if you would, tonight to Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews chapter 11. And I want to read verse 6 and we will then look in chapter 10 and verse 38. We've studied this. In fact, I looked back in some notes I have and we began looking and it hasn't been every Wednesday, It's been more than it has not been, but since March 2nd of 2017, we've been looking at faith in these individuals. So, it's been a good long study, and it's been a, I can only speak individually, but it's been a beneficial study. And we trust it has been with you and that the Lord has aided and helped us to trust Him, to rely and to depend upon Him. In Hebrews 11 and verse 6 it says, But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. And we read that and we see again, and I realize that this is written within the confines of speaking about Enoch, but this is as well a general statement, that it is impossible to please God without faith. And when you read that statement, and this is one of the absolutes of the Bible, an absolute statement, it doesn't say, well, it's really hard. It's not like when Christ spoke about a rich man entering into the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God, and He said, well, it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter in. And while we might say, well, a camel can't pass through the eye of a needle, the language that Christ used didn't say it was impossible, He said it was easier. But here He says it is impossible. is impossible for a child of God. This is the context. This is not talking about lost people in salvation, although we can't become pleasing to God apart from faith. But the context of this verse is that you and I, as children of God, we cannot please the Lord apart from faith. It's an impossibility. And so we ought to just have that settled right now in our hearts and minds that apart from faith, We can't please God. So what do we mean by, apart from faith, we can't please God? Well, apart from trusting Him, relying upon Him, depending upon Him, and doing things God's way, we can't please God. It's an impossibility to please the Lord. And take, for instance, our message Sunday night about baptism. It's not pleasing to God to deviate, to go away from baptizing by immersion. It doesn't please Him. It might be a church with scriptural authority, you might have a person who's saved, who wants to do it to follow the Lord, and you pour water over them, and it is unpleasing to God. Because you have deviated or departed from doing what God says. And that's an impossibility. There is no way to please Him by subverting or going outside or going away from the Word of God. Because again, when we talk about living by faith or walking by faith or anything by faith, You have to trust someone. As the Bible says, and it gives us a definition in verse 1 of Hebrews 11, it says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Well, how do we know to do things a certain way? Because God said to do them this way. It's not that we saw it and God showed us the end result, it's that He says, this is the way I want it done, and so we do it that way because it's by faith. That's trusting the Lord. It's simply because God said so. And one of the, if you were ever in school and they took a word, you know, a lot of times they'd take, you know, you'd take your name and you'd write it down the page this way for every letter, you would write, you know, it's supposed to be something that described yourself or that person, whoever you had. Well, I've heard faith, you write it down on the page, and it means, forsaking all, I trust Him. And that's a pretty good description of what faith is. I am forsaking all and I am trusting Him. And that's a pretty good description of faith. And we can't please God apart from that. Look over in Hebrews 10 and verse 38. Hebrews 10 and verse 38. We again are looking at faith. And we've been studying it for weeks. And again, these are things that people did by faith and some would say, well, I can't do that. Well, not with an unfaithful attitude you could not. And we can say, well, God doesn't call us to do that. But He does call every one of us to follow Him by faith. It might not be to these specific things or to some of these, but He calls every one of His children to follow Him 100% by faith. It might not be to the same things that these did, but it will be 100% by faith. In Hebrews 10 and verse 38, he says, Now the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Notice that. You have by faith, or without faith, it is impossible to please Him. So, we can only please God by faith, but in this verse, in verse 38 of chapter 10, we have, the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, notice here it's the opposite, it's my soul shall have no pleasure in him. There's no pleasure. God takes no pleasure in those who draw back. Not, well, I believe, but, no, we're either faith or there's no faith. There's no middle ground in that, is there? And he says, my soul has no pleasure in those who draw back. Boy, I've been in the drawing back. I've been one who's drawn back. I've been there and I've been in that land. I've been out in Moab when Ruth left and her family went and they went to Moab. I've been there. I've been in the same place where Achan saw something and coveted it. And I've been in the same with David and saw something and coveted it. And I've been in the numbering as Brother Crowder brought out some time ago about when he sinned in numbering the people and he was counting on the arm of the flesh and not counting on the arm of the Lord. And I've been in that position and God has no pleasure in that. I've been in the position where Abram, where he tried to make God's promise come to pass by his own power, and he went in to Hagar, and they ended up with Ishmael, and you know, years later, and God comes to me and says, listen, he goes, I promised you a son, and I'm going to give you one, and Abram says, well, what about Ishmael? And God says, no. No. I've got a lot of things in my life that God has said, no, that doesn't please me. Because I drew back from faith. And I'm so glad that I have an advocate with a father who takes care of that, drawing back. And that even though I draw back, God does not draw back from me. because He doesn't forsake me. But we want to look here, and let's turn over in Daniel 11. We'll come right back here to Hebrews 10. But we want to look tonight about the just shall live by faith, and that we might, as we begin to conclude our study here of faith, And as if you can conclude that study, because basically, if you're saved by the Lord, He constantly provokes us to trust Him, doesn't He? It's constant. When you're lost, He's constantly telling you to trust Him for salvation. And then after you're saved, He's constantly telling us to trust Him for our lives. And to do things His way. And so here in Daniel chapter 11. And notice if you would, verse 32, it says, And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries. Now notice this last part of this verse. I'm not going to take the time and set the context of all of this, but notice he says, But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Isn't that what we've been studying for a year or more here? 18 months? And isn't that what we're noting in Sunday school about so we can know our God? I mean, we're examining Him. And it says in Daniel 11.32, but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. And that's exactly what here in Hebrews chapter 11 is. It is a book or a chapter, it is a record, it is the Holy Spirit summarizing people that knew their God were strong and did exploits. And these aren't the only ones. I mean, there are people who knew their God, were strong and did exploits, and they're not recorded in Scripture. And after the canon of Scriptures were fulfilled, and you pick up a book about people who were saved, or Baptist history, and you read about it, there's people who weren't recorded in those books, who knew their God, were strong, and did exploits. But I believe God has written down their things, and He remembers them, and their works do follow them. And this is a great thing, and so we really need to take hold of these truths. So first of all, if you'll turn back to Hebrews chapter 10, Hebrews chapter 10, and we'll note verse 38, in the strength or the strongness and the doing of exploits, the only thing that they did was exactly what God told them to do. The only thing they did was what God had ordained them to do. So, what we need to understand is that we don't, as I've repeated this time and again, we don't need to seek to be like Paul, or Silas, or Timothy, or Peter, or any of these that we've studied, or anybody in Fox's Book of Martyrs. We just need to follow the Lord and be what God would have us to be as He said in His Word. That's it. So as we read here in Hebrews 10 and verse 38, it says, Now the just shall live by faith. The just shall live by faith. And it's quite clear here that the Holy Spirit is referring unto those who are saved by grace through faith. That those who have been pronounced by God through faith to be free from the penalty and power of sin. This is who He's talking of. Because He says the just That's what the word just means. It means that a judge has pronounced you to be righteous. And that was done because of what Christ did, and it's been imputed to you because of faith. And then the Bible says, now those that have been pronounced righteous by faith in Jesus Christ shall live by faith. Well, let's take a look at this sentence. The word shall is used frequently in God's Word, isn't it? And I'll just give you one that most people are very well familiar with, John 10, 28. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish. Isn't it amazing how the same people who want to say, well, I shall never perish because He gave me eternal life and I'm in my Father's hand and nobody can pluck me out of my Father's hand. But then when you read them this verse with the same shall in it, hold on a minute. It's kind of hypocritical, isn't it? The word shall depicts three things. It depicts a promise, a command, and a determination. Just as the Bible says, and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, God has promised us eternal life, He has promised us that we will never perish, He has commanded that we will never perish, and He has determined that we shall never perish. It's the same thing in this verse. The just shall live by faith. God has promised that those who have been saved are going to live by faith. He has commanded that those who are saved are to live by faith. And He has determined that they are to live by faith. He's determined it. Isn't that something? It's kind of like saying that in the halls of eternity past, when God and His Son and the Spirit, when the Father, Son, and Spirit, and they took counsel with one another and determined to save, they also determined and decreed some other things, didn't they? And one of it was that those that we save, they are going to live by faith. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They shall live by faith. We've determined it. You can't subvert it. You can't get away from it. You can't go around it. And so when we read this, we find that it is cemented, it is fixed in the halls of eternity, isn't it? Because God did all His determining back then, didn't He? He's not determining anything new, is He? He's not promising anything new. And His commands are the same today as they've ever been. There is nothing new under the sun, is there? No, the just shall live by faith. They shall. And it is my duty and your duty that by the great grace of God that we submit to His command, that we claim His promise, and we walk in the things that He has foredetermined. Isn't it? Secondly, The just shall live by faith. The just shall live. Emphasis on the word live now. What does this mean? What does it mean to live? Well, the word live means to continue or to be permanent. And Webster's 1828 Dictionary also gives it this, and I think that this really displays and shows what exactly is meant by the word live in the context that it's set here. And Webster stated, it says, "...to pass life or time in a particular manner with regard to habits or conditions." So, those who are justified, those who have been pronounced righteous because they've been made righteous by faith in Jesus Christ, they shall past life or time in a particular manner, in a particular way, with regards to their habits or to conditions that they're in, they shall live a certain way, and the Bible says the way is faith. Sometimes we sing a hymn called Living by Faith. That's exactly right. these here shall live." We are to go through life in a particular manner. You know, the Jews had to go through life in a particular manner, didn't they? God commanded them, He promised them, and He had to determine, this is what my people are to do. And just to give you an example, one of the things they had to do was, every year, You know, the certain of the men had to gather themselves together and present themselves before the Lord. When they had a child after so many days, they had to offer certain sacrifices. After X amount of days, that male child had to be circumcised. On the seventh day of the week, they couldn't do anything. I mean, they couldn't even kindle a fire. I mean imagine, just try and see how long you can make it on Saturday without any electricity. Because somewhere there's a flicker that happens when electricity gets kicked on. I mean shut your air conditioner off Saturday and turn the lights off and don't turn the TV on and don't cook anything. Unplug your refrigerator. He couldn't even do that because God told him not to. And so often, we only look at the negative and say, well, you know, the Jews couldn't do this. But you know what they could do? Oh, they could glorify God. They could worship Him. And they could fall into His hand. And they had the divine protection that God gave them, didn't He? What a great... I mean, the things that they could do far outweighed the things that they could not do. And sadly, sometimes you and I, we draw back and try and get the best of both worlds, don't we? Just like Israel did of old. Well Samuel, we love the fact that we're God's people and we have all these wonderful promises and you've been such a great prophet for us, but... We like to be like the nations. And so, we would like a king. So often in our lives, we say, God, I really thank you for salvation and the temporal blessings that you've given and afforded me these. And I realize sometimes that there's conditions on these promises. But the grass over here is looking really green. And so I'm gonna go over there. I realize that this is your pasture, and this is where your shepherd is at, and we're feeding here, but that grass is really green. And God says, I'm gonna tell you something, it's not that green. And I know it's not because I've gone there time and again. and there's nothing over there but briars and thorny bushes. And eventually, if you stay there long enough, you'll end up in the pig pen. And you might just see the footprints of the prodigal there. You see, the just shall live. The just shall not sit and do nothing. The just shall not act as a dead man because they're not dead anymore. What happened when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead? Did he stay in the tomb? What happened when we find that the Bible tells us that Jesus, when He was raised from the dead, was He still in the tomb? No! They did not remain in their grave clothes. Remember Christ said about Lazarus, loose him and let him go. Why? Because he wasn't dead. And so he shouldn't have grave clothes on because he was alive. So neither should you and I conduct and act as though we are lost or that we are not here to serve the Lord because we're not. We're here to live for Him. No longer for the loss of the flesh. No, we filled that cup up as Peter said in 1 Peter 4 verses 1-3. That cup ran over already. Now we're to serve Him. The Scripture says, now the just shall live. We should conduct ourselves, our lives, the manner of them should all be toward this one end of glorifying God. Whether you eat or whether you drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God. And quite frankly, we need to realize that there are just some things that cannot bring Him glory. It's an impossible thing to do. I cannot do this. Cannot do that. I cannot depart from God's word and glorify Him. I can't do it. It's impossible. It is impossible to glorify God and not have faith in Him. It can't be done. And we ought not to want to try. In our opinion, we like to say, well, I know a lot of people have tried, but they're not me. And if anybody can do it, I can do it. That's kind of like when we're lost and we think, well, I know that God has rejected everybody's righteousness, but surely He'll accept mine. I mean, that's the same mentality, isn't it? I know other people have done it, but they haven't done it the way I'm going to do it, and they haven't done it as good as I'm going to do it. It's impossible to please Him apart from doing what He says. Now the just shall live, they shall live and they shall live by faith. They shall live by faith. They shall live by trusting God. They shall live by depending on God. They shall live by relying on God. By doing things God's way. And if these last 18 months are give or take, of these sermons have not instructed us and encouraged us that living by faith is the way to go, for lack of a better expression, I don't know what will. Because in all manner of circumstances, in all manner of dangers, all manner of people walk by faith. live by faith. I mean, I don't think that when the Holy Spirit gave these, we can read over this again, I'd encourage you to, but I think that the Holy Spirit, He picked out these people, and there's some that we say, I don't know why they're there, and there might be others that say, well how come they're not in there? But the reality is, you read over this, and it seems to me that just about every human experience possible and every different kind of person is represented here in this chapter. And every one of them walked by faith. They weren't sinlessly perfect. They were not sinlessly perfect. But they walked by faith. The Holy Spirit of God has given us these examples of men, women, boys and girls who walk by faith, not by sight, who follow God's Word. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10 and verse 11 that these things are written for our examples. For our admonition upon whom the ends of the world have come. Look over in Romans chapter 15 if you would. Romans chapter 15. And notice if you would in verse 4. Again, why were these things recorded? Because again, all that Paul does being led of the Lord is he refers back to the Old Testament, doesn't he? He just keeps referring back then. And Paul had written, or did later write, I don't remember if he wrote Romans before or after Hebrews, but here in Romans 15.4 it says, For whatsoever things were written aforetime, whatever was written in the Old Testament, was written for our learning. Boy, I've got a lot of learning to do. Remember what Jesus said? And I'll give you this, stay here in Romans, but he said in Matthew 11, verse 28, Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And then in the next verse he says, Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Well, listen, he tells us here in Romans 15.4 that the things that were written aforetime were written for our learning. You see, these aren't just some little stories for us to tell the kids at bedtime or for us to reiterate to them in Sunday school and to print off coloring pages for them. They're written for adult men and women, children of God, for church members that we might learn to walk by faith and not by sight. So often we get away from these simple. That's not a derogatory term. Not everything simple doesn't make it derogatory. These are simple stories, for lack of a better expression. I mean, grew up singing the song, Only a Boy Named David. Where, you know, David, he went out and he put a stone in the sling and it went round and round and round. And one little stone up in the air and the giant came tumbling down. That story is still applicable to me as a 36-year-old. When I'm a 63-year-old, it will be applicable too. These things were written for our learning. It doesn't become, well, now that I'm, you know, X amount of years old, I need to get into the real doctrine. This is real doctrine. Because He says, Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. And again, that word hope means assurance. Assurance. Oh, the just shall live by what? They shall live by faith. They shall live by depending on God. And again, remember that when we talk about depending upon God, we're not talking about depending on God to do something He never said He would do. How many times do we do that? I mean, the world is full of people who, they just, I mean, it's almost blasphemous if it isn't actually blasphemy. Oh, I'm trusting the Lord. No, you're not. Oh, I'm trusting God to do this. Well, God never said he was going to do that, so you really shouldn't. You know, it's kind of like Satan told Jesus, he says, you know, if you'll cast yourself off of this mountain, he said his angels would lift you up and, you know, your foot won't be dashed against the stone. And Jesus says, yeah, and he also said thou shalt not tempt the Lord. I mean, it's just the fact that people just hum, you know, I'm very serious about my faith. No, you're not. You're not serious about it at all. Because if you're serious about your faith, it would be in the correct person, which is Jesus Christ, and then it would be in what He said. Not in things that you've conjured up. Listen to some of the things that these individuals did. Again, that's living. Living is doing. I mean, you're doing something when you're alive. You're existing. The Bible says that Abel offered. Enoch had a testimony that he pleased God. Noah moved with fear. You know, there's not a lot of moving with fear today, is there? And again, this was reverential fear. that the Lord is so mighty and awe-inspiring. If you ever hear anybody talk about, in the language of theology, and I have some very old books, and they'll refer to God as awesome. And I remember, and I thought, boy, that's kind of, seems kind of, you know, not, well, awesome doesn't mean what it means today. It means to inspire awe in. You know, we look at french fries and say, boy, these are awesome. Well, they don't really inspire awe, do they? But, Noah was moved by the aweness of God. When he had heard that this judgment was coming, and it was going to come in a fashion that nothing like this had ever, I mean, not a drop had ever fallen from the sky. It was unheard of. Yet He moved with fear. We need to move with fear. Not, I'm terrified that God's going to whoop me if I don't do this, but because of who He is and what He's done, we ought to be awed or inspired by the aweness of that to live a particular way. Abraham. Abraham did a lot by faith. Hebrews 11 says that he obeyed, he went out, he sojourned, he looked. No wonder he's called the father of the faithful. Sarah is said to have received strength. Abraham and Sarah together are said to have seen promises afar off. They were persuaded of the promises. They embraced the promises of God all by faith, though they did not ever receive them. Read that in verse 13. Abraham offered up Isaac. He accounted that God was able to raise him from the dead. He accounted God's ability. Isaac blessed. Jacob blessed in worship. Joseph made mention of the exodus which was at least 435 or so years away. He made mention of it. I can't make mention of 4 minutes and 35 seconds from now. But Joseph made mention of something that was at least, minimum, 400 years, or their roundabout, give or take. I mean, they weren't even prisoners yet in Egypt, and he's talking about an exodus! Why? Because he believed God. And he believed God to the extent that he said, When this happens, I want you to take my bones and bury them in Israel. By faith, Moses' parents were not afraid of the king's commandment. So often, and I've known that story, to use the human expression, all my life. And I'm sure you have as well. And you think when you read in Exodus, boy, they were afraid, so they hid Moses, and when they couldn't hide him anymore, they put him in the basket and put him down the river. But when you compare Scripture to Scripture, in Hebrews 11, the Bible tells us in verse 23, By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child. That's why they did it. Because they saw he was a proper child. And then it specifically says, And they were not afraid of the king's commandment. I mean, you don't think of hiding and not being afraid is the same thing, do you? But that was the case here. We find Moses, listen to what Moses did. He refused, he chose, he forsook, and he kept. All by faith. And you can read what he did. But these are all the action words, aren't they? These are the exploits. And the exploits of these that know their God Oh, or these that know their God shall be strong and do exploits, and they certainly did. Well, Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 38 tells us that there's another side to this coin. There's the side that pleases God, that's the walking by faith, the living by faith. See, it's not enough just to say, as James said, it's not enough to say, well, I have faith. Because James said, show me thy faith by thy works. That's like people say, well, I believe this. Well, show it to me then. Show me that this is what you believe by your works. That's what James is saying. I believe this doctrine. Fine, great, let's see it. Let's see that you believe that. And then when you go to carry it out, I promise you, God's laid out the rules for how we're to carry it out. Because you can't just say, well, I believe this doctrine, and then you go do whatever you want. Say, see, that shows I believe it. No, no, no. God says, here's the sidelines. And you have to do inside this. You have to stay in bounds. But he says in Hebrews 10 verse 38, Now the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in them. And you know, when I've drawn back, and I'm sure those of you who will readily admit that you have drawn back, or if you're in a drawn back state right now, oh, you know God is not pleased. Oh, you know it. And every fiber of your being, you know that He's not pleased. with what I'm doing. And it's about the loneliest place there ever is. Apart from when you were lost. It's the loneliest place there ever was. To be outside of the will of God. To be in a place where you're not pleasing Him. It's horrific. I mean, David in his Psalms time and again, he writes concerning this, and I'm gonna say this, you can be in a pulpit and in a pew, and you can be drawn back. Because I've done it. The Lord is only pleased by faith. You know, when we ask ourselves the question, am I pleasing to God? It's not a, well, I think so. It's a statement that we can know whether or not we are pleasing Him. And there's no dove or the Spirit of God is not going to descend upon you in the form of a dove and those clouds aren't going to open up and hear a voice that says, this is my beloved son or daughter in whom I am well pleased. Because we know we're pleasing Him by faith. Because how do you know that the way that, and I've been asked this a lot, how do you know that the church that you're a member of, that you pastor, how do you know that God is pleased with what your church is doing? I mean, you don't have numbers, you don't have people, and again, you remind them that God took Israel, who was the fewest of all people, and He was pleased to take them in, and that apparently is meaningless, and you remind them that Jesus Christ only had 12 disciples, one of whom was the devil, and then you remind them that when He was crucified, they all forsook Him, and that seemingly is meaningless to them also. But they ask you and they say, how do you know? I mean, look at these places, they're huge. And I say, yeah, and they're amusement parks. How do you know? This is because by faith, I believe that what God's word has revealed in his Bible is the way things are to be done. How do you know that God is pleased with your husbandship, or your wifeship, or your parentship. How do you know that God is pleased with that? Because we're doing by His grace, not the best that I can do, because the best that I can do is terrible, but by His grace we're doing what God's word says. That's how. Because it says right here, if you're a dad, this is what you're supposed to do. It says right here, if you're a mom, this is what you're supposed to do. It says if you're a husband, this is what you're supposed to do. If you're a church member, this is what you're supposed to do. If you're in the ministry, this is what you're supposed to do. And we believe that that's what God means. Do we struggle with it every second of the day? Absolutely. But by His grace, we do it. Because it's being done and it's God through us doing it, we know He's pleased. And I ask them, how do you know that God is pleased with you? And they'll tell you all the things that they are doing. I say, well those are all the wrong answers. How do I know that God is pleased with me as far as my standing? Because He rose His Son from the grave. That's how I know. Because my standing is not based on what I've done, it's based on what Jesus did. If you're here without Christ and you don't have Christ, to be pleasing for you in your standing, then you're not pleasing to God. But this entire series has not been about standing, it's been about living and walking. Okay? Your standing in Christ is permanent and settled forever. It's not gonna change. but your walk and your life, that does change. And it's not always pleasing to Him. Sometimes we do fall back, and He chastens us. Sermons come and it tells us, or we read Scripture, or God through His providence brings something to pass. Or maybe when we've grown, or we ought to have grown, or it's time for us to grow, God puts a testing or a trial, or He permits Satan to tempt us, and it's going to be a pass, or it's going to be a fail, and we may have to repeat it. until we learn not to draw back, but to walk by faith, and to trust Him, and to live according to His precepts, and His counsels, and His Word. I love the Word of God, because it's His Word to me. He's telling me Here's what I want you to do. You can't do it. But by my Spirit, you will be able to. Isn't that something? That's exactly what all of these did here. But if any man draws back... I mean, if it was one of the apostles who drew back, God was not pleased with them. I mean, if it was a church that drew back, He wasn't pleased. It doesn't matter. You know why we're here on this earth? To please Him. That's the purpose of our existence. The Bible says that all things were created by Him and all things were created for Him. That carries with it the connotation that things were created for His pleasure. So I was created physically and then created spiritually for His pleasure. Well, am I pleasing Him? I want to. Oh, may God help us that we'll be found pleasing to Him. And not just, you know, the second before He calls me home, but all the seconds leading up to that. And if you have drawn back, if you are at present in a drawn back state, oh, there's forgiveness and restoration, isn't there? He draws us back to Him. Have you ever been drawn back to Him? It's a marvelous thing. And you know, it's the same thing as there in the Gospel of Luke. I'm no more worthy to be called thy son. And He says, quiet down you. And He puts the robe of His house upon us. And He puts the signet back upon our hand. the emblem of his house, and he kills the fatted calf, doesn't he? And he rejoices that we have returned. While we stand as the song leader comes, let's sing a verse.
Pleasing God or Drawing Back
Series Faith
In this lesson, Pastor Hille begins to conclude the study of practical faith or living by faith from the series in Hebrews 11. There are really only two things that the child of God can do: please God or draw back. The Scriptures exhort us to walk by faith, live by faith that we might be pleasing unto the Lord who saved us.
We encourage each one to listen to this sermon.
