I would just check some things out, end up talking to the salesperson. And so we're talking a little bit and I'm going to take the advantage to share the Gospel. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin, He was buried and rose again three days later. That's the salvation message and I shared that with him and I could tell just by I could tell It didn't it I could I felt a little something, you know, it didn't really sink in like it would I didn't really care I mean because I'm the customer I don't care if you understand but our job is not to convince people our job is just to share the gospel and The Holy Spirit takes care of the rest of it we talked a little bit and he told me that he was a former Jehovah's Witness. And I said, okay, now I got that figured out now. Okay, I understand. See, they don't believe, they believe Jesus was an angel. They don't, they believe when he walked the earth he was just a man, not God. They got, they don't believe the Holy Spirit's a person. they don't believe in the Trinity, they believe salvation by works, they believe 144,000 of their people are going to be in Heaven, the rest are going to be on Earth. A lot of things they believe different. Basically they don't believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior. And so we got to talk a little bit, and he said, I don't go there anymore. I said, okay, it's interesting. He's going to a different church. We talked about it and he said, you know, his brother left and his mom, see when you leave Jehovah's Witness Church then you become a dead person. You know they can't talk to you, nothing. You're just dead. to them. And so his brother left and the church came to his mama and said, you can't talk to your son anymore. And she said, ah, he's my son. I'll talk to him as long as I want to. And so he he's left. And so it's interesting. We had a pretty good conversation. And I said, don't you think there's something wrong with that? I said, can I just ask you, his name was Lance. I said, Lance, did you see anything wrong if you leave a church and then you're totally cut off? You can't even talk anymore. We had a guy come and teach a long time ago up in Rocky Mount. He said, there's something wrong with that. He said, I know it is. That's one reason he left. Very interesting. We talked about different things. And so then we end up talking to another guy there. And of all things, he was a right divider. We start talking and then he starts talking about Apostle Paul and I'm going, he starts laughing. And I said, yeah, 13 epistles and we're going on and on and on and dispensation. I mean, it was absolutely amazing. He said, I haven't talked to a right divider since 2018. He said, where are you? I said, we're a long ways away. He said, oh my gosh. And so it's very interesting. He was a black man and his great uncle was the designer of the Confederate flag. He had to change his name from something from Smith I ain't gonna say what his name is, but he had to change his name. I guess out of slavery or whatever. Amazing, amazing when you get out. And I said, are you talking to, he said, oh yeah, I'm talking to him. He said he's got a lot of junk he's gotta get through from what he believed. All right, so I took him the little blue books, I gave those to him, and so I'm gonna follow up with him. I drive back, I mean, what I've gotta do, you know, God does all kinds of cool things. If you just make yourself available, just available. And so he's got help there working with him, and I don't know, absolutely amazing. And then yesterday, I'm downstairs studying, the doorbell rings, dolls go nutty, and Brenda says, Gary. And so I thought, well, I mean, I'm coming up the steps. And then she went, go back down. I mean, I got my pajama, you know how I am. I got my t-shirt, pajamas on, bottoms, and so I said, okay, so I ran to the bedroom and it was an older lady outside with the white, with the great hair and a bun, with a younger guy. Okay, who was that? Jehovah's Witnesses. I mean that's stereotypical, I mean I'm thinking that. And so I went back in the bedroom, I just stood back in there listening, they talking a little bit, and Brenda, she said, wait a second, I was proud of her. She said, let me just, are you Jehovah's Witnesses? Well yes we sure are. They're having a big convention in Roanoke. I guess it's sending people out. She said, well, my husband is a Christian pastor. That's where cows go, right? Pastor. And she said that he's not going to be interested. They were very nice, and they left. So I don't know. It's a shame. But see, make sure. You can be a Presbyterian, you can be a Charismatic, you can be Word of Faith, you can be a Lutheran, you can be a Methodist, you can be any... To be a Christian is what your faith is in and what Jesus Christ did on the cross. If your faith is in that, because otherwise, I mean, think, who's going to be right? So you remember all these people, you in the body of Christ, if you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin, buried and was resurrected three days later. If you believe that, you are in the body of Christ, no matter what your denomination is. So make sure, if I ever make fun of somebody or something, I'm not, your Christianity is not based on your denomination. We could, somebody say amen. It's based on what you believe. Say amen. If you agree, okay, glory to God. Anyway. Today, I have two points that I want to make. I actually had to bust this up because I had way too much. This came in at the end, and so I've rearranged things today. I don't know whether this is going to last 30 minutes. I have no idea. I don't do it like that. We'll just see how it goes. But I have two goals I want to make you understand today. We are not emphasizing the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost enough. I'm going to try to get an emphasis back on this, because who's living inside of you? Holy Spirit. I'll explain later. And then I want you to understand the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit aren't always the same. I know some of you are going, oh my God. No, just trust me. I'm going to prove it to you. Just hang in. They're not always the same, OK? There is a difference between, you know, you've got capital H, capital G, Holy Ghost. You've got capital H, capital S, Holy Spirit. You've got little h and little s, Spirit. You've got all different. See, capitalization makes a difference. It makes a very big difference. I want you to understand that. I don't know if you know this or not. This might be worth your coming today. Did you know there's only one Bible version that has the Holy Ghost in it? Well, guess which one it is? Guess which one it is? It's King James. No other Bible version has the Holy Ghost in it. And I didn't know that till I was, you know, I do my comparisons, I was reading, and I said, wait a minute, Holy Spirit, what's going on here? Now, I'm not saying it could be some weird, you know, some other version, something I don't know about, but the ones that we normally, you go to the bookstore and buy, no other Bible has Holy Ghost in it except the King James. Interesting, I think. It's used 90 times in the King James, not in any other Bible. All of them are in the, all of them from the Gospels to Revelation. 90 times Holy Ghost is used in the King James. Holy Spirit is used seven times, three in the Old Testament and four in the New Testament. Now it makes sense if you think about the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost didn't come till Pentecost, so he wouldn't really be used in the Old Testament. Remember Pentecost? That's when the Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit came. That's to initiate the body of Christ at that point, to start building the body of Christ. Why is it capitalized here and not capitalized there? Small as, little as, and could it be a reason? Now I told y'all before, you believe what you wanna believe. You believe what you wanna believe, amen? And so we all get to choose it, and we all have our reasons. I believe this, you believe that. Try to make it on facts. Try to make it on God's word the best you can. Everybody says they preach God's word, but we all preach a little bit different, right? So just try the best you can. Could there be a reason for this? Do you believe in the Trinity? We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We believe in the Trinity. Co-equals. before We became right dividers and father apostle paul and his 13 epistles. I told a guy to read us I told him I said start reading the guy the christian guy told him what to read and I said no No, no to have him start reading the unbelievers start reading in romans to philemon three chapters a day And he's so he's stuck on that too. So we get we're working on that guy Be great to have a soul say wouldn't it will be awesome anyway, and so We used to be charismatic, that type of thing. We used to believe in the signs and wonders and the gifts and speaking in tongues and all that kind of stuff. Used to believe that. And we focused on those things. You know, most TV preachers would be charismatic probably. They focus on the Holy Spirit, right? Most of the ones on TV would, that you see. Sid Roth, some of those guys, and so they emphasize that. Word of faith emphasizes it. Signs, wonders, miracles. They emphasize worship. They mean worship over the Word. I heard that worship is so good. I went into worship and I felt the Holy Spirit. Oh, it was awesome, and I don't care about the preaching, but boy, that worship was good. Have y'all been to a Gene Tech football game? You have? Have you been? they play Sandman you're going to feel the Holy Ghost. You know what I'm talking about. You know what I'm talking about. They play for them. I mean it's a joke. It's a joke. but when they play Sandman, your skin will crawl, you'll be, am I right? It's like a high, I don't understand it, I don't think it's evil, but it's something, I mean, it's just amazing. See, look, I'm just reliving it, getting my hair stuck in my arm. But so, that's not, I get all emotional when I hear that in Jacked Up, that's not the Holy Ghost. I mean, I can hear somebody sing really good, and man, oh man, hear that, you know, what I mean? And you go, wow, that's really, that's not the Holy Ghost, that's your emotions. Nothing wrong with emotions, except they lie to you. We talked with that today in prayer. How many of y'all have made a decision based on emotions and went, man, I wish I hadn't done that? Your emotions take you down, man, that rich Corinthian leather smell. You're sitting in that car, oh man, it's so, and all of a sudden you walk, you've made a big, oh, why'd I buy that car? Why'd I buy that furniture? Why'd I buy that? Amen? Why'd I buy them clothes? And we all, I think we all know about that. You can't let emotions make our decisions. And we've talked about it before too, when you get too close to things, you can't make, you're trying to make a decision about your family, sometimes it's hard to do because you're too close to it. You don't see any problem. You mean, my daughter's using drugs? No, she's not. Everybody in the whole town knows she's using dope. Right? But see, you don't because she's too close to you. That's why it's nice to have friends, men, women that you can talk to that are sort of outside. Say, well, maybe think about this. You need, that's why we need fellowship. We need to have a, we're all part of the body of Christ, and we need help sometimes in making certain decisions, because we just don't see it. Remember that movie, Gladiator? One of the best movies of all time. Remember he goes, are you not entertained? Remember that? Church is not to come to be entertained. You don't come here to be entertained. You go to the movies, to a ball game, to a concert, and you entertain. Nothing wrong with being entertained. But that's not, you come to church, which is so backwards. You come to church to learn God's word. Hang out and pray, but you didn't come here to, oh, there's always a, no, you can't, the goal is to come learn. Teach me something. I wanna grow as a Christian. Help me, guide me, and teach me as well. That's what you're doing. you come to hear his word. And oftentimes, charismatics, and that's where we used to be, we way overemphasize the Holy Ghost. You remember those days, right? We way overemphasize. That takes precedence over his word. I mean, you watch some of these guys preach, they don't even crack a Bible open, because they're all talking about the Holy Ghost, laughing and doing different kinds of things, laying hands on people, barking around, all kinds of weird stuff. So the problem is, how many of y'all got a refrigerator? Alright, on the top shelf in your refrigerator, what's at the back? What's at the back of the top shelf in your refrigerator? Huh? Water? You don't even know, do you? You haven't even looked at it. Huh? A light? Well, okay. You're right! But don't you have stuff in your refrigerator that you don't want to throw away? Because you might use it. You know, I've got maple syrup I probably have for 10 years in a back right-hand corner of the refrigerator. Because I wanted some maple syrup to do something with a barbecue roast or something. It's that little jug, like a little white lightning jug, a little coat thing, and it's back there. Not still got it, but it ain't really important to me. I mean, it's there, and I'm telling you, that's what we, if we're not careful, we do with the Holy Spirit. Once you rebound from being way out yonder in left field and all that, then you come back. I ain't mess with that anymore because I was all confused. I'm going a different direction now. If you're not careful, you just get rid of the Holy Ghost. You don't pay attention to Him anymore at all. But where's Jesus right now? Where's Jesus right now? He's right here in the Father. Where is He in Heaven, right? He ain't here. Who's here now? Holy Spirit's here now. Remember he sent him? Jesus said, I gotta go away so I can send you the helper. Pentecost came, Holy Spirit fell, right? Remember that? And so he's here now. Jesus ain't here with you. Jesus is up at the throne, seated at the right hand of the Father. Why aren't we more concerned or more conscious of the Holy Spirit? We need to be, and I've neglected that. No, we're not going to go back to goofy stuff, but we need... He's your comforter, your teacher. He guides you. He's talking about getting guidance. That's who's going to give him guidance and direction. Right? So we gotta get back to where we have not neglected the Holy Spirit, we've not neglected the Holy Ghost, and forgive us if we have. We're not gonna get kooky, we're not doing that stuff, but we just need to be more aware of him. Trust me. We gotta get him off the back shelf. Sometimes, I find rotten stuff in the back refrigerator. You ever found rotten stuff in the back of your refrigerator? Man, look at that corn. How long has that corn been in there? Asparagus? You got the best of all intentions, but it doesn't work out sometimes. Both positions are wrong. Off-emphasis and under-emphasis of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. We gotta understand that. Now, at the time of the writing of the King James Bible, Holt, the ghost, the word ghost, 1611 and 15 whatever, ghost meant breath and soul. Good things. We wrote the King James Bible, spirit did not mean good things. Spirit meant the departed person. There's a spirit here. Sometimes it even meant evil, demonic, paranormal. Now, over 500 years have evolved, roughly, since the Bible was written. Today, ghosts mean what? Huh? So, right now, are ghosts good or bad? Bad. Well, except for Casper. I mean, Casper's your friendly ghost, but other than Casper, yeah, ghosts are bad. Right? And spirit, oh, the spirit. I mean, I talked to, be careful. I talked to somebody. I talked to somebody and then I got some good advice. And then I found out before I went to see this person in person that Part of how she treats you is she communicates with spirits. When I heard that from somebody who I know is telling me the truth, I'm not going to have her touching me. I don't know who she's talking to, but I don't need, you understand, I don't need her putting hands on me. But now the spirit it's all it's in the spirit. He's in the spirit and it's all now it does mean life. It doesn't mean breath today Does God have that take us out now Does God have a spirit Yes You got a spirit Is your spirit the Holy Ghost No, you have a spirit. God has a spirit. God also has Holy Ghost. Everything God has is holy. Now I'm going to try to explain this. God has a spirit. The spirit of God is different than the Holy Ghost. You with me? He's different than the Holy Ghost. I'm going to explain it. I hope I can. In the King James Bible, which we believe is the Word of God, Any time you see Holy Ghost, it is speaking in absolute certainty, it's talking about the third person of the Trinity. When you look at King James Bible, when you say the Holy Ghost, that's talking about a person, the third person of the Trinity. We good with that? When you see Holy Spirit, could be, maybe not, could be. like it's not, but it could be. Make sure I say that properly. Psalm 51-11, Psalm 51-11. Now we're in the Old Testament, 51-11, the Bible says, David wrote this, And David said, cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Is your holy capital or not capital? He couldn't have taken the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit hadn't even been given, it hadn't been Pentecost. The Holy Ghost, he's talking about your Holy Spirit. Don't take your Holy Spirit from me, not the Holy Ghost. Nobody's been dwelled in a Holy Ghost in the Old Testament. That's for us in the body of Christ. Understand? Make sure. Please don't take that Holy Spirit from me. Your presence. I mean, I need your Spirit. I need your Spirit, God. Not the Holy Ghost. He needs His Holy Spirit. The more you study, the more I study, the more I see I'm the more convinced I am in what God's Word is There was one thing we talked about to the the guy down the other person he he's a he believes in the King James Bible He's just amazing. So anyway Amazing the contacts you make I check this out Ephesians 113 Ephesians 113 Ephesians And God eats popcorn too. 113. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. You were sealed with that holy spirit of promise a little h capital s holy spirit of promise Ephesians, that's what that's how you was your salvation sealed That's why I don't believe you lose your salvation ephesians 4 30 check out another one here And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. And grieve not the capital, the little h, Holy Spirit of God. I want to suggest to you that is God's Spirit. Not the third person. That's God's Spirit. You're grieving. I mean, why would he say don't grieve Jesus? Don't, right? Don't grieve Jesus. Don't grieve. He says don't grieve God's Spirit. All right? Suggestion. You don't have to agree. First Thessalonians 4 and 8. If anything, at least expand as you study God's Word according to 2 Timothy 2.15. Study to show yourself approved unto God. Study. Only the King James Bible says study. Every other Bible says other things different. Study to show yourself approved unto God. Workman need not to be ashamed. Rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Rightly dividing the Word of Truth. All of God's Word is true. There's no errors, there's no mistake, there's no contradiction. 1 Thessalonians 4, 8. We have the Holy Spirit. He's given unto us. Now, I want to tell you there's the Spirit of God and then there's the Holy Ghost. They're not the same thing. I'm not trying to confuse you, I'm just trying to broaden your knowledge of the Scripture and make us more aware. We have the Spirit of God living in us. As a believer you do, if you're not a believer you don't, but He's living in you. He makes residence in you. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So here's where I am, and you don't have to agree, you can totally disagree, that's fine. You've got to be fully persuaded. When I see Holy Ghost, I'm 100% confident that God is talking about the third person of the Trinity. I'm positive, I mean, I'm done with that one. When I see Holy Spirit, capitalized or not capitalized, most of the time, I'm gonna say that's not the third person of Trinity, but it could be. It's up to you to make your decision on that thing. My main point today is I wanna make sure Just once again to show you to confirm I hope to you that the validity of the preciseness of the King James Bible and then also To make sure that we start and I'll finish up maybe next week on it to finish up talking about We need to emphasize the Holy Spirit more the Spirit of God more the Holy Ghost more I don't care which one you're talking about. We need to emphasize it more You follow me? That's who's leading guiding you We can't just throw him, don't worry about him anymore. We need to emphasize what he does. Next week I'll be talking about how he works with us and what the Holy Spirit does for us. Just because somebody comes through and they've abused the Holy Spirit and blasphemed him and get confused about is that demonic or not demonic? All these different things, I mean, that doesn't mean you either throw the baby out with the bathwater. You don't do that. You don't do that at all. Please don't do that. But you can't keep them in the back of the refrigerator either. We can't let, just because you see somebody that's acting crazy, or believing something, I hope I've said it plenty of times, you understand it. Just because you believe, just because your doctrine is different, and we could look at it and go, man, that's crazy. That's why all the different denominations happen, is because people got together and said, we don't believe that, right? We're gonna do it this way, we don't believe that. but the main thing is if you believe in what Jesus Christ did on the cross, His death, His blood paid for your sin, buried and rose again three days later, that right there puts you in the body of Christ. No baptism required, none of those things. That is the thing. So that we should not be separated. We're not going to go to heaven, there's going to be a Baptist section, a Methodist section, a Lutheran section. Y'all know that, don't you? It's not gonna be we're all gonna be there. I'm probably gonna go man. What's wrong with us We believe all this crazy stuff, but the one thing you better believe is what Jesus Christ did for you Your sin is all your sins forgiven past present future. That's took a long time to understand that as well That's why we talk about people. You don't have to go out every day and say, you know Do y'all mess up about every day? Do y'all say things you shouldn't say I got so mad last Saturday, I got so mad last Saturday talking with somebody. He's cheating me. And I said, well, it was a cheat. It was an absolute cheat. And I owed him some money, and I paid him exactly what he wanted. I didn't shake his hand. I said, you're a thief and you're a liar. All he talked about the first time I met him was how Jesus was good to him, and how he fed the poor, and how he had barbecues for this, and he helped the homeless. I'm listening to all this, I'm going, you know, sometimes when people talk too much about Jesus, don't you get a little something, a little hair on the back of your neck, going, ah, it might be just a little too much. And he went a little too much with it. He always wore these black, dark sunglasses. I don't like, I wanted to slap those things off his face last Saturday. Let me see your eyes, man. It was close. I mean that's it was close anyway Anyway, and so we talked everything and I paid him but I wouldn't I Didn't shake his hand and I I'm not I mean if you gonna be a thief just be a thief And we'll see how it all works out. Amen So if I had to apologize him Actually, I was forgiven to me to be honest with you. I I'm not going to lie. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. Anyway, we'll see how it works out. Sometimes people do things wrong, right? You can't let that stop you. Amen? You got to keep going. Hypocrite. Glory to God. I want you to see, please, that we can't let crazy things affect our beliefs. we have core beliefs that they're rock solid. If anybody, if you understand at all that all our doctrines found in Romans to Philemon, Paul is the apostle to the Gentiles. The Bible says all of that. It's just amazing when you actually learn how to rightly divide the Scripture. You don't take anything out of context, you just rightly divide it. How do y'all think of the Holy Spirit? How do y'all think of Him? What just comes to your mind? Leader? And y'all just think Holy Ghost means tongues? You're going to say that in public here, but anyway. You think a leader. How do y'all think? Put a word to the Holy Spirit. Huh? Comforter? Huh? I can hear her. Sacred? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. You might think I am sometimes carnal. Sometimes I think God is architect, the Father. I mean I'm talking God is all three, the Father's architect, then I think of Jesus being the contractor, and I think of the Holy Spirit being the worker. And God, you know I mean no disrespect, you know my heart in that, but the Holy Spirit is who's doing stuff. When's the Holy Spirit first mentioned in the Bible? That's a good one. When's the first time the Holy Spirit was mentioned in the Bible? Any idea? No, no. Oh, this is gonna be a good lesson for you here. Thank you. Let me make... Turn me to Genesis 1. I hope I... Yes, I'm right. Genesis 1, 1. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And remember, it's not heavens. If your Bible says heavens, it's not a good Bible. The heaven and the earth, that's all what was made at the beginning. He divided heavens later, and He made plural heavens, but at the beginning, He made a heaven and an earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The Spirit, right there, very beginning. He's right there, creation. He's a gift that God gave us. He gave humanity at Pentecost to start building the body of Christ. And we talked about that last week. We talked about the body of Christ last week. John 16, 7 and 8. John 16, seven and eight. The Bible says, Jesus speaking, fully God, fully man. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is expedient for you that I go away, Jesus saying this, for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he has come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment." Jesus said, I got to go. And when I go, I'm going to send somebody back. I'm going to send the Holy Spirit back, right there. That's who's here today. Jesus is not with us today. He's living. beside His Father right here, the Father in Heaven. Next week I'm going to talk about the responsibilities of the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost, and maybe we can, I want to get a balance, because maybe it's just for me to learn, but I know that I personally, because I've been so, I went so far one way, I have sort of neglected my responsibility with the Holy Spirit. You may not have, but so part of my teaching is to try to get us back in line to where we put Him in the right place. He's the third person of the Trinity, He's third person, right? You understand that? He's God. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. So just remember that. Father, Son, Holy Ghost. If I'm going to do the King James, Holy Ghost in that situation. Father, I thank you for your Word, Lord. It is absolutely true. We know there are no mistakes, there are no errors in it. And Lord, we know we don't have all the answers. We could still, we have lots to learn, all of us do. So Father, help us. Please, we ask you. Don't hide your word from us, please. We don't want to be blind. We can be corrected. We understand correction because we want to grow. We don't want to stay the same. We want to grow in Christ. So please help us. Please, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
Holy Ghost vs Spirit vs spirit
Did you know the term "Holy Ghost" is found only in the KJV? None of the modern versions use the term "Holy Ghost". They only use the term "Spirit". Why is that? How do we know when God's word is referring to the 3rd person on the Trinity or just God's spirit?
