Good morning, everyone. It's
always an honor to bring you God's Word, and I want to thank
you for your patience. We've had some trouble with the
broadcasting as far as the sermons, but I want to thank you again
for your patience, for your faithfulness. Today is a comforting message,
the message that we last preached was about God's judgment and
people pushing things too far, especially those who call on
God's name and then they're not faithful. But Paul switches his
tone. We're going to see that today.
And We're going to see that God loves us as his servants, as
his children, and also those who are very faithful as his
friends. And we're going to see this precedent
in the Old Testament and in the New. So we'll be continuing our
sermon series in the Book of Hebrews. It's been a while. This
was supposed to be posted around June 11th. but it's getting posted,
looks like it'll be up for the 30th, July 30th, Sunday. And to catch you up to speed,
what we've been doing is, during these unprecedented times for
the church, for God's people. First, we wanted to show that
this is unprecedented for us because we've never gone through
this type of downfall. It's been about 500 years since
the church has been turned upside down this way. But we have a
precedent in the book of Judges. We have the Hebrew people where
they're completely out of control. They were given the promised
land. God always keeps his promises, but they weren't mature enough
to handle it. So the Book of Judges shows the meltdown of
a nation, of a society, and what the symptoms are. So we have
a case study, a socioeconomic, religious, political case study,
on how people break down into anarchy because of their hatred
for God's laws, for God's commands. Even pagans know better because
God's law is still upon their hearts. They call it natural
law. They know things like having sexual relations with animals
or with children is wrong. But we see even in the so-called
Christian church, the evangelical world, In America, that's not
strange anymore. You can be called a conservative
Christian and be a sodomite, and we see that. You can be considered
a conservative presidential candidate like President Trump was, and
he said that the transgender Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner,
could use any bathroom he or she wants in any one of his hotels. So this is how lost we become.
So we're in the book of Judges. And now we went after Judges
to the book of Ruth because we had the blessing of the book
of Ruth, it shows us covenant survival, that you can be a small
group within God's people that's trying to be faithful, and he'll
help you. He'll help us make it through,
and that's what Ruth is about, guiding Ruth to be the to be
part of the covenant line, someone whose life looked like it was
going to turn out to be a disaster, but through her faithfulness
and clinging to God, she's remembered forever in the line of our Lord
Jesus Christ. And now we came to the book of
Hebrews called The Faithful Outcast. This is the title of this sermon
series. And I said, for you and I, it's easy because when the
Hebrews who would be the true Jews that believed in Moshiach,
they believed in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, when they were
cast out, most of their people had basic natural law correct,
and they were being tossed out of a group that was still wicked,
but they had many of the laws intact. For you and I, it's easy
today. Our generation has gone completely
insane, and we have to separate from these people, and it's easy
to separate from them. It doesn't mean we don't love
them and give witness to them, but as far as our personal holiness
and sanctifying our family and our community, this is what I've
been stressing. We need to have strength in our
own communities. We need to cleanse our churches,
and we do this through expulsion, through separation. As you see with some of the new,
I have faithful friends in Tennessee, in Florida, in Colorado, in California
that care about me and I'm grateful for that, care about the ministry.
And they've been helping me out and I've taken the shekels here
and the shekels there and put some things together. So we did
a little bit of an upgrade where now when I sit and we deliver
the sermons, you can actually see the scripture in the background.
And many times the sermons were drawn out because I wanted to
do social commentary and application for the day. But now we're going
to do, we're going to break that apart. So we're going to do a
covenant report. We're going to call it weekly
along with posting the sermon. Both should run roughly around
a half hour or so, but we're going to separate that. So things
are more clarified. So for today's sermon, you could
turn to Hebrews chapter six. And again, of course, I'm grateful
to be back. It's an honor and a privilege to bring you God's
word. We're going to read together.
So the title of today's sermon is, You Never Waste Your Time.
And I want you to remember that. And I want you to be encouraged
today that some of you, especially those who are older and you've
labored with the Lord for a while, I want you to always remember
that none of your labor has been wasted at all, not at all. So God counts you as a friend. He appreciates your faithfulness,
and He does care about you. And we see that when I left off,
and we can show you the magic of this new intense technology. I'm actually gonna go to the
Sermon Audio page, the last sermon that we did. Point of No Return,
and that was part 15 in the sermon series. And the reason why we
went through that is because the scripture that we were in
basically the message we were giving was. In the Old and New
Testament, God always destroys the people
who have witnessed his power and rejected him. All the former
Christian nations who have blasphemed God's name have fallen. Nations
are not cursed for rejecting the nation of Israel, as some
poor idiots teach today. And Israel worship and Zionism
is big trouble. We're really hurting the Jewish
people with that. They are cursed for rejecting
the Lord Jesus Christ, who modern Israel hates. America will be
broken up while holding her rainbow sodomite flag in her hand. God
will raise a new generation in this land who will obey his commandments. So pretty rough language. But
I wanted to explain that. Many of you have been paying
attention to the news. And again, I'll be breaking up
a broadcast. We'll be doing a report on that.
Israel is in the middle of a potential civil war. Because not all Jews
think the same. And many of the Jews that evangelicals
are supporting are some of the worst groups in Israel. And I'll
be getting into that. So now you have a civil war in
Israel, which group do you support as you pledge allegiance to Israel?
Some evangelicals, if you criticize Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime
minister of Israel, they go nuts as if he's some type of authority
that Christians should respect. So what I wanted us to understand
is that this is the book of judges. Everyone's doing right. whatever they feel is right in
their own eyes. And we need to coalesce around a group that's
mature. And that's how we're going to
survive this. And God does appreciate that.
And that's why the title of today's sermon is, You Never Waste Your
Time. So you're 60, 70, 80 years old. Things might not have turned
out the way you thought in the country. That's fine. That's
none of your business, nor mine. You're a faithful servant to
the Lord. Be encouraged by that. And continue to push forward.
You don't know how much more time the Lord has given you.
to influence, and to bless people, and you are blessed in the Lord's
eyes. So even though I am a preacher of God's righteousness the way
I'm supposed to be, that's part of the gospel, following the
commands of the Lord Jesus Christ, after you are saved by grace
through faith, We don't have this hard-nosed Christianity
that's almost Islamic, where we don't have a relationship
with God, this cold type of faith. We do have a relationship with
God. And you can settle your mind and pray and speak to him
any time of the day, and he'll answer your heart, and he'll
comfort your mind. And you have to remember that.
And I want you to be encouraged today. So as rough as we had
to be with what Paul told us in Hebrews in the last couple
of verses that we examined, I want you to be encouraged today. So
what we spoke about last sermon to catch you up, we went through chapter six, verses one through
eight, Hebrew six. And it spoke about being called
to maturity, the danger of leaving God, leaving Jesus. And we're
told by Paul, therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine
of Christ, let us go on unto perfection. And I told you that
word perfection in the King Jimmy English, just like in the Constitution,
doesn't mean you could be perfect in every way that's blasphemous.
No one could be perfect like God or the Lord Jesus Christ,
but you are pushing towards maturity. Semper Reformanda, always reforming
in your life. Okay, not laying again the foundation
of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the
doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection
of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit,
for it is impossible for those who are once enlightened and
have tasted of the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the
Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers
of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them
again unto repentance, seeing they crucified to themselves,
the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the
earth which drinketh in the rain, that cometh oft upon it, and
bringeth forth herbs meet, for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth
blessing from God. But that which beareth thorns
and briars is rejected. and is nigh unto cursing, whose
end is to be burned." So the worst judgment is for those,
and I'll enlarge this a little, let me show you the face only
a mother could love. Yes, so what we have here is
those in the church that claim to love God and then betray him. They're the ones in all types
of trouble, serious, serious danger. And that's why we're
being faithful by separating from those people, by holding
them to the commands of Christ. As Paul said in 1 Corinthians
chapter 5 with the gentleman who was sleeping with his mother,
with his stepmother, The church thought they were being graceful
and showing grace by leaving them in the church. And Paul
said, you're crazy. Even pagan law, they would probably be put
to death for such a shameful act because the man actually
stole his stepbrother from his father. And Paul said, throw
them out. Even if they do receive the death
penalty, they might repent and their souls might be saved. Now
you compare what Paul's saying to what the church is practicing
today. And that's why we're in the type of shape that we're
in in the church. Now getting to the verses for
today, and we're going through verses
nine through 11. And again, I'll read that with
you. So let's take a look at that and we'll handle it verse
by verse. This is good news. This is showing
for those who are faithful, for those who are holding on to Christ,
you have not wasted your time. So don't look at the results
of evil and an unbelievably wicked generation. You did what you
could. You gave the witness that you
could. You planted the seeds. Be content in that. The same
way God was pleased with Moses, God was pleased with the Son,
Jesus Christ, in the middle of a wicked generation, in the midst
of people that were going to be judged. God can be pleased
with us, as imperfect as we are. So Paul switches the tone. So the Apostle Paul completely
changes the condemning tone of his message in these verses,
verses 9-12. After harshly warning of the
terrible judgment upon those who betray God, he reassures
his readers of their salvation. Christians must learn the principle
of, if it doesn't apply, let it fly. And that's a saying we
had in Brooklyn, in the neighborhood, and also at some of the jobs
I worked with, you know, regular guys, blue-collar guys. And something would be said.
It might have been about a group. This is when people knew better.
You might make a a comment about white Americans, black Americans,
whatever, Asian Americans, married people. And even if it was a
criticism, you know, if it didn't apply to you, let it fly. Let
it go over your head. Not everything applies to you.
And we need to understand in the Bible, a lot of these condemning
verses are for those outside the covenant. So don't be overly
guilty. One of the traps, this morbid
introspectivism that the Puritans used to fall into, some of them,
it would drive them crazy, was this constant examining of oneself,
but almost in an obsessive kind of way. God is pleased with your
works. When you're in faith, when you're
in him, he actually gets joy. from you. We're not robots. We're
living beings, souls that the Lord created and now we're redeemed. So don't fall out of that relationship
with God. He does love us. He does accept
us with all our weaknesses, as long as we're trying to cling
to him and pushing to be mature. So Paul totally changes his tone.
And he says, but beloved, remember, this is a contrast. So he gives
the condemnation. Now he's speaking to those who
are faithful. But beloved, we are persuaded better things of
you and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak,
for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of
love, which you have showed towards his name and that you have ministered
to the saints and do minister. We desire that every one of you
do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto
the end, that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through
faith and patience inherit the promises. So Paul is changing
Tony, switching gears here. And we have to realize that,
that not everything applies to us. And if you see our new high-tech
layout, I have the scripture, highlight a few. I enjoy using
BibleHub, biblehub.com. Want to give full credit to what
I'm using. And it has different translations and some good stuff.
So I appreciate it. So we see in this text things
are changing. This is the message to you and
to me. I'm far from perfect, obviously. I'm not always faithful. If God
spoke to me face to face, I would probably start repenting right
away out of fear. And that's natural. But he does love us. He does love us. And he does
understand when you're trying to cling to him and do what he's
asked you to do. So second point in our sermon
as we're going to look at verse 10 and then compare some scripture. Paul then explains to us we are
not wasting our time serving the Lord. God loves those who
serve him and remembers and appreciates our loyalty. He does, especially
when we live among a wicked generation. We need this encouragement. Boy,
do we need this. And I'm going to flip to Exodus
chapter 33, I already have it highlighted. We're going to see
God's intimacy with Moses. Now, if you remember from the
Bible, there was never meant to be a, as we would say, there was never meant to be a
temple. but a tabernacle, the temple
David wanted to build out of appreciation for the Lord. So
we're going to see in this text that God is very intimate with
his servants, and he does appreciate them. Listen to God speaking
to Moses. And this is, you could turn with
me if you want, Exodus 33, but I have it on the screen for you.
verses 7 through 11. Listen to this narrative. And
Moses took the tabernacle and pitched it without the camp,
afar off from the camp, and called it in the tabernacle of the congregation.
And it came to pass that everyone which sought the Lord went out
unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp. And
it came to pass when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that
all the people rose up and stood every man at his tent door and
looked after Moses until he was gone into the tabernacle. And
it came to pass as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy
pillar descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and
the Lord talked with Moses. And all the people saw the cloudy
pillar stand at the tabernacle door. And all the people rose
up and worshipped every man in his tent door. And the Lord spake
unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. I'm
not lying to you. We have this precedent in the
Old Testament. And he turned again into the
camp of his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man departed
not out of the tabernacle. Now why did God speak to Moses
thus? And we're told God speaking to Moses, and the
Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou
hast spoken, for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know
thee by name. Amazing, right? How beautiful. So we have a God that loves us. and listens to our concerns and
appreciates when we love him enough. and we do the things
that we're supposed to for Him. And that's what we need to remember.
So again, let's be encouraged. A lot of things we've had to
say that aren't always encouraging, but they don't apply to us, especially
the verses on judgment. So you can be confident in what
you're doing, what you're doing in your life. Remember, first,
it's God in your life, your relationship with Him, then it's your walk
with him, and then your immediate family, and then your church,
and then your community. So if you're working and you're
maturing, you're working towards perfection, which means to work
towards maturity, the Lord is happy with you. And be comforted
in that. Be encouraged. So I'm not lying
to you. This is what the Lord explains
to us in his word. So we have that text in the Old
Testament. And the last point we'll make
in our sermon We are exhorted to be patient in our labor for
God's kingdom. Those saints who live patiently
in a wicked world are our examples. The living God will shelter us
during the storm and give us our inheritance. That is a promise. And the scripture we will end
with, we will go to the Lord Jesus. Look at the way Jesus
speaks. Remember, When we have a precedent
for something, a commandment, a law, a statute, a theological
doctrine, when it's in the Old and then it appears again in
the New, it's ironclad. That's the principle. When you
can locate the principle in both the Old Testament and the New,
that means it's something that will go on till the end of time.
And we see Jesus acting with the disciples in a way that God
the Father acted with Moses. And at times Jesus himself acted
with Moses in his Christophany, his appearances in the Old Testament. So look at what Jesus says. We're
in John chapter 15. Again, you could see it with
me. Let me set this up so you could actually see the verses. So here we are. Again, shrink
the face. Only a mother could love. So
here we are. John chapter 15, verses 13 through
17. How beautiful are these words
from the Lord Jesus. Greater love hath no man than
this. that a man lay down his life for his friends. He are
my friends. This is incredible. If ye do
whatsoever, I command you. Henceforth, I call you not servants,
for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth, but I have called
you friends. For all things that I have heard
of my Father, I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen
me, but I have chosen you and ordained you. that ye should
go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain,
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he
may give it to you. These things I command you, that
ye love one another. And again, this is the spirit
of what Paul's saying. And we desire that every one
of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope
unto the end. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them
who through faith and patience inherit the promises. So as difficult
as it is, we need to push forward. And it's very difficult today
because we have an especially nasty and wicked group. We have a wicked group that's
pretending like they're God's people, and they're going to
get a lot of people hurt, and they're leading people astray.
And judgment will come. And I told you it's simple. God
gave them, these churches, a battle flag, that rainbow flag. Everything unhealthy, wicked,
everything that's not fruitful for men to practice, women to
practice, whether they're Christian or not, it completely betrays
what we know as God's law and what the best of the pagan philosophers
who acknowledge there was a God called natural law, they're breaking
every command. So we live in an especially dangerous
and traitorous time. So you need to be focused. Focus
on those around you. How do I know what God's law
is? Memorize the Ten Commandments. Memorize the Ten Commandments.
Everything we're suffering today from the central bank that's
able to pay off all political parties, Again, thou shalt not
steal. They're based on usury. Usury
is stealing. So it's against God's principles
and against his word. You cannot charge someone 26%
interest on a credit card. and think that you're following
God's word. And that's one place where the reformers dropped the
ball, is what made Europe unified, what helped strengthen the church,
the Roman Catholic Church, was the ban on usury. And that's
why Luther wrote some tracts. He wasn't being anti-Semitic.
He was angry at the lending class in Germany, because Christians
were banned from lending money and interest, but then Muslims
and Germany Jews would be able to have the collect interest on
loans and stuff. So we're breaking all these laws,
the laws against blaspheming, the laws as far as adultery is
concerned, every law, covetousness. So know the 10 commandments and
the 10 commandments summarizes natural law, God's law, from
the beginning of time. It was given to Adam and Eve.
All men and women are responsible for this. That's why we can't
back down. We need to teach it. So when you say sodomy is fine,
well, all cultures that were successful acknowledged that
that was wrong. Marriage is an institution that has been in
all cultures before Jesus Christ physically walked the earth and
came in the flesh because those are commandments that were given
to Adam and Eve and their children. So let's remember that. So stay
faithful. Be encouraged. And again, it's
good to be back with you. It's an honor and a privilege
to bring you the word. And I am grateful that the Lord
may see me as his friend and that I have friends in the covenant. And thank you all for your prayers.
And let's pray. And I pray that, again, this
word will be a blessing to you. Almighty God, the great and living
God, we thank you, Lord, the way you tolerate our weaknesses,
the way you walk with us. We pray, Lord, you continue to
push all of us, myself included, to maturity. I pray, Lord, you
continue to guide us. Let us not speak careless things
and blaspheme your name. Let us not teach the wrong things,
say the wrong things, things that contradict your word. So
we pray, Lord, you give us discernment during this time. And we ask
this in the name of your Son, our only King, Jesus Christ. Amen. God be with you, and God
bless you, till we meet again.
“You Never Waste Your Time!” The Faithful Outcasts Pt.16
Series The Faithful Outcasts
The Apostle Paul completely changes the condemning tone of his message in these verses. After harshly warning of the terrible judgment upon those who betray God, he reassures his readers of their salvation. Christians must learn the principle of, "if it doesn't apply let it fly".
Paul then explains to us we are not wasting our time serving the Lord. God loves those who serve him, and remembers and appreciates our loyalty! Especially when we live among a wicked generation we need this encouragement.
We are exhorted to be patient in our labor for God's kingdom. Those saints who lived patiently in a wicked world are our examples. The living God will shelter us during the storm and give us our inheritance.
