If you remember to pray for the
Parkinson family, they're seeking the Lord's direction in ministry.
They've got a possible opportunity. So they need your prayers. Let me get rigged up here. Alright,
Romans 13. Boy, that song will stick with
you. Are you with me tonight? Are
you in church tonight? Amen. Aren't you glad you're
not in the reform school? Prison? Amen. The hospital tonight? Glory.
Alright, we're going to do a couple word studies in this Romans 13
and just touch the tip of the iceberg. But nevertheless, let's
pray before we start. Father, we thank You for your
word here tonight and for Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God which
leads and guides in all truth. And thank you for this special.
Thank you for the hymns of the faith, Lord. And thank you for
the book tonight. And just thank you for preaching
and teaching. And just pray your people would
be fed tonight and filled tonight. Lord, truly on higher ground
we're heading into a big weekend, Lord, where we're looking to
be changed and we're looking to change. We're looking to change
this world for Jesus Christ. Lord, the enemy doesn't sit by
idle, doesn't take it lightly, and I just pray that You'd burden
Your people for the souls of men. Burden us to to want to
hear preaching, to want to have our kids be around preachers
and preaching, Lord, and that they might follow in that way.
Thank You. Bless Your Word tonight in Jesus'
name. Amen. Romans 13, verse 8. It says,
Oh no man anything in the context of tribute and custom and fear
and honor and that, but to love one another. For he that loveth
another hath fulfilled the law." Now that doesn't mean that you're
saved by loving someone. But he goes on here. For this,
thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt
not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness.
How are you doing so far? Thou shalt not covet. And if
there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended. In
this saying, namely, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor.
Therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law. Get Matthew chapter
7. When you consider what he just
said, You've got 613 Old Testament
laws. You've got 66 chapters in Isaiah,
52 chapters in Jeremiah, 5,175 words in Hosea, 16 books of prophets. I mean, that's a lot of Bible
back there. Matthew chapter 7 and verse 12. Therefore, all things whatsoever
ye would that men should do to you, do ye even to them. For
this is the Law and the Prophets." Five books of Moses, Isaiah,
Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Hosea, Obadiah,
Amos. That's it. One verse. Matthew
22.37 You'd think he would have expounded
and expanded it a little bit. Matthew 22.37, Jesus said unto
him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and
with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and
great commandment. The second is like unto it, Thou
shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang
all the law and the prophets. All this hanging on those two
little verses. Galatians chapter 5, lest you
think it ended with Jesus. Here it is again, well into the
church age. Galatians chapter 5 and verse
14. For all the law is fulfilled
in one word. They say, the Charismatic say,
good word, brother, good word. Fulfilled in one word, even in
this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. How can God, He calls
this the royal law in James 2, verse 8. How can God just take
so much All of that and just sum it up in this little thing
of love God and then just love your neighbor as yourself. Well,
let's look at the list there in Romans 13. Every commandment, every prophet's
rebuke and reproof and just summed up in that, yeah, just love your
neighbor as yourself. Let's look at the first one. Thou shalt
not commit adultery. You know what adultery is? Adultery is
a sin that's a symptom of a love for self. See, when I'm in love with myself
and we are, how do you know that? Because the Bible says so. No
man yet hated his own flesh. Now, we get on it sometimes.
If you don't talk to yourself once in a while, you just don't
have much spirit in you. If you don't just kick yourself
around once in a while and get mad at yourself and tell your
flesh to stop it and quit whining and complaining, then you're
just not real spiritual. But overall, you don't give it
to yourself the way you give it to your wife sometimes. You
don't lose your temper and come down hard on yourself. You know
why? Because no man hates his own flesh. He nourishes it. And he cherishes it. Adultery, and I don't care if
it's in person or on a screen or what it is, it's just a manifestation
of love for self. I want what I want and I want
it now even if I'm not supposed to have it. Thou shalt not kill. Well, you trace back why someone
kills someone. They say in the gangs, you listen
to the gang, they say, I need respect. I want respect. Well, why'd you kill that guy?
He looked at me funny. Because you just love yourself.
The rich love themselves. The poor love themselves. The
lost love themselves. The saved love themselves. Shall
we continue? Thou shalt not steal. I want
it. I gotta have it. I, I, I. iPhone. iPad. iPod. I, this. Everything is I. I and
my. Thou shalt not bear false witness.
You little kids, you just lie because you love yourself. Because
you lied one time and you didn't get a spanking because you lied
your way out of it. Now you have to lie your way
out of that one. And you're just so in love with yourself because
you just don't want to be punished. And you just want to get by and
get over and lie and lie and lie. Just because I just love
myself. I'm number one and I want my
way. If you loved your neighbor the
way you loved yourself, you wouldn't commit adultery with his wife.
You wouldn't steal from him. You wouldn't kill yourself. You're
pretty low down if you did. That's why he said, how can all
these rules and regulations and all these things hang on? Just
love your neighbor the way you love yourself. Well, oh, Dad, he's got a temper.
No, Dad's got a serious love for himself. And it feels good. It's gratifying when he lets
off that steam. And Mom, you know, she's feisty. She likes to get the last word.
No, her ego's on the throne and she just loves to have it that
way. And when I say something with the sword of the tongue,
it feels good and I'm satisfied because I love myself. If we could just come to the
place where God is first, and you don't even have to be
third. You know, we say Jesus, others, yourself. Just be tied
for second. I look at you, I see me. I want
something, and I say, well, if I want something, then if I give
it to Him, I'm going to get some satisfaction. If I bless my family,
if I bless my wife, if I bless the brethren, if I bless the
preacher, if I bless the people, love your neighbor as yourself. That's what he says there in
Romans. And he continues on. Romans chapter
13 and verse 11. You know when you see young people
push the envelope around here, you know what that is? It's a
symptom of a serious love for self. I don't care what anyone
thinks. We'll get into that. I can't
wait for Romans 14. I don't care what they say. I
don't care who stumbles. I don't care because I love me
first. I almost forgot that. Okay, verse
11. And that knowing the time, He
assumes they do, that now it is high time to awake out of
sleep. All right, let's look at this. Let's run this word time. Let's
look at some times. We're not going to exhaust it
tonight. But let's just do a word study on time and then I'll try
to give you a little admonition from something concerning this.
First we'll look at old time. The Bible talks about old time.
Old time is any time that's before your time. Isn't that heavy? Let's prove it to you. Joshua
chapter 24. They say, oh, Dad, he lived in
the old days. Well, that's right. And then
Dad looks at his dad and says, he lived in the old days. And
he did. Joshua 24. Joshua 24 and verse 2, when Joshua
said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel,
your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood, In what? Old time. So Joshua, he's really
a guy under the law, he's looking back before the flood and he's
calling that old time. Now go to Matthew chapter 5 verse
21. Jesus speaking, Matthew chapter
5 and verse 21. You have heard that it was said
by them of old time, thou shalt not kill. Well, when's that?
That's under the law. So what Joshua called old time
before him, Jesus just called old time before him. So old time is any time prior
to where you are now looking back. Now I want you to get something
here. Get Ecclesiastes chapter 7. Because we have to be very
careful. There's a fine balance here with
this subject of talking about the good old days. Yeah, the good old days, depending
on how far you're looking back. Let me tell you, we always paint
the picture a little rosier than it really was. That's the deceit
of all these pictures that everybody posts. Life isn't really like
that. You look at the picture of the
vacation. You weren't that happy on that vacation. You know, we'll have the graduates
and their things up here. What a wonderful life. I'd better
stop. Alright. Ecclesiastes 7, verse
10. I'll show you something here.
Say not thou, what is the cause? He said, don't say this. What
is the cause that the former days were better than these."
Now think about that. That's somebody stirring the
pot. Why did it used to be better
than it used to be? It's bad enough saying it used
to be better than it is, but now you're saying, why do you
think it's not what it used to be? Look what he said. For thou dost not inquire wisely
concerning this." Now that's not to be confused with ask for
the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein. And you'll find rest for your
souls, but they said, the next generation, we will not walk
therein. Not to be confused with that.
Not to be confused with looking back to a time when there was
maybe a morality or there was right or there was victory or
there was good, nothing wrong with that, and maybe taking that
and trying to apply that in your life. But what you don't want
to do is sit around and gripe about the present while living
in the past, because you're going to waste your life. I like hearing about biographies.
I like hearing about great preachers. I like hearing about those of
old. But I want to see a God for me. I was walking through that park
yesterday and listening to Elijah was a man of like passions and
he prayed earnestly that it might not rain. And it rained not for
the space of three and a half years. I said, where is the Lord
God of Elijah? And then he prayed again and
the earth gave rain. I said, Lord, where is the Jesus
that healed hurting sons? ever said no to somebody that
came with a hurting child. My son is grievously tormented.
My son is vexed with the devil. My daughter is dead. And you
know what he did? I said, where is that Jesus?
And a few days later I got an answer to prayer. He said, here
I am. So we don't want to live in the
good old days. It's not like it used to be.
You're going to waste your life. God is not bound in time. God is not bound by the moral
majority in charge. In fact, He works good when they're
little in number. He likes remnants. He likes weaklings. He likes those that have sorrow
and His strength is made perfect in weakness. So be careful always
thinking about, oh, the way it used to be. I like convenience.
Oh, the days on the farm when life was so simple. All right. That's old time. Now, Galatians chapter 4, we'll
look at the fullness of time. Galatians chapter 4. You know, if the good old days
were so good, you wouldn't have got saved, would you? But we
remember Egypt. Oh, the leeks and the onions.
We used to have so much fun and we'd glorify it and we'd magnify
it. Why did we get saved then? Because
it was dry and awful and empty. Galatians 4 verse 1, Now this
I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing
from a servant, though he be lord of all, but is under tutors
and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even
so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements
of the world. He's referring to the law. But
when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son
made of a woman, made under the law to redeem them that were
under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because
ye are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your
hearts crying, Abba, Father. I look at those 613 laws, and
I look at that bondage, and I think of how the conscience could never
be cleared, and how they had to go up year by year, and man,
I'd probably just bring up there and bring my little sacrifice
to the priest there, and walk away out the temple door and
sin again. And the conscience could never
be clear. God made a promise. God made an appointment. God,
before the foundation of the world, after the counsel of His
own will, said, I've got a plan to redeem mankind. And time started
blooming. And it bloomed and bloomed. And when God sent His Son into
the womb of a woman, you know what happened? Time was full. The fullness of time. It was
in full bloom. And I'm glad I'm on this side
of the fullness of time. I'm glad I'm on this side of
the carnate. Let's split the church over how
they got saved in the Old Testament. That's a good idea. It hasn't
affected anyone in 2,000 years, but we'll fight over it and split
the church. Was it law? Was it works? Was
it grace? Was it looking forward? Was it
looking back? All I know is this. I don't have to worry about it.
Because I've been born after the fullness of time. Old time.
Any time prior to where you are. Fullness of time. The Incarnation.
Alright, Luke 21. Luke 21-24. Jesus speaking of the signs of
the end. They shall fall by the edge of the sword. Luke 21-24. they shall fall by the edge of
the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations and
Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times
of the Gentiles be fulfilled." Alright? That's going to run
from the time of Nebuchadnezzar and when Israel succumbed to
world powers all the way up to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Alright? That's called the times of the
Gentiles. Alright? Here's another one.
Acts 3, verse 19. So we've got old time, the fullness
of time, the times of the Gentiles, and this is a good one, Acts
19. See, God's got a schedule and He's right on it. What's
going on in this world? I don't know, but God does. You know, if you really believe
this Bible, If the guy got in that you didn't want to get in,
you wouldn't fret so bad. You wouldn't think, this is it.
This is it. In fact, if you were ignorant
of anyone that ever ruled in the kingdoms of this world for
your entire Christian life, really not much has changed for you
and I in this country. You'd be preaching and teaching
and giving out the Gospel. and not know nothing about it.
I'm not saying that. We talked about that Sunday.
Acts 3, verse 19, this is called the times of refreshing and restitution. Brother Jay prayed tonight. He
said, Lord, we need to be refreshed. Acts 3, verse 19. Repent ye therefore. Repent. That's not a popular
word today. Why? John the Baptist said it.
Jesus said it. Peter said it. Paul said it.
Clear at the end of the book of Acts. We've got salvation
without repentance. We've got heaven without hell.
And we've got a church without holiness. And it's lukewarm. Repent ye therefore, and be converted. Why didn't he just say, 1, 2,
3, pray with me? That's what they say today. And
that's what you've got. Winning people with a silver
spoon in your mouth. And you've got a bunch of spoiled
brats, silver spoon suckers. And be converted
that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing
shall come from the presence of the Lord. Did you get that? The refreshing comes because
it's going to rain clean rain. because the green goofs are finally
going to get their way. No, the refreshing is going to
come from the presence of the Lord. And I can tell you something,
brethren, whether it be at the second coming of Jesus Christ
in the millennial reign when He rules and reigns on earth,
or whether it was this morning in your prayer closet, listen
to me, if you get in the presence of the Lord, you will be refreshed. And you need refreshing. But the times of refreshing In
restitution, He shall send Jesus Christ which before was preached
unto you, whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution."
Does that mean payback? Yeah, restitution. You know that Bible talks about
a dry and thirsty land where no water is. You ever just get
parched in this world? You know why? You're not home.
You need a refreshing. And there's a day coming when
you're going to be refreshed. There's a day coming when we'll
no longer see through a glass darkly. We were in Honduras, 110 degrees,
and they give you these little bags of water. And you just about
eat the whole bag and everything. It was so hot. And you just really
couldn't... If you were refreshed, it was
for a moment. I'll be glad when Jesus comes back and we're going
to be refreshed forever. New body, no sin, and then restitution. Now, in the flesh this is wrong,
but you ever like when somebody gets what they've got coming? I'm trying to think. If something
ever happened on the streets, you know, somebody cusses you
out or something, and they turn around and hit a pole, you know
you'd say, yeah! You know what? When Jesus Christ
comes, it's payback time. And we will be right, and we
will be justified, and we will be righteous, and we will be
in sinless bodies, and if we suffer with Him, we shall reign
with Him, and He's going to pay back Satan by binding him a thousand
years. Payback! Payback for all that
temptation! Payback for blinding them which
believe not! Payback for just deceiving and
lying and messing our kids up! Payback! Payback! Payback! Times
the what? Restitution. Restitution. Refreshing. He's going to rule with a rod
of iron. You think he's going to be turning
the other cheek? I don't think so. His eye offended. Put him in the court. Pluck his
eye out. Put him in the lake of fire. It's not that there's
not going to be bad people during the millennium. It's just that
there's going to be no devil and they're not going to have
an excuse to say, the devil made me do it. I want to show you that you are
living in the last days. 1 Peter 1. You think this is the last days?
Brother, I know it's the last days. 1 Peter 1. The last times. We've got old times, fullness
of time, times of the Gentiles, times of refreshing, Restitution,
now the last times. Watch. 1 Peter 1, verse 19, "...but
with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot, who verily was foreordained before the foundation
of the world, but was manifest in these..." What? Last times. Last times for you. Hebrews 1. Verse 1, God who at sundry times,
several times, different ways, times and diverse, different
manners, spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
hath in these what? Spoken unto us by who? His Son. Is He speaking unto us by His
Son? Then we're living in the last days. The last times. He said in Acts chapter 2, Joel
said, in the last days it will pour out His Spirit on all flesh.
And he said, this is that which was spoken of by Joel the prophet. So we're living in the last days. But then there's the latter times.
Go to 1 Timothy chapter 4. Last times, but the latter times,
I think, is the last days of the last days. 1 Timothy chapter 4. Listen, he said to the Romans,
you know this time. 1 Timothy chapter 4. In verse 1, "...Now the Spirit
speaketh expressly, that in the latter times..." See, we're in
the last times, but now this is the latter times. I think
it's the latter days of the latter days. And not the latter day
saints. I'm a latter day saint. If this
is the latter days of the latter days, you are looking at a latter
day saint. Amen. "...Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from
the faith." Giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Speaking lies and hypocrisy.
Having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Forbidding to
marry. There's one of them. That's a
doctrine of a devil. And commanding to abstain from
meats. That's a doctrine of a devil.
If you think that's going to get you closer to God. which
God has created to be received with thanksgiving to them which
believe and know the truth." Alright? I think the last days
of the last days, the latter times, includes perilous times.
2 Timothy chapter 3. 2 Timothy chapter 3 and verse 1. You know these verses. This know
also that in the last days perilous times shall come. Who is this
man Timothy? What does he do for a living,
Robbie? Timothy? Help your brother, Timmy. Your
name's Timothy, right? He's writing to a young what?
Preacher. Perilous times shall come. I
think when this list moves into the church is when you better
look up for your Redemption Drawth 9. Let's look at the list. Men shall be, here it is, lovers
of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection,
That means you're going after your own gender, children, just
wickedness. Truth-breakers. False accusers. Incontinent. Fierce. Despisers
of those that are good. Traitors. Heady. High-minded. Watch this. Lovers of pleasures
more than lovers of God. Having a form of godliness but
denying the power thereof." Alright, now go back to Romans. And I see some of you dozing
off on me, so we'll just perk up a little bit. We'll only be
a few more minutes. Old time, fullness of time, times
of the Gentiles, times of refreshing, last times, latter times, And now Romans 13 verse 11, "...and that knowing
the time, that now it is high time." High time to what? Wake up. I caught a copy of Sleeping Tonight.
And if I was sitting down there listening to me, I'd probably
be fighting it too on a warm day like this. It's high time. It's the right time. It's about
time to wake out of sleep. If he's saying that back then,
what's he saying today? He says, awake to righteousness. God's Word to the church is,
wake up! And I'm just going to look at
two quick instances. When someone fell asleep. Matthew
chapter 26. First we look at sleeping soldiers. And He cometh to the disciples,
Matthew chapter 26 verse 40. He told them to watch. That's
what soldiers do. You put them on a watch. What are they watching for? You
think they are armed because Peter lopped one of the guy's
ears off. But watch! He's talking about praying. He's
talking about He's heading for the hour of temptation. If there's
ever a time you can't let your eyes be heavy, boys. It's now. I'm going to go off and get with
the Father and you've got to get with the Father too. And
what did He find in verse 40? He cometh and He findeth them
asleep. You know who wasn't sleeping?
Those soldiers that were on their way. Now go to Acts chapter 12. Verse 5, Peter's in prison. They're
going to kill him. Verse 5, Peter therefore is kept
in prison, but what? Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. The prayer that we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and
powers and rulers. These soldiers weren't sleeping.
Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for Him. And when Herod would have brought
Him forth the same night Peter was sleeping, he couldn't do
anything about it. He's always sleeping, Peter.
Watch this, "...between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and the
keepers before the doors of the prison. And behold, the angel
of the Lord came upon them, and light shined them in the prison.
And they smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise
up quickly. And his chains fell off." You
know what those soldiers were doing? Those soldiers, they were
sleeping. I know God put a little something
on them. Those soldiers were sleeping, but God's soldiers
were praying. Are you sleeping when you're
supposed to be praying? Isn't that a deep thought? Because if you are, it's high
time you wake up out of sleep and start watching and start
praying. If we're in the latter times
of the latter times, and it sure does seem like we are, and if
we're not in the latter times of the latter times, we are in
the latter days because we know that because this is the time
He speaks to us by His Son. We need not be sleeping when
it's time to pray. Some of you are going to be sleeping
on the couch this Saturday night. You know what God says to you?
Awake thou that sleepest. Christ shall give thee light.
Sleeping soldiers. And then Acts chapter 20, sleeping
assemblies. What a night to preach this message
when I see some of you. I know the feeling. I sat in
a Bible institute for five years. There would be nights my eyes
would be rolling back just like this and I'd say, I'm not sleeping.
I'm not sleeping. And you know you kind of rub
your eyes You're almost trying to sleep by the few minutes that
you're rubbing your eyes. And you know what's amazing?
I'm going to be done in about four minutes. Bing! You're going to wake right up.
Hey brother, how are you doing? What's happening? Where are you
going? A pizza after work? Isn't that amazing? This flash! Acts chapter 20 and verse 9. And there sat in a window a certain
young man named Eutychus. He wasn't just doing like some
of you with your eyes rolled. He was in a deep sleep. He was
like those Ron Martin sons used to be when they were little. They'd suck the flies in. And as Paul was long preaching,
he sunk down with sleep and fell down from the third loft and
was taken up dead. We're going to just run through
some Scriptures. Go back to 1 Samuel chapter 4. Many are called and few are chosen.
It's been said that many are dead and a few are frozen. You
know what the Christian's death is called? Sleeping. So if you're sleeping, He's dead. 1 Samuel chapter 4. I want to
clear something up here in the Bible. I'm a loud mouth. Did you know that? Thank you,
Dan. I've always been loud. I like
to talk. I like to shout. I'm emotional.
I'm passionate. But sometimes I find myself if
I say, Amen, brother! You're like thinking, oh, I wish
he would culture up a little bit. And that Rob Searcy, they didn't do that in the Catholic
church. Let me show you why people shout
in the Bible. 1 Samuel 4, verse 1, And the
word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the
Philistines to battle and pitch beside Ebenezer. And the Philistines
pitch in Aphek. And the Philistines put themselves
in array against Israel. And when they joined battle,
Israel was smitten before the Philistines. And they slew the
army in the field, 4,000 men. And when the people were coming
to the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord
smitten us today before the Philistines? Let us fetch the Ark of the Covenant.
What's in the Ark of the Covenant? The presence of God. Of the Lord out of Shiloh unto
us, that when it cometh among us, it may save us. Now they
was a little bit shaky here. Verse 5, "...and when the ark
of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel..."
What? What? "...with a great shout..." Look
it, I love this. I love the King's English. "...so
that the earth rang again." But we shout, the earth rings. They
didn't say, I wonder what the Philistines will think of us. In fact, when the Philistines
heard the noise of the shout, they said, what meaneth the noise
of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood
that the ark of the Lord was coming to the camp. And the Philistines
were afraid. They said, God is coming to the
camp! And they said, woe unto us! For there hath not been such
a thing heretofore. When God came, the shouting started. 2 Samuel 6. I miss old Doug Schwader. He's
probably shouting on that live stream right now with those dogs
of his. 2 Samuel chapter... You see him on that thing, the
missionary connection or anything? He started howling. He said,
hoo! And that dog went, hoo! Right on the camera. You thought
he was a dignified missionary. 2 Samuel chapter 6 and verse
15. So David and all the house of
Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with what? And with
the sound of the trumpet and the ark of the Lord came into
the city of David, Michael Saul's daughter looked through a window.
She was dignified. She had one of those big, wide,
brimmed red hats. I heard a preacher say one time
this real dignified lady came into his office. His office was
a little disheveled, a lot disheveled, and she said, And she was having
big, serious problems in her life. And this was kind of a
rough preacher, the way they used to be years ago. And she
said, it's an awful mess in here. She came for counsel. It's an
awful mess in here. He said, so is your life, lady. Sit down.
Saul's daughter looked through a window and saw King David,
the king, leaping and dancing before the Lord. And she did
what some of you do when Doug Schwatter run the aisle. And
she despised Him in her heart. You know what David said in verse
21? I wouldn't put on no show for you. It was before the Lord
which chose me. And if I remember correctly,
had no child until the day of her death. Be careful who you're
judging for getting happy. Be glad they're not dead like
you. Amen. All right, 2 Chronicles chapter
15. Oh, don't run too far with it, Sharon. 2 Chronicles chapter
15. 2 Chronicles 15. Oh, I just long for this day. Verse 11, 2 Chronicles 15, 11,
And they offered unto the Lord the same time of the spoil which
they had brought seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. And they entered into a covenant
to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart
and with all their soul, that whosoever would not seek the
Lord God of Israel should be put to death. That's why you're
glad you're born after the fullness of times. Hey, we're going on
for God. Anybody not want to go, we're
going to kill you. This is a crazy book, isn't it?
You don't need Star Wars and all that. Get in this book. Whether
small or great. Whether man or woman. And they
swear unto the Lord with a loud voice. And with shouting and
with trumpets and with coronets and all, Judah rejoiced at the
oath. And they had sworn all their
own hearts. They had a fit over there. Ezra chapter 3. What weren't
they doing? Sleeping. Why? The presence of God was
there. You know if you heard those rumbling
of planes over here once in a while, it gives me the creeps. Why are
they flying so low? Is this another one of those Taliban's or something
coming through here? But if you heard a bunch of people
rumbling and roaring, you say, what's going on? I wonder if
that's not what our God does. Ezra 3, verse 10, And when the
builders laid the foundation of the temple, I mean, they're
not even preaching. They're just building something
here. But these people are excited about the possibility of the
presence of God. They set the priests and their
apparel with trumpets. And the Levites and the sons
of Asaph with cymbals. Where did my cymbals go? to praise the Lord after the
ordinance of David, king of Israel. And they sang together by course
in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord because He's good
and His mercy endures forever. And all the people shouted with
a great shout. It was holy chaos going on. Because the foundation of the
house of the Lord was laid. But many of the priests and Levites
and chiefs of the fathers who were ancient men that had seen
the first house, when the foundation of the house was laid before
their eyes, wept with a loud voice. And many shouted aloud
for joy, so that the people could not discern the noise of the
shout of joy, for the noise of weeping. For the people shouted
with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off. And everybody
said, oh, thank you, thank you. Revelation chapter 5. I won't walk you through Psalms and what it says about shouting,
but you do yourself a good... Now you say, I'm not that type.
I understand that. But maybe a holy grunt once in
a while. Maybe a nod. If my wife nodded, that would
be like me saying, Glory! I heard one preacher say, if
you're not like that, put gunpowder on your cereal and eat it in
the morning. Revelation 5, verse 11. Verse 8, let's just go to
heaven. You might as well get used to
it. See, you know why you don't want to shout at your flesh?
You know why they're all shouting here? No more flesh. Because
he's worth shouting about. If the stinking bills are worth
shouting about. Isn't it crazy? The Rochester
Americans. The Red Wings. You weren't shouting
at that ball game last night, were you boys? I get into the game. I almost
got in a fight at a Christian high school basketball game.
Yeah, Felicia's brother. I went there to support him.
I was feeling a little bad. Think what you want about it.
That's for another day. But this other team, they was
all dignified. You could tell they had a lot
of money and they had a whole bunch of cheerleaders. In this
Christian school, they had four cheerleaders. And they'd get
up there and they had the music and they were doing all this
stuff. And then these four little measly cheerleaders, they weren't
too much. And we were winning at halftime.
And our cheerleaders got up there and did their little thing. And
I said, I stood in a gym half this size. I stood up and I said,
it was quiet. You could have heard a pin drop.
We only got four, but look at the score. And this guy stood up. You imagine, pastor gets a point
at a basketball game. That's why I don't get too involved. Verse 8, And we have taken the
book, the four beasts, and four and twenty elders fell down before
the Lamb. Don't you long for the power
and presence of God? in your quiet time and in your
assembly time, having every one of them harps and golden vials
full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. So you've
got to have it all. And they sung a new song saying,
Thou art worthy to take the book and open the seals thereof, for
Thou has slain and has redeemed us to God. See, they're in the
presence of God. By Thy blood out of every kindred and tongue
and people and nation and has made us to our God kings and
priests. And we shall reign on the earth.
And I beheld and I heard a voice of many angels round about the
throne and the beasts and elders and the number of them was ten
thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands." Now
saying, this is in unison, with a loud voice, worthy. We're talking
gazillions of glorified bodies saying loud. If loud is loud here, like I'm
bothering some of you right now, what is loud up there? What is
perfect, holy, righteous, sinless? No flesh inhibiting loud up there. to receive power and riches and
wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. What time is it now? Where are
we now? I mean, the Mayan calendar says
this and goofball on the radio says that. What's his name? Harold. May we have the next caller,
please? You're a no-good, dirty, rotten,
Bible-denying infidel! You don't teach right! You're
wrong! You're in the Antichrist! Thank
you for calling and sharing. May we have the next caller,
please? I don't know about all that time,
but I know right now It's high time to awake out of sleep. He says in Romans, for our salvation
is nearer than when we got saved. Let's
stand. Come on preacher, come lead us in a song. Let's be awake
on this one.
