All right. You hear me out there? You got a live studio audience? No, I'm talking about you. You, Jill. I'm talking about
you guys. You hear me out there? Now. I'll let Johnny. All right. Good thing we checked. One thing I've learned is it
has to be on or it won't work. And it's pizza night for those
of you joining us live and thinking we're running late. We're actually
not It's just Pizza night first Wednesday of every month and
This time we got flyers pizza, and it was really really good
And I'm finishing up here. I didn't
do this before I got up here. Letting some folks know we're
live in case they want to join us. I had somebody tell me not
too long ago that they thought that there was something wrong
with the, well, probably it was last month, first Wednesday of
last month. And they thought there was something
wrong with our stream. And then they saw me post that we were
live, and they came and joined us. They said they wasn't going to
join us. 18 to 20. And I hope everybody got your
coffees or teas or whatever so you don't fall asleep. You got
your tummies full. I know what it's like on a Wednesday
night to get your tummy full. Jill's got her beer, I mean ginger
beer. I've got her beer. Old fashioned black coffee for
me. All right. Well, I think, Jenny,
did you already get the prayer cards out? Not yet, sir. Well,
I printed up some more. I forgot to put them out, so
I'll give you that. Oh, thank you so much. I only printed enough to
get us through. I'll get you some more Sunday.
That's OK. Raise your hand up high. Jenny
will bring those around. Evening, everybody. Onliners
can send yours to BBFOhio at ProtonMayo.com. There's your reminder to silence
your cell phone ringers. We've already done the camera
checks, I believe. So we'll give Janie a minute
to get those passed out. We have tracks at the end of
the service. Janie will throw those at you
if you want them. And in the meantime, we're getting
ready to do our current events update. So we ask you to not
talk over the speaker or video clips and hold your questions
and comments to the end. The tournament's update. Update number one, Dan is in
the building. Israel at war, today's date,
8-7-24, day 306, No real change. They did confirm
one of the missing people was murdered, sadly, a lady that
they've been investigating. But today, like the last several
days, we've been watching to see what Iran would do. And in
the meantime, they took out a missile commander for Hezbollah in an
airstrike. In the meantime, the idea continues
down in southern and central Gaza. And it's kind of like business
as usual. And they're just kind of waiting
to see what Iran might do. And ahead of activity in northern
Gaza, they've been south and central. Now they're going back
into the north. And they've called on the residents there to evacuate.
All these people crying and whining about all the civilians being
killed. We just want to remind you, most of them aren't civilians.
And number two, Israel is wanting them to get out before they even
do their operations. Hamas keeps what civilians are
there on purpose, because they want people dead. They want to
have dead civilians so they can film it and use it for propaganda. Now all of this, while the Iranian
response to the killing of a man named Haniyeh continues, In the
meantime, Hamas announced that the man who is actually the architect
of the October 7th attack, a man named Sinwar, is going to lead
Politburo, which is what Haniyeh's position was, one of the main
leaders of Hamas. He's a hardened extremist, fanatically
devoted to the murder of Israelis and the destruction of the Jewish
state. He is at the top of Israel's kill list. So I don't think he'll
be there long enough to even take a vacation. And that's my
prediction. But wait, what's this? IRGC members
are now being fingered as the people who planted the bomb that
killed Henea. First, Henea is the man I just
showed that was killed in Iran. And that's what the whole thing
is about that Iran is saying they're going to respond to.
Originally, they were saying it was an Israeli missile. Then
they said, no, it was a bomb. Then they said, well, Mossad
had put the bomb in the room next to him before. And then when they knew he was
there, they set it off. Now they're saying it was two Iranian guards
who were paid off in six figures by Mossad. And so it was Iranians
who then went in and they put these very specialized explosives
about an inch thick, and they put it under his bed. And they
made sure it would be an explosion that would kill him, but not
injure anybody in the other rooms around him. So, that's the Jewish
Chronicle that's reporting that, and I-24 is reporting and giving
them credit. It's the members of the Revolutionary
Guard is what they call them. And then they were then whisked
away into Europe, and what do we call that, protective custody
or whatever, when they give them a new ID? Witness protection. Witness protection, there you
go. You watch your TV cop shows, I can tell. Oh, yeah. It says
the explosive charge placed under the bed of senior Hamas official
Ismail Henia was planted by two Iranians recruited by Mossad
from the Ansar Ahmadi unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps, according to a report in the UK paper, The Jewish Chronicle. The alleged agents were part
of the unit charged with guarding the building. And it's yes. Iran understood
what happened after the assassination. the Jewish Chronicle said, as
the guards were seen in the security camera footage. And they saw
him walking quietly down the hallway towards the room where
the target planned to stay, unlocking the door and entering the room.
So they saw these guys go in and out. Three minutes later,
after entering the room, the guards, who were each over to
six-figure sum, and immediately relocation to a country in northern
Europe, were caught on camera calmly exiting the room, descending
the stairs towards the main entrance of the building, exiting, and
then getting into a black car. The guard at the parking barrier
recognized them and opened the gate without asking any questions.
An hour later, they were smuggled out of Iran by the Mossad. Probably
gonna be a movie. Reports suggested that the device
was placed in the cabin weeks before the explosion. I'm not
going to repeat all that, but then they say, well, that wasn't
true. So this report, if true then,
may help explain this. There's a US report from the
Washington Post and others that Iran may be reconsidering its
response against Israel. Now that they know it was Iranians
that killed the guy, in the first place. Yes, they were considered
traitors now, but they were still Iranians. It wasn't a direct
attack by the Israelis. So, in the Washington Post, they
reported that Biden held intensive meetings to prevent escalation
in the Middle East and all that. I know. It didn't happen. And we must never lose sight
of the impending Gog Magog War Putin, Russia, Rosh, urges Khomeini
for restrained response, no harm to Israeli citizens. So right
now, Russia really doesn't want a war to blow up, and they don't
really want to. You say, well, then it's not
gonna happen? Well, if you read the text, it
says he's gonna put a jaw in their mouth, a hook in the jaw. I said a jaw in the hook. put
a hook in the jaw and drag them down. And so this actually is
what you expect to see before Baal Megol, right there. They
don't wanna come down, they don't want to, but they're gonna be
forced by something. In the meantime, we continue
to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and stand with Israel, amen?
Number two, the leftists have chosen their candidates. Here's
your yard sign if you want one. 2024 Commie Law. and another old white liberal
dude. His name doesn't matter. Last week we showed you this
guy. But we can get out there, reach out, make the case. And
for one thing, don't ever shy away from our progressive values.
One person's socialism is another person's neighborliness. That's
who the Democrat Marxist death call wants to be your vice president,
a socialist, out in the open. Democrats are socialists, they're
Marxists. But most of them aren't out of
the closet about it, like this guy. He's unabashedly socialist. Now he could potentially be the
vice president of the United States. Now this is a picture of him in 1995 when
he was arrested for DUI. In Nebraska, he was pulled over
doing 96 in a 55. He was a teacher and lied to police
about being deaf in an attempt to avoid arrest. His blood alcohol
content was 0.128 at the time. He was smashed. Now, that only
matters because these hypocrites have set up this standard for
their opponents. If you're going to go fishing into everybody's
past like they have Trump and Vance, then okay, you just opened
the door. Those in glass houses should
not cast stones. So just keep that in mind if
you're talking to people about this stuff and explaining why
you wouldn't vote for them among other reasons. And what's even
worse is this. What could be weirder than signing
a bill into law that requires schools to stock tampons in boys
bathrooms? Or weirder than signing legislation
allowing minors to receive sex change operations? Try electing
the man who signed those bills, Vice President of the United
States. Enter Chief Weirdo, Tim Walz. As Governor of Minnesota, Walz
supported legislation that endangers minors, hurts women, and puts
radical ideology ahead of common sense. Now Kamala wants Walz
to enforce those laws on a national scale. Tim Walz, too weird, too
radical. Now, first of all, they called
her Kamila, right? Kamila? Isn't that a name? Kamila? And they come out after J.D. Vance calling him weird and all
that. Accusing him of wanting more
white babies. He said there should be more babies in America. That
just means he wants more white babies. And his aren't white,
his are mixed. He married a Hindu Indian, Usha. So, and by the way, J.D. Bates is calling him Tampon Tim. And did you hear why? He forced
public schools to use taxpayer money to put tampons in the boys'
room. Now I'll tell you this right
now. 1986, 1985, well through 87,
they'd do that in the school I grew up in, you'd have to stand
in line to knock those things off the wall and then just crush
them. And if the teachers had tried to do anything to any one
of us for doing that, they'd have had every red-blooded American
Wheelers, Bergey, and boy ready to take them down. I'm telling
you, this would not have happened in the 80s. That's how far this country has
gone without even allowing that stuff. But I heard there were
some schools where that's what happened. The boys just knocked
the things off the wall and crushed them. I would have come up with
inventive things to do with those, but anyway. His life has been one of disgrace
and wickedness. Some of you are aware of this.
I heard you talking about it. But he left his National Guard
battalion hanging, slithered out the door before Iraq deployment,
according to his fellow veterans. And this was reported in the
New York Post. Veterans accused Minnesota Governor Tim Walz,
Commie Law, Harris's newly minted running mate of embellishing
his military record. He lied about what he actually
did do in the military. And they say he's done it for
years, even though he dropped the National Guard unit ahead
of his Iraq deployment. He signed a law allowing illegals
to get driver's license, which means they had the potential
to vote illegally because they had ID. This is what it's done. a packed room at the ST Paul
Armory erupted after the governor's signature made driver's license
for all the law of the land. Look at all those stupid people.
Amen. Fools, just foolish, stupid,
foolish. He openly embraces a communist
or well-in-view on free speech. I don't know if you heard this.
I think we need to push back on this. There's no guarantee to free
speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around
our democracy. Misinformation. they told you
that the COVID shot would keep you from getting COVID, and then
if you said otherwise, they got you kicked off of social media,
and in some places, fined and arrested, and called it misinformation,
and they were wrong. The misinformation was true.
That's why our founding father said, misinformation is protected
speech, because one man's misinformation is another man's neighborliness.
Listen, misinformation, these are just Orwellian buzzwords.
The hate speech is speech they hate. Hate speech is me declaring
that God is holy, men are sinners, and if you don't get saved, you
go to hell. That's hate speech. Jesus Christ is the only way.
All other religions are false. That's hate speech. Sodom is
wickedness. There's no such thing as sodomite
marriage. It's a blasphemy. That's hate speech. It speaks
to the hate. And this is his crazy wife. I
would say those first days, you know, when there were riots,
I could smell the burning tires. And that was that was a very real
thing. And I kept the windows open for
as long as I could, because I felt like that was such a touchstone
of what was what was happening. She wanted to smell the burning
tires because it's a Black Lives Matter riot, and she loves it. I mean, she's got the devil in
her, that's why. Tim Walz let Minnesota burn, and Kamala Harris
then bailed out the ones who lit the matches. And they tried
to call that fake news. They would have banned that,
but it's true. And I don't have the video queued
up for today, but I might show it Sunday where it shows the
people that her fundraising helped get out of prison. And there's
some of the worst criminals in the state of Minnesota they've
ever had. And this is the apostate Lutheran church that Tim and
his lunatic wife attend. Given the guns and white supremacy,
the threat of authoritarian white Christian nationalism, and the
multiple crises of our own making that threaten Earth's capacity
to host life, can we bear to hear the more that Jesus has
to tell us today? Now listen, this denial of the
authority and infallibility of scripture here. And it means
renouncing the aspiration in Psalm 8 to rule over creation
or imagine that God has set it beneath our feet. What may have
been innocent words of praise 3,000 years ago became an ecocidal
delusion in the last centuries and decades. And now he's denying
the claims of deity by Jesus and about Jesus. because while
the early church and most of the Christian tradition rushed
to reserve divinity in humanity exclusively for Jesus, there
is zero biblical evidence that Jesus felt the same way. If anything,
there are plenty of hints to the contrary, that Jesus is counting
on us to become vessels of divine energy, bearers of the moreness
of God into this world. That's Luciferian New Ageism. And that's where Tim Walz and
his wife go to church. It's an evangelical Lutheran
Church of America, ELCA. They're about as evangelical
as Judas Iscariot. That's a false name. They are
not evangelical, but that's what their legal name is. And by the
way, go to protestia.com and you can see the whole story behind
that church. There's a lot more to it than
that. Finally, we just have to, every once in a while, keep you
abreast of what's going on with the Roman cult that is going
to give birth to the Antichrist, the final Pope. It's not a legitimate
Christian denomination. If you think so, you're completely
pleased. Read the book, The Woman Rides
the Beast, We'll watch our studies about it. It's an illegitimate
Christian denomination. It's a cult. They preach a false
religion, a false gospel. If you believe what they say
is the gospel, you will go to hell. That's really the definition
of a cult. If you believe their gospel and
it takes you to hell, it's a cult. Now imagine being upset by this.
This was posted about a man who got saved in prison. And he's
going to be baptized in a garbage can with a plastic liner because
that's all they got. Now watch this. They believe in immersion. Go sprinkle it. Watch. They have
to push it down in there. Look at that. You can hear the people yelling
and praising the Lord in the background in the prison. And
they had family members looking in through the bars. Isn't that
great? Imagine being upset by that. And this is the kind of
response he got from the people in the Roman cult. Jesus only
commanded and approved his disciples to baptize. Of course, by that,
they mean priests. If the black man is not a successor
to a disciple, the baptism is not valid. The only exception
would be that man is dying and will not live to see a priest.
So I responded and I said, this is one of the dumbest statements
I've ever seen on the matter of baptism. There isn't a single
statement in scripture that says such nonsense. There's no legal,
I'm sorry, there's no real authentic evidence to support unbroken
succession, not even the Pope, by the way, going back to the
original disciples. And unless you have that, then
everything he says, moot. Then he comes back and says,
our traditions predate the Bible. It's a true statement. True,
your traditions are Babylonian and pagan. Isn't that something? Sometimes
they can't help it, they tell the truth even when they don't
really mean to. I'm sure you regretted saying that. Now this
is the reality of the Roman cult. You may not know it, but this
is what you're, especially the youth these days in the Roman
Catholic cult, they're having huge rallies to worship Mary
and the Eucharist. ♪ Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, They're worshipping there. The wafer. Look at that. There
it is again. The priest is on his knees. It's not that loud and there
may be not that many people, but they have a table with the
Eucharist on it. And we've talked about how at
some point during the mass, the fellow priest even looks up and
says, my Lord and my God, looking right at that way. Now this is
the false Jesus of the Roman cult. You have to understand
this. You talk to Roman Catholics, you have to be very careful how
you talk to them about the gospel, because they say they believe
in Jesus, they receive Jesus, they have a relationship with
Jesus. Let this priest, he'll explain it to you. Just, I mean, we were all on
our knees. You could hear a pin drop when
Jesus came in, in the monstrance. And we were all just adoring
our Lord. That was the reason we were all there. You know,
it was for Him. And it was really moving. It
was really powerful, just, and it gave me hope. That wafer is
Jesus. And you can get to know him. You get to know him personally. And that kind of begins in the
Eucharist. When you eat that wafer, that's
when you get to know Jesus. That's when you receive Jesus.
That's when you have a personal experience with Jesus when you
eat the wafer. Totally not a biblical religion.
Totally pagan. It's the same thing you would
have seen if you'd gone back to Babylon and Egypt as they
worshiped the sun god. That little thing that the wafer
is in, it's the same thing they used to worship the sun god.
Same thing. The Romans who don't repent and
get saved before the rapture will be among this crowd described
in Revelation 9.20 And the rest of the men which were not killed
by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands,
that they should not worship devils and idols of gold and
silver and brass and stone and of wood, which neither can see
nor hear nor walk. All the unsaved Roman Catholics,
of all of them, I hope and pray some of them do get saved, but
the mass majority will take the mark of the beast, they'll worship
the beast, they'll be damned forever. And it starts right
now with an unrepentant heart toward idolatry taking place
in the Roman Catholic Church today. And nine out of ten of
your Christian friends or others have no idea. And they won't
because most of evangelicalism today is ecumenical and will
not preach the truth when it comes to any of these things.
So that's where we come in. We go outside these four walls
and talk to our loved ones. Amen? That's why we want you
to be informed, pray, and act accordingly. All right, we got
a few minutes here, a couple minutes real quick. Brian? Yeah,
I don't know if you saw this, but Tim, what's his name, Tim
Walls, said that when he's having a rough day, the thing that lifts
him up and makes him smile is now that Ilhan Omar is in the
Senate. Yeah, I saw that. Wicked, Muslim, Somalian, American
hero. Wow. Yeah, isn't that encouraging? Well, the perverts, the riverbaits,
That's what you wanna hear from. Most of them, to be honest with
you, if they're tripping, they're either smoking pot or doing cocaine
like Hunter in the White House, or they're on psych meds that
blitz their brains. One of those things. Or like
in Ohio now, you can just go out and buy pot if you're 21
and over. So we'll talk more about that
later. All right, let's get into our Bible study with that. 1
Timothy chapter one. verses 18 to 20, and we're gonna
dig in here. And as everyone's turning there,
that's Brother Dan in the back, if you would, up and bow and
say the prayer. All right. Lord, this comes to you now,
and thank you for this time to be able to assemble together,
and time to examine your word and the truth, and in light of
everything that's happening in the world that's weird. Yeah. Just thank you for the normalcy
that's applied to your word and common sense and just your divine
truth. We just ask for help and understanding
and application of your word in this time with us. I just
ask this in your name, Jesus, amen. Amen. Amen. All right,
1 Timothy 1, 18 to 20, War of Good Warfare. We're gonna conclude
chapter one. The Lord leads us here to the
end of the study. Picking up after Paul quoted
what is believed to have been an early church hymn or doxology,
beginning in verse 18 through 20, I'm gonna have you read the
odd verses with me. No, actually, read the even with
me. Start verse 18. This charge I commit unto thee,
Simon Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before
on thee, that thou by them mightest for a good warfare, holding faith
and a good conscience. which some, having put away concerning
faith, have made shipwrecked, of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander,
whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme."
Amen? So in our previous study, I inadvertently
left out one of the seven praises by following that doxology or
hymn. I left out the only wise God,
as I was going line by line. The only wise God is referring
to the fact that he is the only true God and the only true God
is the only source of true infallible wisdom. So that's why the only
wise God is the perfect title for Jesus. And we pointed out
a bit of a off the cuff definition for each of these. He is the
only wise God, look up Jude 25. Somebody wanna look it up real
quick and read that for us. He is, he only, or he alone is
infinitely wise and the fountain of all wisdom. Now, infinitely
means his wisdom knows no end. There is no borders to his wisdom. Unlike us, we have our limitations. If somebody look at it, up to
25, Brian, go ahead and read that. To the only wise God, our
Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now
and forever. Amen. Did you hear that? Amen.
Jude 25. That's good. Thanks for bringing
that to our attention, Jill. And by the way, I want you to
understand, if I do say something you think may be off or something,
I don't have a problem with you. What I got on to Jenny and Jill
a couple times for is typos. Typos happen, but if it makes
a difference, that's important too. Sometimes a typo, you know,
punctuation matters, you know? And so we've shown some funny
memes about that. So I appreciate it, and that's
for all you onliners. If you see stuff we've uploaded
and something's wrong, Brother Mark Bass down there, he's been
a great help over a certain amount of time. I know Mary's helped
me out a couple times, and some of you have. It's very helpful.
We don't have a paid staff here. Nobody's paid. Everything going
on in this church is by people who love the Lord and work for
Him. So every little bit helps. But Paul's message to Timothy
is, for all gospel believers. Sometimes a message in the Bible
is to someone in particular, and it's not really applicable
to us. But sometimes it is. And when it comes to Paul's epistles
to Timothy, 1 and 2 Timothy, and then there's Titus. That's
another fellow he'll write to by Leman. The message to those
folks is a message that is applicable to us all. Keep that in mind
as you're reading those. And we see here warfare. And
verse 18, faith and conscience in verse 19, and then separation
from error in verse 20, as these are how to war a good warfare. We'll come back to that in a
minute. We're not in the kingdom age of peace yet. Amen? So what
are you in? You're in the middle of a war.
We are in warfare, not spiritual warfare. We're not gonna get
into all that, but you know, we know that our weapons are
not carnal and this is spiritual warfare. We're gonna stick directly
to the text in verse 18, where he says, this charge I commit
unto thee, son Timothy. Again, it's not his natural offspring,
but Paul was a spiritual father to Timothy, wasn't like the priesthood,
and Timothy didn't go around calling him Father Paul, Father
Paul, but he had that relationship with Timothy. According to the
prophecies which went before on thee, that'd been something
to have the apostle Paul prophesy over you, That happened to Timothy.
Well, in a similar way, a lot of the prophecies that Paul has
in his epistles apply to us. So in that sense, we have that
sort of thing. Then he says that thou by them mightest war a good
warfare. So Timothy gets his marching
orders to war a good warfare. And a number of places we could
have gone, you know, he tells Timothy to be a good soldier
of Jesus Christ, and there's a number of other places. But
of course, we're gonna see at the end of 1 Timothy, Chapter
six, verse 12, Paul says, fight the good fight of faith, lay
hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called and has
professed a good profession before many witnesses. A lot of Christians
think that the fight is only against their flesh, but the
fight is bigger than you. That's part of it. You are to
keep your flesh in subjection. And you are to, we're going to
come back to that, your behavior matters. But it starts with what
you believe. You can decide you want to be
a good person, be a really good Christian, but if you are not
being filled with the truth of God's word and your doctrine
isn't right, you're going to end up going off the deep end.
It's going to affect the way you live. So that like Paul,
If we fight the good fight of faith, we can one day say, as
he will at the end of 2 Timothy, chapter four, verse seven, I
have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Now, when
you got saved, how many years ago that was? Doug, how many
years you've been saved now? 60, Mark? 50, how many of you
have been saved more than 40 years? Anybody? Yeah. And I'm going on, I'm heading
up there. I'm about 30, going on 36 years. How many years? 41? And when you started, have you
been faithful all those years? Well, now what do I mean by faithful? I mean, have you not, I'm not
asking if you've stayed, you know, all of us have our good
and our bad. But if you ever betrayed the
Lord and turned away from the Lord and threw the Lord off,
you know, that kind of thing, that's what we're talking about.
All of us have our, you go back years, if you didn't have some
low points, some points where you might have disappointed the
Lord, then God bless you, I have never met anybody like that.
Anybody who's honest, if you've been saved for very long, actually
within my first year, I could say that. and second year, third
year, where every year of my life, if I could remember it
all, I'm sure there's been points where I really got away from
the Lord for a certain amount of time, even if it's just a
day, it's too long, amen? And I remember 20 years ago,
23, but around 9-11, so that's how
many years. I remember there was a few days
where I went and I realized I was busy, and at the time, I had
some time away from ministry, so I wasn't studying to teach
and so forth. I realized I'd gone about three
or four days without picking up my Bible. And I'm glad, you
know, I hope that everybody in the room understands that's not
the way it's supposed to be. Thy word blesses the man that walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is
in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate. Day
and night. Yeah, I thought you might know
that verse, the way he's looking at me. Day and night, not just
once a day. Every day, in the morning, in
the evening, and at points in between. And you say, well, I
work the kind of job and I don't, you still hide his word in your
heart and you can quote scriptures or you can sing the hymns and
songs, hymns and spiritual songs and you can walk with the Lord
throughout your day. And so that's what I want to
make that clear. But since the time you got saved,
if you were to die tomorrow, can you say, I have fought a
good fight? I've kept the faith. Doesn't
mean you've been perfect, but you've kept the faith. You come
to Christ, he's got a hold of you, now you hold on to him,
amen? And so the fight is for the faith and for your own testimony
both. Now that's where some of us who
admit there have been times where we've let the Lord down. Our
testimony may have been damaged with some people. Sometimes that
damage will never be repaired. What do you do? Go on and don't
ruin your testimony with everybody else. That's what you do. Faith and conscience, look at
verse 19. Holding faith and a good conscience. This means you believe and behave
vividly. You can tell me, I can sit down
and say, well, do you believe this? Do you believe that? Do
you believe the Bible's the word of God? Do you believe in the gospel
of Jesus Christ? Do you believe that God created
the heaven and the earth? You don't believe in evolution.
Yeah, yeah, I believe that God created heaven and earth. And
you believe that salvation is by grace through faith and not
abortion. Yes, I believe that. You believe Jesus was divine.
Yes, I believe indeed in Christ. You believe in the Trinity, the
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. But yes, there are three in heaven
and these three are one. You could go down the whole statement
of faith and then you go out there and blaspheme and cheat
and steal and commit adultery and get drunk or smoke your weed
or whatever, getting high on whatever and living that way.
that what you believe doesn't mean a thing as far as your testimony
is concerned. People don't want to know what
you believe unless they see that you live what you believe. Now
that doesn't have anything to do with salvation. Salvation
is settled the moment you believed and were saved. If you repented
toward God with faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting
fully in what he did when he died on the cross, he shed his
blood and in death paid for your sins. And then they buried him
and after three days, he rose from the dead, basically saying,
I win. He conquered sin and death. He's
the victor, yes. And then you say, I believe that,
I'm with you, Jesus. And at that moment, saved. Works
don't have anything to do with being saved, but because you're
saved, it produces works. And that's what this is all about.
Then you're already saved. Now it's about you working out
your salvation and having a testimony so that people will see that
you really believe what you're preaching. Then they might listen.
That doesn't mean you only preach to people who you live around
all the time and everything. There've been plenty of people
who've had complete strangers preach the gospel to them and
they got saved. But what I am telling you is this, if you're
working with people, relatives, friends, neighbors, whatever,
and you want to see them saved, they're the ones especially better
see it in your testimony. They will not want to hear it
if they don't see it. Amen. Too many professing Bible believers
live in secret sin and behave badly. It's a shame and it happens,
but go to James chapter two. And people bring this stuff up
when it comes to salvation. And I don't believe that James,
we talked about this in our study of James. James is talking about
Christians, professing Christians and whether or not they demonstrate
their faith. No hippo yawning, please. James
chapter two, verses 18 through 20. You've heard this, most of
you have before. Hopefully you've read it a number
of times. It says verse 18, yea, a man
may say thou hast faith and I have works. Show me thy faith without
thy works and I will show you my faith by my works. Now picture
this, these are two guys who are both professing Christians.
And this guy's over here boasting about being a saint, but he lives
like the devil. And you're over here and you
may not be as loud about your faith. You may talk to people
one-on-one and not be, you know, because a lot of times that's
just pride. Being the loudest about your
Christian faith isn't necessarily the best. But you shouldn't be
ashamed of it. And so if somebody comes to you
and talks to you, you tell them about Christ. Who are they going
to listen to? The loud mouth or the guy they
see and they'll look at and say, yeah, you're the real deal. Or
they'll tell other people, yeah, that guy over there, he's the
real deal. See, that's who they'll want to listen to. That's what
it said. Verse 19, we quote all the time. Thou believest that
there is one God, thou doest well. The devils also believe
in tremble. How many times people died and
say, well, he went to heaven, I believe, because he believed
in God. Where does the Bible say you go to heaven for believing
God? Even the devils believe in God.
I mean, they've seen him. Satan has seen God and he's going
to hell. Why do you go to heaven? Because
you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and what he did to pay
for your sins. You're trusting in the blood of Jesus, not the
lies of Muhammad, not the whacked out nonsense of Buddha, not the
New Age nonsense and Luciferian nonsense and atheist agnostic
nonsense. You're trusting in the one who
said, I am the way, the truth, the life, no man cometh unto
the Father but by me. You're trusting in that Jesus,
you're saved. It's not by believing in God.
Jesus said, you say you believe in God. If you believe in God,
you'll believe on me. That's what he said. So someone says
I believe in God and they don't believe in Jesus. Jesus says
they're liars. They're closet atheists or closet agnostics
at best. Read verse 20 with me. But wilt
thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Not talking about salvation.
That's talking about whether or not your faith will produce
anything. It won't work in your life, and it won't impress anyone
around you, and you won't find anybody willing to listen to
you when you try to preach the gospel. Amen? And on the flip side of that,
too many do-gooders are apostate regarding the faith. Go back
to, I should have told you to keep your finger there. Jude. Three and four. Beloved, when I gave all diligence
to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for
me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly
contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
That means, you ever heard of a contender, a boxer, a fighter? Fight the good fight, contend
to the faith. You contend for it. Read verse
four with me. For there are certain men crept
in unawares who were before of old ordained to this condemnation,
ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness
and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. You
know what it means to turn the grace of God into lasciviousness?
That's what you're seeing today with all the Christians so-called
who are telling you that it's okay to be gay. and they put
up with all sexual sin and all this transgender stuff and bisexuality
and you name it. That's telling these people they're
saved. That's turning the grace of God
into lasciviousness. Now, I didn't even pop that up
there, but Jude, now keep your finger there on Jude. He speaks
of those who teach false doctrine and embrace sin as those who
separate themselves, then, in this context. Look at Jude. We
just read about those he's warning about that turn the grace of
God into lasciviousness. Now go down to verses 17 through
19 in Jude. Lewis says there, But, beloved,
remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles
of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should
be mockers in the last time. We talked about that Sunday.
who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. Context is important here. Read
verse 19 with me. These be they who separate themselves,
sensual, having not a spirit. Now, keep that in mind because
these separate themselves in order to sin. They separate themselves
from true believers. They set up their cults, their
little sects, S-E-C-T-S, in order to, and we've seen it in the
Jim Jones and the David Koresh, those are just extreme, there
are thousands of smaller little cults like that all over the
world. And it's, but you wanna hear the big ones? They're all
about sex. What'd you say? Ungodly lusts.
What do you think Muhammad was? Muhammad had the visions and
set himself up as a prophet. Then suddenly he can have sex
with as many women as he wants, including a nine-year-old little
Aisha. And then Joseph Smith is called
the American Muhammad for a reason, because he had the same satanic
false visions that said he could have all the women he wanted
his wives, including, I believe it was a 12-year-old. That's what you're gonna find,
all these little offshoots. The Bible is as current as yesterday
and tomorrow's newspaper. So back to 1 Timothy 19, holding
faith in a good conscience, which some, having put away concerning
faith, have made shipwreck. That's what I said earlier, wrong
belief results in wrong behavior. What you believe matters. What you believe can kill you. Thousands of people die every
year because they believe something wrong about blood transfusions,
thanks to the Watchtower Society. And they won't get a blood transfusion,
so they die. And there's all kinds of other
false religions. The same thing's true. But there is a separation
to sin, which Jude talks about, and that's, they made shipwreck
when they do that. There's also a separation from sin, and that's
important for warring a good warfare. How many of you have
read accounts, historical accounts, biographical accounts of war?
Well, didn't they get away from the fighting at certain times?
Didn't they dig in sometimes? You know, well, when it came
over here in the early Americans, one of the first things he did
was build forts to get behind the walls. That's a separation. So that's where, look at verse
20, separation from error. What's he saying? Of whom is
Hymenaeus and Alexander? These separated themselves in
error and Paul, we're going to see in a second, he then separates
from the error. It's a two-fold separation. But
we have to put distance between us and unrepentant heretics and
those in open sin. It's not a fun thing to do. Now,
it doesn't mean you don't speak to them at all in some cases.
It just means that you can't have a good relationship with
someone who is a heretic and is constantly espousing lies
and false doctrine or that is living in open sin. And as a
Christian, if you love them, you're going to tell them the
truth and then they're gonna push you away if they don't repent. It's gonna be one or the other.
And you have to be willing to say, you know what? I'm willing
to upset that person to tell them the truth. And you notice
Paul named names. That's a sin in evangelical Christianity
today. You get up here, I get up here
to tell you names of false preachers and false teachers and that sort
of thing. Oh, I just don't believe in that. I don't care what you
believe in. I'm gonna go by what the Bible
says. I'm gonna follow the example of Jesus and the apostles. Naming
the names. Why? Because that's like saying,
well, you know, if you go to that doctor, there's a medicine
he might give you. And if he does, it might kill
you. What is it? I just don't feel right saying.
What? I need to go. How about when
COVID was going on? I said, now they're pushing something. They're trying to get everybody
to do something. But if they do it, I'm afraid it might hurt
them. But I'm not going to name names. I'm not going to tell
you what it is. You're going to have to just
pray about it. Well, most have been smart enough
to know what I was talking about, probably. I loved you enough to tell you,
you better look out for that COVID vaccine, because it's not
really a vaccine. It's mRNA. It's a complete experimental
jab, and it could get into your DNA, and it can cause you to
have myocarditis, and it's causing people to drop dead, and et cetera,
et cetera, et cetera. Now, if you want to go get a
shot, it's a free country. Same thing with false teachers. I've
warned and warned and warned about a lot of false teachers
and warned about going just turn on YouTube and watching stuff.
And then we've seen people do it, and they drop off the deep
end. It's a free country. I can't keep people from doing
it. But I'm going to continue naming names and continue calling
it out. Now, Hymenaeus was mentioned
again, just real quick, in 2 Timothy 2. We'll come back to it in our
next study if the Lord leaves us here. And verses 17, 18. 2
Timothy 2, 17, 18. And their word will eat as doth
a canker, which is like cancer. of whom is Hymenaeus and another
guy named Philetus. Look what it says they did, verse
18, who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection
has passed already and overthrown the faith of Zion. Isn't that
a weird thing to have somebody say, well, you missed the resurrection.
Well, it's sort of like preterism. Preterism says 2000 years ago,
Jesus returned. You know that? And then they,
I think, hold on to a version of amillennialism most of the
time that now we're just waiting for him to return again, I don't
know. I can't, amillennialism is just mind boggling. You try
to read it. But anything where you don't
take the Bible at plain value, when the plain sense makes perfect
sense, seek no other sense. And a couple of you, we've had
conversations just in the last week about that. But note, there
are three others named Alexander in the Bible, so don't get mixed
up there. Not everyone named Alexander is a bad dude. We have
Hymenaeus and Alexander mentioned in our text, but there's an Alexander
in Mark 15, 21, whose dad, I believe, is the one who, is it the one
that carried the cross? And Acts 4, 6, there's another
Simon in Acts 19, 33, These aren't the same Simon,
I mean, sorry, Alexanders. I'm thinking of Simon and Sorcerer
and Acts. But again, this is very, very important if you wanna
understand your Bible, pay attention to the fact when there's more
than one person with the same name. Yeah, Brian? Yeah, that's what I was gonna
say. We believe that's the same one.
And that's why I say he's mentioned again there in 2 Timothy 4.14,
The one Brian just mentioned there, Alexander the coppersmith
did me much evil. The Lord reward him according
to his words. So Paul separates himself from
these types, but he leaves the work up to God. He doesn't take
matters in his own hands. So that's another thing. When
he says he hands someone over to Satan, it means he separates
himself and prays and says, Lord, they're in your hands now, and
I'll just let them fall into Satan's hands, and then you can
do what you want with them. Amen? Amen. So keep that in mind. We'll come back to Hymenaeus
and Alexander again. But then verse 20 ends, whom
I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. You know what? Sometimes that's
just what you gotta do. So considering they're still being named in
Paul's next epistle to Timothy, it doesn't look good for them. But it's on them. This is true love. We love you enough to tell you
the truth. We love you enough to tell you something that you
might not want to hear or like hearing. We love you enough that,
hey, You choose to go the wrong way, we're not gonna go with
you, we're not gonna enable you. That's true love. To accommodate
unrepentant sin and error is an act of hate. It really, it's
an act of hate. You know all these professing
Christians that are placating and accommodating the sodomites
in their churches and everything, they hate them. They don't even
care if they go to hell, they don't even care. They don't care
enough to tell him the truth. That's the most hateful thing
you can do to anybody. Again, imagine what I would think
of you if someone put a. Walked up here and put a poison
in my drink and you knew it was in there and you let me drink
it. And then I got sick, and I almost died. And then they
pumped my stomach, and I survived. And then I find out that everybody
saw the guy put the poison in there and didn't tell me. That would be hateful. I think
it's bad enough when I walk around and my pants is unzipped and
no one tells me. I mean, if you love a guy, you're going to tell
him that kind of thing. Amen? Somebody walking around with
something hanging off their nose. It doesn't have to be a boogie.
It might be something else. Something hanging off their nose.
Tell them. You love them. You don't want them walking around
looking like that. Amen? Well, how much more when someone's
in sin and you don't want to tell them that's wrong. The Bible
says that's sin. If you're a Christian, you just
tell them. A Christian shouldn't be doing
that. You need to repent. God says, the Bible says, if he loves
you, he'll chastise you, you better look out, you're gonna
get it. And if he doesn't, that means you're not his child. And
if they're not saved at all, you don't tell them to clean
up, you tell them, see, you love your sin, you need to repent
and be saved. Amen, amen. We would welcome everyone who's
fallen or forsaken us in the past if they simply repent with
sincerity. We quote this often, Luke 17,
three, take heed to yourselves if thy brother trespass against
thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgive him. Now that doesn't,
it's not just talk. Repentance isn't just words.
But if we saw sincerity in their talk, you can tell sometimes
the countenance, but also in their response. And that's Acts
26, 20. Paul said he showed first unto
them of Damascus and at Jerusalem and throughout all the coast
of Judea. and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn
to God and do works, meet full repentance. Repentance is not
works. Repentance produces works. And
if it's sincere, the talk will be there, the countenance will
be there, and the actions will be there. Amen, amen. And we look forward to the day
when there will be no more need for separation. It's not something
we enjoy. God doesn't enjoy it, he grieves
it. You can grieve the Holy Spirit,
and it can cause a separation between you and God. And you
can grieve one another, grieve your brothers and sisters, or
be grieved by brothers and sisters. Either way, I'm looking forward
to the time when there'll be no more partying over there,
amen? Father, we thank you, Lord, for this time in your word, and
we thank you for everything you taught us this evening. I pray that
my humanness and my frailty and my failures don't get in the
way of the message. Lord, that everyone can see the
truth of your word in spite of me. And Lord, that we would all
love this book so much that we're picking it up every day. And
Lord, that we're also wanting to share it with those who will
listen. Help us to be ready to preach the word, be instant,
in season, out of season, and to reprove and rebuke and exhort
with all long-suffering and doctrine. But the time has come where they
will not endure sound doctrine. And after their own lust, they
have to heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And we know
we're in that day, but Lord, help us to remain faithful. In
Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Stand, if you will. If
