Good morning and welcome to our
Sunday School Hour. I invite you to stand this morning as
we sing hymn number 23, There is Power in the Blood. Hymn number
23, stand as we sing. Oh, say does that star-spangled
banner yet There's power in the blood. There's
power in the blood. There's power in the blood. We are all in His service, O
King. standing for prayer this morning.
Brother Richard, would you pray for us? Heavenly Father, Lord,
we thank you we come together and worship you this morning.
We do pray that you'd be with the Taylor family, with Brother
Tom this week. Lord, we pray that you'd be with
our church family to comfort them and heal from our own hearts. Lord, we pray that you would
be honored and glorified in all that is said and done today.
We pray that you'd be lifted up in the singing Prepare our hearts and our minds
to be ready and receptive, seeking from you again. In Jesus' name. Amen. Thank you. You may
be seated, unless you celebrate a birthday or an anniversary.
Happy birthday over here. Sing happy birthday over here.
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy
birthday, God bless you. Praise the Lord, it's good to
be in the Lord's house and so thankful for our hope that we
possess, amen. It's such a good thing to know
that we have a hope that outlasts this world, this life, and we've
just placed another one of our loved ones on the other side.
just made having that much sweeter, right? And so I'm so thankful
for Brother Tom's walk and his faith, his testimony for God,
just is such a blessing to be around him. And in the latter
days, be able to spend time with him. It was, you know, he wasn't
fearful of what waited on the other side. Matter of fact, he
was probably a little anxious about it. And then he didn't
have to suffer with any pain. I've never been with a cancer
patient that never had, but never had any pain. So that was a blessing
from God too. They'll just so you kind of know
They'll not be a service this coming week It'll be put off
till the next week unsure of the timing and all that But he's
got a daughter that left for Greece and she Greece on a trip
And she'll be back sometime at the end of the week or first
part of the next week and so As those things become available,
we'll let you know. And so be praying for Miss Patty. She's holding up pretty good
for the circumstance. And you know, Brother Tom liked
church. So we're gonna enjoy church today, right? We haven't misplaced him. We
haven't lost him. We know exactly where he's at.
And we know he'd want us to enjoy church today. So we'll put a
smile on our face and we'll enjoy church knowing that maybe he's
watching from up there, you know? And I don't want him to take
names down and then, you know, come and. get after us when we
get up there, but anyhow. So we have the Gibsons with us,
be introducing them in just a minute. Patch the Pirates gonna start
on the 11th. If you haven't paid for your
book, you need to do so. Youth Rally coming up on the
20th at seven o'clock, looking forward to that. and that's always
kind of the kickoff for the year, so it's a big event, looking
forward to having a couple hundred teens in here. Men's recharge
coming up 27th, 28th, and looking forward to that. It's $80 a man,
that money is due today. That is a savings over what it
would be if you weren't from our church, but we're glad to
help host that. Looking forward to it ladies
dinner on the 27th with men out of town They like to get together
and eat and so they'll be determining where that is Outreach on the
5th you mark that down and planned to be a part From our prayer
needs, if you would just remember to pray for Ms. Patty, continue
to pray for the Savages, for Zach, for Pat Price, Ms. Anderson, the Bushes, Ms. Glenda
is still in hospice care, and Boots, Paul Durham, Brother Scott
Vesey, Aunt May, and Land for the Crots and Vet Walker. Is
she out of the hospital? Still in the hospital, go pray
for a vet. As she's in the hospital, they're
dealing with her circumstance. I have a thank you card here.
It says, given as shall be given to you, good measure, press it
down and shaken together and running over, Luke 638. Bring
the Lord blesses your giving heart in abundant measure. Thank
you, the Adams, John, Tammy, and Granger. and then it had
this note in size, pastor and church family, we are humbled
and so very grateful for you all for your generous gift you
gave towards our camper payoff. Second Thessalonians 1.3, we
are bound to thank God always for you brethren, as it is me
because of your faith growth exceedingly and the charity of
every one of you all towards each other boundeth. Paul's words,
of Thanksgiving was to increase the faith and the love of the
Thessalonians. It is faith in Christ and love of man. It is
our prayer that the Lord will use your gift to us for faith
and love. It will that it will change the
gift giver, receiver and many others for his glory. We know
that you all continue to be a blessing to others and that the Lord will
bless you as well. We love you all and so thankful
for you sincerely, the Adams. So it's good to be able to help
missionaries, amen? Even builders out there building
churches. Man, if we get more buildings
built, we save money building those buildings, then they can
turn around and invest that in staff and in missions and help
more missionaries get around the world, help plant more churches
in the world. Just amazing, and I've been tied
with church planning in many different ways over the years,
and to think of all the money that I've seen saved just by
churches giving and being a help, just such a blessing. So, so
thankful that we could help the Adams pay off their camper. They
need a nice place to live, and so glad that they've got one
as just a blessing, a part of it. Gonna have Brother Steve
come, lead us in a song, and then I'm gonna introduce the
Gibsons to you. But Stan, once again, will sing
first and last verses of hymn number 139, I know whom I have
believed. Oh, say does that star-spangled
banner yet wave I failed to mention also that
following the afternoon service today, we're gonna have a church
business meeting talking about the sprinkler system that we
need to replace. And so it'll be the first of
meetings when I encourage you to be around for that. And we'll
give you some helpful information as we get ready to make that
substantial purchase. It's good to have the Gibsons.
What can I tell you about the Gibsons? I can tell you he's
a preacher, okay? We were in a meeting in July
and Brother Gibson preached and like peeled the paint off the
walls. And he did that night after night. And you know, it's
one thing for a guy to get up and hit a good one, but when
he hits consistently, it's like, this is the kind of guy I want
to have come to our church and preach. So, and Brother Gibson,
if you wouldn't mind coming, this is wonderful wife, Lori,
so good to have her with us. And I know he'll be a blessing.
And so stay on your toes, listen quick, okay? Preacher, preacher,
amen. Oh man, well, everybody has a
dad, it might be today, you know, so. What a blessing. the preacher's grandfather passed
away the day before. Then we come in here and Brother
Tom passes away the day before. I hope word doesn't get out.
People just keep having me in, unless they're wanting somebody
to, I don't know, you know, just Bill Marshall used to say, some
churches are about two funerals away from revival, you know,
so I don't know. But anyway, it is the Jordanian Lord's house
and if Brother Tom left church, no doubt he prayed for the church,
prayed for the pastor, And he hasn't quit praying, he's just
moved a little closer to the throne and right there at the
ear of God. Can you imagine that? Just right
at the ear of God, that request known. So what a blessing that
is. I appreciate your pastor and
Miss Cindy and the pleasure of meeting them as well. And it's
good to see where people are at, you know, just kind of get
a visual of the ministry. God's blessed you with a beautiful
place here. Man, I'm telling you, this is wonderful. He's
a good God, isn't he? I sure love him. And Deuteronomy
this morning, chapter 27, book of Deuteronomy, chapter number
27. Fifth book in the Bible, Deuteronomy
chapter number 27. And we're going to begin our
reading in verse number 11.
Amen
