Good afternoon, everyone. It's about 2.15, a little after in the afternoon on this Thursday, the 24th of July. We've been working through the book of Hebrews. Today we're going to be in Hebrews 8. You know, Paul spent a lot of time teaching about the new covenant. The reason being is that for all of those hundreds of years, people were were under the old law service, the Levitical covenant, and they were used to going in and offering all these animal sacrifices and turtle doves and red heifers and all this stuff. But Paul said, now we're in the new covenant, and he spends a lot of time talking about the advantages over the old covenant. to a new and better covenant. Now the things which we have spoken, this is the sum. We have such a high priest who sat on the right hand of the throne of majesty in heavens. A ministry of the sanctuary and of the tabernacle which the Lord pitched did not man. You hear that, free willers? The Lord pitched did not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifice for the purposes of necessity that this man of some want also to offer. For he, if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law, who serve under the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle. For see, saith he, that thou makest all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount, but now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry. Here's when he gets into the new covenant. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if the first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with him, he saith, Behold, the day is come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah. not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the days when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws anew in mind, write them in their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. That's the new covenant. And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for all shall know me, but the least of the greatest. All of God's elect know the Lord, because he knew them first, for knowledge. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, that's grace, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more, that's the everlasting covenant. And then he said, the new covenant he hath made the first old, now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. We're no longer under the old law of service. We're under the covenant of grace. So I'll turn this over to Mark. I hope you all have a good afternoon. And let us rejoice in the new covenant. The greatest thing that ever could be given to God's elect is the new covenant of grace. chapter 8 chapter 8 of Hebrews chapter 8 of the things which we where you spoken this is the sum we have such a high priest who is set on the high on the right hand so on the right hand of high on the throne of majesty in the heavens a minister on the sanctuary in the true tabernacle to lord of pits and not after man, that every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices whereof it is a necessity that this man have someone else to offer. For a few on earth he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law, who serve as an example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished that God was about to make the tabernacle. For see, saith he, that thou makest all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount. Well, I'm sure glad we're no longer under the old covenant. You know, they're trying to talk about how they're going to rebuild the temple over there in the holy land, which is not a very holy land when they hate Jesus Christ. and they're going to reinstitute animal sacrifices and they have the pure red heifer not knowing that we're under the new covenant of grace. God bless. I heard a guy today say Well, the Jews and the Christians are alike. They both believe the Bible. That is a lie. That is a lie. Mr. McFarland, Alex McFarland on American Family Radio. The Jews don't believe the Bible. They don't believe that Jesus Christ is alive. So don't go around telling everybody the Jews believe the Bible. It's a lie. Y'all have a good day.
