Turn in your Bibles this morning to the book of Genesis, first book of the Bible, Genesis chapter number 24. Try to share with you what the Lord laid on my heart. This passage of Scripture, Genesis 24, this passage of Scripture is where a bride is sought out for Isaac. Got Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the forefathers of the Jewish nation. Abraham with his covenants So Abraham is a symbol of the father Isaac is like a type of Christ in this story And then there's a servant that is brought up. His name is mentioned in Genesis 15. His name is Eliezer Eliezer's name means God or the God of help And in this story, he is given the picture here of us, of the Holy Spirit. So I'm gonna preach this this morning, hopefully it'll be a help, encouragement, the work of the Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit. As we mentioned, Eleazar is a servant of Abraham. And so to summarize some of this, Abraham wants Eleazar to leave where they are and go and find a bride for Isaac. And one of the traditions they did, they'd put their hand under the thigh. It's a weird thing. Wouldn't want to shake thighs or shake hands with anybody like that today. But it was a commitment of promise. And I promise you this, it'll get you attention if somebody did that. And so the interaction between Abraham and his servant, Eleazar, Even though His name is mentioned in Genesis, it's not mentioned, Brother Jeremy, here in this passage. And I think that is a perfect typology of the Holy Spirit. Because the Bible says the Holy Spirit will not speak of Himself. He's going to speak of the Father and of the Son. But He will not speak of Himself. And His name is not mentioned in this passage. He's just called the Servant. And so, to the just of it, he's asking him to go look for a bride for him. So, we're gonna pick up with verse number two, chapter 24. Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house that ruled over all that he had, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I dwell. Then verse three, excuse me, let's go verse five. Or verse four, I'm sorry, I'm skipping too much. Thou shalt go into my country to my kindred, take a wife unto my son Isaac. And the servant said unto him, Peradventure, the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land. Must thy needs bring thy son again into the land from whence thou camest? Abraham said unto him, beware that thou bring not my son thither again. He's bringing, the bride to the son here. And then we fast forward a little bit more. Verse number seven, the Lord God of heaven which took me from my father's house and from the land of my kindred and which spake unto me and that swearing to me saying unto thy seed will I give this land. He shall send his angel before thee and thou shall take a wife unto my son from then. So the idea is that God will be involved in this transaction. and that he will put it all together. The servant here in the scripture is worried that the woman will not be willing to go. I want you to think about that and understand that, that this bride had to be willing to go. So that to me throws all predestinarian things out the window. He is not willing that any should perish, but he is not going, she's not gonna be a Calvinistic draw and say, you have to be saved or you're already chosen. You have no will in the matter. She had to be willing to go. And in verse number 10, fast forward a little bit here. And the servant took 10 camels of the camels of his master and departed. For all the goods of his master were in his hand and he arose and went to Mesopotamia under the city of Nahor. So we see him leaving here, verse number 12. And he said, he's praying, he's talking about this whole action here. Oh Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day and show kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here by the well of the water and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water. Let it come to pass that the damsel to whom I shall say, let down thy picture, I pray thee, that I may dream, and she shall say, and I will give thee thy camel's drink also. We're gonna fast forward here because he's kind of laying out a fleece saying, when I stand by this well, and if a lady comes by here, I'm going to ask her to draw water for me. And if she does say that, and then she says, I'm also gonna bring water for your camels, he's feeling like he's getting closer and closer to the right one here. And so, to make this longer story a little shorter, that's exactly what happens. She offers to give water to the camels, which is hundreds of gallons of water, by the way. Allah, this is not an easy gesture here. This was a commitment of her to be kind and offer this water. And so, as we skip on just a little bit more, the Bible says, verse 19, when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also. That's verse 19. until they have done drinking. Then in verse number 22, it came to pass as the camels had done drinking that the man took a golden earring of a half a shekel weight, two bracelets for her hands of 10 shekels weight of gold. So she's being bestowed with gold and jewels. In verse number 30, let's skip down, trying to summarize this a little bit faster for you, and it came to pass when he saw the earring, this is her dad, her brother Laban, and her dad, Bethiel, will meet him, will meet Eleazar, the servant, whose, his mission is to bring a wife to his master's son, Isaac. That's the whole gist of the story. Verse 30, it came to pass when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, when he had heard the words of Rebecca, his sister, saying, thus spake the man unto me, that he came unto the man, and behold, he stood by the camels at the well. Verse 34, the servant speaks, and he said, he said, I am Abraham's servant, and the Lord hath blessed my master greatly, and he has become great. him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and men's servants, and maid's servants, and camels, and asses, and Sarah, my master's wife, bear a son to my master when she was old." Understand, he is a promised son, a miracle child. That's why he's a type of Jesus, because Jesus was born of a virgin, a promised son of a miracle, the virgin birth. Now, let's fast forward here to verse 56. Y'all gonna be able to say y'all almost read in fast forward mode the whole chapter 24. Almost. Verse 56. This is a servant speaking again. They've had dinner and all kind of dialogue going on here. And he said unto him, hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master. He's ready to take Rebecca the bride back to Isaac. Now, they said, we will call the damsel and inquire at her mouth. And they called Rebekah and said unto her, wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go. Now, this is a picture of the bride of Christ, which is the church, which is you, part of the church when you get saved. Isaac is the type of Christ, and as I said, Eliezer is the type of the Holy Spirit. His work to draw us, to demonstrate, to convict us, convince us, His work to introduce us to Jesus Christ. and bring us to him, which is the son of his master. And so I wanna look at that because I think it will open up some things about when we got saved, how we got saved and bring out a beautiful picture out of this scripture here. Now, I wanna read verse 10 again, if you'll back up just with me again. And the servant took 10 camels of the camels of his master and departed. Verse 10, for all the goods of his master were in his hand. Number one, the Holy Spirit does a work of seeking out the bride. Now when He does that, understand, He has the ability to show unto us and reveal to us when He seeks all the good of His Master's hands. Some do not believe in the Trinity, but the Bible teaches that these three are one, the Father, the Spirit, and the Word, and they all agree in one, and they're working together here, and the Spirit of God, as I said, I think it's important, Brother Jerry, Eliezer's name's not mentioned here, because the Holy Spirit did not come to say, hey, I'm the Holy Spirit. When you see other churches and other ministries, and all they talk about is the Spirit of God, and all they talk about themselves, and they don't talk about Christ, and they don't talk about the Father, they're not doing it biblically. The Holy Spirit would say, I want you to think about the Father. I want you to think about His riches. I want you to think about His Son. He's a promised Son. He's a miracle Son. He begins to lift Him up. And the Bible says, if He is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Him. The Bible says in John 16 verse 13, When the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak of Himself. And here the Holy Spirit type is pictured. His name's not important. His ministry, His work to get a bride to come to the Son is what He's doing here. And so this work that he's doing is of the master, all the goods that he has, and that's why it's important to stay in the story a little bit. And remember, he gave gold earrings, he gave golden bracelets, he come riding with a camel train. I mean, this has helped to get our attention, to draw our attention to who the Son of God is, or who Isaac is, or who Jesus Christ is. Now in verse number 57, skipping around here a little bit, go back there. They said, we will call the damsel and inquire at her mouth. So right before he's ready to leave, he said, I'm going to call my daughter, I'm going to call Rebecca, and we're going to ask her if she's willing to go. And the Bible says in verse 58, they called Rebecca and said unto her, wilt thou go with this man? You've got to understand, this is kind of an odd thing. This man shows up out of nowhere saying he's got connections with them. He's showing proof that there are riches on the other side here. He's got authority from his master Abraham. He's got authority to bring a bride to his master Isaac. And he is speaking to them. He's trying to convince Rebecca to leave her home, leave her family, and go with him on that journey to see the son. And he asked her one more time, will you go with this man? She said, I will go. And I see in that, noticing here to me, that you have to be willing to say nobody can drag you there to do it. You have to be willing to submit and accept the drawing of the Holy Spirit in your life. You have to be willing to go. Earlier in Sunday school, we had prayer requests. And Brother Bob Howell gave a prayer request, but a praise as well about his daughter, which is Jimmy's stepdaughter, right? I get it. mixed up sometimes. She had gotten saved recently, wanted to get baptized, now she's going to church and she's getting up everybody in the morning and says, this is the Lord's day and there's so much difference in her life. There's always a real difference when you are willing to go and call and trust and follow the leading of the Spirit of God, trusting in who Christ is. This whole story is amazing to me. She said, I'll go. I don't even know anything about it, never seen Him. There were no cell phones back then. Amen? There were no pictures. Some of y'all are saying, hallelujah, boy, it would have been a good day. She had no picture of Him, only the picture that could be painted by the servant. Boy, wasn't that a great truth? Holy Spirit painted a picture of who the servant, of who Christ is to my heart and my life. He showed me my condition, showed me who Jesus was, and He spoke about the goodness of God that led me to repentance, and all these things, and I had to be willing to go, willing to want to be saved. And that is what is brought out in this scripture. He sought out a bride for his master. He represents the master in person. I've never seen God, but his spirit, I have met through the Holy Spirit of Christ. I've met him. I've been convicted by him. I've been convinced by him. And now that I am saved by the grace of God, he lives inside of us as believers. If you are not a real believer, he does not live inside of you. So He sought her out. He sought this bride out. And the Holy Spirit in this picture here, He's going to tell about the goods and the grace that belongs to the Master's hands. Isn't that really what preaching is? And that's what the Holy Spirit does within the preaching of the Word of God. He begins to point you to God. He begins to point you to who Jesus is. And in the process of that, He'll make you think about who you are and your need of spiritual salvation in order to be saved and forgiven of your sins. He will use these goods, use the power of these promises to do all this conversation and convincing and convicting. And they asked her one more time, he said, are you willing to go? She goes, I will go. So she gets in the camel train and she heads back to go meet this bridegroom she has never met before. All only at the word of the servant. And that's basically what salvation really is. I went by the word of the servant of the Holy Spirit of God, believed that God is who the Bible says He is, believed who Jesus, the Bible portrays Jesus as, and the dealing of the Holy Spirit in my life, and that's when I made that willingness to go and become a believer and follow Christ as my Savior. Listen to this scripture. This is Ephesians 1, 13. In whom ye also trusted, After that you heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation in whom also after that ye Believed after you heard that word she heard a word about him and she believed it and followed it the Bible says in John 16 8 and when he has come speaking of the Holy Ghost now the Holy Spirit and He will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and judgment. He will reprove and convict and convince people of the truth of the Word of God, the truth of the Master's words, the words of the Scriptures. As she was convinced that there wasn't Abraham, there really wasn't Isaac, and that she was going to go meet him and be his bride, I was convinced that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He was resurrected on the third day, that He was the Savior, His blood paid for my sins, and I needed to believe that, and the Holy Spirit's the one that convinced me of that. And on May the 15th, 1989, I got born again into the family of God, because I followed and listened and heeded to the Holy Spirit's words, speaking of who God and Jesus was, and I called upon the Lord to be saved. The Bible says in John 6, 44, no man can come to me except the Father, which hath sent me draw him. There is a drawing power of the Holy Spirit to try to draw us to this truth, but you got to be willing to go. And when you see somebody really get saved, as Brother Bob mentioned in Sunday School, he's seen, he has seen a real change in his daughter-in-law. Now, obviously we grow in grace and knowledge and none of us are perfect as we go and there's a growth in our life and hopefully we'll get closer and stronger and there'll be times in our life where we'll make mistakes and we'll have to fix them and acknowledge them and confess them to the Lord and try to restore them with other people. But you should be a new creature in Christ Jesus when you get saved. And the Holy Spirit does that work of seeking us. Number two, he also does a work of sealing us. Now, this reference comes in Ephesians 1 again, and verse 13 and 14. I want to read this and I want you to listen. Ephesians 1, 13, in whom he also trusted, that after ye heard the word, I heard the word many times, but on May the 15th, 1989, I really heard the word. I mean, I really heard it. It really got a hold of me. I heard the word, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. There's a beautiful picture given here. And then it says in Ephesians 1.14, which is the earnest of our inheritance. So the Holy Spirit is an earnest, and that's an old word, some of you know it, some of you don't, but it means a down payment. The Holy Spirit is an earnest, a commitment, a down payment And listen, we're not in heaven yet, but the Holy Spirit is given as a comforter and an earnest, as a promise of our salvation. And church, we're on the little end of something really, really big. Listen, my Savior, I know Him, I've met Him, He lives within my heart in the person of the Holy Spirit, but I have never laid my physical glorified, one day glorified eyes on my Savior and be in His presence in heaven, but one day I will. And what a day that's going to be when I get to see my Savior. The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit does a work of sealing. Not only as in sealing a deal, amen, but sealing us within the deal. The Bible says in Genesis 24 verse 22, where you are in your passage, came to pass as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring and a half shekel weight and two bracelets for her hands. So you see he's bringing this earring and he's putting the bracelets on her wrist. And when she meets, when she goes to her brother, he already sees it. She's already been decked out with all these jewels. And this is a picture of the Holy Spirit showing us a little earnest, a little down payment, a little beginnings of what there is much more waiting for us in heaven. This is a gesture, a promise, a commitment on behalf of the master's household. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. But I would never know about his son if it wasn't the spirit of God, the servant of God, that would speak to me and draw me through the scriptures, through the preaching of the word of God, someone inviting me to church, someone trying to show me that. And when all that took place, it began this powerful work of sealing. And this sealing is a work, number one, of promise. It's a sealing of a promise. The Holy Spirit of promise has given that whole word together means the whole act of the Holy Spirit drawing us to Jesus is a commitment and a promise. I don't know about you, but I can't help think about that. I'm glad my salvation is secure in a promise that God made to me and not on my promise to him, because I'll fail it. I'll falter. I will fail, but he will not fail me. Some people believe you can lose your salvation, and a lot of times, to me, all that is is about showing how I can lose something that God said He would keep for me. It emphasizes the loser more than the one who holds the salvation. I don't think that's biblical, amen? When it comes to a promise, the Holy Spirit made this promise, and the Bible teaches that these three are one, and the Bible says God cannot lie. Can you imagine taking Rebecca all the way back to meet Isaac and say, oh, I'm sorry, Isaac already found a bride before you got here? We changing gears, changing plans, gonna send you back. I'm glad God didn't pull the rug out from under us like that. This was a commitment and a promise, and Isaac was waiting for this bride, and they were waiting for the Holy Spirit to do his work to draw this bride, and they were waiting on God to give speed and blessing and put it all together. The whole act of salvation and meeting our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, It's just a miracle that ever comes to pass and happens, but it's all of the work of God, and then we need to be willing to go, willing to follow Him. As the work of the Holy Spirit is a sealing of promise, the Bible says in Romans 8, 16, the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. So the Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that is made alive quicken when you get saved, because you're dead spiritually, by the way, before you get saved. Can I get a witness? Can anybody say, oh, me, my toe hurts or something? Amen. Okay, thank you. And the Holy Spirit, if you're saved and your spirit is quickened and made alive, and he lives within you, they're gonna know one another and they're gonna bear witness of one another, that there are spirit alive with inside of you. And so 1 John 3, 24 said, he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him and he in him and hereby we know that he abideth in us by the spirit which he hath given The spirit was a gift to us to live with inside of us, to comfort us along the journey back to meet the bridegroom one day. And that gold is a reminder as she's traveling in that camel train, I know that maybe you've never traveled on a camel before. Anybody ever ridden a camel? I know Jerry did. Sister Janet did. Jimmy did. I rode a camel. And I actually paid to ride the camel. That's really crazy. At a zoo, a camel is not a good ride. I promise you that. If Ford or Chevy ever comes out with the camel, you stay away from that one, okay? The camel ride is not a comfortable ride. The camel train would have been a little bit better, maybe have a little built-in area on top so you could travel a little bit more comfortable, but it would have been dry and dusty many at times. No doubt, the many miles in between that journey, of doubt, Brother Jeremy, there'd be times I don't know if this was the right move, I don't know if I made the right decision, and then you're reminded, you see those little goods of grace, those little reminders of the earnest of the Spirit of God, those gold bracelets, those kind of things reminded her there is much more awaiting on the other side. Just need to be faithful and keep my eyes on Isaac. Amen. Keep my eyes on who I'm getting ready to meet. Won't be too long. I'll get to see him. The sealing is a work of promise. The sealing is a work of payment through that down payment. And the scripture reminds us that we are sealed and we are given the earnest of his spirit in our hearts. I'm glad he seals us. I'm glad that sealing It might not be seen physically, but it is spiritual power that comes in our lives. And he seals that and reminds us through his spirit. abiding in us, living in us, that we are His promised possession, amen? Jesus is my Savior, and I've not seen Him, laid eyes on Him yet, but the Holy Spirit comforts me and encourages me on the journey, and reminds me I'm here not only to do these other things, but I'm here to protect you, amen? I'm here to seal you in. And the Bible says, in the beginning was the Word, right? And the Word was God. And the Bible goes on to say that all things were made by him was not anything made that was made. Well, there was a promise made and not even that promise was made without God being involved in it. the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So these three bear record in heaven, 1 John 5, 7, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. In John 10, 28, Jesus said, I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my hand. I and my Father are one." You know what's interesting to me? Is that Eleazar, the servant here in this scripture, who's a picture of the Holy Ghost, you know how he addresses Abraham and Isaac? He calls them both Master. They're all three in one. They have this equality about them in their place of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Eliezer was just a servant, not speaking of himself, but lifting up and pointing Rebekah to Isaac, and Isaac through the Father. What a thought, that trip back. To Isaac, to the groom, the bride, Rebekah, was in the care of Eleazar all the way. If something happened to Rebekah on that journey, the servant was responsible. So the scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit seals us unto the day of redemption. And he's responsible to carry me home to see the bridegroom one day to see Jesus. I am saved of the death. Hallelujah. I am safe in the hands of the Lord and I'm secure. Nothing is going to happen to Rebecca on that journey back to see Isaac. That was the most important thing that that servant had going on is to get Rebecca to be willing to go and get her to Isaac so that they could be married and joined together. What a thought that he would do such a work in us, but he does that work. Now, I want to say this. I thought this might be the thrust of my message, but it began to get bigger than that. But I want to add this. There's a lot of satanic interests going on in our world today. People like the paranormal. They like to turn on television shows and watch chairs move across the room. Don't act like y'all have not ever seen that before. Okay. People are involved in the occult. They're interested in the demonic activity of things. And this is not anything new. The Bible even says this in Luke 11. An unclean spirit is what a demon or a devil was called. Not the devil, but devils in the scripture. He said, the unclean spirit that was in a man can go out of a man and he walketh through dry places seeking rest and finding none. So he leaves this person he possessed and he's looking for some other place to go. He doesn't find one, so he goes back and he finds that this man, this person, had swept the house. This is a picture now of self-reform or religion. Trying to straighten yourself out on your own. not having a spiritual work of Christ working in your life. So when this, we'll call it a demon, this unclean spirit comes back to this man, he finds it swept and garnished, which means he cleaned it up, and garnished means it was decorated and it had furniture in it. So he's like, the demon's gone, no more darkness there, so I'm just gonna clean things up on my own and kind of get things. And then the Bible says when the demon comes back, he brings seven more spirits with him. And that person has seven more wicked spirits than himself. And they dwell there. And the last state of that man was worse than the first. Because he tried to clean himself up. And then the devil come in and did even more damage. I've seen the truth to that. A lot of people trying to clean their own lives up when they need to be born again and they need the Spirit of God involved in their life. The Spirit of God is on trying to preach this work. One of His works of sealing us is to protect us. Now some people do drugs and they say drugs are a gateway to demonic activity. I've seen proof of that. I've been involved in it. I haven't physically done it, but I've been at somebody's house before that was on drugs, that had almost destroyed the house, punching holes and tearing stuff off the wall. And when I got there to pray with them about two or three in the morning, I felt such an evil and a darkness there. It was very real. I've heard other stories about such as that as well. There's a story in the book of Acts, my favorite book in the Bible, There was this man named Sceva, S-C-E-V-A, he had some sons. They decided they wanted to do an exorcist, and I know most of y'all probably know what that word is. There's a lot of movie knowledge and book knowledge outside of the scripture, but that's one of the few times I know of in all the word of God that the exorcist is even mentioned in the scriptures. They were gonna try to exorcise, which means take that demon out of that man. And the scripture says, they called over this man that had an evil spirit. This is Acts 19 verse 13. They took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus saying, we adjure you, which means I'm commanding you, by Jesus whom Paul preaches. So they're throwing out these big names, throwing out Jesus' name and Paul. And the scripture says, The evil spirit answered. Now that would scare me. And that's what all the spookiness of the movies are if y'all have ever seen one of them. It's when supposedly the spirit within speaks through and you know it's not a voice that you recognize, you know it's not a power that you recognize this is something paranormal or supernatural. And so these men are not Christians, but they're playing around with spiritual things. Both spirit of God and the spirit of the devil. Amen? And he goes to this man and he said, we adjure you, we command you that you come out. And here's what the evil spirit said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you? Who are ye? Now that'll be in my queue. If I was with my redneck brothers, trying to exorcise demons, as soon as I heard him speak, I know Jesus and I know Paul, but we don't know you boys. I'd be taking on out a window. I'd look for a basement. or at it or some way to get out of there. Well, they couldn't get out there in time. And the Bible says the evil spirit that was in the man leaped on them and overcame them and prevailed against them and they fled out of the house naked and wounded. He ripped their clothes off and beat them up. They were messing with that spiritual world that they did not understand and they were not protected. Now the scripture does not say the demon went in within them, but the Bible teaches us that one time Jesus cast out demons and they went into a herd of swine. Many of you know these stories. And that herd of swine ran off a cliff and killed themselves being possessed with this demon. You mess around with drugs, Ouija boards, You mess around with seances and you start pilling around with this spiritual world that you do not have any idea how dangerous it is. You could get possessed with the devil if you are not saved. The reason I say that is because the Bible teaches us that the master of the house, he'll answer the door when someone comes to steal and kill. If you're saved by the grace of God, the Holy Spirit of promise has sealed you under the day of redemption. He lives in you as a believer. If some evil spirit comes knocking, the Holy Ghost is going to answer Brian's door because he lives inside of me and I am protected and sealed. No born again child of God can be possessed by a devil when they are already possessed by the Holy Ghost. No way. You are sealed unto the day of redemption when you meet your bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. That day of redemption when everything is redeemed and freed and revealed before the throne of God. I tell you this, if you're not saved, you sure better not be messing around with those things. They're very dangerous. you might end up being one of those casualties. When I read scriptures like that, where those demons jumped on those men and beat them up and ripped their clothes off, it just reminds me that that stuff is real. Many people don't want to believe it's real. Understand, many people that don't want to believe the devil is real hardly believe God is real. Don't get all your advice, your spiritual advice from other books until you have looked to this book first, the Word of God. It is the Spirit's job and the Scripture's job to lead us and guide us into all truth, to draw us to the Lord Jesus Christ. That unclean spirit would find the Holy Spirit living inside of you and I. I'm so glad I'm protected, I'm sealed by the Holy Spirit, I promise. I have down payments of what's going on in heaven, what he's done in my soul to realize that I'm gonna have eternal life, I'm gonna have a glorified body one day, I'm gonna get to see heaven one day, and those little gold braces, amen, that little, the Holy Spirit living inside of me is an earnest, a down payment on that which is eternal one day that you and I will be able to receive when Redemption Day is completely unlocked. And the last of all, in Genesis 24, where you were, verse 63, Isaac went out to meditate in the field. So Isaac is Abraham's son. I'm sure that as he's anticipating, when is my bride coming? He's out meditating in the field, just looking around and waiting around, kind of waiting, anticipating. The Bible says, he lifted up his eyes and he saw and behold, the camels were coming. Now who's riding the camel here in this story? And we know Eleazar is, but that's not really Isaac's focus, he's focused on the bride, amen? Jesus is focused on the bride. He came to seek and say that which was lost. He died and gave his life for you as a ransom for many. He gave his life for ours, for mine and yours. Isaac is looking and he sees the camels coming. Now look at verse 64. Rebecca lifted up her eyes and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. She jumped flat off the camel. She's pretty excited, isn't she? I wish some of you church folks would jump off your camel, amen? Get excited a little bit about seeing Jesus, amen? She jumps off the camel, lights off the camel, and then she says unto the servant, she's talking to Eleazar here, what man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant said, it is my master. Now this wasn't Abraham, this was Isaac. Some of y'all know this scripture, Jesus said, if you've seen me, you've seen the Father. Boy, I'm glad I could know the Father through the Son, but I never would have known either one of them if the Spirit of God hadn't drawn me, hadn't brought me to this conviction, hadn't convinced me that all these things are real, what the Bible says, the preaching said about who Jesus was. And all this way, the Spirit of God, He draws me. I said, I'm willing, I'll go, I want it, I need it, I believe it, please forgive me. And He moves inside of my heart, seals me with the Holy Spirit of promise. and goes with me as a comforter all the journey until I'm brought to heaven to meet my masters, amen. The Bible says, she took the veil and covered herself, verse 66, and the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. Isaac brought her into his mother's tent, took Rebekah, she became his wife, and he loved her. Isaac was comforted after his mother's death. What a beautiful picture. Boy, when I meet the Lord, all the death I've ever endured in my life, I will be comforted because I'm now in the presence and the care of my bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. One message, one song said it like this, sweet heaven will fix it all, and it will fix it all. I'm gonna meet my bridegroom, I'm gonna get to see Jesus one day, amen? I'll be in his presence. The Bible says, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you. John 16, 13, He will guide you into all truth, for He shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He will show you. The Holy Spirit does a work of showing. He shows you all these things that are awaiting you if you will trust in Christ. He shows Christ to us and us to Christ in our life. He guides us and directs us. He convinces us of judgment and the world to come. He does all this wooing and drawing. He gives us little convictions and little down payments along the way, even after we're converted and after we're saved, reminding us and pushing us and encouraging us and comforting us not to give up, not to turn back. It will be worth it all when we see our our bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. Sister Virginia, I'd like for you to come, please. That whole trip, Rebecca was in the care of Eliezer, the servant. She was under his protecting hand, his serving hand and his sealing hand. And there come a day where he turned her over to the care of Isaac, the son. another comforter, amen. The Bible says in Ephesians 4.30, grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed into the day of redemption. You think about the work of the Holy Spirit, what he did to bring you to salvation. He could have left you to die and go to hell. He could have left you in your condition, but God, through the Spirit of God, gave a scripture, gave an invitation. Some of you got saved because somebody invited you, but that person invited you because somebody showed somebody and showed it to them. The Holy Spirit is doing a work of showing us who we are and who Christ is and what we can be in the Lord Jesus Christ. We should not grieve Him, quench Him. We should honor Him in our life, be sensitive to Him, be thankful for that work. What a beautiful picture of salvation in this story. And she said, I will go. You've told me enough to believe it is all that you said it is and more. And she followed. And when she saw Him, she jumps off the camel so excited. And Isaac goes to meet her and takes her as his bride. And Isaac was comforted, and the bridegroom was comforted, the groom was comforted, because God was glorified. The Bible says in John 14, 17, Even the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive. This world doesn't understand. I know that it took a while to get to where I was going, but the world doesn't understand any of this. They don't understand who the Holy Spirit is. They don't understand that Jesus Christ is the only hope they have in this world. And if they will refuse the Holy Spirit and reject Him, they will die in their sins and go to hell. They do not see it. They do not understand it. But when you get saved, you understand it. You know Him. You know Him in the power of His resurrection. You should be in love with Him. And I'm saying some of these things this morning to you to help you understand. It may be that some of you are not saved. If you don't have that Spirit inside of you, drawing you to the Son of God, and that He's the most important thing in your life, somebody's missing in your life. That work of the Holy Spirit is not active. I encourage you today, if the Holy Spirit knocks on your door, let me give you a little picture of this. Won't you come a little further? Let me show you how to be saved. Won't you trust on these scriptures? Won't you say with your heart, believe in your heart and say, I'm willing to go. I'm willing to trust that Jesus is who the Bible says that he is. The Bible says, when you know him, he dwelleth in you and shall be with you. And I think that's important because the Bible said, without the spirit of God dwelling in you, you are none of his. If he doesn't live inside of you, you are not a child of God. But understand, it is God's will that not any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God sent His Son, and when Jesus came, He died, He ascended back to the throne of God. He did not leave us comfortless. He sent the Holy Ghost down here to do His work. Part of His work is to draw us to Christ, and then along the journey after we know Him, He comforts us, guides us, and directs us till He takes us home. I hope you know the Holy Spirit in that word. Has every head bowed, every eye closed this morning? I cannot do the work of conviction. I cannot make you feel empty inside. I cannot make you feel like that you do not have this witness within yourself as the spirit bears witness that we are a child of God. But if you feel convicted and empty, if you don't feel that comfort, you feel like he's missing in your life, Would you step out by faith and say, I'm willing to go. I need this. I need Jesus in my savior. I need to be forgiven of my sins. I need him in my life. I want to be sealed and protected. I want to have heaven as my home and my hope. When I die, would you step out by faith to believe that if God's dealing with your heart, you could get saved today. The Holy spirit, It's not here to condemn you, but he shows the scripture says, if you believe not, you're condemned already because you have not believed. Boy, the Holy Spirit will be your friend. He'll be a helper. He'll lead you to that truth. And he'll walk with you in that truth all the days of your life. I say this as a believer. I did not know who all the Holy Spirit was when I got saved, but I sure am glad He's with me. I'm glad He's my friend and guide. I'm glad He showed me Christ and introduced me to Him. I'm glad He reminds me of these things about Him day to day in my life. Father, I pray You'll take these thoughts, this scripture, this understanding, Lord, if there's somebody here not saved, Lord, I can't save them. I can't convict them. I can't change their mind. I can't convince them. Nobody did that to me. You did it. You drew me. You brought me to you. And I pray, God, you'll convict them, show them, work in their hearts and their lives. Lord, we all got family. that are turning to drugs and turning to other things in life so far away from God if they've ever been saved. Lord, we know it's only the hope of the Spirit of God that draw them, and they have to be willing to forsake their sins and turn to you as Savior. I pray you'll open up the hearts of many of our loved ones, Lord, we have. Many have been praying for for a long time. Oh, we pray the Holy Spirit will convict them. Lord, show them who Jesus really is. that you'd save them, God, and change their life. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
