I love you. Well, glory to God. Well, if you have your Bibles,
Genesis chapter 29. Genesis chapter 29. Amen. Thank
God for His sweet presence tonight. Thank God for your presence. But you and I both could have
been here, and if He wasn't here, it wouldn't matter, would it?
We have a pain, but when He's here, Wonderful. Someone said
it's always good to be in the Lord's house when He's at home.
Well, we know He's ever with us. We'll ever have His abiding
presence as a child of God, but it sure is good when He manifests
Himself, when He reveals Himself. I thank the Lord for that. Don't
you? We're looking tonight in Genesis 29. I want to read verse
1 tonight. Genesis 29. And I'm interested
in verse number 1 tonight. Genesis chapter 29 and we're
looking at verse number 1. The Bible said, Then Jacob went
on his journey and came into the land of the people of the
east. Lord, I thank You for the privilege
to pray. I thank You, dear Lord, the day that you've given us
and the night as well. I appreciate, Lord, your sweet
presence around here tonight. Thank you, dear Lord, for everyone
that's come tonight. I pray you'd touch every individual
under the sound of my voice tonight. I pray you'd reveal yourself
to every person, to every soul, Lord, that's here tonight. I
pray, God, you'd turn the searchlight of heaven on us and let us see
ourselves in the light of the Word of God The light of eternity
and the light of judgment speak to us and through us tonight.
Lord, help us now as we take it. Lord, at this time, I pray
you'd give us that unction and utterance that man can't preach
without. I pray you'd illuminate our mind
and loose our tongue. I pray you'd enable us, empower
us, and forbid us to freeze. I pray you let me loose out of
myself and where I'm at. I pray God you'd immerse my mind,
heart, and spirit in the Word of God, the will of God, and
the ways of God. I pray God, Lord, tonight, that
you'd strengthen us physically, anoint us spiritually tonight.
And Lord, give us heavenly wisdom and spiritual insight as we try
to preach tonight. And give us that touch that man
can't preach without. And give us that liberty and
freedom. And may the Word of God go forth from these loops
of clay and the power and the demonstration of the Spirit of
God. May our hearts be prepared to receive the Word of God tonight.
May the seed of the Word of God fall on good ground and bring
forth fruit into perfection. May you awaken sinners to the
need of you. May you convict them tonight, and may this be
the night they turn from sin and be saved. May the saints
be revived and refreshed and renewed by being here tonight.
Lord, do among us what we cannot do for ourselves. Above everything
that's done, may Your Name be glorified and magnified among
us. And Lord, what You are pleased
to do in, through and for us, we'll be careful of our unworthy
head. And thank You for every bit of it, for I ask everything
in Jesus' wonderful Name. Amen and Amen. Thank You for
standing tonight. I tried to preach last night
out of Genesis chapter 28. And I want to go to Genesis chapter
29 tonight and continue this little thought on journeying
with Jacob. Journeying with Jacob. In Genesis chapter 28 and verse
number 10, the Bible said Jacob went out from Beersheba and went
toward Haran. He began a journey in his life. And it was a journey of faith.
Somewhere or another, if we are saved by the grace of God, we
will begin a journey of faith. Of course, my friend, this journey
brought Jacob to a place that we looked at last night called
Luz. A place called Luz. Of course,
after I preach tonight Jacob's conversion, Jacob, the Lord revealing
Himself unto Jacob, Jacob's vow unto the Lord, Jacob setting
up the pillar. He changed the name of that place
unto Bethel, which is the house of God. And from then on, Jacob
was a different individual. He was, my friend, a covenant
child, by birth, my friends, simply in the lineage of Abraham
and Isaac, that he had not had the Lord reveal Himself unto
him until this night at Luz in a dream. He may have embraced
all the promises that God had made to Abraham and Isaac, but
they were not a reality to him until he met God himself. Amen? I want to make a statement
again tonight that I made last night. I am afraid in the last
two or three Generations in the church, we have raised, my friend,
individuals in the church that have embraced, my friend, the
mechanics of religion and salvation, my friend, that have embraced,
my friend, the truth of God in their mind, but have never had
the experience of reality in their hearts. Amen? I think that's
why it's so easy for them to go astray. I think that's why
it's so easy for them to accept false doctrine. My friend, to
live, my friend, wicked lives, and yet talk about, my friend,
knowing God. Amen? If you know God, it will
make a change and a difference in your life. Amen? And so here is Jacob, my friend. He begins this journey from Beersheba
on to Haran. It's around a 500-mile journey. And if he did make it in one
night or one day from Beersheba to Luz or to Bethel, he traveled
about 50 miles that first a night, my friend, and that was above
average traveling in that day. And so it was probably, if it
was an average journey, the rest of the days took Him around fifteen
days to make this journey. May I say the first night, I
think he made more of the trip because he's running from Esau. He's fleeing my friend from the
death sentence that Esau has declared. Oh my, that's what
started me on my journey of faith. It's when I found out that I
was under the death sentence because of my funeral, of my
first birth, of that adamant nature. Oh, hear me. And I ran for refuge. I was hunting
a place. Hey, God, he must have run swiftly
and heard it that night, getting away from Esau. Oh, hey, God,
he must have not known where to go. He had never been out
from under the roof of his father. He had never experienced a night
without that golden mother. Seeing after him that first night,
he stumbled on that place. I call words. Hey, ain't God
ever so tired that He drug up a stone and put His head on it
and went to sleep? Hallelujah. But before He went
to sleep, He must have cried out to God, for He said in chapter
35, He answered me in my distress. Ain't God, ain't God show what
He was going through? Hey, are you hearing me? And
God revealed Himself to him. And Jacob arose and believed
and accepted what God had shown him. Are you hearing me? And
God, and He left that place a different individual. Are you hearing me
tonight? The Bible said Jacob, in our text tonight, went on
his journey. Thank God we touched it last
night. But it means, went on his journey,
simply means he lifted up his feet. Thank God the old Jewish
writers said, I got his heart, caused him to lift up his feet.
There was a different heart in Jacob when he left Bethel than
when he arrived at Luz. He was of a heavy heart, fleeing
from Esau. fatigued, and feeling lonely,
and separated from his parents, and not knowing what the future
held. But after that dream, and after
experiencing the presence of God, and seeing the gate of heaven
open for him, and God It changed his heart, and because his heart
was changed, it made him lift up his feet. He walked a little
lighter. That was the spring in his step. Are you hearing me tonight? Thank
God. When you behold God for yourself,
When you're converted, when you're saved by grace, it will cause
you to lift up your feet. Walk with a difference. Walk lightly. Hey, I love you. Are you here
tonight? I walk with a spring in your
step. I'm with joy in your life. I love you. For it doesn't matter
where the journey leads you. Somebody's with you. Woo! You're not making the tree
a paulownia, now. Hallelujah. Woo! And I guess I'll take a spell
out and shout while the night ain't gone. Oh, cause you didn't
know what I was going to preach tonight, but the Holy Ghost did. And you sung right before I got
up, Jesus. Oh, my head. That's what I'm
telling you. I came this way. of this weary
land, and Jacob, those separated from all those he had walked
with throughout his life, found the free of that night, and to
take his hand and to walk with him through the journey of faith
come tonight for a Savior, and a friend tonight. It's a long journey. It's 500 miles. And it's a long journey from
here to glory tonight. But oh, we've got somebody with
us. Somebody making the trip with
us. We're not alone. I'm never alone, the song says. Christ Jesus is with me wherever
I roam. Amen. with the presence of God in that
place. Oh, he said, the Lord is in this
place. And I knew it not, but the presence
of God in that place. And with the promise of God and
the protection of God, my friend, upon Jacob, he continued the
journey. Hallelujah. Bless His name. Thank God tonight. Hallelujah. Well, bless His name. Thank God. And our verse 1 says tonight,
He came, thank God, went on His journey and came unto the land
of the people of the East. Amen? The Bible's got a way of
telling us, hey God, the end of the thing before it tells
us the details. Hallelujah. So we find the end
of the trip before we find the details. of the trip. I don't know all the details
of our journey from here to glory tonight, but I know where the
trip's gonna end. I know where the journey's gonna
end. I know where we're gonna wander.
I don't know what's between here and there. I thought if he came to the land
of Padanaim, the Bible could have said he came to the city
of Haman. But it didn't say any of that. It said he came to the land of
the people of the east. Amen? Hallelujah. That meant He came to the people,
toward the land of the sun rising. Hallelujah. And we're headed
tonight toward the land of the sun rising. Woo! Woo! Let's S-U-N! Let's S-O-N! Woo! Hallelujah. And a lot of our brothers and
sisters and saints of old have already got there. And the journey
is just about over for us tonight. And we're almost there. To the
land of Asarajah. To the land of perfect day. Just a few more steps and we'll
be there. Just another hill. Just another valley. Just around
the curve. Amen. And oh, we'll be home. The journey will end. Faith will end inside. Oh, are you listening tonight? Amen. He came to the land of
the people of the east. Amen. I'm glad we know where
we're headed tonight. Hallelujah. Bless His name. Most of the people in heaven
tonight, I don't know. Hallelujah. Amen. But I'll be home when I
get there. And they'll welcome me. And when I get there, it'll be
like I've always been there. Are y'all with me tonight? Hallelujah tonight. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. God help us tonight. The majority of those that will
be in heaven are already there tonight. that is in the presence
of God. You're already there tonight.
Hey, God, we're bringing up the minority. Hey, God, we're not
the main harvest. Hey, God, we're just the gleaming
that's left. Oh, they're already gathered
there. But they're waiting on us. Oh, bless His name. And they
can't start anything till we get there. And we're headed that
way. There'll be no setting down into
marriage till the rest of us get married. And we'll all sit
down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Oh, oh. Oh, bless you, sir. Amen. Bless His name. God help us tonight. What a day
that'll be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face,
the one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand
and leads me through the promised land. What a day. Glorious day. That will be. Amen. Hallelujah. Thank God for that day. Hallelujah. Journeying with Jacob tonight,
I want to preach just a moment. If the Lord will let me, I know
he's done touched us tonight. And I don't know if that's all
he wants. If any is, that's fine with me tonight. Hallelujah. I'm glad to leave now and say
it's been good to be here. How? Do you realize how special
this is tonight? We've experienced more right
here, thank God, in less than 45 minutes than some folks will
experience in a lifetime in a day in church. Are y'all hearing
me tonight? It's not many times that it comes
through like this anymore. I'm feeling far between. I want
to say glory to His name tonight. I want to say bless the Lord. Oh, my soul. I know that tremendous
passion is holding me. I want to say praise to the Lord. Glory to God in the highest. We sure are much obliged, and
we sure appreciate it. Hallelujah. Oh, God, it's beautiful. Hallelujah. You don't get many chances. You
better get in while you can. Hallelujah. God bless you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Somebody said, that makes me
nervous. Well, don't get on the cloud with me then. And don't stand in my way when
we get in the game. How could you think we're happy
now? Wait till our feet stride side. Wait till the journey's
over. Wait till the storm is past.
Wait till the night's ended. Wait till the day's start rising.
And the day's old. We'll rejoice. We'll worship. We'll praise Him. Oh, bless His name. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen. Bless His name. Hallelujah. Jacob arrives at
Adanarem. The whole country is Padenarem. The whole region is called Padenarem. The word Padenarem means an extended
place or the place of a plateau, a lifted up place. Amen. And the journey of faith
always brings us higher and higher. You follow the journey of Satan
in the flesh, it's always a downward journey. Amen. Oh yes. Thank God it's always. And I think the life of sin always
leads downward, but the life of faith always leads upward. Hallelujah. It's another plateau. Thank God. It's another mountain. Hallelujah. Until our faith ends
inside. Amen. He comes to that place
called Haran, which was a city in that plateau or in that extended
region. Amen. Chapter 29, when He comes
near the city of Haran, He comes to a field. And in that field,
there's a whale. Hallelujah. Amen. Thank God. Oh, there's always
something that takes place around the well. Hallelujah. Amen. Around that well is three
flocks of sheep, thank God, waiting for someone to roll the stone
away from the whale's mouth so they can drink. Jacob begins
a conversation with those shepherds and asks why. that they have
not watered their flock, they said, because all have not come.
And we have to wait on everyone else. And then when everybody
else gets here, the cattle, the rest of the cattle, the rest
of the sheep, we roll the stone away from the whale's mouth.
And then we drink and go on to our fields. to our pastors. But He says it's high noon. Thank
God. Amen. It's past time. For, thank God, the stone ought
to be took away from the whale's mouth. I want to preach to you
tonight. It's past time to roll the stone
away. Hallelujah. And let the presence
and the power of God again flow in our midst tonight. I don't
know what the story is tonight. I don't know if it's a lack in
your life of personal holiness and consecration tonight. I don't
know if it's idolatry. I don't know if it's division
between you and other folks. In the church, whatever it is
tonight, somebody needs to roll the stone away, not because there's
floods that need to be watered tonight. And the stone is keeping
the water from flowing tonight. Get CNN alive. Get the wrong
radio live tonight and let the presence of God have its way
with you. Amen? Hallelujah. Oh my. He said it's too late
not to take away the stone. Amen? I'm not waiting on everybody
else. Are you listening tonight? You
wait till everybody agrees with you in the church. You wait till the pews get full.
Thank God you'll never roll a stone away. But just go ahead and roll
it away tonight. Thank God and let them drink. I'll get her there waiting. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. By the way, if you wait for the
politicians and the politically correct crowd, amen, thank God,
and the social media, thank God, and the mainstream of America
to get on board. You'll leave the stone on the
whale's mouth, but forget them tonight and roll away the stone
and let the water of God flow. He said we need to let the water
flow even because of the lateness of the hour. If we're ever going
to preach, we need to preach. If we're ever going to pray,
we need to pray. If we're ever going to live right, we need
to live right. If we're ever going to have church, we need
to have church. If we're ever going to get back
to God, we need to get back with God tonight. Am I listening to
the preacher tonight? Hallelujah. He said I ran tonight. Hallelujah. Amen? Not only wants to roll the stone
away because of the lateness of the hour. Amen? But when he
looks up and sees that woman, Rachel, coming with her sheep,
and it's understood by the shepherds that that's Laban's daughter
and his kinfolk. Amen? He said, John, lay around
and wait for the rest of them, but that's my family there. I'm
going to roll away the stone with my family and get a drink.
Hallelujah. Are y'all hearing me tonight?
God help us tonight. Amen what? A dilemma. I don't want discouragement tonight. When we look on those that have
departed from the old ways and left the old past behind, oh,
and took a different route. But Lord in us, I want to roll
the stone away. I want to find me and get it
breaking. I want to be true to the Word
of God. I want to be true to old time religion. I want to
be true, hey God, to this salvation and this faith that was once
delivered to the saints. It's the only faith that will
satisfy the thirsty soul tonight. I'm not looking for a different
way, a different message, a different method. Hey God, hallelujah. Just preach what we've got tonight.
Amen? Hallelujah. And Rachel winds up taking him
to her home, which is Laban's home. And he serves Laban or
lives with Laban for a month. And Laban says, what is it you
want? And he said, I'd love to be married to your daughter,
Rachel. He said, if you'll serve me seven years, you can have
her. Amen? And he served seven years
for Rachel. And chapter 29 said, hallelujah,
that it seemed as nothing because of the love that he had for her. Amen. Laban tricked him, gave
him Leah instead of Rachel. He complained. He said, serve,
fulfill her week and then you'll have Rachel and you'll serve
me seven more years. So 14 years for this woman that he loves.
Hallelujah. But they seem to him as nothing
because of the love that he had for Rachel. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how
to explain it other than in human terms. I guess this is a poor
illustration than I. But when the Lord gets back to
heaven, I can hear the Father say, thank God it's been a while
since you've been gone. Thank God. Have you missed? An angel must have said, how
was it hard? And he must have said, why, it
was as nothing because of my bride. Who for the joy that was
set down before Him, endured the cross and despised the shame. Hallelujah. He said, it was nothing
because I'm looking beyond. My Lord, I'd like to preach here
a while if I could. I don't know how. Are you listening
to me tonight? Those thirty-three-and-a-half
years are not a drop in a bucket to eternity. And it took those
thirty-three-and-a-half years in the likeness of sinful flesh,
but I'll have my bride with me throughout eternity. Oh, six hours on the cross, they
were gruesome and they were terrible, especially those last three.
When I was in outer darkness and separated, Father, for the
first time from You, oh, Father, those three hours, they brought
nothing compared to eternity. and in eternity, that woman I
love, that bride I bought with my blood, dwell with me. Hallelujah. It was as nothing. Hallelujah. Amen. Bless His name. In chapters 29
and 30, consist mainly of Jacob and his time at Haran and of
the family that the Lord blesses him with while he's there. In
chapter 30, the Bible says, hallelujah, that a man, Joseph, is born,
the eleventh son. And after Joseph is born, Jacob
says to Laban, send me away that I may go into my own place and
my own country. Amen? And Laban said in verse 27, If
I found favor in thine eyes, Tarry, for I have learned by
experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake. Amen? That's when Jacob said,
I'll take the cattle and the sheep that are in strength a
man spotted and speckled. Amen? And the Bible said in verse
43 of chapter 30, And the man, speaking of Jacob, increased
exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants,
and camels, and asses. Are you with me tonight? Jacob
is journeying in Haran. And there are some wonderful
blessings that have taken place with Jacob while he's in Haran
and in Paddanuram. There's that great increase of
family, eleven sons and one daughter. Here is all this cattle and maidservants
and menservants and camels and asses. Amen? But can I remind you tonight,
if you'll stay with me now, can I remind you tonight that the
word Haran means charred. And of all the temple and the
natural blessings that Jacob enjoyed, he was living in a charred
place. Literally, he was living in a
place where his works were burning up. And some folks tonight take
the temple and the material and the natural blessings. Amen. Oh, as signs they're in God's
favor and in God's will when actually their works are going
to be burned up because they're building on wood and stubble. Hallelujah. Are you with me tonight? May I remind you the Lord spake
to Jacob and said to him in chapter 31, And verse number 13, I am
the God of Bethel where thou anointest the pillar and where
thou vowedst a vow unto me. For twenty years Jacob had been
journeying in Haran and you cannot doubt that Maitreya materially
and physically he has been blessed. But there is no altar. There
is no revelation of God. There's no service to God down
here. Anybody hearing me tonight? And God said, I want you to remember,
there's something more than what you can gain. There's something
more than worldly pleasure. There's something more than material
gain. Are you all hearing me? Hey,
Jacob, do you remember that place where you poured oil on the pillar? Jacob, do you remember that place
where the ladder sat down and touched the earth? Do you remember
that dream? Hallelujah. or something more valuable, Jacob,
than you journeying in Haran. Yes, it may have been right for
you to come here and to get your life, but you have journeyed
too long in Haran. Is anybody listening tonight?
And I wonder your journey of faith tonight. That started out
with light feet. and a Saviour promised to go
with you all the way. But tonight you found yourself
more involved, more interested in the cares of this life and
the things of this world than you are serving the God that
answered you in your distress that came to you at Bethel. Hallelujah. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. And Jacob, you can gather all
your cattle and your sheep and your camels and your ashes and
your family around, but Jacob, does it satisfy, or would you
love to wrap your hands and your arms again around that pillar
of Bethel where the oil that God was poured upon it? Anybody
here? Hallelujah. Amen. Bless His name. Isn't it good
we shouted first? Hallelujah. Somebody said, you're killing
the meeting. Well, if this kills it, it ought to have been shot
a long time ago. Hallelujah. Amen. I've been down there 20
years, and the conversation of his brother-in-laws, he overhears
their conversation. And in verse 1 they say, Jacob
hath taken away all that was our father's, and of that which
was our father's hath he gotten all this glory. You see, what
they saw, ain't God's glory to them. Amen. Hallelujah. The more you can
have, they thought that was glory. But God reminded Jacob, there's
more. There's a glory that exceeds
the glory of the world. And the modern-day church has
accepted the material and the physical blessings and for the
glory of God. And God said to Jacob, remember,
there's something in Bethel you can't get in Herod. There's something
much in the native country. And all the night for the church,
I remember our roots. I remember where we've come from.
And give back to God tonight. Are y'all with me tonight? Amen. Hallelujah. God help us tonight. In eternity,
it won't matter how shiny the car was down here or how new
it was. It won't matter about the trophy,
dear. Do whatever you want to with
me. I don't mean no disrespect. I'm
just going to preach while I'm here. Your favorite team won't matter
in eternity. Anybody listening to me tonight?
Hallelujah. And your politics in church and
your political maneuvering won't mean nothing in eternity. Are
y'all hearing me tonight? We need to get back to the glory
of God, the power and the presence of God. Hallelujah tonight. Woo! Bless his name. Conversation was different towards
Jacob. They were no longer in favor
of him. Said different things. God, he stole it from our daddy.
Amen. The Bible said in verse 2, Laban's
countenance changed towards Jacob. It was not as before. It is that
laden that said in verse 27, chapter 30, Terry, I have learned
by experience that God has blessed me for thy sake. Somewhere in American history,
somewhere in the halls of Congress, somewhere, thank God, in the
halls of the White House, somewhere in the halls of the State House
and in the city and somewhere in the community, folks have
forgotten. that God's blessings have been on America are because
of His people, and because of the Church, and because of the
Gospel, and because of the Scriptures. Are you hearing me tonight? And
now America wants to tolerate everybody but Christians tonight. Hallelujah. You can be anything
and everything, and they welcome me except an old-time Christian. And they don't want that. Hallelujah. But the community's been blessed
because of the church. And the nation's been blessed
because the people come to these shores looking for a place how
to worship God and raise their children according to the scriptures
tonight. Hallelujah. Amen. But the countenance has
changed towards God's people tonight. And when the conversation
of his brother-in-laws and the countenance of his father-in-law
changed towards Jacob, God took that opportunity to speak to
him. Have you ever noticed God takes
advantage sometimes of natural circumstances to begin to work
in our hearts spiritually? God takes outward pressure and
begins to put inward pressure on us. He saw outward pressure from
his brother-in-law and father-in-law, now inward pressure from the
Lord. And the Lord speaks to Jacob and says, get out of here.
Sent an angel by a dream. And he told his wives, the Lord
sent His angels and told me to go back and go to the land of
my fathers. Amen. Hallelujah. Oh, the Lord
said, remember, I'm the God of Bethel. I'm the God where thou
knowest the pure. I'm the God where thou vowedst
to bow. You forgot your vows, Jacob.
Have you forgot your vows tonight? It's time to pay your vows. Amen. Hallelujah. Return, he
says. Return. Get thee out of this
land. Return to the land of thy kindred. Go back home. Go back
where it all began. Amen. Thank God. Oh, to the church at Laodicea,
it said, Remember from which thou art fallen, and repent,
and do your first works. Amen. Return, the Lord said to
Edsel, for I am married unto thee. Now, everybody hear me
tonight? God wants us to return. Hey, God, arise, He said. Just get up, Jacob. Hallelujah. Hey, you've been churning too
long at Hayward, and the message still goes tonight. Just get
up and head out tonight. It's not complicated. Thank God. Hallelujah. It's not confusing. You don't need a scientist or
a psychiatrist to understand. Just go back where you come from. Just return to your first one.
Just return to your first one. Amen. Hallelujah. This is the Lord speaking. to
Jacob because he's journeyed too long in Haran. He had to go to Haran, but he
stayed too long. And it's somehow something about
the blessings of God that caused us to go astray. It seems like the buffetings
of God, the blisterings, the burdens that God sends our way
draws us closer to Him. But somehow when He loads us
with blessings, we begin to stray. We begin to tarry too long with
the cattle and the oxen. Are you hearing me? Where are
you journeying tonight? You started out on this journey
of faith, and the Lord is with you. Evidently, there is nothing that's
worth mentioning from the time he leaves Bethel, Lodz, until
he gets to Haran. The 500-mile trip, there's nothing
worth mentioning until he gets to the land of the east. The
Lord has been with him. Hallelujah. And you've had an
uneventful triumph. You've been blessed. Very few
of us have been persecuted very much, been talked about very
much. Oh, I know our feelings have
been hurt a few times, but we've not suffered much for Christ.
And He's been with us and blessed us abundantly tonight. Hallelujah. And we've chose to tarry too
long. It is in Hosea chapter 6 and
verse 1 that the Lord spake to the nation of Israel through
this prophet Hosea. And He said normally when a woman
leaves her husband and goes to other lovers, He said she should
never go back to that husband. But He said to Israel, though
you've turned up many lovers, And isn't it a shame tonight?
Isn't it sad that you and I have let other things and other gods
take our affections away from Him that met us at Bethel? But though we have dotted on
many lovers that our Father says, Come back to me. The message is yours tonight. God's been with you on the journey, and He has blessed you materially
and physically and financially. He has blessed your family. He
has blessed you materially. But you've tarried too long in
Haran. And you fell in love more with
the blessings than you have the blesser. You're worshiping the blessings
instead of the blesser tonight. And he says, well, you come back
to my house. Will you come back to that place
where I first revealed Myself to you? Will you come back to
that place where you said it's a dreadful place, the Lord's
in this place? Will you come back to that place
where you anointed the rock, the stone with oil? Will you
come back to that place where you vowed your vows? Will you
tonight? I ain't run out of something
to say. I'm just letting that soak in. Now you shouted and worshipped
and you should have what God wanted us to do. And you was
quick to obey Him when you felt that urge to raise your hand
or cry out or shout or stand to your feet. And you should
have done it. I'm not belittling you for that
tonight. But will you obey Him now? Will you do the same in
this altar call tonight? And hear His call and arise and
remove yourself from where you're at and return to the place He
wants you to tonight. It's been too long in Haran. I think He'd come by tonight
and let us experience what we experienced to remind us of what
we could have more often if we're willing to obey His voice tonight. That's just a little sampling. That is just a little appetizer
tonight of what we have the rest of this night and the rest of
this week. If we'll not journey too long
in hay rant tonight. You stay too long in everything,
there's going to get charred. You only have one thing to offer,
one thing to say for your journey. Let's all stand tonight. Rise. Remove. Return. Remember. The same. You need to pray tonight? Would you pray tonight? Would you leave Haran tonight? Would you journey on with God?
He didn't mean for you to stop at this plateau. He didn't mean
for you to stop at this place. He meant for you to go on. He
meant for you to go on and grow on. Grow in the grace and knowledge
of the Lord. Go on to perfection, spiritual
maturity. If you're here tonight unsaved,
He's saying the same thing to you that He's saying to the saints
tonight. Rise! Rise up! Get up! Ephesians 5.14 says, Awake now
that sleepeth, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give
thee light. You've heard the voice of God.
You've felt the joy of the Spirit of God tonight. You know you
need to be saved. You know you need to get right.
You know you need to dedicate. You know you need to draw night
of God tonight. You know you need to move up.
Why in the world won't you tonight? Why don't you respond to the
call of God? Why don't you be obedient to
the voice of God tonight? Is it well with your soul? Is
your heart right with God? Are you journeying on with God
tonight? Or have you stopped in Padenaram,
Haran, to please Laban? Do you feel the need of prayer?
Do you feel the burden of prayer tonight? Do you hear the voice of God
calling? Do you feel the Spirit of God
willing you tonight? Oh, sinner, do you need to repent,
be saved? Do you need to arise from where
you are and let Christ give you light?
Oh, saints tonight, do we not need to dedicate? Do we not need
to commit ourselves to God? Do we not need to return to our
first love? Do we not need to drown out a
God tonight? Do we not need to seek persecution
of a God and His righteousness? Do we not need to return to our
first love? Are you on the journey of faith
tonight? Have you been to Bethel, the
house of God and the gate of heaven? Are you journeying towards
the lay east tonight? Are you tired of sin? Go back to your altar! Go back
to your pillar! Pay your bile! Have you obeyed the Lord tonight?
Can you leave this service with clean hands and a clear conscience? Can you leave this service saying,
I did what God wanted me to do? Do you need to roll a stone away? What is it you need to get right?
What is it God has want you to do tonight? The outward blessings are prevalent. The outward blessings are overrun. But insides are done. Inside
of your hearts are empty. Inside of your hearts there's
no glory. Inside of you, there is no fellowship
with God. Inside of you, I got you need
of a joy of His salvation restored. Oh, for His presence and His
power again in your life tonight. Amen. It will take more than
the outward and the temporal blessing to satisfy the inward
man. There must be an altar. There
must be a divine manifestation of the presence of God. And you'll
only get that when you arrive and go back to Bethlehem. You'll
only find that when you pray in the house. You'll only get
that when you return. Why don't you get right tonight?
Why don't you just be honest? Why don't you come clean tonight? Why don't you obey the voice
of God? Why don't you do what you know
you should tonight? Why don't you let go and let
God have His way tonight? Why don't you respond to the
call of God? Why don't you say yes to the
voice of the Savior tonight? Quit playing games. Quit fooling yourself. Quit trying
to fool others tonight. and just come clean and say,
I need something from our soul tonight. Have you journeyed too long in
Haran tonight? I reckon I'm through. Thank you, brother. God bless
you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. You're the country, you're the
country. You're this dead man's country. Lord have mercy. Heaven Lord, bless you ladies. Bless you. Thank you, Lord. Glory to God. Glory to God. I feel kind of like the prophet
did when he planted the vineyard and done everything he could
do. He went to look for fruit and he couldn't find none. He
looked around, no doubt, dumbfounded a little bit, and said, What
more could I have done? I know God's done all He can do. I'm pretty sure Brother Terry's
done all he knows to do. That don't leave nobody but us. I'm glad you've come to hear
what He had to preach. But you'd be a whole lot better off if
you'd heed what He had to preach. Amen. Amen. Would it be irreverent and ugly
if I asked all the pastors here if your church is here and preaching
like that? If they ain't, you ought to be
the first ones in this office. You can get mad at me if you
want to, but that's it. That's right. Too much glamour and fame in
this way and now anyway. Quit lying to your congregation.
Quit telling them you love them when you don't preach to them. That's right. I prayed all week. If it takes
it, let Him knock us plumb on the pew. Amen. Me. You. Us. Where's the glory in
your life at now, friend? Where's the glory in your life?
Time. You rolled a stone away. We're
running out of time. If you value time at all, you
better get yourself right. Because this is the most precious
time. You'll have. This is it. This is it. Well, I'll wait till next time.
Well, there may not be a next time. I'm not going to tell you
there's not going to be a next time, but I'm going to tell you
there could not be a next time. Amen. We've shouted, we've prayed,
we've sung, we've pleaded, We prayed. Amen. Well, that wasn't what I was
looking for when I come. Well, that's all you'll get if
you come here. If you're looking for a place to play house and
play church, you just might as well answer that question now.
It don't go. Amen. I told my church the other day,
Brother Josh, I said, I'm going to finish with the man I started
with. And he ain't changed a bit. And when I started nearly 40
years ago, what was right was right, and what was wrong was
wrong. Amen. God bless you. Bless her sweet
little heart. They don't need you hiding it
behind nobody. God knows all about it. You ought
to come. You are to come. This preacher
has preached his heart out and preached his heart out in love
because he cares for you, the people of God and the church.
Bless us. Amen. Amen. Amen. Somebody said, Preacher, we done
been here too long. Been just a few minutes to me. Just a few days in our journey.
I don't get no hairy clothes, nothing like this out, because
this is what I long for. This is what I yearn for. This is kind of the way it was
when I started. Now, my God, if men get to shouting
while a preacher's preaching, somebody will get aggravated
and say, I wish ain't Huss walked here, what he was saying. You
wouldn't like it. Amen. If that's your attitude,
you wouldn't like it. When you get to where you can't
hear what he's saying, just join in and shout with the rest of
us. Old-time meeting. Sinners ought to get saved. Bless
you. Bless you, baby. Help us, Lord, save both of them. Bless you, baby. When you're gone, I'll be gone. I'll be gone. I'll be gone. Bless you both. How about it, friend? Obey God. Obey God. Pray, preach, and praise. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Our altars are never closed,
and we never open them. We don't have no control about
what goes on around here. When you get around here, it's
between you and God. Amen. Amen. If you need to talk to
God, you just might as well come down here and choose this place. Amen. Amen. How sweet it is. Amen. Now in the Lord's Church. Amen. Amen. Amen. You keep fighting a good fight
of faith, you'll lay hold on eternal life. You'll know what
it is. Amen. Amen. We want this meeting to be complete
for you now. Amen. It's just one. We want it to be complete for
you. Hell is going to be an awful place. Some of you great evangelists
in our land today don't even believe in it, but it's still
real and it's still hot. By the way But beyond the river
Georgia Hallelujah Lies a field of endless day Farther on, still go farther. Count the miles, don't one by
one. Jesus went forsaken. He's better Farther on Oh my brother, are you weary
on the roughness of the way? Does your strength begin to fail
you? And your vigor to decay? Arthur, Arthur, still go onward. Count the miles gone, one by one. Jesus will forsake you never. It is better farther on. At my grave I'll still be singing. Though you weep for one that's
gone, sing it as we once did sing it. It is better farther on. are their own still go farther. Count the milestone one by one. Jesus will forsake you It is better farther on. Farther on we'll go. Farther than the milestones one
by one. Jesus will forsake you never. It is better for the wrong. Amen. Let me believe that. Amen. Yes, yes. I don't recognize anything we
can go through in this world to compare what he has for us
over there. Evening. Evening. Evening. Evening. Evening. Evening. Come on. Bless you, Katie. Thank
you, Lord. Joy unspeakable, full of glory. Amen. Bless you all. Amen. Everybody satisfied? Boy, I'm pleased with the meeting.
I just wish I could feel like it had been completed. Amen. And I said, well, we've done
all we can do. That doesn't make it complete. Amen. That doesn't make it complete.
We've been made rejoicing. It's been great and it's been
good. And I appreciate you for coming. We invite you back again
tomorrow night.
