Tonight we have a desperate need as a church and as individuals. And that is that you and I lift up the nation of Israel for the things that are happening and the things that are going through. Well, you say, what have they done for me? Okay, I'm glad you asked. You would not have this. all scripture is given inspiration of God. And Paul wrote in his epistles, what advantage is this thing about Israel anyway? He said, because from them, we receive the articles of God. But more importantly, he gave us a Messiah. I am so thankful. I am very concerned about all of the churches and the ministers who are teaching what we call replacement theology. That means that those who are preaching that teach that There is no Israel anymore as far as God is concerned. There's only the church and the living God. That's a lie. There is a difference. And tonight I hope you listen. I have done quite a bit of research for this message. I am comfortable with it. We're going to begin by reading a familiar portion of scripture found in the book of Genesis chapter 12, starting with verse one. This is the word of God. Now the Lord, Yahweh, has said, he has spoken unto Abram, that was his name before it was changed. And the word Abram means the high father. Then his name was changed to Abraham, which means the father of a multitude. and you and I are part of that multitude that God gave through him. Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house into a land. And that's the whole problem tonight is that land. from the River Euphrates to the River Nile to the Mediterranean Sea and to the border of Lebanon was given to Israel. Just this last week, there have been a great deal of riots in Jerusalem. What are the riots? What were they about? the Jews, God's earthly chosen people, wanted to go onto the Temple Mount and pray. We have been, I have been on that mountain many times. And the two things, well, three things actually that the Arab police will go after you. If they see you praying, if they hear you singing, or if you happen to be holding your wife's hand while you're walking around on the Temple Mount, they are so in great fear they'll lose that mountain and they're going to lose it. He went on to say, I will make thee a great nation. And Israel is a great nation. After a while, I'm going to show you from history, which I was a history major in college, but I never heard what I'm going to give you tonight, the history of the Jews in this land that we live. I'll be bold enough to say there would not be a United States of America if it were not for the Jews who lived in this land at the time of the Revolutionary War. I will make thee a great nation and I will bless God says, I will actually come down to you. And he did through the Jesus Christ, the Messiah. I will submit myself to you so you can know of me and be saved and born again and live forever in heaven. I'll make you a great blessing. I'll make your name great. And even the Muslims, the followers of Islam, Although they do it in a wrong way, they claim that Abraham was great. And in the Quran, he is lifted up. The only thing is they believe that the blessing came through Ishmael. And we know that's not true, it came through Jacob. I will bless them that bless thee, and I will curse them that curse thee. Here's what the, Apostle Paul said concerning the nation that turned their back on him. You see, it doesn't matter, and I hope you understand this because I could go on a long thing explaining it to you, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to say this. You would not be blessed if it had not been for Abraham obeying God Leaving the Kurds, the Kurd Alis, and by the way, that's exactly where the Muslims are trying to start the new caliphate, the new nation of Islam, the same place that Abraham was told to leave. Now, as I give you some history tonight, I hope this will help you to know what a blessing the Jews have been to this country. The first thing I'll read is from a speech that George Washington made, our first president. He made this speech in 1790. George Washington, the first president of this country, may the children of the stock of Abraham who dwelt in this land, the United States, to merit and enjoy the goodwill of other habitations while everyone shall sit under his own vine and his own fig tree and there shall be none to make him afraid. In 2004, the Jewish people the people of Israel that came to this country, they celebrated their 350th year as an anniversary of their coming to America. Did you realize that they were here 350 years ago? Most people are astonished to find out that the Jewish colonists first arrived in America in 1654. They arrived 30 years before the Germans, 50 years before the Scotch-Irish. The Jewish people experienced a very long and successful history in pre-United States of America. This success continued after the creation of the United States up to today. Jews, are you listening? And thank God for this. The Jews never suffered in America as they did in Europe. The United States had been a great blessing to the Israelites as Americans call them 300 years ago. In American history, there is no record even of one government that attacked them by living in the United States. Nor has there been any attack by a religious organization. Now they don't always claim them, but no denomination has ever persecuted Jews living in this country. The Israelites, fought in large numbers, percentage wise, in the American Revolution. Many were heroes and gave all they had that we might have in the United States of America. They fought with great numbers using the Civil War and at least six of them won medals of honor. One of the stock of Abraham, as the non-Jews call them, became a major general in the military. The Jewish people first came to America, you probably didn't know this, in 1654. They came to what is now the United States of America. Where did they come from? They came from Brazil. I don't know whether you have been keeping up with the problems in Brazil. They have oil that is all over the place, but they have a government that absolutely has left that country in shredded shambles. And I'm not trying to be ugly, but there are shortages everywhere in that country today. even toilet tissue in that country. And I cannot help but think that maybe I should let you know that the Jewish people first came to the America in 1654 from Brazil of all places. They came to suffer, they were suffering persecution in Brazil. Many of the Portuguese Jews fled to Brazil, which was then a Dutch colony. Holland lost the colony to Portugal and the Jews had to leave. One ship with 23 Jews arrived in New Amsterdam, that's before it was called New York City and New York State. Now New York City Late in September of 1654 was the beginning of the Jewish migration to the United States of America. There was a governor of the New York area. His name was Peter Stavesta. He did not like the Jews. He did not want them to be in his governing area. This governor, Stavesta, objected to the Jews and he contacted Holland about their presence in New Amsterdam. His orders allowed the Jews to stay there as a hallmark. I don't want them here. And he told that to Holland, we now know as the Netherlands. When in 350, AD when 50 years ago the Jews gave religious freedom that first sowed the seeds of religious freedom in the nation. Believe me, the Puritans and the Quakers and those people who came here to establish their own freedom, they believed in freedom for themselves but they didn't believe in freedom for anybody else. And although the Jews had a strict belief in their beliefs, they still said everyone should have freedom to worship God from their own heart. The freedom was to endure from the time that Haaland wrote this letter to Sylvester, quote, Now he's saying, make the Jews leave. And Holland, the Netherlands said, quote, shut your eyes. At least do not force people's consciences, but allow everyone of his own belief as long as he behaves quietly and legally. Give no offense to their neighbor and do not oppose the government. Great Britain, England. defeated Holland and renamed the city New York in 1667. Also guaranteed Jews full right of worship. They had full right to trade. They had full right to own property. Most Jews became merchants and were involved in trade. By the Revolutionary War, that's when we rebelled against England. By the Revolutionary War, Jews were full citizens and there was virtually no institutionalized prejudice against them. There were no laws specifically enacted against the Jewish people. and no forced conversion from Judaism. History does not report any Jewish business or home destroyed because of their religion. The Jewish community was small, only about 3000, but they blended in to the United States of America. When the Revolutionary War started, among the entire Jewish community, they joined in the cause to break away from Great Britain and be a country of our own. This was the time the Hebrews began to shine in American history. Jewish merchants rallied to the American Revolution. They supplied the army, this small number of Jews. They supplied our army, our poor army led by George Washington. And they bought food and they bought the powder to fill the guns. Jewish merchants used their ships to blockade runners bringing supplies from Europe. And Aaron Lopez, of Newport, Rhode Island, used his 30 ships, think of that, and supplied the American army. Most Jewish merchants lost all that they had in the Revolutionary War to help us to win our freedom. The Hebrews fought in the war and some attained high military ranks. For example, the British seriously wounded Solomon Bush in battle and captured him. They soon freed him and he then rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Continental Army. Francis Salvador was the first Jewish person elected to a state legislature. South Carolina elected him to the General Assembly. Later, the people elected him as a delegate to the State Revolutionary Congress to help write our Constitution. In 1776, he was killed in a battle fighting the British that you and I might have freedom. He, this man was George Washington's personal doctor. Dr. Philip Moses Russell was a Jew. He was with the general at Valley Forge. If you studied anything about that, you know that wasn't paradise. And suffered through the terrible winter ordeal. But the most famous Jewish person in the revolution was Hyman Solomon. Robert Morris, the first treasurer of the United States, called Hyman Solomon our little Jewish banker. Solomon was born in Poland and in 1740, he traveled throughout Europe. He became fluent in seven languages and international finances. He came to America in 1772 and immediately joined the Sons of Liberty in New York. The Sons of Liberty, that Jew became one of those. When the war broke out, He stayed in New York and worked behind the British lines. The British captured him as a spy and imprisoned him. However, he was freed. He was captured a second time as a spy and he was sentenced to death. Solomon was able to escape and settle in Philadelphia. But in the process, he lost all of his wealth. In Philadelphia, he started over again and established a successful bank firm. He became the top banker in America. His fluency in languages, seven of them, became extremely important and having the knowledge of international finance enabled him to become the top banker of the United States of America. By 1781, the American currency, 1781, had collapsed and the treasure of the United States of America was empty. Sound familiar? Then, by the way, this, the, our State Department is anti-Israel and they have been that way from the very beginning. They do not appreciate the sacrifice the Jewish people made for this country. In 1781, America's currency collapsed. Not a penny, it was any good. The nation was bankrupt. America had no funds for continuing the war and paying its debts. That'd be the Revolutionary War. Robert Morris, the Secretary of the Treasury, turned to Solomon for help. And it was the skill and knowledge turned to Solomon for help. And through that skill and knowledge, honesty and generosity of Solomon that kept America financially solvent. America at this time had no banking system, but Solomon's own credit backed the finances of the United States of America. Later, when Morris established more of his financial institutions, he had many Jews who were the great depositors of his bank. He personally made loans with no interest to many of the leading Americans of the Revolutionary War. Those who, like Jefferson and all the others, He loaned them money at no interest. People such as the future president, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe. Solomon personally supported the Spanish ambassador, which created Spanish goods toward America. Robert Morrison. made 75 entries in his diary about turning to the Jewish brokers, the bank for financial help. Solomon was maybe the one person most responsible for establishing the credit of the United States of America so they could borrow money from the Rothschild in Europe. He backed the loans with his own signature, his own fortune. the Continental Congress appointed him the official banker of the United States of America. And I could go on and on, but what I wanna say tonight is let's pray for Israel because when they say we are a Judo Christian nation, we are. We are. But the reason we are is because the Israelis who came to this country from Brazil in 1650, they have always backed this country. Now, today they're in a great straight. And here's why. Because the Democratic Party is, they support that party more. I'm talking about the rich Jews. than they do anything else. And let's pray that they'll wake up and know that this country that we love and we ask God to bless, if we turn our back as a nation on Israel, we won't survive. So as a church, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. What does that mean? It means that Jerusalem would become actual capital of the United States of Israel. Right now, every man who's run for president since I've been voting promised that they would move our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It's still in Tel Aviv. This country had better wake up. And the first thing we need to do is to thank that nation who gave us this blessed book and gave us the Messiah. And let's not forget, let's believe it like we never did before. Let's believe. I will bless them that bless thee and I will curse them that curse thee. I want to be blessed. You want to be blessed. Then let's stand for the earthly chosen people of God. no matter what they may do, the promise God made to them, the covenant God made with them is unconditional. Just like my salvation is unconditional for my grace we're saved. We'll have a song and thank you for letting me share these little bits of history that we don't have. It's not taught in our colleges. It's not taught in our public schools that Israel is God's earthly chosen people, and they have a right to that land. As we stand to sing. Thank you for listening tonight. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. Once was lost, but now I am found Was blind, but now I see
