that leadeth me, he leadeth me,
he leadeth me by his own hand. Faithful follower I would be,
for by his hand he leadeth me. Lord, I would clasp thy hand
in mine, nor ever murmur, Content whatever lot I see, since
tis my God that leadeth me. He leadeth me. He leadeth me by his own hand. He leadeth me. His faithful follower I would
be, for by his hand And when my task on earth is
done, when by thy grace the victories won, In death's cold wave I will
not flee, Since Thou through Jordan leadeth me. He leadeth me, He leadeth me, His faithful follower I would
be For by his hand he leadeth me For by his hand he leadeth
me What a blessing that was. Amen. I highly doubt that song would
be sung at John MacArthur's church, but you never know. Some Calvinists
don't believe that God leads, but that's another subject. I'm thankful for the leading
of God. Amen. He leads through His Word. Amen. We're thankful
for that. All right, be back tonight if
you would, and Brother Yankano will be preaching tonight. I'm
looking forward to that. He really messed things up this
morning and taught about a 15-minute Sunday school lesson, and I will
never be able to measure up to that. And everybody got left
happy and joyful, and God did a great work in 10 minutes, you
know. Anyway, so, no, that was good. We'll show the video again
this evening. And if there's any other questions,
they'll be in the back for any questions that way. And it's
exciting to see missionaries able to go somewhere where there's
a work that's kind of been started and just needing somebody to
come in and pastor it and bring it along and build it. And so
we're thankful for that. And we'll be looking forward
to see some more of that here tonight. All right, Brother Jim
read a text for us out of Revelation chapter 5. It's not where we're
going to be today, but I wanted you to focus on every nation,
every people, every tribe, every tongue. and on the subject for
the message today. And the subject this morning
is, we'll see here in just a little bit, but I was thinking about
missions, I was thinking about things of the gospel getting
out into all of the world, and though everybody in the world
has needs, not everybody really has the same need, right? I mean,
think about it, a villager in Africa doesn't have the same
need as a villager in Sweden. Could you imagine in Africa when
they got, who just lost the Super Bowl this year? Who was that?
The Chiefs beat the, what is going on? I forgot who they beat. Well, anyway, just imagine inside
of a box of T-shirts of the losing football team last year in the
Super Bowl, right? All those losing shirts go to
Africa, right? I mean, they're all walking around with, you
know, anyway. Could you imagine if they, well,
they do, I mean, well, could you imagine taking that out and
in there, right? are some, is a snowsuit, right,
and some long underwear, and some, you know, some winter-type
boots. And just so happens, somebody
up in Sweden had a compassion for these Africans in Nigeria,
so they sent them a snowsuit. I mean, that really wouldn't
fit a need, would it? It might kill them, right? It
might be a little too hot. And so, although everybody has,
everybody in the world has needs, not everybody in the world has
the same needs. And even when people across the
world have the same problems, they don't always have the same
remedy, right? They don't always have the, how
many remember, how many remember COVID, right? Anybody remember
that? So long ago. Some of you young
ones don't remember that. And I mean, they had all sorts
of different things of what would fix it, whether it was Moderna's
vaccine, or Pfizer's vaccine, or Johnson & Johnson's vaccine,
or ivermectin, or whatever, vitamin D, and go walk out in the sunshine,
or whatever it was. I mean, everybody had a different
idea of what would fix that as a remedy. I mean, think about
it. In the United States of America, If you get sick with the flu,
what do you do? Well, you take chicken soup, right? Chicken
soup, right? There's not always the same remedy.
You get the flu in North Korea and what do they do? Well, they'll
shoot you, right? And they'll just take you off
the planet and it's cheaper, okay? I mean, what am I... just
because everybody has the same need, they don't always have
the same remedy for the need. But I want to look at today,
there is a problem across the planet that has the same origin,
that has the same symptoms, that has the same diagnosis. Hey,
and it has the same remedy. and I want to look this morning
at the need, the need for every race. There is a need, every
race, every kindred, every tongue, every people across the planet,
they have the same problem and they have the same need. What
is the same problem? Well we know what it is, you
know what it is, and I know what it is. The problem that we all
have is three letters, S-I-N. It's sin. That is the problem
we all have. For all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God. Judy, is Jana a sinner? Oh yeah,
see? Sisters know. Jana, is Judy a
sinner? Oh, let's do tell, huh? Let's
not. right no no we're all sinners
a man for all we believe the Word of God we don't need hey
listen you can even say I don't believe that verse well fine
it is true by experience and by by what we can see all have
sinned and come short of the glory of God and may I tell you
the verse is true amen let me ask you this can anybody raise
their hand today and say I have never sinned anybody anybody a taker Right? It's pretty incredible, isn't
it? It actually makes it absolutely stunning that the Lord Jesus
Christ stepped out in front of that religious crowd and said,
which of you convinces me of sin? Oh my, I would never say
that. Can I tell you nobody stepped
up? Amen. Because he was sinless. Amen.
Hey, listen, everybody in this room, we listen, we are all sinners
by nature, by choice. Romans 310, as it is written,
for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans
310, for there is, this is what it says, for there is none righteous
No, not one. There is a universal symptom
of every person on this planet and everybody who has ever been
born and everybody who ever will be born has the same symptom
of sin. With that, with the symptom,
there is also a universal diagnosis of every person on the planet
as well. Listen, if you have been infected by sin, the diagnosis
is not good. If you were to go into the doctor
and say, well doctor, here's the symptoms I'm having. I lied. I cheated. I stole. I didn't honor mother and father. right? Go down the list, right?
I have a problem. The symptoms are, these are the
symptoms and the doctor would say, oh this isn't good. Well,
what can I do for it? Well, nothing. What's going to
happen? Well, you're going to die. Well,
is there a remedy? No. No. There's no remedy for
this. You are going to die. It even tells us, right, Romans
5, 12, wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and
death by sin, and so death passed upon all men for all have sinned. Amen. Hey, listen, we can't deny
it. And we know that in this room that it is the symptom of
every person on this planet. There is a diagnosis for everybody
on this planet. And we have found out and we
know that it is true that sin is the most deadly disease on
the planet. Hey, it's more deadly than the
Spanish flu. It is more deadly than cancer. It is more deadly
than covid. It is. Everybody has been infected
and everybody will die because of it. Think about it. There
are estimates out there. I don't know how accurate they
are. I haven't spent the time to count. I can't count that
high. But there are estimates that since, in the last 6,000
years, there have been 130 billion people on the planet come and
go. Right now, there's 8 billion people on the planet, close to
8 billion people on the planet. And can I tell you, everybody
who has ever lived, died. Everyone living, you're gonna
die. Can I tell you in this room, think about this, by the year
2094, most of these little ones will be sitting around a table
talking about us, because we'll be gone. Some of these little
ones may be on a mission field. Some of these little ones may
be serving God somewhere, and they'll be sitting around the
table talking about a service they were in when they were a
kid. They'll be talking about their mom or their dad, or they'll
be talking about their grandparents. Why? Because we'll all be gone.
We'll all be in the grave. By 2094, 99% of this room is
going to be gone. By 2124, almost everybody living
on the planet today will be gone and in the grave. Oh, it's going
fast, isn't it? Why? Why? Because of sin. Wherefore is
it appointed unto men once to die, and after this, the judgment. There is a universal problem. There's a reason why we're meeting
here today. There's a reason why we've been
praying about what the Lord would have us to give to worldwide
missions. There's a reason why we bring missionaries in and
send them out. There's a reason why we go out
into our own neighborhood, into our own stores or wherever we
do business and all around where we live. There's a reason why
we go out because there is a universal problem, which is called sin. And the problem with that is
that we're all going to die. Now, has anybody here ever been
bitten by a snake? I mean, I've been, yeah. Did
it once. I used to love catching snakes
when I was a kid, until they caught back, and I didn't like
that. Anybody been bitten by a venomous snake? Jack, and you're
alive. We'll call you Jupiter. Anybody else been bitten by a
venomous snake? when I was in Western Australia last year to
visit our missionaries, the Shropes over there, and we were going
over, we were in Margaret River, we were going over towards the
coast and just driving this back road, and I saw this snake, took
about half the road up, and I said, oh, that was a snake, and of
course, he turned around and went back, and he said, oh, that's
a dugite, and this thing's pretty cool. Pretty small, right? I mean, that big around, but
the thing was maybe five, six feet long or more than that.
And in Australia, if you don't know this, I think most everybody
knows this, most things living there will kill you, one way
or the other, they'll kill you. And so the dugite is one of the
top of the deadliest snakes in the world. It's right up there
with the cobra and the taipan and some of these other ones.
And it's pretty bad. They say a drop of its venom
will begin, if it gets in your body, a drop of venom will start
to cause your blood to clot and it can kill you. And 30% of the
bites of Western Australia are from the dugite. But if you do
get into the hospital, okay, and you get to there, you can
get the anti-venom, you can get the anti-venom put in you and
you can live, okay, you can live. And so, here it is, there is
an antivenom. I remember it was, Brother Butch
told me, he goes, you know, they say if you're bit by the dew
guide, if you can, and you're out in the bush somewhere, if
you can lay flat and not move for eight hours, it's possible
your body will build an immunity to that and you'll be fine. And
if you are able to just rest that thing off, I mean, you have
your own antivenom now and you'll never be bothered. And I had
this thought of laying on the ground somewhere in the bush
in Australia. I think I'll die. Because while you're trying to,
I don't see how you can keep your heart rate down when the
bird-eating spiders are looking at you and the scorpions are
walking by and the Taipans are, I mean, it's like, just shoot
me in the head, please. Right? That'd be much worse.
My nephew, he was a little boy, he was up in it when they lived
in eastern Australia. He was climbing up in a tree and my
niece said he just screamed like a girl and jumped out of the
tree, almost fell out of the tree. And as he got up into the
tree, he was looking face to face with a bird-eating spider. And he's still not right, friend.
He has problems, right? Absolutely. Listen, if you've been bit by
a snake, you have a problem and you need to fix it by a venomous
snake. And I want to show you three
individuals in the New Testament that illustrate the problem and
the remedy. I want you to turn to Acts chapter
8. We're going to look at Acts chapter 8, Acts chapter 9, and
Acts chapter 10. Are you nervous now? We're making
up for all that time lost in Sunday school. Acts chapter 8,
Acts chapter 9, Acts chapter 10, In Acts 8, verse 26-40, we are
introduced to the Ethiopian eunuch. He was that treasurer of Kandesi. And we know what happens there.
We're going to look at that in Acts chapter 9. We're going to
be introduced to Saul of Tarsus. In Acts chapter 10, we're going
to be introduced to Cornelius, that centurion of the Italian
band. Every one of these men had the
same problem. Look at Acts chapter 8. Look
at verse 26. And the angel of the Lord spake
unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south, unto the
way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went. And behold,
a man of Ethiopia, and eunuch of great authority under Kandese,
queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure."
This guy was very important. He was the top bean counter in
all of Ethiopia. This guy would have been a CPA
of all CPAs, alright? This guy was something else.
And so, who had the charge of all of
her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, was
returning, and sitting in the chariot, read Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip,
Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran
thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and
said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How
can I? Except some man should guide
me. And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with
him. The place of the scriptures which
he read was this, He was led as a sheep into the slaughter,
and like a lamb dumb before his shearers, so opened he not his
mouth. And in his humiliation, his judgment was taken away.
And who shall declare his generation? For his life is taken from the
earth. And the eunuch answered Philip
and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? Of
himself or some other man? And look at verse 35, Philip
opened his mouth. It began at the same at the same
scripture, here it is, and preached unto him Jesus. I like that. Here is this Ethiopian eunuch,
it said he was up to worship, he understood, he knew he was
worshiping the God of Israel, he was worshiping the eternal
God, and here he was for some reason, he was reading the scroll
of Isaiah, what was going on? Well he had a need he was trying
to fulfill. Something was going on in his life, and here God
sent Philip to preach to him, Jesus Christ. Over in Acts chapter
9 you see in verse 1 just right there we're introduced to Saul
of Tarsus. When you come to chapter 9 you
realize back in the beginning of chapter 8 Stephen was preaching
to the religious crowd and he gave them an incredible history
lesson from Abraham all the way up to the Messiah and He was
telling them all of their history and he came to the very end and
that very point of telling them that it was Jesus Christ who
was the Messiah who they had slain on the tree, who they had
crucified, who they had rejected. And through the preaching and
the conviction of the Spirit of God, those religious crowd
began to rise up and they got so angry that they took Stephen
and they dragged him off to be stoned. But the Bible says that
they took his garments and they laid them at the feet of a man
a man named Saul. Now according to what I have
read, sometimes you hear some customs of the day and I don't
know, I didn't live in that day and I'm sure some of these things
are true, so I'm just supposing the things that I've read are
somewhat true, but they have said that it was commonplace
that when there was some type of a debate, whether it was religious
or otherwise, if there was some type of debate between the two
individuals, that whoever won the debate, right? The outer
garments or whatever the garments of the one who lost would be
set at the feet of the one who won the debate. Well the Bible
says, I think that's very interesting, I don't know if I've proven that
yet or not, but I do know this, the Bible says for some reason
that the clothing of Stephen was laid at the feet of Saul.
And the Bible says that Saul was consenting unto his death.
For some reason Saul had the ability to say thumbs up or thumbs
down. Saul had the ability and the
authority to say yes or to say no. And so here we are, he put
thumbs down and Stephen was stoned. But I'll tell you this, we see
in verse 1 of 9, Saul is yet breathing out threatenings and
slaughters unto the disciples of the Lord, and he went unto
the high priest and he wants letters, he goes, now I want
to go to Damascus. It was brought up in Sunday School, 1 Peter
5, 8, that the devil is a roaring lion, walketh about seeking to
whom he may devour. And I know we've gone through
1 Peter just recently, and if you'll remember I mentioned that,
and a little bit of a lion, that when a lion receives a death
blow, Its roar can be heard for up to two miles. And it will
go and start this process of taking out everything in its
path. It just wants to wipe out everything. And here by the inspiration
of the Holy Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit of God included in
that passage of 1 Peter that He is as a roaring lion walking
about seeking whom He may devour. He is out, and here's the apostle
Paul. He's yet breathing out threatenings.
Why? He had been wounded. What was he wounded? He was wounded
by the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was under the, hey,
watch this. Jesus says, when down here in
verse four, and Saul is going to Damascus, he is knocked down
to the ground by the brightness and the glory of the Lord Jesus
Christ, and Jesus calls out to him, and he says, Saul, Saul,
Why persecutest thou me? This is for you. Who was Paul going out to go
after? He was going after churches, right? He was going after the
churches. What did Jesus say? You persecuted me. Listen, hey,
friend, don't touch the church. Don't, you're touching the person
of the Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 118, it says, he is
the head of the body, the church. It is his church. He said, I'll
build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against
it. Be careful how you undermine a church that is the church of
the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul was going out,
and the glory of the Lord Jesus knocked him down, and Jesus said,
why persecutest thou me, right, in verse four? And what did Paul
say, or Saul at this time, what did he say? He said, Who art
thou, Lord? Oh, he knew. He knew. How do you know that? He said,
I'm Jesus whom thou persecuted. It is hard for thee to kick against
the pricks. And we know what that is. They're
those long poles with a sharp end on them used to direct animals. to poke him, to prod him, to
get him to go in the direction that you desired them to go.
What do we know by this? Well, here's what we know. That
ever since the time of Stephen and the stoning of Stephen, that
Paul heard the gospel and he watched the stoning of Stephen.
Ever since that time, Paul went on a rampage to take out everything
that he could and in his destruction, on his road of destruction, Jesus
showed up and he said, kind of hard to kick against the pricks,
buddy. What was going on? The apostle, Saul at this time,
what? He was under conviction. Ever
since the preaching of Stephen, the Holy Spirit of God had been
goading him in a certain direction. And Saul had said, no, no, no,
no. And Jesus finally intervened
and said, no, you're going to stop. I like what Saul said. Lord, what will thou have me
to do? Can I tell you what that Bible
word for that is right there? It's repentance. He was going
a direction. He was presented with truth.
And he said, okay, let's go this direction. This is what we see
here in the Saul of Tarsus. And then finally, in Acts chapter
10, we see Cornelius. Acts chapter 10, look at verse
44. Acts chapter 10, verse 44. And the Bible says, while Peter
yet spake these words, remember, he was at Simon the Tanner's
house, he was in a trance waiting for lunch, and God began to speak
to him, and he said, I have called clean, don't call thou unclean.
The Gentiles are not unclean, they need the gospel, is essentially
what God was saying. He said, you need to go to see
this man named Cornelius. What was Cornelius doing? He
was praying, he was giving alms, he was worshiping the God of
Israel, but he didn't know Jesus. And so God told Peter to go to
Cornelius and give him the gospel. In verse 44, While Peter yet
spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard
the word. And they of the circumcision
which believed were astonished as many as came with Peter, because
that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy
Ghost." Well, hold on a minute. When did the Holy Ghost fall
on them? Well, He couldn't have fallen on them before they believed,
right? Obviously, while Peter was preaching,
Cornelius and all of the house that he filled with his friends
and neighbors, they heard the gospel and they said, yes, this
is Him. I believe it. In the moment of
their belief, the Holy Spirit of God indwelt them and filled
them. And we see this here, for they
heard, verse 46, them speak with tongues and magnify God, and
then answered Peter, can any man forbid water, that these
should not be baptized? Why are they being baptized?
because they believed, right? They believed. Which have received
the Holy Ghost as well as we, and he commanded them to be baptized
in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him, to Terry,
certain days. They needed disciples. And so
Peter sat around, stayed around, and he's gonna disciple these
new believers. If you'll notice this here this morning, three
men at different stages of life, when we are introduced to them,
the Ethiopian is researching. Saul is running away from God. Cornelius is ready for the gospel. They are researching. There is
the researcher, there is the runner, and there is the one
who is ready. Three different people. Three different people
groups. Let me show you this. Remember
when Noah got off the ark, who was left? Him, his three sons,
their wives, and Noah's wife. Right? And three of those sons,
who was it? It was Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And all of the world was populated
after the flood, the world was populated by Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Well, who are these people? Well,
Shem, right, are the Shemites. You would call them today Semites.
They are the Jews. Ham went down into Africa and
the lineage of Ham are Africans. Japheth went off into the Europe
and this would be us who are European of some sort are the
line in the lineage of Japheth. Watch this, Ethiopian eunuch
was of the lineage of Ham. Saul of Tarshish, a Hebrew of
Hebrews, a Pharisee, a Sanhedrin, trained under Gamaliel, a Jew,
was of the line of Shem. And here you have Cornelius of
the Italian band, of the line of Japheth, a European. Do you see this? The Gospel has
reached to every tribe, to every tongue, to every people, right
here. Ham and Shem and Japheth. Three different people groups
are here in these three chapters. And finally, notice here, three
different avenues of trust. Now in Psalm 20 and verse 7,
the Bible says, Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Amen. But
you notice here, this Ethiopian, he wasn't trusting in God. No,
he was researching and he was reading, but really his trust
was in the financial system. He had worked his way up under, under Kandese of the Queen of
Ethiopia. He'd worked his way up, and his
trust, no doubt, was in the financial system. That was his expertise.
He was all about money. And you look at Saul of Tarsus.
He was a man of great authority, a Pharisee, a Sanhedrin, as I
said, taught under Gamaliel. He was a Jew of Jew, a Hebrew
of Hebrews, and his trust was in religion, right? Jesus, remember
when Jesus told them over there search the Scriptures, for in
them ye think ye have eternal life." That's where you think
your eternal life is. And Jesus said, and they are
they which testify of me. And here you have Saul whose
trust was in religion and you have Cornelius no doubt maybe
You can see trust in government. A man of military authority.
Over a hundred, listen to this, over a hundred men of the military
of the great world empire at that time, the Roman army. These guys had different avenues
of trust. They were from different people
groups and they are in different stages of their life in their
relationship to the God of heaven. Watch this please. None of them
were able to remedy the problem of sin that was in every one
of their lives. They couldn't do it through money.
They couldn't do it through religion. They couldn't do it through power.
Listen, and neither can you, and neither can the rest of this
world. Hey, listen, when we go out into the world, the problem
isn't money. It's not they don't have enough
wells to drink water. It's not that they don't have
enough housing. It's not that they don't have enough to eat.
No, the problem is sin Sin, sin, and that is what needs to be
remedied in their life. None of them were able to remedy
the problem of sin in their life. Your sins have severed you. If
you're here today without Christ, they have severed you from your
Creator. But can I tell you the good news? He wants you back. He wants you back. He created
you. He made you. He loves you. He
died for you and He wants you back. And you know what? If you
don't realize it, I think those of you who are saved and born
again, you realize it now, but maybe then you didn't and sometimes
the world doesn't realize it. But listen, they want them back
too. They want them back. Oh, no, no, they try to fill
it with all sorts of things. There is an emptiness and a vacuum
inside of each and every one of us that I believe that God
has created, but you know what the world does? They begin, and
we did it, right? We did it. We tried to fill the
void with money. We tried to fill it with religion.
We tried to fill it with authority and with power, but you know
what? It didn't work. It never worked. There was always
something missing that we said, I just can't put my finger on
what's wrong. Oh, we know what's wrong now.
We know what was wrong, don't we? Yeah. The thing you were
trying to fill that void with, it didn't work, did it? It didn't
work at all. The only thing that can remedy
the sin problem and reconcile you back to the Creator who wants
you back is the atoning blood of Jesus Christ and that's it.
That's all. There's a universal problem,
but praise the Lord, there's a universal remedy. I don't care,
hey, I don't care what village you go into, I don't care what
island you find yourself on, I don't care what jungle you
find you can get to, I don't care where you go on the planet,
you will never find somebody who is not a sinner, and you
will never find somebody of whom the blood is not powerful enough
to wash away every sin and bring them back into a relationship
with God. Everybody. Universal remedy. It is. But let me leave you with one
last thing. The Ethiopian Saul of Tarsus,
Cornelius, Ham, Ham, Ham, Ham, Sham. I like that. Ham, Shem,
Japheth, the world, all had the same disease. all took the same
remedy. Hey, listen to me. They all had
the same disease as we did. It all takes the same remedy,
but somebody had to tell them about the remedy. Amen? Somebody had to tell them. Hey, the Ethiopian eunuch, he
was reading the Scriptures and he said, what does this mean?
Who is this? Is it speaking of Isaiah or is
it somebody else? Paul and Saul had heard the gospel
and rejected it. Right? He had heard it. Cornelius
was praying to the God of heaven. He had no problem, but somebody
had to come and tell him about Jesus Christ. Somebody had to
go. Somebody had to preach. Somebody
had to teach. Somebody had to get out of their
comfort zone, Peter, and go to somebody that he thought he should
never go to. How shall they hear? How shall
they call on him who they have not believed in? How shall they
believe in him? in whom they have not heard, and how shall
they hear without a preacher?" The command given to the church
by Jesus. Can I tell you something this
morning? It's still enforced today. No, that's really why
we're here this morning. It's not to see how well-dressed
Brother Earl is. It's not to see how Brother Martin
looks today, how closely shaved he is looking good today. We're
not here for all sorts of things that some people come to church
for. We're not here for business contacts. This would be a bad
place. Most everybody is retired. Not
a good place to come here for business contacts. We're here because of the Gospel
of Jesus Christ. We're here because the world needs to hear. We're
here because somebody's got to go. And we're here because somebody
has to send them. It's not rocket science. It's
really easy, amen? It really is. God is a missionary. This is a missionary book. Jesus
came and he preached. Peter preached. Philip preached. Stephen preached. Watch this.
A deacon preached. An apostle preached. A layman
in the church went out and preached the gospel and was martyred for
it. Boy, the power of the Holy Ghost was on him. You say, well,
no, I have my role and the preacher has his role. Well, I'll tell
you what, the same Holy Ghost that empowered Stephen to preach
up to his own martyrdom is the same Spirit of God in you that
is empowering you to go out and preach the gospel just the same
way. So what about you? What about you? What are you
doing with the gospel? Forget going around the world.
What are we doing across the street? There is a need for every race. And the church has the remedy.
We have the antidote. We have the vaccine. We have
it. What is it? It's the precious
blood of Jesus Christ. Tell you what, you get that blood
in your veins and you'll live forever. Amen. But they've got to hear
about it. They've got to hear. What good
is the remedy if it stays on the shelf? If it stays in the
cabinet, if it stays between, inside the walls of the church,
if it stays inside the walls of your home, if it stays within
the walls, listen, of your heart and mind, what good is it? This might be kind of a little silly, but I don't think
it, eh, it's not, now that I got your attention. You can't spell the word gospel
without the word go. You can't do it. You gotta go. And you can't obey the command
to preach the gospel without going. Let me ask you again, what are
you doing to reach a dying world with the gospel? You say, well,
I give the missions. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
But that's not it. That's not all. That's not all. Because there's people that you
can go to. I like what Brother Peace said to me the other day.
I'm a Christian first and then a pastor. We're all Christians
first. What does that mean? We're all
ambassadors for Christ. We all represent the King of
kings and the Lord of lords. The great, the commander of our
salvation has told us to go on to all the world and preach the
gospel. It's exactly what he said. What
are you doing to reach the world with the gospel? Let me ask you
today. You know what I've learned in
my own life? When I get away from the Lord, I know you're shocked, I know.
My wife's not at all, she's like, I know, yeah. You know what I
found out the problem is when you get away from the Lord? I
can list all sorts of things, and they're right to list. I
can say, well, it's work, it's phone, it's, you know, disappointment
and discouragement and bitterness. I can list all of these things
that can be the problem, right? But they're a symptom of the
problem. You know what the problem is? Just right here. Just a heart. That's all it is. My heart got away from the Lord.
Why? Well, maybe you got bitter. Maybe you got disillusioned.
Maybe you got entangled with the things of this world again.
You got drawn away and enticed of your own lust. You just got
away from the Lord. It all still comes back to the
heart. Because you know what I found out? When I'm desperately
in love with Jesus, some of these things, they don't even show
up on the map. They don't. Hey, do you remember the days
when you first got saved? I've known people, I've had the
joy of seeing people get saved and leading people to the Lord
and having them come back and say, this week's been awesome
because this hasn't even bothered me. I haven't even said this
wrong all week. What was going on? They were
so in love with the Lord Jesus Christ. They had no care for
anything else. You know what I'm saying is,
the reason we get away from the goal of the Gospel is because the heart just has
gotten away from the lover of our soul. And I think one of the best things
that we could do today as we conclude an emphasis on missions,
I think one of the best things we could do today is get alone
with the Lord. If it's an issue and say, Lord,
would you change my heart? Can I tell you something? You
can't change your heart, but God can. God can. And sometimes the heaviness of
this world just steals our heart. The trials of the world, they
steal our heart. We get disappointed and discouraged. Well, I thought
he would have done this and I thought he could have done that. Don't let your heart get stolen.
And today what you may need to do to get a heart for a lost
and dying world again. You just ask the Lord to give
you a heart for Himself again and Him alone. And you know what
will come? A heart for the world. If you're here today, you're
watching online or maybe you're even here, and you're an unbeliever,
you've never been born again of the Spirit of God, You put
all your trust in religion, right, and your goodness and your righteousness.
But can I remind you, the Lord Jesus said, we're told that your
righteousness is as filthy rags. Yeah, that's right. Listen, nothing can remedy the
problem you have this morning. Nothing can fill the void that
you're trying to fill this morning. You need Jesus. And if you would
come this morning, if you would call, if you would email, whatever
you need to do, If you had come, we can show you through the word
of God how you can have a relationship with the God of heaven. Amen. Yeah. There's one need for every
race. There's one remedy for the entire
race, the human race, and that's Jesus Christ. Are you going?
Are you going? Our Father, thank you this morning
for the simplicity of thy word. I'm thankful for those who have
a heart to go. I'm thankful for those that can look out upon
the panoply of the human race and be gripped in their heart
by the condition of lost people that are just like blind people,
like groping in the dark, trying to find truth and trying to find
satisfaction in their own selves. And we can sit here and know
that, no, it won't work. It never will work. Lord, we
have the gospel, we have the truth, and Lord, would you just
work in our own hearts that we would be gripped again by the
condition that's out ahead of us, and that we would be busy
with the gospel in going and in giving, in going and in giving,
not one or the other, but both, in going and giving. God, would
you just change our hearts? Would you enlarge our hearts?
Lord, I know there's some here that love you, that give, they
go, they love you. But Lord, they might even ask
that you'd enlarge their heart, that they could go more and give
more. Father, we thank you for what
you're gonna do today. And we ask it in the name of Jesus.
Amen. Let's stand this morning, if
you would please, the instrument will play. I don't know how the
Lord has spoken to you this morning, but the invitation is open. Are you going? Are you going? Could you go more? Could you
give more? Maybe you just need to spend a little time with the
Lord and say, Lord, would you enlarge my heart today? Maybe you could be honest with
the Lord and say, Lord, would you change my heart today? It's been
away from you. I've gotten entangled. I've gotten
entangled with things of this world. And the very thought of missions,
though I know it's right, though I know it's necessary, though
I'm behind it 100%, it just doesn't grip my heart like it ought to. You can get down and pray right
where you are. You can come. There's room up here. There's
still room. Maybe you're here today and you need to be born again. You've
never been saved. We have people who are trained
in the Bible that can take the Word of God and show you how
your sins can be forgiven and you can be reconciled again to
your Father. Would you come? It's not in your religion, it's
not in your baptism, it's not in your good works, it's not
in any of that. You need to meet Jesus Christ.
It's a personal thing between you and Him alone. For who knows what may be on
your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time.
For who knows what may be on the morrow? It says, for what
is your life? It is a vapor that appeareth for a little time and
vanisheth away. Can I tell you that it's possible
there may be some in this room that will not be here next year.
They will not be here the year after. They may not be here.
Listen, we don't have any assurance of tomorrow. And if you've never been born
again to the Spirit of God, you've never been saved, you need to
get saved today before it's too late.
