Hello again, and welcome to the program. We're looking at the subject of praising the Lord. The hymn writer said, When I saw the cleansing fountain open wide for all my sin, I obeyed the Spirit's wooing when He said, Wilt thou be clean? The chorus says, I will praise Him. I will praise Him. Praise the Lamb for sinners slain. Give Him glory, all ye people, for His blood can wash away each stain. The word praise is the expression of approval or admiration. We find in Mark chapter 7 and verse number 2, we read, and when they, that is the Pharisees, saw some of his disciples eat bread with defile, that is to say with unwashed hands, they found fault. That's all they were good for. They were always finding fault with the Lord. Luke 23 and verse number 4, we read Pilate said, I find no fault in this man. No, it's quite a difference. Well, the devil would like us to be like the Pharisees, spend today criticizing, condemning, and complaining. To condemn is to have a negative judgment. To complain is to express dissatisfaction all day. Well, why don't we do what the hymn writer said? I will praise him. I will praise him. Praise the Lamb for sinners slain. Well, there certainly is lots in this world to complain about, but there's nothing in the Lord. We can praise Him for His mercy, which is undeserved compassion, praise Him for His grace, unmerited favor, His love and intense feeling of deep affection. There's nothing we can do to make Him stop loving us. For His power, the ability to do anything, we can praise Him for His faithfulness, His loyal, consistent, steadfastly there for us, and we can praise Him for answered prayer. God answers every prayer that a Christian prays. Sometimes He says no, sometimes He says not right now, or sometimes He says yes. I like that one. All right, but with lots of reason to praise the Lord. So let's make it our goal today, like the hymn writer has said, I will praise Him, I will praise Him, praise the Lamb for sinners slain. Give Him glory, all you people, for His blood can wash away each stain.
