proclaiming the gospel to the
Jew first and also to the Greek. Shalom and welcome to the Everlasting
Nation, a radio ministry of International Board of Jewish Missions. I'm
your host Aaron Broughton, I wanna thank you for joining me today.
Today I'd like to share with you an article that was written
by the late Dr. Jacob Gardenhouse, who was the
founder of International Board of Jewish Missions. He was a
Jewish believer who desired that the gospel go to the Jew first,
as well as to the Gentile, and utilizing the local church in
that endeavor. And the title of his article
was published in the Everlasting Nation magazine, which he founded,
actually started in 1951. By the way, if you do not have
the Everlasting Nation magazine, or if you'd like to sign up for
a subscription or to get a sample copy, please contact us at ibjm.org
or call us at 423-876-8150. Now then let me share with you
the Divine Prescription for Desired Peace written by Dr. Jacob Gardenhouse. If there is anything this world
wants and needs most desperately, it is peace, which is becoming
more elusive by the day. Statesmen, politicians, educators,
and military leaders have tried everything in the book to obtain
it. Through the agencies of committees, through the avenue of conferences,
by the aid of commissions, and even by the attempt of compromise,
yet peace seems elusive, unobtainable, out of reach. But why? because
they have disregarded God's word which contains the only prescription
of peace. God's word clearly states that
this world will never have peace until Jerusalem will have peace,
and Jerusalem will never have peace until she acknowledges
the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why we
are enjoined to pray for the peace of Jerusalem according
to Psalm 122 verse 6. Had Israel accepted the Messiah,
not only would they have enjoyed peace, but they in turn would
have propagated this peace to the whole world. Having failed
to acknowledge him, neither they nor the world have known any
degree of everlasting peace. As long as Israel is away from
God and estranged from their Messiah and Lord, they will not
have any peace. However, the day is fast approaching
when Israel will acknowledge their long-expected Messiah.
In Isaiah 62 verse 1 we read, For Zion's sake will I not hold
my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the
righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation
thereof as the lamp that burneth. God demands constant, fervent,
and importunate prayer on the part of His people. But prayer
alone, without doing anything about it, can turn out to be
a farce instead of a force. Therefore, the prophet enjoins
us further to engage in a practical ministry among Israel. The Bible
says to say ye to the daughters of Zion, Behold thy salvation
cometh, behold his reward is with him, and his work before
him, from Isaiah 62.11. The Bible also records in Romans
10 verses 14 and 15, How then shall they call on him in whom
they have not believed? And how shall they believe in
him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without
a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent? As
it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach
the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.
These words make it very clear where our duty lies. We are to
pray, proclaim, perform, and practice. God has providentially
raised up International Board of Jewish Missions for such an
hour and has made it possible for us to help answer the crying
need for light and salvation. Our consecrated missionaries
write of unprecedented opportunities and are pleading for reinforcements.
Some have outgrown their ministry centers. It is only through the
loving and grateful response of God's redeemed people that
we can enlarge our ministry. We hope that our friends will
not forget to keep praying for us. Our needs remain the same
all year round. Opportunities for witnessing
and winning the lost sheep of the house of Israel have never
been greater. God's word tells us that when the Lord will build
up Zion, He will appear in glory. And when that takes place, we
are to rise up and have mercy on Zion for the time of favor
is yea, yet is set to come. According to Psalm 102 verses
13 and 16. This has been the Divine Prescription
for Desire Peace. This is written by Dr. Jacob
Gardenhouse, and it was published in the Everlasting Nation magazine.
And I pray this has been a blessing and a challenge to you, as we
should long and endeavor to prayerfully consider to reach the Jewish
people with the gospel of the Messiah, as well as our Gentile
neighbors as well. I pray this has been a challenge
to you today, my friend, and that we would follow our Lord's
command. And as we close this program, let's remember, as we
mentioned earlier ago, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And
I know that God will bless you when you do so. You've been listening
