellowship and
repent and ask the Lord to forgive them of their mistakes and get
back into the Word of God. In Jesus' marvelous mighty name,
we pray. Amen. You know, some people believe
sovereignty cancels man's responsibility. Others act if man's choice makes
God powerless. And so, both of them are wrong. Let me say that again. I want
it to be very crystal clear. Some believe God's sovereignty
cancels man's responsibility. Others act as if man's choice
makes God powerless. Both of them are wrong. The Bible
shows a harmony. God opens the door by grace,
but man must walk through by faith. You understand? It's crystal
clear. God's sovereignty never overrides
man's free will, but it gives man the opportunity to exercise
faith. Faith is the substance of things
hopeful, the evidence of things not seen. Salvation is God's
gift, but it must be received. The question is, will you open
the door when Christ knocks? As I look at the word of God
from John 3, 16, Romans 10, 13, and Revelation chapter three,
verse 20, as I talk about the door is open, but you must walk
in. The first thing that I see here is God's sovereignty provides
the way. John 3, 16, for God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten son. You see, God chose
to act first. He sent his son. He made the
sacrifice. He knocked at the heart's door.
I'm glad that he knocked at mine in 1972 in the month of September
when he knocked at my heart. But you know what? He knocked
at it that Sunday morning, but I didn't come down. I refused,
I neglected, but that Sunday night the convicting power was
so strong, man, I came down. God chose to act first. He sent
his son, he made the sacrifice, he knocked at the heart's door
of every man, woman, boy, and child today that's of the age
of accountability. You see, without God's sovereignty,
man could never save himself. God reached down before we could
ever reach up. Hallelujah, praise his mighty
name. If God had not acted first and sent in his son, could man
have found a way to heaven? Absolutely not. Because without
Christ, we're lost, we're hopeless. And so the door is open, but
you must walk in. God's sovereignty provides the
way, but secondly, man's free will must respond. In Revelation
3, verse 20, the Bible says, Behold, I stand at the door and
knock. And Jesus, you know what? Jesus
doesn't kick down the door. He knocks. He invites. He waits. You see, the spirit
convicts, but he does not coerce. Salvation is not automatic. It
is a choice. I'm glad I'm not a robot. God
didn't want a robot here marching around. He wanted free will. So the spirit convicts, but he
does not coerce. Salvation is not automatic. It
is a choice. It is free will. You can buy
a gift for someone, but unless they unwrap it, it does them
no good. And so why does God not force
salvation on us? Listen to me, because love must
be chosen, not coerced. Do you understand? It's crystal
clear. And so we see that the door is open, but you must walk
in. God's sovereignty provides the way and man's free will must
respond. But thirdly, and closing, salvation
is offered to whosoever will. In Romans 10, 13, for whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The invitation
is universal, but the response is personal. You see, Calvinism
says the door is only open to some, but the Bible says the
door is wide open for all who will come. Imagine a banquet
with the door wide open, and yet some refuse to enter because
they will not accept the invitation. What does the Bible say? Who
does the Bible say can be saved? Whosoever believes, no one is
excluded. You see, God and His sovereignty
provided salvation, and man in his responsibility must receive
it. The cross was wide enough to
embrace the world, but personal enough to call your name, my
name, everybody's name. Friend, the question is not,
did God make a way? The question is, have you walked
through the way that he made? You see, Jesus is standing at
the door right now, the door of your heart right now. He has
already paid the price. He's already carried the cross,
already risen from the grave, but he'll not force his way in.
The handle is on the inside and you must open the door. Come
and say yes to Christ. Lay down your sin. Lay down your
excuses. Lay down your rebellion. Come
just as you are, but don't leave as you came. Listen to me, because
the sovereign God has opened the way, and now you must choose. Today is the day of salvation.
Will you walk in? Huh? Because we see the Word
of God versus man's theology, because the Word of God came
by the Holy Spirit. Amen. And then when we saw the
rise of the theology systems that took place, when we looked
at the problem with those theology systems and how the world stands
above man's ideas, because God's word is pure. The Holy Spirit
is not Augustine. The Holy Spirit's not Aquinas.
The Holy Spirit's not Luther. The Holy Spirit's not Calvin.
And the Holy Spirit is not Artemis. It is the true interpreter. Theology
can help organize thought, but salvation is not defined by acronyms. It's defined by the cross of
Christ. Hallelujah. Praise his mighty name. And so
I hope and pray that as we close out, that the door is open, but
you must walk in. And so I hope and pray that you
do before it's too late, because today is the day of salvation. Heavenly Father, we thank you
for the clear truth of your word. Your sovereignty, you love the
whole world, and you gave your son. We thank you, Lord, that
salvation is not for a select few, but for whosoever will call
upon the name of the Lord. Father, we rejoice that grace
has opened the door wide, but we also know that each heart
must choose. Lord, give us courage to say yes to Jesus every day,
and for those still standing outside knocking at the door
of indecision, May your spirit draw them right in. Sell these
truths in their heart as we go forth. Help us to live as witnesses
of your amazing grace. Faithful, bold, and surrendered.
And may everything we do point to Jesus Christ, our Savior and
our Lord. In his precious name we pray.
Amen.
