The Covenants of God - Lesson 2 - A Covenant in the Garden - Gen. 2:15-17; 3:15. Is there a covenant in the creation account? The account given in Genesis does not refer to God's command or commission to Adam as a covenant explicitly, but Adam was given a commission to rule over creation and a test of faithfulness in the command. He failed the test, forfeiting his life and the lives of his posterity as a result. In the curse we do find the promise of the New Covenant first revealed.
