The Sovereign God Glorifies His King
Through Pontius Pilate, The Gentiles, and the peoples of Israel
by Doing Whatever His Hand and His Plan Predestined to Take Place

God glorifies Jesus through His enemies.
Pilate's flogging: Pilate's flogging shows Jesus' humanity (1)
Soldiers' mocking: The soldiers' mocking shows Jesus' glory (2)
Adorning Him with kingly attire (2)
The crown of thorns (2a)
The purple robe (2b)
Announcing, “Hail, King of the Jews” (3a)
Striking Him with their hands (3b)
Pilate's proclaiming: Pilate's proclamations show Jesus' nature (4-6)

Applications:
God will always glorify Jesus—and so should we!
