Thanks for hope today, tomorrow, Take your Bibles and turn to Proverbs chapter 26. Proverbs chapter 26, we're gonna read there from verse 23 to the end of verse 28. We'll stand please for the reading of God's word. Proverbs 26, beginning there at verse 23. Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him. When he speaketh fair, believe him not. For there are seven abominations in his heart, whose hatred is covered by deceit. His wickedness shall be showed before the whole congregation. Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein. and he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him. A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it, and a flattering mouth worketh ruin. Our Heavenly Father, we're thankful this afternoon again that we have Thy Word, thankful that we can study it, that we can understand the nature of man, We can understand the nature of the wicked. We can also understand that when we are saved, we have a new nature and that old nature is passed away. We cannot be having burning lips. We cannot be those who are seeking to flatter others to get what they want. We need to be true to thee. And we pray this afternoon as we look at these verses that thou wouldst help each one of us to allow thee to examine our hearts as we look at these verses. That we would allow thee to show us what the need is in our hearts and lives. That we would be careful to allow thee to direct us that we could be a blessing if we're saved. If there's someone listening that's not saved, that they might see the need to humble themselves, turn to Thee in repentance and trust in Thy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, for their salvation, and to begin to glorify Thee with their lives. So we thank Thee that we have this opportunity to look into Thy Word. May Thy will be accomplished. We pray that Thy Holy Spirit would have His way to do His work in our hearts and lives. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. You may be seated. The title of the message this afternoon is Watch Out for the Ugly Lips. Watch Out for the Ugly Lips. One of the things that's been around, I don't even know, I didn't do any research on it, but one of the things that's been around all of my lifetime is lipstick. Women have decided that, some women have decided that they need to have lipstick on. And that lipstick is there to try to accentuate the lips, try to make them stick out. The design behind that is not godly, it's of the devil. Of course, today you can get different colors of lipstick. I think back when I was young, I think it was mostly red, if I remember right, but I never researched it. But it's designed to make the lipstick out. Lips are part of our body, and they have their purpose, but they don't need to stand out. But in the past, as we look at these verses today, we know that God is building upon the verses that we looked at last time. Last time we looked at the tail bearer. The tail bearer is someone who is trying to destroy other people. He's someone who speaks lies, who is a gossip, and speaks lies about others to try to destroy them. someone who is not under the control of the Holy Spirit, and a Christian cannot be a tail bearer. Someone may have been a tail-bearer before they got saved, but you can't continue on being a tail-bearer. That has to stop. The Pharisees were tail-bearers. They spread lies about Jesus Christ. They tried to accuse him of things that were lies. They were not true. They never found fault with him. Even when he was on trial, they could not find anything that two of them would agree on. And they were tail-bearers. wicked people. And carrying on from that theme, today we have these verses. So the first thing we see here in these verses is that burning lips are ugly. Burning lips are ugly. It says here in verse 23, burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. Now, burning lips are angry lips. They're the lips of someone that's on fire inside and he's spewing out or she's spewing out their wickedness and it's a burning mess. And God uses two things here to describe these burning lips and the wicked heart. You notice that the burning lips and the wicked heart are connected. They go together. Jesus has already warned us in the scriptures that what comes out of our heart is what's the important thing. The Pharisees, they tried to accuse the disciples of eating food with unwashing hands, and they thought that that would defile them. Now, it is important to wash our hands to avoid spreading germs. If you touch dirty things and then you go and eat, you might get sick. because your body is not designed to take that dirt, not just dirt from the soil, but other types of dirt that can cause you to become sick. So there is a place for washing hands and for cleanliness. But Jesus was teaching the importance of the heart and how that when our hearts are evil, then that evil is going to come out of our mouths. It's just going to be that way. And our text tells us that as well. So God used two things here. A potsherd is a broken piece of pottery. In the book of Job, we find that God allowed the devil to test Job. And he allowed him to take away his family, first of all, and his wealth. And then, secondly, God allowed the devil to take away Job's health. And he had a whole bunch of boils. And those boils, they're painful. If you've ever had one, you know they're painful. He didn't just have one, he had many boils. The Bible says that in order to find some comfort, he sat in ashes. We talked about ashes this morning. He sat in ashes. And he would scrape his skin with a piece of broken pottery, a potsherd. It's a piece of pottery. And if you break a piece of pottery, you know that. If you take a cup and you break it, you know that it's sharp. And that's what he was using. That sharpness would scrape, and it would cause those things to open up. It would cause them to bleed. So Job was really quite the sight to see. It tells us that his friends, when they came, were shocked to see what Job looked like. It wasn't a pretty sight. And so the potsherd that Job used and that God is speaking of here isn't something that you would say, well, I'm gonna take this broken piece of pottery and I'm gonna hang it on my wall because it just looks so nice. You wouldn't do that. You generally take that and you throw it away. And so that's what God says here. He says, burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd. So they have no value. And it's true. If you know someone that has an angry mouth, which comes from an angry heart, a wicked heart, that person is really a destructive person. He's not going to help you. He's not going to help himself. You see, when people, modern society tells us if you're angry, vent your anger. Holler at the wind or something. Go smash a wall or something. No, that's not the answer. The answer is to turn to God and be saved, first of all, and then if you have an anger issue after you're saved, confess it as sin and ask God to take that away from you. We can't live that way. It's like a potsherd, but it also, God goes on and he says it's like a potsherd covered with silver dross. Now, when you're refining silver, You heat it up and the dross is the stuff you don't want. When you heat the silver, the dross is the stuff that floats to the top and you skim that off and you throw it out. And so here, God is saying, this person with the burning lips and the wicked heart is like the potsherd that's covered in silver dross. So instead of taking the silver itself to try to make that piece of broken pottery look like something, this person takes that potsherd and he covers it with the scraps of the silver, the impurities of the silver. So he makes it look even worse than it did before. So there's nothing here of any value, nothing here of any good. And so that tells us something in our own lives that we need to be careful. We cannot be known as having burning lips. And we cannot be known as having, being like a potsherd that's covered with silver dross. We need to be individuals who have clean hearts, and we need to be individuals that speak truth, but truth is never spoken in a fit of rage. But truth is spoken with a desire to help somebody else to be set free from bondage. Truth may hurt. It will hurt if we don't want to listen to it. But truth is always designed to be helpful. It's not designed to tear someone down. Whereas the tail bearer and the person with the burning lips, their desire is to see who they can hurt. They want to knock someone down. They want to belittle someone. They want others to join them in their jeering of someone else. It's like they talked about when Jesus would be on the cross that there was prophesied that they would be wagging their tongues and wagging, shaking their heads because, you know, they were mocking him that, you know, he saved others, why can't he save himself? That attitude. They were not interested in truth and they were happy that he was on the cross And they thought they finally had gotten rid of this person that in their minds was a pest and needed to be taken out of the way. They were the fools in their thinking. In verse 24, continuing on that same thought, it says, he that hateth dissembleth with his lips. So again, if you are one that is using your lips to to try to cause division, to try to cause trouble, you are someone who is full of hatred. The word dissemble means to disguise the truth until the opportune moment. So you speak as if you care, But eventually the truth of who you are comes out. So he that hateth, dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him. So he's building up deceit, deceit, deceit, deceit. That's all that he can come up with. There are people like that. that they come across as if they're your friend, they come across as if they're trying to learn from you and try to understand and how they can work together with you, but inside their goal is to try to destroy you. And that's what the Pharisees were. They came to John the Baptist, they saw all the people coming to John and being baptized, and they asked him to baptize them. But they had no interest in humbling themselves. They had no interest in repentance. They were only interested in trying to look as if they were authentic so that they could continue to spread their vile doctrines. And they would say, well, look, John baptized us. Obviously, we're telling you the truth. But you see, God gave John discernment. John wasn't a god. He could not see the heart of man as Jesus could, but God gave him the discernment to see that the Pharisees were corrupt. And so he would not baptize them. He would not endorse their false teaching, but he challenged them to bring forth fruit, meat for repentance. And that's something that we need to understand as well. Sometimes we can become so anxious to see someone join the church that we cloud over our eyes and we don't see what God is showing us because we think, well, yeah, there's something there, but we need more people, so we'll have this person for a member. We need to think, we need to be careful. We need to have discernment. So it tells us here that he that hateth dissembleth with his lips and layeth up to seat within him. And then in verse 25, when he speaketh fair, believe him not. That sounds like our politicians. When he speaketh fair, he says nice things. Don't believe him. So you see, when we identify this person, And if you have observed, if you've had an opportunity to observe, when our Prime Minister speaks, if he is speaking about someone that does not agree with him, his facial expression changes and he speaks with anger. You can see it in him. I've never met him, never shook his hand, never even been in the same place where he's been as far as I know, but you can see it in his expressions that he uses. He's a man that is full of anger towards anyone who does not agree with him. He's a vile man. He's an antichrist. We need to pray for him. But we also need to understand that he's not to be trusted. He's not the friend of God, and he's not the friend of God's people. And so, when he speaketh fair, believe him not. Don't fall for it. For there are seven abominations in his heart. Now the word seven in the Bible is used at times to speak of completeness. It's important to understand that every time you see the word seven, it does not mean that. But at times, that's how it's used. And that's how it's being used here. It's talking about this person is full of abominations. That's what it's telling us. There's not a good corner in this person's heart. He's just a vile person. There are seven abominations in his heart. Sad place to be. But that's how people become the longer they defy God. They don't have to be old. Our prime minister is younger than I am by quite a bit. But he has trained himself to be that kind of a person. He has groomed himself. He has chosen his associations are people who are just like him. vile individuals, and because he trained as an actor, as a drama person, he's very good at it. He's very good at it. He's been able to convince many people, but he's showing his true colors, and it's not a good thing that he's showing. Verse 26, it said, whose hatred is covered by deceit. You see, he's full of hatred, but he covers it with his deceitful speaking, with his deceitful actions. He tries to cover it, but it says here, his wickedness shall be showed before the whole congregation. There's a day coming when every individual that fits this description here in these verses is going to stand at the Great White Throne Judgment, and the books are going to be opened, and all of their evil deeds are going to be shown. There'll be no hiding it. There'll be no deception at the Great White Throne Judgment. Each one will be exposed for who they are. And the sad thing is that there'll be no forgiveness offered to them. There'll be no opportunity for a clean heart at that point because they're dead. Their opportunity is gone. They're physically dead and they're going to be going into a crisis eternity in the lake of fire. So God gives us these verses here to warn us and to help us to look at our own lives. Again, God's word is like a mirror. We can look at God's word and we can see, is that me? Is that what I'm like? And if you are, the wise thing to do is to turn to God in repentance and ask God to forgive you. Ask God to take that away from you. Ask God to cleanse your heart and to give you a new heart. Be saved and then start serving God. You cannot live as these verses describe if you're saved. You can't. There are people, you know, in the book of 1 Corinthians there were schisms. There were problems in that church. But they could not remain. The Apostle Paul was told by God to address that. And he did address it. And that had to change. And it did change. And that's the good news. But those who want to live that way, you know, they're miserable. If you talk to them, they're miserable people. They're not happy, but they're too stubborn most of the times to change. They run for liquor, they run for booze, or other booze, they run for drugs, they run for their rock music, they run for pornography, all kinds of distractions they try to find to try to soothe, but all they're doing is build, building more guilt into their lives. but they never find the peace that their hearts are longing for because they refuse to turn to God. They're too proud. The second thing that we have here is what are you digging for? What are you digging for? In verse 27, it says, whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. Again, the Pharisees were known for digging a pit. They were looking for a trap to trap Jesus in. They wanted to find a way to get him. And the ultimate, the final digging took place at the trial, where they kept throwing dirt, throwing lies, and none of them stuck. And Jesus went to the cross. He died on that cross. He was buried. He rose again the third day, and he ascended back up to glory. But what about the Pharisees? Most of them, Nicodemus was once a Pharisee, but apparently he got saved. But most of those Pharisees, they died and went to hell. You see, their plot, they thought that if we can get rid of Jesus, everything will be good. They didn't understand that by getting rid of Jesus, they were getting rid of any opportunity for them to be forgiven. So any person that rejects God, rejects Jesus Christ, they have no opportunity for forgiveness. Because there is no other God, there is no other Savior. Jesus said in John chapter 14 verse 6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. So we have the JWs, we have the Mormons, we have the Catholics, we have the Anglicans, the Presbyterians, many other groups that reject the biblical Jesus. Oh, some of them they have a Jesus, yes, even the JWs who used to be much more outspoken in their rejection of Jesus, but now they're trying to change their language to be more deceptive. But their hatred for Jesus is still the same. And they are digging a pit that they're not going to be able to get out of. And not only that, but God says that they take a stone, they roll it up the hill, And they set that stone and they hope, okay, so when this person that we don't like comes by, we're gonna pull the stopper away and let that stone roll on him and say, not our fault, the stone just happened to roll when they walked by. And God says, he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. So you set that stone because you want to cause harm to someone else, and you're the one that's going to be harmed by that stone. And Jesus uses, again, these practical illustrations to help us to see the spiritual pits that people dig, the spiritual stones that people roll, that they try to use to trap others. They try to use them to catch other people in their words. While it's they themselves that are the poison, and they themselves are the ones that are going to end up caught in their own traps that they set. That's the danger that people put themselves in when they defy God. when they refuse to follow the truth. That's a very sad place to be. There's a lawyer in the southern states. His family has ruled that area for, I think it's over 100 years. They ruled in the sense that they were the main law firm They had the police in their back pocket. They had the judges in their back pocket. And they would do things and they would run the area according to what they wanted. And the sad thing of that is that this current generation, the lawyer that is currently, I don't know how old he is, but he's an adult. He's probably in his 50s or somewhere around there. But he has taken it a step further than his father and grandfather did. And he has even been involved in the murder of a few people, even including he's charged now with the murder of his own wife and his own son. But he's a man who tried to use his influence as a lawyer to get what he wanted from the government. But he's sitting in prison right now. You see, he dug a pit. He even tried to stage his own death. He hired somebody to shoot him. And according to what they're saying is that his plot was that he would be killed so that his youngest son, or not, I don't know if it's youngest, but his son, his remaining son, he's only got one left now, that that son could claim his life insurance and he'd be set up more for life himself. That's how evil this man is. And the man that was hired to shoot him, he just grazed his head. He didn't kill him. And so that man was caught as well. But this person, he has dug a pit. He's rolled a stone. Now he is being caught. Finally, maybe there's gonna be some other crooked people that are gonna take up this man's cause when he's out of the way. But finally, there seems to be some justice that's coming to place in that area. It's a very oppressed place when you have your judicial system that is so corrupted. And that's where we are at today as a country in Canada. we have a very corrupted judicial system where those who want to live somewhat right, not that they're Christians, but they want to live with the freedoms that we have enjoyed in the past, our judicial system, even when those cases get to court, they defer them, they stall them, they delay. And they keep them from being adjudicated. They keep them from coming to a conclusion because right now they know that if they're gonna bring it to the right conclusion, they have to admit the person has their rights and the government has been wrong. So they're looking for a way to stall and stall and stall until they get what they want. But we can see how that the system that our governments have set up, how that it's backfiring on them. It's not working the way they had intended it to. Now, most people are blind and they don't see it. But the few that can see it, we can see that the system is backfiring. It's not accomplishing what they wanted as smoothly as they wanted it to. There's bumps in the road. Hitler was one who had a plot as well. He dug a pit. He set a stone. But Hitler ended up dead. And his regime collapsed in Germany. Nazism hasn't collapsed. But his regime in Germany fell apart. But Nazism is still alive. Many people in the Ukraine are Nazis. There are people in North America that are Nazis. So that system, that wicked system is still around, but it will be finished one day when the Lord Jesus Christ sits on that great white throne and the judgment is brought. All of those people that have chosen to dig pits, to set stones, they're going to find out they are the ones that are going to be judged and punished for their wicked ways. And then the third thing that we see here is beware of a lying tongue. It says in verse 28, a lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it, and a flattering mouth worketh ruin. So again you see the Bible gives us a much different definition of hatred than what our world does. In our world In our country of Canada, at least, if you talk about someone that is murdering the unborn, then you are someone who hates those people because you're telling them they're murdering their children. When the society says, oh no, that's not murder, it's just an abortion, that's just a fetus, that they're just taking it out of the way. When you talk about and you warn about the sodomites and the danger and the wickedness of their lifestyle, the society tells you, you hate those people. You don't have any love in your heart for them. And that has to be stopped. When God tells us that sodomy is an abomination to him. So there are many things like that, but a lying tongue hates those, hateth those that are afflicted by it. So the lying tongue hates those people that they're hurting with their words. They hate them. That's why they say the things that they say. That's why they spread the lies that they spread because they hate that person and they want to get them out of the way. They want to stop them any way they can. And connected with that, God says, and a flattering mouth worketh through him. You see, flattery is lying. When you go up to someone and you try to praise them for something because you want to try to break down their guard. You're not telling them something because you saw them do something good and you want to praise them for that good that they did, but you're trying to get close to them and get them to drop their guard. As we've already noted in verse 25, when he speaketh fair, believe him not. So God tells us that we need to put up a wall against the person who's got the burning lips, the person who dissembleth with his lips, the person who speaks fair but he's not telling you, he's not honest with you. God says put up a wall. Don't believe those people. Don't believe them. And so here he talks about the lying tongue and all of these verses, of course, are interconnected. They're all talking about the same thing. The lying tongue hated those that are afflicted by it, and a flattering mouth worketh ruin." So the flattering mouth is trying to break you down, trying to get you to drop your guard, and then they're going to come in with the knife. That's their purpose. That's their goal. They're not interested in truth. They're not interested in coming on side and helping to get the truth out. They're interested in destroying the truth. That's their whole purpose. And so, that's what we see very much in our country of Canada today. We see people that use flattery. We see people that if flattery doesn't work, they become more upset and they start to use more angry words towards those that they don't like. We see them digging pits and setting stones and trying to get you caught in those things. That's what we're seeing in our world today. We're seeing many people who are filled with anger, filled with hatred, wicked hearts that are simply acting out who they really are. You know, we have a very clear picture and we've talked about this many times, but it's a picture that we need to see and identify for what it is. And we have prior to the so-called pandemic that was announced back in early 2020, I believe it was, or the end of 2019. But before that thing was ever announced, they were role-playing, they were acting out, what are we going to do? How are we going to handle a pandemic? They were acting it out. Now, I don't know if the, acting out if that was leaked to the public or if it was intentionally exposed to the public. But it was exposed to the public. You can watch it yourself. It's there. And they talk about it, and they talk about it in such clarity that it very much fits with the actual events that happened after they announced the so-called pandemic. And they have been acting with hatred. They've been acting with a desire to get humanity to fall in line with their plan, to bow down. And how do you do that? Well, they have said, they have discovered, the way that you bring people into compliance, one of the easiest way is through fear. Get people scared. And if you can get them scared, it's easy to control them. If you can tell people and you can show people pictures, the store shelves are almost empty. What do people do? They start to panic. And we've heard that. We've heard of people going out and panic buying. Early on when this thing happened, if you remember, people went to the stores and you notice how scared they were, how foolish they were. They weren't even thinking straight. What did they stock up on? Toilet paper. Can you eat toilet paper? No. But the stores were running out of toilet paper. They weren't buying meat. They weren't buying vegetables. They weren't buying milk. They were buying toilet paper. Why would you do that? You see, that's totally irrational thinking. Totally irrational thinking. Doesn't make any sense. But that was because they were in such a panic state that they couldn't think clearly. And the governments were sitting back and laughing. Ha ha, we got them. Look it, they can't even think straight. We can tell them anything now. They'll buy anything we tell them. And that happened to be true. The government said, six feet apart, no handshaking, elbow bumping. Mr. Biden was in Saudi Arabia this week. And rather than shaking the hand of the Saudi prince, he did a fist bump. Now, what's the difference? But that still is part of this whole idea, this whole lie they've spread. Don't shake somebody else's hand, you're going to catch the bug and you're going to spread the bug. Don't shake their hands. This coming week, I believe it is, maybe it's next month, but soon anyway, our government is going to again be bringing in random testing. If you fly somewhere, you come back to Canada, they're going to do random testing, but they're not going to do it at the airport now. They're going to send you an email, and they're going to tell you on that email where you need to go to get your random test. So you see, they have people in such a state of panic, in such a state of we never know what's coming next, that they want to keep us off balance. Keep you standing on one foot so they can push you just a little bit and you'll fall. That's where they want us to be. And most people are right there. Right there. Caught up in this lie. And it is. It's a lying tongue. And these people that are doing this, including the doctors, including the politicians, they are showing us that they hate us. And we know. The Georgia Guidestones, which were just knocked down a couple weeks ago, someone went there and blew part of them apart, and then they were knocked down the rest of the way because they were damaged. But on those Georgia Guidestones, Into the concrete slab that was there, there was a statement that the world population needed to be brought down to 500 million people. Now, some people have been cheering and saying this is a good thing that these were knocked down. Because maybe now we can get away from that idea that we need to bring the population down to 500 million. But according to some reading that I've done, this is all part of their plan. Because they want to make people think, aha, you've won. We're going to change our plan. When in reality, they're not going to change their plan, but they're going to come up with a stronger drive towards that plan with their next move. It's all set up. And you know, there are people who would be listening to me and say, well, this guy's this conspiracy theory nut. Well, that's fine if you believe that. You're free to believe that. But again, I would ask you to just check and just look at the direction that our government has been going in the last two years. Just look at it. And look at who is really the conspiracy nut. When there was talk at first, the warnings were given that this all was part of the Great Reset. And people said, oh, that's a conspiracy theory. And then our own prime minister stood in front of the cameras and said, this is all part of the Great Reset. Who was the conspiracy theorist? That is the plan of the World Economic Forum. By the year 2030, this has been repeated so many times, by the year 2030, their plan is you will own nothing and you will be happy. Lying lips, a lying tongue, hateth those that are afflicted by it. They don't care. They talk about inflation, they talk about the stores being empty, and what are they doing now? Well, yes, because of the war in Ukraine that we're running out of food. What does the war in Ukraine have to do with running out of food in Canada, in Sri Lanka, in different, what does it have to do with it? Nothing. The war is in Ukraine. So if anybody should be running out of food, it should be the Ukrainians. Not Canada, not Sri Lanka, not any other country. It has nothing to do with us. And so we can see that this whole thing is being orchestrated. It's being set up. And yet, our politicians are still going around and say, vote for me. I care about you. I'll fix this problem. Just vote for me. A flattering tongue, a mouth, worketh ruin. Now, you want to buy into that? Go for it. Buy into it. Go out there and believe these liars if you want to. But as for me, I'm going to take the counsel of verse 25, when he speaketh fair, believe him not. I'm going to listen to what God says. And I'm going to try to help people to know the truth and to be set free from sin. But I'm also going to warn people, there's tough times coming. We need to be prepared. And when your food cupboard runs a bit low in your house, be careful. Be careful. Don't think, well, I guess I'm gonna have to bend to the new rules that are out there because I need food. No, that's not the answer. Don't compromise just because your stomach is growling a little bit. You're gonna have to learn to put up with that a little bit. because we're facing some difficult times. You know, when my grandparents came to this country, they didn't have many of the things we have today. They didn't have butter, they didn't have sugar. They lived very simply because the war had decimated a lot of stuff. It was a difficult time. And many people had to tighten their belts, had to learn to do without. We're much more spoiled today than they were then. But we may have to do the same. And we need to be prepared for that. You see, the important things man can't take away from us. You know, if you look in your Bibles at Matthew chapter 7, Jesus helps us to understand Chapter 6, verse 19. And it says there, lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." So if we today, if we cannot understand, those of us that are saved, if we cannot understand that there are many things that this world provides that this world offers us that are not really essential at all. We think they are. We've grown accustomed to thinking we have to have them. We're not willing to understand that we don't really need very much of what this world has. But we do need a heart that's right with God. We do need to be feeding on his word. And it's an interesting thing that when our hearts are right with God and when we're feeding on his word, we don't need nearly what the world says we need. We can do without so much of what the world has to offer if our hearts are right with God. And so during this time that we have right now, where we are still enjoying relative freedom, that could change very soon because fall is coming. The government still has evil plans. The same government is still in power. So their plans, they've already succeeded in bringing some of them in. The hope of the Christian is the Lord's return. And in the meantime, we need to be faithful, but we need to understand that we may need to tighten up. And we need, we may, we do need to, we not may need to, but we do need to function for those of us that are part of this church. We need to function more like a family. Helping one another out because we're gonna need to do that, I believe. The Lord carries. There's gonna have to be more of that because it's gonna get tough. And so we need to learn how to how to be frugal, how to be prudent, how to make things last, and learn to get by with less so that we're not robbing ourselves of the blessings that God wants us to have. If money and things are our God, then we're going to be robbed. We're robbing ourselves now already, but we're going to be robbed even more as things change. Because people will give in, they'll cave in and say, well, I have to. You know, it's like people have said already, I had to get the shots for my job. No, you didn't. You chose to, but you didn't have to. There's another nurse they interviewed in Ontario that decided not to get the shots and she lost her job. Registered nurse. But she wouldn't get the shots, she lost her job. Now she's trying to figure out what they're going to do as a couple. Well, if they would get saved, but from what I've heard of them, they're not. But if they would get saved, God would direct them as to what to do next, how to function in this wicked world. But that's for those of us that are Christians. We need to be praying for one another. We need God's wisdom. And just like we heard this morning when I asked the question about someone that has to fly tomorrow and asked, did you get the shots? He says, no, if I have to get the shots, I'm not flying. That's the right attitude. We need that attitude, not just in flying, but many things. We need to understand what is truth, what is right. And we simply need to say, no, I'm not doing that. And we need to serve God faithfully. Follow Him, because wicked people, like God describes here, they're here. They're all around us. And they're trying to break down the truth, break down the Word of God, break down the house of God. So we have a choice to make. We can survive. We can be a blessing to others, but we're going to have to choose to serve God faithfully, to identify the traps the devil is trying to set, and be careful not to follow him. That doesn't mean we have to be suspicious of every person, but we need to have discernment, to listen to what God is saying, listen to what people are saying, and choose wisely. as to who we're going to follow so that we can help others to know the truth as well. Let's pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank Thee again for Thy word. We thank Thee for the truthfulness of Thy word. We thank Thee for these warnings that are given to us that we need to pay attention to. We need to understand that even though society tries to tell us and false religion tries to tell us that man is inherently good, that word tells us something much different. Man is wicked, born in sin, conceived even in sin, wicked to the core, needing to be saved. And how important it is for us to understand that. For those of us that are saved, our righteousness is found in thy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to act upon that righteousness. We need to seek to help others to come to know the truth. We pray again for anyone that's listening that's not saved. Father, we pray that their hearts would be broken today, that they would see their need to humble themselves, turn to Thee in repentance and be forgiven and saved. We pray, Father, that this pride that is so prevalent would be broken and that humility would come in its place. Help us to glorify Thee, those of us that are saved. Help us to be teachable. to band together as the early churches did, to help one another for the cause of Christ, that we want to glorify Thee, and not to try to build ourselves a mansion here, but to glorify Thee. So we pray that Thy will would be accomplished, and we would be able to help others to know Thy peace and blessing in these days of grace. We pray in Jesus' name.
Beware of Ugly Lips
Series Proberbs
Lost people love to cause trouble. To them that is normal. They do not know how to get along with others. Christians cannot be part of that destructive way. We have been saved and given a new nature. We desire to be peace-makers.
