Melting Under Pressure. This
is Ken Ham, author and speaker on science and the Bible's authority. Water makes life possible on
our planet, but there's another important process that makes
water so unique. Consider the way that water comes
together to form glaciers and snowballs. You know, when water
freezes, it forms a framework or a lattice. And ice has an
amazing way of dealing with pressure. For example, when you take a
handful of snow and press it into a snowball, it isn't the
heat from your hands that makes it stick together. The pressure
from your hands breaks down the ice's framework and makes it
melt slightly. It's this same process that allows
glaciers to become slippery and then move over land. We live
on the only planet known to have so much water, which is exactly
what we'd expect from a creator god. You'll learn more about
the unique design of the earth and about the full-size ark we're
building at our Bible-upholding website, answersingenesis.org.
