Before we begin the 34th chapter of Isaiah, a little nostalgia, please, if you'll put up with it. I was about 1962. Once a week, I would stop by and have lunch with my pastor from the time I was just a boy, the one who baptized me. And I'd stop by to have Lunch with brother and sister Kessner and he was writing a commentary on the book of Ezekiel and he had reached the 34th chapter and He had typed out the first Part of it and he wanted he said I Brother Bill, would you read this and see if you think there's anything there that I have not, what an honor it was to be able to just associate with him. Dr. Kessner did not have a high school education. He started out as a barber and while he was waiting between people who were going to have their hair cut, He would study men like Bullinger and a lot of the great theologians. And he was a great preacher of prophecy. And I thank God that I had the opportunity to be a part of his life. His first wife died when they had four children. And when he would preach, he would tell me he'd have a palate. in front of the pulpit, and those kids would be very, very, they didn't put up any fuss. He would, and, but I got to read this 34th chapter, that he had made commentary on. So it has a lot of special meaning to me emotionally. So we'll start with verse one of the 34th chapter of Ezekiel, Ezekiel 34. And the word of the Lord came to me saying, son of man. Now, when you see that term in the Old Testament, It means that whoever God is speaking to, whoever he is making a statement to, he considers them to represent all mankind. And they are responsible to be able to give great messages to humanity to change their life. Jesus then was called in the New Testament, the son of man, which means he represented in everything he did and was, he represented you and me and all human beings. Son of man, prophesy, preach, preach. and preach against something. People don't like for you to preach against anything, but you know, there are some things that we are to be against. And the preachers who preach on television, who only preach the positive gospel, and you never hear them say one thing, here, it's very clear. Son of man prophesy against and the saddest thing is the shepherds of Israel. Those who were put in a place of responsibility of speaking to the children of Israel and speaking to them the word of God and making their lives right with God, feeding them. with the word of God. That's the only thing a preacher has the right to do, is to preach and to feed people. Jesus spoke to Peter and told him, feed my sheep and feed my lambs. Son of man, I want you to prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. They are not doing what I have told them to do. and say to them, thus saith the Lord God, Yahweh Elohim, unto the shepherds. He's not preaching to the people, he's speaking to those who are responsible to feed the people the word of God. Thus say to the shepherds, Woe be unto you. And when God says, woe, he's not talking about a horse that's going down telling it to stop plowing. He's saying, excruciating, unspeakable pain and horror and heartache to those who I am speaking to. Woe be to the shepherds of Israel. that do feed themselves. In other words, if the preacher, if the shepherd of the people puts himself first and puts the people last, he's in it for what he can get out of it, he is in big trouble with Almighty God. Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves should not the shepherds feed the flock? Isn't that what God called them to do? Isn't that what God gave them the call? Was it for them to be able to build up themselves or are they to be poor and let the people be rich? Ye ate the fat, the shepherds of Israel, and ye clothe you with wool. Ye kill them that are fed, but you feed not the flock. The disease have ye not strengthened. You have not prayed for those are sick you're not a healing praying preacher I received a call and I called but my sister back in Ohio her husband my brother-in-law Robert fell yesterday and when he fell he fell and caused his leg to come on up into this part of his body he's in very bad shape And I thank God I had the privilege of praying with my sister. Pray for Robert Conger. He just can't make it without. And there are so many people that need Holy Spirit-led healing power for what is happening to them. God is still the healer. He has not quit. Did you know that one of the things that years ago I was criticized for is because I believed in divine healing? You know what the preachers said that was against what I said and I believed in? They said when you got the Bible, when you had the full Bible, you didn't need any more miracles. You had all the miracles. What a lie. That's not in the Bible. The Bible is not the last word that God has. He has a word personally for you. The man is not in the service tonight, but we have been praying all week because he had gotten messed up with, I better not go into details. He got messed up with the government. And he came down to tell me that they had straightened it out, and instead of him having to pay them $12,000, they're going to have to pay him $12,000. And that came with prayer. I personally, and I'm not bragging, I'm saying this just to let you know, his son is in the academy here, and he was not able to pay for the boys' tuition because they were broke. and the government was on their case. And so I had the privilege of paying that tuition for that boy because I wanted him to keep coming to this school. And he came down this morning and told me everything was settled and everything is good. But as a pastor, not to speak of just you as church sheep, we need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit of Almighty God. And God is still as answering prayer and he won't quit. You eat the fat, you clothe you with the wool, you kill them that are fed, and you feed not the flock. And then you do not pray for the disease of the people. And then as we were studying this together in 1962 at Dr. Kester's house, he said, let's turn over now and let's read in the book of Hebrews, the 12th chapter. And I was so thrilled to have him feed me these words that I'm going to read to you. Now tune in with all the Holy Spirit that you can bring into your life now because these are great words these are feeding you these are new testament dining new testament eating new testament feeding we'll start with the 12th chapter of hebrews verse 22 but Ye come unto Mount Zion, S-I-O-N, not the mountain that Moses came down from Mount Sinai. We're not at the foot of Mount Sinai anymore. Hear me, in the very first chapter of John, it says that we are in the age of grace and truth. You have the privilege of living in the greatest age that'll ever be, except when Jesus comes back in the next age and rules and reigns on this earth during the millennium. But you are come to Mount Sinai under the city of the living God. I'm feeding you from the Bible, the heavenly Jerusalem, Not that Jerusalem is over there now. What a mess is going on over there now. Can you really, I can't. It was difficult for me to receive the news that Palestinian terrorist, Muslim terrorist, went into a synagogue with axes and chopped rabbis to death. And do you hear, now what I'm gonna say now you don't have to receive. What do you think would have happened if some Jews had gone into a mosque? and chopped up some of the Islamic speakers. That had been, pardon, I'm not cursing. They'd been all hell break loose. But you didn't hear one word from our people who should have said, stop it and stop it now. You're not doing this to my nation Israel. I'm not putting up with it. But there was not a word. said, God have mercy, I pray for forgiveness for those who should have spoken and did not. We have come to the heavenly Jerusalem and innumerable, that means you can't number them, company of angels. We have come to the assembly, the ecclesia, the church, and the church of the firstborn. which are your names are written where? In heaven. And to God, the judge of all. Tonight, I'd like to just pause and thank almighty God that I don't answer to anyone spiritually, but him. DON'T ANSWER TO ANY HUMAN BEING SPIRITUALLY EXCEPT TO ALMIGHTY GOD AND HE IS MY JUDGE AND HE IS YOUR JUDGE AND IF YOU HAVE LISTEN TO THIS IF YOU HAVE JESUS STAND BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR SINS YOU'RE JUSTIFIED YOU ARE JUSTIFIED IN THE COURT THE SUPREME COURT OF HEAVEN and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits, that's you and me, our spirits, of just, that is made right, men made perfect, made complete. I'm looking forward. TO THAT PROMISE BEING FULFILLED WHERE I ONE DAY WILL BE TOTALLY COMPLETE. AREN'T YOU? THINK ABOUT IT. THERE'S SO MUCH THAT I AM NOT. AND I KNOW I'M NOT. AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I STRIVE AND STUDY AND PRAY, I STILL HAVE THIS OLD ENDEMIC NATURE THAT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH And one day I'm gonna get rid of it. And one day you are, if you have Jesus, and you will be a just human being made perfect, not by your works, but by the works of Jesus Christ. Verse 24, what we're doing, we're feeding. And to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant. I'm not under the law, and you're not under the law. I'm under a new covenant, the covenant of grace. It's brand new, and don't try to put me under the law. because the law kills and I don't want my spirit killed. And you don't want to preach, hear a preacher kill your spirit. You want a preacher that'll preach this Bible and make you come alive. Alive. What a beautiful service we had at the 11 o'clock service today. There was life in the service. Verse 24, five. See, that you refuse not him that speaketh. God can be refused. You can say no to God. We are people that God gave the right to say no. It's not what you want to do, but otherwise all we would be would be puppets and we're not puppets. We have the right to make choices. See that you refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escape not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven. And tonight seed are being planted. in our lives and those seeds need to be watered by the holy spirit and bear fruit verse 26 he gets real real down to the bottom line are you ready this is preaching feeding with real truth that needs to shake you up and stand you up, listen carefully. Verse 26, whose voice then shook the earth, but now he hath promised the same. Yet once more, I shake not the earth only, but heaven also. Why heaven? Because Satan and his fallen angels invaded the Holy of Holies. And if it had not been for the, that's why Jesus had to die and suffer as Brother Phil sang the beautiful song, the Via Della Rosa, the road of suffering, he suffered. No matter how much I suffer, it's nothing, nothing. compared to what Jesus did for me personally and for you personally. And this is the word. Oh, I wanna hear this. Yet once more, signifying the removing of those things which are shaken. Anything that can be shaken, God will shake it and it will fall apart. ALL OF THINGS THAT ARE MADE AND THOSE THINGS WHICH CANNOT BE SHAKEN MAY REMAIN. GOD ONE DAY WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE DESTROYED AND ALL THAT WILL BE LEFT IS THAT WHICH CANNOT BE DESTROYED BECAUSE THEY ARE OF HIM, OF HIM ONLY. THE ONLY PART OF ME THAT WILL LAST FOR ETERNITY, THE ONLY PART OF YOU THAT WILL LAST FOR ETERNITY IS THAT WHICH GOD HAS IMPLANTED IN YOU. AND THAT'S WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER, FORSAKE NOT THE ASSEMBLING OF YOURSELVES TOGETHER AS THE MATTER OF SOME IS, BECAUSE THERE ARE CERTAIN GIFTS THAT CANNOT BE RECEIVED EXCEPT IN THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD, THE ECCLESIA, THE CALLED-OUT BODY OF CHRIST. Verse 28, wherefore we receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved. Let us have grace. The only way you can have that kingdom that can't be removed is to trust in the grace of God and the grace of God only. If you're trusting in anything else, it'll be destroyed, it cannot remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved. Let us have grace. Whereby we may serve God acceptably only by grace with reverence and godly fear But he says just remember this if you don't go by grace Here's what you're going to go by and it'll be the last verse of the message Verse 29 for our God is a consuming fire and that which is not of grace and unmerited love and favor of God will be destroyed. But that which is of Jesus in your life will remain for all eternity. But remember, whatever is of man, whatever is of human beings, Our God is a consuming fire and it will be burned. I thank God for those scriptures that Paul taught. He said that some people would build their life with, and he used symbols, gold and silver and precious stones, but some would build their life on wood, hay and stubble that'll be burned. BUT THAT WHICH IS BY GRACE WILL LAST FOR ALL ETERNITY FOR BY GRACE ARE YOU SAVED THROUGH FAITH AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES IT'S THE GIFT OF GOD NOT OF WORKS ANYONE SHOULD BOAST Have you been fed? As we stand to sing. Let's offer up amazing grace. ♪ Amazing grace ♪ How sweet the sound ♪ That saved a wretch like me ♪ I once was lost I see.
