Good evening. Good evening. I think Johnny's the only one

show you. We had a hot air balloon land
behind our house yesterday. Big, red, beautiful hot air balloon. It was just a Christian who does
it as ministry. And we didn't know anything about
them. But they parked out. I heard them kind of come to
a stop real sudden. And I saw that it was a balloon,
a truck with a balloon on the side, you could tell it's what
it was for. They come right out and they got walkie-talkies and
I'm like, oh no, that didn't look good. Just they did have
to make a landing, but they wanted to land here because the wind
had blown them off course and they didn't want to get near
a power line. And yes, where we live, if you're out past our
street, there's no power lines for a good way. It's all cornfields
and hayfields and all that. So I'll try to remember to do
that, maybe I'll show them someday. But the kids were beside themselves,
literally. That was pretty, pretty neat. Never had that happen
before. Have a hot air balloon laying in your backyard. But
they didn't have much wind, but it's weird because usually outdoor
it's too much wind. Yesterday was pretty still, so
I think that's why. When they went up a certain level,
it blew them in the wrong direction. Then they come down to where
they could go in the right direction, but it's too low. So, you know,
the wind up there changes and everything, and hot air balloons
can really be blown off course. So thank you for that coffee,
dear. And let's see, we got a couple of prayer requests already sent

I can see all that. And there we go. All right. Well, let's get into our current

don't talk over this. Leave your video clips and hold
your questions, comments to the end of. Day one, 313 since the October
7th attack. The real news doesn't get reported
by our useless news media most of the time. Most of you probably
didn't hear some of this, but the national security minister
is a man named Ben Gavir. He and a bunch of other Jews
went up on the Temple Mount and they prayed. And they're not
supposed to. It's under the control of the
Muslim imam or whatever up there at
the, not the Dome of the Rock, but the other, there's a mosque
of Omar, I think it's called. And, but you, well, let me show
you here. There's a picture of some of
them. They laid face down. prostrate and praying and that's
the first time that's ever happened and said that there's been a push now that
Jews are the Jews want their Messiah but they don't want Jesus
and there's a huge push for Messiah well I'm sorry but the Bible
says they're going to embrace a Messiah and it would be a false
Messiah Antichrist, Christ meaning Messiah. It'll be a false or
counterfeit Christ. And they're going to embrace
him. And we went through those scriptures at the end of Sunday's
message. I won't do it again right here, but they're going
to embrace him. And then three and a half years into the seven-year
covenant they agreed to with him, he's going to break it.
He's going to desecrate the temple they rebuilt. And he's going
to turn on Israel for three and a half years. to end the tribulation
where it looks like Israel's gonna be wiped out and Jesus
is gonna come in and save them. And that's what all this is leading
up to. And it's getting, it's getting,
there's no ceasefire in sight. You turn on the news, I flipped
through several channels and they're all talking about ceasefire.
There's no ceasefire in sight. Here, the report is, Ceasefire
talks to take place in Doha, but Hamas isn't even going to
attend. How you going to get a ceasefire? That's like, you
know, somebody calls me up and says, we need marriage counseling.
Oh, yeah? Well, when can you and wife come? Well, my wife
won't come, but I'll be there. That's not marriage counseling.
That might be pre-divorce counseling at that point. But the real enemy
of Israel in this conflict is Iran. They always remember that. Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Yemen,
they're all funded and controlled by Iran. But today, Iranian banks
were hit by a major cyber attack, and they're calling it one of
the largest in history. Couldn't happen to a better bunch
of whatevers. But the thing is, there's a lot of this going on,
folks. Of course, how many of you have seen what happened in
Columbus City? The city of Columbus has been
hit. The mayor keeps trying to lie to everybody about it. But
there's serious information out there now. And guess what? It
includes the script readers at the local TV news. And so that's why they're doing
the investigations and exposing this, even though it's a Democrat
mayor, because their information is now out there. I saw a screenshot
of, what's her name, Colleen Marshall. But she's just one
of many of those Democrat operatives in our local news media who are
now suffering the consequences of having a Democrat-run city. Now, the most important news
clip of this past week, though, as far as the situation in Israel,
is this one. That's Abbas from the Palestinian
Authority, who is controlled by Iran, Persia, part of the
Islamic Confederacy of the Golg Magog War. And we're going to
see that alignment with Putin, who represents Rosh, Magog, Meshach,
and Tubal. in the nation that Ezekiel talks
about coming out of the north parts. So that, and every time
you see that with Turkey and Putin and Putin and any of these
anti-Israel countries over there, you're seeing the framework being
set up for Gog and Magog. And of course, we always want
to say we stand with Israel. And to their credit, the Biden
administration has done some good things, not everything good,
and they haven't stood with Israel as strong as they should have.
But the reason why America hasn't totally been in collapse is because
they have done some good things. I'm afraid if Kamilah and Tampon
Tim Walz, if they're elected, it ain't gonna be pretty. She
is buttering up to the far left anti-Israel crowd. So we'll keep
an eye on that as well. But as I mentioned, we have these
Democrat party operatives pretending to be journalists. And once in a while, you'll find
a Republican in there and it's a never Trump Republican. Guarantee
you. The mindless script readers,
that's all those people are. There might be one in there,
once in a while. There was a fellow on channel four, was a Southern
Baptist Christian, and he was on there with Colleen years ago.
Some of you might remember him, I can't think of his name. Calvin
Ray, that's him. Now, I'm not saying he was the
best thing in the world, but compared to the rest, he was
a saint. But I met him once, and I think he was the real deal.
I think he's a Christian, and I don't know a lot about him,
so if some of you out there know, but something else, and that's
fine. But Ben Gelber seems like a really nice guy, but he's an
unsaved Jew. And most of the others are really nice guys and
people you like. You find out they're liberal
in theology, let alone in their politics. So they're, most of
them. Now the weather guys actually,
I think, have to do a little bit of work. But most of the
news people are just mindless script readers. That's all they
do. And every time they get their marching orders, we can see it.
And this week, the marching order, does anybody know what the word
was this week? One guess? Remember last week or week before,
it was weird. JD Vance was weird. Huh? No. It might have been the week
before. Momentum. Momentum was the word
this week. It's like they all wake up and
watch some liberal version of Romper Room. The word this week,
kids, is momentum. Say it with me, momentum. Now
say it over and over in all your news broadcasts. Say momentum.
There's no explanation for this. Battleground momentum. New numbers
showing the Harris-Walz ticket is gaining ground. Vice President
Harris gaining momentum. Momentum in some key states. This morning, Vice President
Kamala Harris gaining momentum. Gaining momentum. Gaining momentum.
Gaining momentum. But look, this momentum. This
momentum. Keeping the momentum. Harris's momentum. Harris's momentum.
You can't slow down the momentum. This remarkable momentum. Mission
number one is create the momentum and then keep the momentum. What
does momentum look like in the polls? Kamala Harris is doing
two things here. Number one, momentum. And number
two, momentum. But take a look here. Clear momentum.
So momentum it is today. Momentum it is. Democrats ride
a wave of momentum. She does have that momentum.
The Democrats are riding a wave of momentum. a kind of momentum. The Harris team is going to want
to keep this momentum. Keep the momentum going. They
want to keep that momentum. The momentum here is amazing.
The crowds are literally insane. This momentum, it just seems
day in and day out to keep getting more powerful by the day. The
trend is heavily towards Harris, and it's rushing towards Harris
in recent weeks. The vice president at this point
throwing the equivalent of a no-hitter in the first three weeks of her
campaign, hoping to keep that going with the Democratic convention
next week. What that tells you is, what
we've said over and over, are these people are airheads, and
just like Kamala, who won't do an interview or a press conference
because she's an airhead, if you said any of these people
in front of a microphone and just talk to them, you'll find
out they're airheads. So all they do is read scripts, and
the scripts are, it's obvious, and we've shown this over and
over and over through the years. How many of you remember the
COVID, Going back to the misinformation and the fake news we showed all
over the country, local stations and all these national stations.
And it's just amazing because what it also shows is that around
70 million or so people who vote for the leftist who's running,
Probably about half of those, they really are leftists. They
really believe in the Marxism that they've been taught in public
schools and in PBS and all the entertainment and Star Wars and
in Disney programming and Nickelodeon programming now and everything.
It's all Marxism that they're being taught. And in most of
the apostate churches, that's what they teach. The Protestant
apostates, Episcopalian Church, Presbyterian Church USA, Evangelical
Lutheran Churches of America, all these, they are apostates
preaching Marxism to their people. But then there's about 10, 20,
somewhere in there, a million people, have you noticed, that
swing back and forth between the left and the right candidate?
And why is that? Because they're stupid. That's
why. I mean, listen folks, if you're
against abortion, you're against gun control, you're against sodomite
marriage, you're against the castration and mutilation of
young children in the name of transgenderism, if you're against
Marxism, you don't have to even think twice about who to vote
for and who not to vote for. Only someone who's completely
brain dead has to even give it a thought. And so what do they
do? And they watch the momentum,
the momentum, the momentum. She's got the momentum, she's
got the momentum. Oh, I gotta vote for the one with the momentum.
And it'll be over and over until between now and November 5th. And they're gonna try to keep
Kamala, Kamila, in the basement just like they did Joe Biden.
So that they can program everybody and you won't hear the real person. Even liberal leftist audiences
of late night talk shows laugh out loud at the idea that CNN
is objective. Watch this. I know you guys are
objective over there, that you just report the news as it is.
No, I know. CNN makes it, and I know this.
Is that supposed to be a laugh line? It wasn't supposed to be,
but I guess it is. He was not joking, and he said
that CNN is objective. And his audience, which is leftists,
they couldn't help it. They laughed out loud. They depend on people being stupid. And number three, the COVID vax. They depended on people being
stupid, being sheep who will follow orders no matter what
the orders are. It does not keep you from getting
COVID. Never did, but we were all told it did, weren't we?
Wasn't Dr. Fauci one of them that told you
that you get the shot, you won't get COVID? He's now had it three
times. How many times has he been shot?
I got infected about two weeks ago. It was my third infection
and I have been vaccinated and boosted a total of six times.
Six times! I mean, it's criminal what they've
done to people. But you ask about all those people
lining up for the shot, how foolish can you be? First of all, line
up for a shot. You could ask anybody who got
it, tell me what you know about it. I just know it's supposed
to be safe. Don't tell me what you were told
about it. Tell me what you know about it. And they would look
you in the eye and tell you they knew nothing. But they trusted
their government. There's nothing dumber than a
person could say. I trust my government is one
of the most stupid things you can ever say. And we have shown
you over and over and over through the years, not just recently,
throughout American history. Even when the cause was right,
most of the time the government abused its people. Trust your
government. I believe Fauci's a victim of
his own love of money. Now hear me out on this. His
specialty is gain-of-function research in the lab, creating
the virus, which is bad enough. That should get you home. I'm
just saying. But his role with the vaccine
was in promotions, not in the technology. And I don't think
he really knew much about these shots. He was behind the COVID
virus. He wasn't behind the vaccinations.
So he was just as dumb as everybody else and lined up to get the
shot. And the shot he promoted will probably hasten his own
death. Now, this is from Dr. Peter McCullough. The COVID vaccines have at least
three mechanisms by which they could start a cancer or they
could promote an existing cancer. Number one, the messenger RNA
from COVID-19 injections could severely disrupt the body's ability
to repair damaged DNA. This breakdown is basic cell
processes could, I'm sorry, this breakdown in basic cell processes
could lead to uncontrolled mutations, greatly increasing the risk of
developing cancers. I tell you, I've seen people
pretend to refute him. They don't even discuss this.
They don't deal with the facts. They just tell you the same thing
they told you about the COVID facts. Well, Dr. McCullough is
wrong. He's been contradicted by peer-reviewed
papers and others who are experts in the field. So that settles
it. That's all they say. They don't actually tell you
why he's wrong. So listen, when you hear people
say that, listen if they actually give you any reason for why they
think that he's wrong. Number two, I don't know all
the specifics of what I'm about to read to you, but pay attention
to the last part. The S2 segment of the spike protein
which you don't have to know what that is to understand, delivered
specifically through the vaccine is suggested to critically suppress
key tumor suppressor proteins, such as P53 and BRCA. So there's
these proteins that suppress tumors. They are being suppressed
by what's in the shop. This suppression effectively
disarms the body's primary defenses against cancerous cell growth,
paving the way for tumors to flourish unchecked. Folks, that's
science. That's not propaganda. That's
not saying you don't know anything, shut up. That's all they'll tell
you in response to this. And number three, the formulation
of mRNA vaccines includes DNA process related impurities that
could carry proton cogenic properties. And the fragments that are detected
are the SV40 enhancer promoter and origin of insertion as well
as antibiotic resistance fragments that are used in the manufacturing
process. In other words, they are filled
with cancer-causing stuff. That's the bottom line. Those
are your three reasons. So in summary, the COVID vaccines
have at least three mechanisms by which they could start a cancer,
or they could promote an existing cancer, and it may occur more
rapidly because tumor defense systems are taken down. That's
what we call turbo cancer. You go into some websites, they'll
say, there's no such thing as turbo cancer. And you hear anybody
use the phrase turbo cancer, just turn them off. Why? They
don't tell you. They just tell you to turn them
off. That's what we're dealing with. But why? Why would big
pharma promote something that causes cancer, Jim? But that's a serious question
that these people have. Why in the world would they do
that? Well, I don't know. Maybe, well, what's this? AstraZeneca
looks to cancer RSV drugs for growth as COVID vaccine demand
wanes. So they're using up all the COVID
vaccine just in time for cancer to explode. Judy and I sat and
watched a report where they said that between now and 2050, Cancers,
they were focused on men. Cancers in men are going to exponentially
grow, in some cases, 250%. And you know what they mentioned
as causes? Everything except that vaccine. What's the one thing that we
aren't eating, consuming, and in some way doing Now, and between
now and 2050, that they did in the past. We are now being given
mRNA vaccines. That's the difference. There's
no reason for cancer to increase among men prior to COVID. And we're doing the same thing
except the COVID vaccines. And they'll even tell you, well,
a lot of these cancers are just with people who had COVID. And
they don't tell you they're people who also got the shots and had
COVID. That's another shell game they
play. You got to really listen to what they say to you. In a
shocking revelation, Pfizer's $43 billion gamble and the truth
about turbo cancers linked to mRNA vaccines. In a shocking
move, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has acquired CGen, a small drug
company specializing in treating turbo cancers. Now, why would
they do that? Because they know their shot
is giving people turbo cancers and increasing cancer by more
than 100% in some of the worst that you can get, lung cancers
and different cancers. I can't remember all of them
that they mentioned. Prostate cancer, colon cancer, all these. From time to time, we have to
remind everyone of this. When Jesus comes back, he's going
to kill them. He's going to destroy those,
as it says in verse 15. I'll read the whole verse. And
the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of
the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest
give reward unto thy servants the prophets and to the saints,
and them that fear thy name, small and great, and shouldest
destroy them which destroy the earth. Whether it's the human
beings on the planet, whether it's the environment on the planet
itself, Either way, the globalists are destroying this earth. They
are going to be behind the Antichrist system, and God's gonna come
and kill them all. And you should be on God's side,
not their side now, but if you miss the rapture, you better
make sure you stay off the mark of the beast and against them. But not just against them, you
better turn to Christ. Because there'll be people who
fight the Antichrist, and they'll go to the same hell the Antichrist
goes to, which would be a very sad thing, amen? Be informed,
pray and act accordingly. Anybody wanna comment or question?
Yes, Jim. We prayed Sunday for my nephew,
Joe, and he did get a decent report from his doctor that the
mass he had, they're just gonna keep an eye on, but between that
and the blood clots, he did get the shots. He's a federal employee,
he's an air traffic controller, And so he's paying the price
for that. Yeah. Yeah, because we didn't
even get into the myocarditis and the blood clots and the blood
itself. People are just having their
blood turned to gel and all kinds of crazy shit. And if that happened
once in a while, that this is happening all over,
and they're reporting it, but they just refuse to mention this
one thing that changed everything. Yep, Jane. So, you know, I think
we all know people that are like this, but I have a lot of relatives. One relative recently has COVID,
and we asked, somebody asked this person, And how many of
the COVID vaccines did you get? And this person said, all of
them. And then, but still, you know, they'll go get more of
them. Even though they got COVID, they'll go get more. Because
it's just something wrong. It's sad. I don't know
of any spirit-filled, King James Bible-believing, separated Christians
getting the vaccine. I've been told there were cases
where, because they were afraid they'd lose their job, they got
it. And I know a lot of other ones who said, well, it ain't
worth dying over. What good is having my job if
I die? Yeah, like we know Martha got
one set of shots and. She didn't last long after that.
No, but you know, sometimes you get so. Jane. Yeah, I was listening
to Scripp News today. It's mostly a gay thing, but
like HIV, because non-gays do get it, then they try to say
it's not a gay thing. But if you aren't having close,
intimate contact with people who have it, and almost all the
people who have it are in that so-called gay community, then
you really don't have to worry about monkey pox. But like HIV,
heterosexuals only had to worry about HIV if they used intravenous
drugs and used you know, a syringe that some
homosexual AIDS person used, or somebody who got it that way
and then kept, you know what I mean? If you trace it back,
you do just a little forensic research, you find out that it
originated with homosexuals. And then, what was I saying? The other way was blood transfusions.
And why was it in the blood? Because the gay lobby controlled
the Democrat Party, who was in power. And they kept that blood
from being tested. And so heterosexuals got AIDS
originally. Like Brian White, one of the
young men that died, he was very famous. He got it through a blood
transfusion. And that's how most heterosexuals are getting AIDS,
and monkeypox, and a lot of the, even hepatitis, which is the
one, is a hepatitis C. There's one that's more deadly
than the others. And most of the people who are heterosexuals
who get that, it's from that kind of lifestyle. And maybe
they were with somebody who was with somebody, but you trace
it, do those forensics, you'll find out that's where it come
from. Yes, perilous times, amen? Amen. All right, let's go ahead and
pray and get into our Bible study. It's all about prayer, and that's
what our strength comes from, the Word of God and prayer. So,
I'll give you a second to get your Bibles open. Ask Brother Johnny in the back
there if you would, up in the Bible study of prayer. Just to thank you, you continue
to protect us from all this, from a lot of evil that's overfilling
the world here. We pray you'll just help give
us wisdom to avoid it as much as, as much of it as possible.
And just to stay true to you and just continue to learn. We're short a few people tonight.
Brother John had to work so he can take off this weekend to
celebrate his 36th annual honeymoon. Brother Doug's having problems
with his eyes. And so if Doug's listening right
now, I miss you. I don't know what's going, but
we know Jessica's probably with us. She is. Robin's on. Robin Schmitz is on. Say hi to
Megan, Robin, and Eric. I said hi to Jessica, and we'll
say hi to Mark. He's probably right there with
her. and a few other things going on, but let's get into our Bible
study tonight. In 1 Timothy chapter two, we're
just gonna look at that first verse. Four points in prayer,
supplications, prayers, intercessions, giving and thanks, that's a mouthful.
And instead just hop, skipping and jumping, we're gonna look
at this. So we begin here with a study on the instructions given
by Paul regarding prayer. And so with that, we're just
going to read verse one together. So if you would read with me.
I exhort therefore that first of all supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. Amen. So Paul gives some specifics
on prayer. It is directed towards all men
at the end there, but this is a guide for prayer. And we should
always be about praying, yes, for our own needs, but our prayers,
if you don't include prayers for others, you're not doing
it right. As a Christian, we put God first and even our neighbor
second before we put ourselves. So what kind of prayer life is
it if you're not praising the Lord, praying for others, and
also yourself? It's not a biblical prayer. Now,
once in a while you'll throw a prayer toward God that doesn't
involve all that. I'm not saying you never do that.
But your prayer life should involve that, in that order. Your prayer
life should reflect that attitude. So, many never meditate on exactly
what these are. That's why we're gonna do it
tonight. Paul's exhortation to prayer, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and thanksgivings, all in verse one. Now, I wanna
give you this reason for close examination. First of all, many
seem unaware that there are differences between these words in this verse.
And so we're gonna clarify some things here for you. Secondly, many others assume
everyone understands those differences. And that's why a lot of preaching,
and I'm not gonna name names, I don't wanna sound like I'm
up here trying to elevate myself above other men. But I'm just
telling you, some of the commentaries I've read on this passage, they
don't even talk about it, they just skip right through it. They just assume everybody knows
everything about what these words mean and everything. So we're
not gonna do that. Paul starts and says, I exhort
therefore that first of all, and we'll just stop there for
a second. You notice that the first of all applies to the whole
verse, the word suffocations, which is the next word in your
text. He says, I exhort therefore that first of all, suffocations,
prayers, intercessions, give me a thanks be made for all men.
That's first of all, the whole verse is first of all. And that's
why we say that prayer, your prayer life should involve all
these things. I do not believe this is an order
either. It's not an order. Every time
you pray, you think, okay, first supplications. It's not the way it works. But
simply stated that you should perform each in any order, that's
the point. Each of these should be a part
of your prayer life. I love Matthew Henry, who said,
quote, Paul does not send him any prescribed form of prayer.
as we have reason to think he wouldn't if he had intended that
ministers should be tied to that way of praying, but in general
that they should make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving
of thanks. ministers a lot of times are
basically forced to pray certain specific words. They have prayers
they actually are required to pray and they're not their own
prayers. In some denominations every church
has the same prayers that they're going to read during that service
no matter where you attend. And that might be nice for McDonald's
Or, you know, like City Barbecue, any of these, Chick-fil-A. You
don't want to go to a Chick-fil-A when you're traveling and then
go in there and find out that they, you know, they don't have
the standard menu that you order from. And that's what Noah Hutchings
said, you know, when he traveled overseas, most, especially in
third world countries and places, he always ate at McDonald's.
Because there was hardly any other restaurants that were known
American franchises. And he said a couple times he
tried, and he learned the hard way not to eat there. He certainly
didn't drink the water. He always made sure he had bottled
water that he took with him on the trips and everything. And
that's why, because he could go into any of those, that restaurant
in any city, and they had the same menu, the same food. He
knew what he was getting. That's why we wanna read and
study the King James Bible. You pick up another version,
you have no idea what you're getting into. And if you have
a parallel, you get a parallel or read both of them at the same
time, compare them and you'll see, they're not the same. One's
poisoned waters, amen? So we begin with a look at supplications
in verse one. I exhort therefore that first
of all, supplications be made. He says, this is actually the
most common form of prayer, supplications. Why? John Wesley says, supplication
is here the imploring help in time of need. I may not admit
that my prayer life is frequently punctuated by supplications.
And sometimes it is actually intercession, and we'll get to
that in a minute. But sadly, the Lord never hears
from some people until they become desperate. And then they're making
supplications for the Lord to, you know, intervene. Oh, I need
you now. God, if you ever hear, and how
many times you heard him, if you answer this prayer, I promise
I'll blankety blank, you know, and fill in the blank. And then
I hear people admit that they pray that prayer. God answers
the prayer. Do they keep the promise? Too
many times they don't, which that's kind of scary because
Go back and read the book of Numbers. God kind of takes those
oaths seriously, you know. But anyway, let's move on. Then
Paul says something that seems a bit redundant then when he
just says that, I exhort therefore that, first of all, supplications
and prayers, women. Prayers is separate from pairs. Well, yeah, prayer can be used
in a general sense or in a more technical sense. There's a lot
of words we use like that. They can be used in a general
sense, and then there's a more technical sense for it. And anybody
give me an example of that off the top of your head, since I
didn't think of one just now? A word that people use, and it's
used in a general sense, but sometimes in a literal or specific
sense. Anybody? Well, you can, like,
I can call Yeah. Think of a church. You hear people talk about the
church, but wait a minute. There's the church, which is
everyone who's ever been saved. But then you might be talking
about BBF. You say, well, I was down, I was hanging out with
some of the people from the church. Who are you talking about? You
were hanging out with all these deceased saints that are going
to be with the Lord. How demented is that? No, that's because you're
using it in a, Different sense. There's the general sense of
the church everyone's ever seen. Then there's the technical sense
of the church, the local church. That's another example. Just,
yeah, Jo? I was just thinking of, when
you go on a trip, you say, I can't wait to get home. And home could
be just being in Ohio. Yes. Because Kenny will say,
oh, yeah, we're back in Ohio, yay. Yeah. And then, of course,
home is our house. Yeah. Yeah, I lived up here,
but I'd go home. I tell people, I'm going home
for the weekend, I'll be back next week. Home, you live here,
where are you going? Wolfsburg. Walk in the house,
hi mom, good to be home. It's exactly right. Of course,
we talk about going home, but some of us are ready to go home.
So there's another example of that. In worship, prayer is a,
solemn address to the Supreme Being consisting of these different
facets, adoration, expression of our sense of God's glorious
perfections, confession of our sins, supplication for mercy
and forgiveness, intercession for blessings on others, and
thanksgiving, or an expression of gratitude to God for his mercies
and benefits. Then it says, a prayer, however,
may consist of a single petition, and it may be extemporaneous,
written or printed. You have to, what's the key?
What's the word I'm looking for here? There you go. Context. That's it. You have to listen
to how words are being, I mean, our language is like that all
the time. And when I was growing up, I remember my grandpa, you
know, I said, man, that's bad. What's so bad about it? No, I
mean, it's good. What you say is bad? Because,
you know, I'm an 80s kid. That was bad. Michael Jackson. Because I'm bad. That was a bad
imitation. There you go. Prayer can cover the whole model
prayer, and I'm gonna look at that. We're not gonna do an in-depth
study of the model prayer, but this is not the Lord's prayer.
It's called that all the time. The Lord gave us this prayer,
but he didn't give it to us to pray. He gave it to us as a model. Matthew 6, 9 through 13. And it was amazing. I played
football, and the football team, the coach would always pray this
before every game. And a bunch of those guys I was
with weren't Christians. Some of them claimed to be atheists
and agnostic. But they didn't dare not pray this or repeat
this model prayer when the coach told us to. Let's read verses
9 through 13. Read it with me. After this manner,
therefore, pray ye, our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed
be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Now, that is meant for you to
meditate on, and then to model your prayers on this. It's not
meant, and there's told denominations who every time they have their
church services repeat this as though it is a prayer. Jesus
himself said, you know, the heathen think that for their repetition
they'll be heard, and that's not how you're supposed to do
it. He said it right there after this manner. After this manner.
He didn't say quote this or say these words exactly after this
manner, therefore pray. And we did a study on that. In
Luke, there's another version of that same prayer. But I wanna
mention this, the corrupt new Bibles delete portions of this
model prayer with many deleting the closing words. For thine
is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, amen.
Look that up in NIV, New American Standards, some of those new
versions. You'll see those words are gone. Pope Francis proposed
changing lead us not into temptation to do not let us fall into temptation. And because he just thought he
was smarter than God, Jesus messed up there, you know, Pope's gonna
fix up the words of Jesus. That's scary stuff when Revelation
22, 18 says, for I testify unto every man that hear the words
of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add unto these
things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written
in this book. Verse 19, and if any man shall take away from
the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away
his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city and
from the things which are written in this book. Don't mess with
the book. So the use of prayers in our
text refers to making simple petition to the Lord. And again,
don't try to use big words and elaborate phraseology and everything. You should talk to the Lord respectfully,
just like you would talk to anyone else that you respect. He wants you to talk to him.
It's a personal relationship you have with him. It's not a
formal relationship. You don't have to address him,
your honor, If I could, I would like to approach the, you know. That's not how you come to God.
We have a personal relationship with Him. Now, there's nothing
wrong with, you know, using His titles and all that, but what
I mean is, talk to Him. And some people make prayer so
hard, then they give up. It shouldn't be, it's not that
hard. Dear Heavenly Father, I just want to come to You right now
because of, or I thank You for saving me. You know, just, So
and so I just want to let them up to you. They're going through
so much right now and I will, you know, whatever. Just like
you would talk to not that I think you understand what I mean by
that. Not that any of us are in any way the same, but he's
a person. And you have a personal relationship
with him. We call him father. So talk to him the way you would
talk to your father. When you're showing respect to
your father. But then is the reminder to pray for others with
that word in verse one, intercessions. I exhort that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, and intercessions. Some of you know right off what
that means, it's to intercede for others in your prayers. Now, we don't do that a lot, but I
was a kid, there was times where I don't know why, but Wade, my
brother, would come up and say, go ask Mom if we can do this. Go ask Mom. I'm like, you go
ask her. No, she won't listen to me. He
would almost always talk me into doing it. But what I started
doing was I'd go in there, and he'd kind of walk in, stand in
the corner. I'd say, Mom, Wade wanted me to ask you. You know, mom was always gracious.
I've ever went to dad about something like that. They listen. Said
no a lot of times, but they listen. How many of you know God loves
you enough to say no a lot of times? Good fathers do that. So when it comes to loving others,
next to confronting the lost with the gospel is making intercession
for the brother. The most loving thing you can
do for a saved brother or sister is to lift them up to the Lord
in prayer. Now, James has a lot to say about the fact that if
you know that what you're praying about is something that you could
do to help them with, that is connected to that. If you offer
a prayer and you could help them out, that's not much of a prayer.
But that's what love is all about. First Peter 1.22 says, seeing
you have purified your souls and obeying the truth through
the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, See that you
love one another with a pure heart, fervently. So if you want
to do that, don't say you're doing that and not be praying
for one another. And some people like lists and
things, but it doesn't have to be like that. You know, I'm going
along the day, there's times where someone just comes on my
heart, on my mind, I just pray for them. And then other times
when I'm praying, I'll think about it. You know what I do?
Because you guys are so, we're not a Baptist church, but you're
so Baptist. You sit in the same pew, you
know? And so all I have to do is close
my eyes in prayer and think about where y'all sit and I'll pray
for you. So see, that's a good thing about attending church
faithfully. Because if you didn't, I couldn't do that. But I do. Many times I'll pray and I just
think about who's sitting here and I think about praying for
them. And as in all things our prayers
should be filled with what? Thanksgiving. And you know when
Thanksgiving is near, Christmas isn't far away. I exhort therefore that first
of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks. Even in the worst of times, we
can give thanks to God's goodness, presence, future blessing, and
I put dot, dot, dot, because that could go on and on, all
the things we could give thanks for. You know, numerous times
when I can't sleep, I'll listen to the Bible, or possibly a good
book, you know, but a lot of times what I do is I'll just
pray, and I'll end up going to sleep praying. There's been times
where, okay, well, I've enjoyed this prayer time with you, but
I'm gonna sleep now. And I go ahead and go to sleep like that.
Sometimes I go to sleep before I know I'm even asleep. I wake
up in the morning. I was praying, where was I? But that's a nice
way to go to sleep. When we are low, we should lift
God up with praise and thanksgiving. When you get low, liberals love
to say, when they go low, we go lower. That's why when that
Eric Holder said that, he said, when they go low, we go lower,
that kind of thing. Christians, when we go low, when we feel
low, what's the thing? It isn't to be all about you,
pity party, all about me. That's not how you respond. You
respond by getting your mind off of yourself and lifting up
God. It's an amazing thing that'll
happen. Lord, I have no idea how I'm going to get through
this. I don't know what's going on. People are crazy. People
are driving me crazy. Let me know, whatever it is.
But Lord, I'm just going to focus on you right now. I know you're
going to take me through this. And I just thank you. I praise
you. I love you. So I'm so thankful for you saving
me and not going on right here in front of you. That's how you
pray. And it's an amazing thing. You do that for not a, it's not
a time thing. You do that for a certain amount
of time though. And suddenly, It's almost like you turn around
and, now what was I upset about? It's an amazing thing that happens.
If we'll do it. And we're told in 1 Thessalonians
5, 18, in everything give thanks. For this is the will of God and
Christ Jesus concerning you. I just have to say, this does
not mean that we give thanks for being raped or having a loved
one murdered or for the Holocaust. There's some weird teaching out
there saying we should, Give thanks to God for everything,
even the bad stuff. And that's, the Bible never says
that. It says in everything give thanks. So when I was going through
a really bad time, and I'm gonna give specifics so you know what
kind of things I've been going through. I'll give you an example. Whenever I was ousted from a
church by a denomination, looking back I'm glad it got me out of
that denomination, I was done with it. But at the time it was
really hurtful. And hurt me on several levels.
And some of the men were just betrayed me. And it was just
horrible for a young preacher. I was a kid still. And that happened. I didn't say, well, Lord, I thank
you for these betrayals. I thank you that these men are
not good for their word. I thank you. I didn't do that.
What'd I do? I said, Lord, I'm thankful that
no matter what these people say about me, you know the truth.
No matter what's going on, you're going to carry me through. No
matter how this turns out, I'm saved and going to heaven. I
mean, that's how you give thanks in everything. It doesn't mean
you give thanks for everything. Yeah. Wouldn't that be more Calvinistic
then? You know, if you are thanking
him for the rape or the murder, like assuming that God caused
it. Well, if you are that, Honest of a hardcore Calvinist, you
shouldn't thank him for that because they believe he's responsible
for all that. But yeah, thanking him for those
things is wrong because we know he's not responsible for those
things. Those things happen because sin entered the world, not because
God preordained everyone to go through what they go through.
Now, there is this text here in Ephesians 5.20, it says, giving
thanks always for all things, but there's not a period there.
Giving thanks always for all things unto God. and the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do give thanks for
all the things that he gives us, all the things he provides
for us, all the things he has done for us. Not for all things,
period. And to keep that in the back
of your mind, we give thanks for what God does, not for what
Satan, the wicked, or sin, et cetera, does. I mean, we're not
giving thanks for October 7th and what happened to the Jews
down there. but we give thanks because God is protecting his
nation, and God's got a plan for Israel, and God would save
every single one of them if they'd turn to him. We can thank him
for all those things, and thank him even in the midst of all
that, in the midst of all that, we thank him for those things.
So it takes a little bit of thought, meditation, and discipline, Of
course, this is a very important verse in this context, Romans
8, 28, and we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
It does not say God causes all things, but it says no matter
what you face, God is going to work it out. That's what we understand. And He'll work it for good to
them that love God. By the way, for help in remembering
everything you've heard tonight, Ginny Albaugh, the creator of
amazing acronyms and parodies, came up with SPIT. Supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanks. So if that helps you remember
this study tonight, when it comes to your prayer life, just SPIT. Did you really come up with that?
Yes, you did. Yeah, we've got to watch with
him though. His can be dangerous. Whether or not you use spit,
you certainly must admit it has a charm of wit and will be difficult
to forget. And so we close. I exhort therefore
that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving
of thanks be made for all men. And that's what we're going to
pick up next time. But I want to close with a short reading
in the Psalms. Psalm 66. Psalm 66. If you do not keep a sense of humor,
you will go insane, amen? Some of you started insane. We
can't help that. Psalm 66 verses 16 through 20. I'm just going to have you read All
five verses with me. Give you a second to get there.
Psalm 66, beginning verse 16 through 20, read with me. Come
and hear all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath
done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth,
and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart,
the Lord will not hear me, but verily God hath heard me. He
hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which
hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me. Can you say amen to that? Amen.
God is always listening. So let's always be praying, amen? Pray without ceasing. Doesn't
mean you're praying 24-7 like a monk or a nun or whatever they
do in those monasteries. That's not biblical, but it means
you're always ready, instant in prayer, ready to pray at all
times. Amen, amen. Father, we thank you, Lord, for
this time in your Word, for all that you've taught us, and we
thank you for Those who are able to make it tonight when there's
some who aren't here for reasons we know of and others reasons
we don't know, but we just pray. For each one making intercession
for them because we love them. And we know you love them more
than we ever could. And we just on their behalf ask for your
help for whatever it is going on with each of them. And father,
we thank you for this time that we're about to spend singing
and Fellowshiping will have prayer again. Lifting up the request
of those who send them into us and those here in the building.
After we go off the live stream. And we thank you for that ministry
that we can have. The honor and privilege it is
to pray for others. And all these things we thank
you for in Jesus name, Amen. Amen, alright. Stay if you can. As we close with the song, The Lord bless thee, and keep
thee, the Lord make His face shine upon thee. and be gracious unto thee, and
be gracious unto thee. The Lord lift up His countenance
on thee and give thee peace. The Lord bless thee and keep
thee, All right, let's say goodbye
to the onliners on three. One, two, three. See you here,
there, and in the air.
