Proverbs 19.23 says, The fear of the Lord tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied. He shall not be visited with evil. Those who have the fear of the Lord not only tend to make choices that preserve and protect life, but they also abide satisfied. Or in other words, they live life with peace and contentment. They live satisfied lives. That's what our proverb is saying when we read, the fear of the Lord tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied. Just last night during our study of 1 Timothy 1 verses 9-11, we began with a current events update that demonstrates this proverbial truth. I played a video. with a conservative young man interviewing a trans-identified person. I believe she's female, and I'm not even sure what she identifies as. But as he was interviewing her, she claimed that the hate for the sodomite LGBTQ crowd, plus crowd, is just terrible. So he asks her where that hate is coming from, and incredibly, she says the government. which is ludicrous. There's never been a more sodomite federal government and never been more sodomite friendly state and local governments in American history. So he phrased the question a little differently and asked her again, where does she personally feel hate coming from? From where or from who? And incredibly, she then admits that the real problem is she hates herself. What's incredible is not what she said, because we've been pointing that out for years and scripture bears it out and has done so since the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, but what's incredible is to hear her admit it. And as I pointed out, the wicked are never satisfied. I quoted some other scriptures and you can see those by listening to that particular current events update, but there are other passages that I didn't have time to get into, including Proverbs 27, 20. Hell and destruction are never full, so the eyes of a man are never satisfied. And of course that's speaking of the godless man or woman, or whatever a person identifies themselves as. The fear of the Lord tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied. But those who do not fear the Lord, and they choose to live selfish, sinful lives, as do all who identify with that sodomite LGBTQ plus movement, But so do many heterosexual, married-with-children, run-of-the-mill people. They're just as godless and self-serving as anyone, and no matter what your orientation or no matter how you identify yourselves, If you reject the fear of the Lord, you will never be satisfied. We've talked about it before. Many of you have heard it. Some attribute it to Augustine, others to somebody else. But there's this great illustration that we have a God-shaped vacuum in us. And we can try to fill it with everything and anything and nothing will satisfy until we fill that with God himself. So that is the reality of those who live without the fear of the Lord. And that would also explain why a new story that I saw just this morning described the effort to put fences around all the high bridges in Canada. Why? to deter all the people jumping from those bridges to their deaths committing suicide. Why are they doing that? They're not satisfied without God. Godless and unsatisfied. We take no joy in this reality. Neither does God. We're told in 2 Peter 3, 9, the Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is long-suffering to us. We're not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If you just happen to be or you know someone who's part of that sodomite LGBTQ movement, we don't hate you. We love you enough to tell you the truth and to call you to life in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Those without Christ living without the fear of the LORD have no satisfaction and really just hate themselves. Those in Christ with the fear of the LORD "abide satisfied".
