I want you to turn to John chapter number 17. John chapter number 17. Just a moment, I want to begin reading in verse number one this particular passage of scripture. I began a few months ago on studying the eyes of God. Now understand this, we know this, as we begin to study the word of God, a particular subject or a particular thought or theme in the word of God, we realize that what we are studying is a living book. We must always go back to what is considered the law of first mention. If I am to know truly what the eyes of God are and what they have become, I must always go back to where it is mentioned the very first time in the word of God. I studied in the book of Genesis and I find in Genesis 1-10 that the Bible said the waters called he seas and God saw that it was good. Can I say it this way? That is the creative process of God. That is the very first time that you will find mentioned the holy perfect eyes of God. For six days he did a creative work. For six days, he created the heavens and the earth. And then in Genesis 1 31, the Bible said after the six days of creation, he saw that it wasn't good, but in completion, it was very good what God had created. So that is the creative process of God. But then we could go from many books, many chapters, and many paragraphs. It was a snowball effect when I began to study on the subject of the eyes of God. We could go all the way to Revelation and we'll see the consuming process of God. There in Revelation 19, 12, the Bible says, his eyes were as a flame of fire. That is right before that great millennial reign that refers to the judgment of a holy God. So we see the creative process of God, the consuming process of God. But tonight, just for these few moments, I wanna speak on this thought, the complete process of God. A process is a series of actions or steps in order to achieve a particular end. Do you understand tonight that nothing has ever snuck up on God? Dr. Harold Sightler put it this way, has it ever occurred to you that nothing has ever occurred to God? Everything God does is on purpose. Everything God does is for a reason. Every valley, every mountain, every situation, God always is in complete control of the processes in our life. So watch John chapter number 17 and verse number one. The Bible said that these words spake Jesus, watch this now, and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come, glorify thy son, why? That thy son also may glorify thee, as thou has given, I love this, as thou has given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou has given him. And this is life eternal. they might know thee, the only true God in Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sinned. Watch verse number four, he is referring to what he has done. I have glorified thee on the earth. I have finished the work which thou hast gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self, with with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Thank you, you may be seated. I'm interested in John chapter number 17 and verse number one. We find that the Lord Jesus Christ had been ministering. We find that the Lord Jesus Christ had been working miracles upon this life, this earth, but now, all of a sudden, he is talking to the Father. It was God robed into flesh speaking to God that was sitting upon the throne. But can we say it this way tonight? The Bible said, thank you Lord, the Bible said in verse number one, he didn't bow his head because that's a sign of humility. He didn't call on palm of his knees because that's a sign of humbling yourself. But the Bible said when Jesus began to pray in this instant, He lifted up his eyes into heaven. Can I say it this way tonight? When I pray, if I am physically able, I should bow my head in humility. When I pray, if I am physically able, I should fall upon my knees and call upon a holy God, because without the Lord Jesus Christ, I am not worthy to pray in who I am. Without the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, who I am, I recall upon God, oh, but isn't it good to know that when Jesus bled and when Jesus died upon the cross, he didn't stay dead, but the Bible said that three days later, the stone was rolled away. Watch this now, and the temple veil was torn in twain. And now because of Jesus, and now because of Calvary, we've got access to the throne. We've got access to the holy of all holies. I don't have to go through a man. I don't have to go through a religious leader. I sure don't have to go through the Baptist, but I can fall upon my face, and I can cry out the Father. We can talk to the Father this evening. But when Jesus prayed, He didn't bow his head. He didn't fall upon his knees. The Bible said in this instance, he lifted up his eyes to heaven. I began to ponder on this one thought. When I look up into heaven, I can see the sun, I can see the clouds, when the sun fades in the west, I can see the moon, and I can see the stars, but that's as far as these eyes can go. But when, thank you, Lord, when Jesus looked up into the heaven, he passed the sun, he passed the clouds, he passed the moon, and he passed the stars, he busted through a gate of pearl, he treaded on a street of gold, he wasn't distracted by walls of jasper, but the Bible said he lifted up his eyes into heaven and he looked at the face of his father. Jesus began to look. at the eyes of God. Can I say these and I'll be done? Number one, when he's seen the eyes of God, he saw purpose. In verse number one, the Bible said, Father, Jesus speaking, the hour has come. Glorify thy son. Why? Thy son also. may glorify thee. You know what Jesus said? Yes, he was born as a baby in a manger. Yes, he come out of a virgin womb. Yes, he lived a perfect and a sinless and a holy life. Yes, he changed the water into wine. Yes, he walked upon the water. Yes, he raised the dead, and made the lame to walk again, and made the blind to see again, but that wasn't his purpose, that wasn't his reason. But all of a sudden, when he looked past the moon and the stars, when he looked past the sun and the clouds, he said, Father, my hour now is come. Can I say it this way? He could raise the dead, he could make a miracle happen, but he came for one reason, And one reason only, he came to bleed and he came to die. He came to die for your sins. When he looked at the eyes of God, he saw purpose in the eyes of God. Number two, when he looked into the eyes of God, he saw power. In verse number two, the Bible says, as thou hast given him power. He's speaking in the third person. He's referring to himself. It was God in the flesh speaking to God upon the throne. As thou, me, Jesus, as thou hast given him power. Over what? Over all flesh. Why, Lord? That he, thank you, that he should, amen. That he should, amen. Can I say it this way tonight? If you've been washed in the blood, you'll never stay dead. You'll live for all eternity. Why? Because there's so much power in the mind of God. He has gave eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. You know, he just said, You can put every military might together. You can put every nuclear bomb in one room. You can put every kingdom and country together, and that is nothing compared to the power of my omnipotent God. I don't serve the old man upstairs. I don't serve a dead God. I serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He's the King of kings. He's the Lord of lords. You say, preacher, how do you know you're gonna live forever? Because it's not dependent upon It's not power, it's not dependent upon denomination or power. I am trusting in the power of God tonight. When he looked into the eyes of God, he saw purpose, he saw power. But number three, verse three, he saw passion in the eyes of God. What a definitive statement, and this is life eternal. They might know thee, watch this now, the only true God in Jesus Christ. whom thou sent. Savior, do you realize you're preparing to go to a cross? Do you understand in just a little while in the timetable of the Bible they will spit upon your face, they will plate a crown of thorns upon your head, they will beat you with the palms of your hands? Do you understand how you are about to suffer? And can I say it this way? He knew exactly what was about to to happen, he knew exactly how he would suffer, and he did it that the world may know there's not many gods, there's not some gods, there's only one true and living God, it's the God of the Bible, it's the God that we serve. A hobo is not God, Buddha's not God, a statue is not God, the false prophet Muhammad is not God, there is only one God, it is the God of the Bible this evening. When he looked into the eyes of God, he saw purpose, power, passion. Watch verse number four, number four he saw a plan. Ah, watch this, past tense. I have glorified thee on the earth. Watch this, past tense. I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. But yet in the timetable of the word of God, Calvary has not yet taken place. In the Bible, that stone has not yet been rolled away. But in the eyes of God, it already has happened. In the eyes of God, his purpose was already fulfilled. He knew his son would come. He knew his son would bleed. He knew his son would die. It was the purpose of a holy God. God, Jesus looked into his eyes. He saw purpose, power, passion. He saw plan, but number five, when I'm done, here's the message. He saw the preexistence of God. And now, that's present tense, before Calvary, before the empty tomb. Oh, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self, with the glory, watch this, which I had with thee. Before what, Lord? Before the world was? Before God ever said, let there be light. God already knew before God ever spoke this word into existence. God already knew. You say, God don't love me, are you crazy? He knew exactly why his son would come. You say, God don't care for me, have you lost your mind? He did all of this for one reason, knowing that his son would come, knowing that his son would bleed, knowing that his son would die for your sins. God ever created this world, he knew his only begotten son would come to this earth and bleed and die. When I look up into heaven, I see the sun, I see the clouds. When the sun faded this evening, I could see moon and I could see stars. But when he looked up into heaven, he looked directly into the eyes of a holy God. Let's stand with every head bowed, every eye closed. Ali, if you'll help us with this invitation. Every head bowed, every eye closed. No one.
