The High Priesthood of Christ

As we near the end of Hebrews, we are reminded of the warnings to not stray away from Christ. As the author of Hebrews has reminded us of Christ through the Ceremonial Law, we are required to be diligent in esteeming Christ in every area of life. In doing so, we will keep ourselves from hardening our hearts and falling away from the faith. This will also keep us from becoming apathetic to the ways of the Lord. As the Ceremonial Law was fulfilled in Christ, the underlying morality of the Ceremonial Law is still evident. For the Ceremonial Law is grounded in God's will, but the Moral Law is grounded in the nature and character of God; therefore, we are able to see Christ as our everlasting high priest, sacrifice, and altar. Let us find rest in Christ through these three roles of the law.
