Smelling Salts

The deepest joy comes from living in reality, not the stupor of trivia. So God gives us smelling salts to wake us up: the fact that we are creatures, not God, death, grief, the unreliability of wisdom, and the unreliability of intention and beginnings. Just trust God with the twists and turns of life, accepting both happy and hard days from Him.
