In Brook Hills Baptist Church in Hamilton, OH. Greg Wynn is the pastor there and we've been members there since January, so we've enjoyed it immensely and have been growing there and appreciate the church there. My wife and two kids are in route to Florida for a month to take care of Granny. She fell a couple weeks ago, Sister Pyle, So, Rachel's going down to, she was planning on going anyway, go down there and help out for a month. And after everybody left from the funeral, and it got real quiet after Brother Pyle's funeral, and everybody left, then it started to kind of hit home, I think, the loneliness and things. So, just pray for Sister Pyle. If you would, turn to Daniel chapter three, And I appreciate the invitation to speak and the hospitality and generosity of the church here. I also appreciate the two messages that we've heard so far today. And it was here, right over there, right behind where you're sitting, brother Doug. And I love the message about the word of God, about if you look at the armor of God, all of it is of a defensive nature, except we have one offensive weapon in the whole repertoire. What is that? It's the word of God. That's our one item of offensive weaponry is the word of God. So, here in Daniel chapter three, this is gonna be a very familiar passage of scripture. We all know Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace and they refused to bow down to the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up So he had the furnace heated and threw them in there seven times hotter than it usually ever was heated up before. And we all focus on what didn't burn up in that fire. We talk about how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and Nebuchadnezzar looked down in there and he saw not just the three guys that were thrown down in there, he saw four of them. And the fourth one was like that of the Son of God, right? So they were, you know, walking with the Lord in the midst of this fiery furnace and we dwell on that topic. And that is a good topic to dwell on. But I want to look at things a little bit differently this morning and look at the things that did not burn up in the fire. Or things that did burn up in the fire, I'm sorry. Daniel chapter 3 and I'm not we could read verses 1 through 30 as we think about things that did not or did burn up in the fire I already spoke about what didn't but let's go to verse 21 here And since we're I think everybody here is pretty familiar with the background of this We see it. Let's start verse 20 here actually first 19 when Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury and There seems to be a lot of that in this day and age, and it's a lot of times aimed towards Christians, of course, especially with the leaked opinion of the Supreme Court in regards to the overturning of Roe versus Wade, and there's a lot of misconceptions about the legality or what it actually means. Essentially, it just returns that decision on abortion to the states. doesn't necessarily outlaw abortion, but it turns it back to the states. So, all the blue states will probably still have it. All or most of, at least, the red states will probably get rid of it or at least restrict it immensely, which is, you know, I'm all for the elimination of it. But there's a lot of mis- So, they always talk, when they talk negatively about the pro-life movement, it's always towards Christians. There are a lot of Christians who probably are pro-life for a variety of reasons, but it is honestly a very Christian topic, and it should be. And it's one that we should not give up any ground on, and I'm, hopefully, you know, there wasn't a lot of intimidation, but I think it leaked to intimidate judges into changing their decision to keep Roe versus Wade as a federal thing. So hopefully that doesn't take place, but I'm glad God's sovereign. in control of all of it, but there's a lot of fury. So Nebuchadnezzar, not much has changed in regards to fury towards God's children, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Therefore he spake and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men, so he didn't get little weakling puny men, He got the most mighty men. That's how much he was furious and hated Christians and wanted to make sure he had full control of this situation. But how much control did he actually have? Absolutely none. You can have the biggest, baddest bodyguards you want, but God's in control. He's the one that's sovereign. So you can have all these mighty men that were in his army to bind up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to cast them into the burning, fiery furnace Then these men were bound in their coats, in their hosen, their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning, fiery furnace. So again, we could talk about what didn't burn up in the furnace, which would have, of course, been their clothing. It didn't even smell like smoke when they exited that furnace. They were never supposed to exit that furnace. They were supposed to just get burned up in there. But when they exited, not one item was singed, not one. Have you ever been around cigarette smokers? Sure, you go, you're around them for not very long, that smoke just kind of clings to your clothing. If you've ever had bonfires or campfires, you're gonna smell like smoke. You don't have to be right in the fire to get that smell on your clothing. I don't have the problem with it getting in my hair. Sometimes folks' hair even smells like smoke. And their hair wasn't singed, not one thing. So that's another thing that didn't burn up in the fire. Let's jump to verse 25. And he answered and said, lo, I see four men loose walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt in the form of the fourth as like the Son of God. So the thing, one of the things that, and we're gonna look at three of them, did in fact burn up in the fire were the binding ropes. As we see now, after they had been tossed into this fiery furnace, the binding ropes are gone. They were bound hand and foot, but now they are walking there in the midst of this fiery furnace with God walking by their side. And you know what? We're bound. When we're born into this world, a body of flesh that we inhabit, we are born with a what? Sinful nature. We are born with a sinful nature, but there's hope. We had a fellowship meeting last Friday night at our church, an area-wide fellowship, and it was my current pastor's former pastor, and he preached about God's judgment. And again, that's not necessarily a topic that gets touched upon, a whole lot outside of the Lord's true churches. You don't hear a lot of televangelists or folks on the radio mention God's judgment because they believe you catch more flies with honey. And they want you to give and to attend and so on and so forth. You preach against sin, you're gonna scare people off, right? You preach about God's judgment, it'll offend folks and they won't wanna come back. If you don't know you're sinful, you don't know your need of a Savior. It's very simple. I worked with a lady in Virginia when I lived there for a few months, and she says, I don't like to go to church because I don't want to hear about how bad of a sinner I am. Well, it's pretty critical that we know we have a need of a Savior. And even though we are born bound in sin, we are set free in the Lord Jesus Christ, just as the Lord Jesus Christ set them free when they were bound into this fiery furnace. Galatians chapter 5, and I'm going to reference a lot of scriptures, so you can turn to them if you want, but I'm going to try to hit them relatively quickly. In Galatians 5, in verse 1, it says, Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free. Free from what? That bondage that we were bound with of sin, and be not entangled again, so sometimes I was having a discussion, I work at a Christian school in Fairfield, Ohio, and I was speaking to the principal's secretary yesterday, and she was telling me about a strange relationship that she has with one of her children because, essentially it's because she's a Christian and he is not. And that's just kind of a long story short. And he has a lot of false ideas and notions and things of that nature. in regards to Christianity, but she asked me, asked me, after we're saved, do we still sin? I'm like, well, yeah, I mean, the Apostle Paul addressed that repeatedly, you know, shall we continue in sin, you know, God forbid, meaning, you know, yes, we're gonna be tempted to continue to sin, but we're to, you know, and then he goes on, and another part says he brings his body under subjection, right? The things that he, finds himself that he should be doing, he finds himself not doing, but then the things that he knows that he shouldn't be doing, that he finds himself doing. And we're talking about the Apostle Paul here. So yeah, there's this constant warring of the flesh that we're dealing with day in and day out. But we're set free from that. That's not held to our account anymore. We've been justified. The Lord has taken care of that, taken our punishment for that. Shall we continue in it? No, that doesn't give us free reign. to continue in sin. You Baptists, you believe, you know, once you're saved, you're always saved and you can live any old way you want. God forbid, actually. That's the point. So, what's the difference? There's forgiven and those that are not forgiven. In Proverbs chapter 5, verse 22, it says, his own iniquities shall take the wicked himself and he shall be hidden with the cords of his sins. So, we see a reference to the Binding that sin causes in John chapter 8 verse 34 Jesus answered them truly truly I say unto you everyone who commits sin is a Slave to sin so there again a reference to this bondage that we are in in regards to sin And in verse 36 of John 8 so if the Sun and I notice Sun is what? capitalized What's that a reference to? It's a name And it's one of the names of the Lord Jesus Christ. So it's referencing the Lord here. It's not referencing the individual. It's not meaning, oh, you know, you through your good works, you're the one that brings about salvation. It's the Lord Jesus Christ who brings about salvation. He's the only one that can set you free. We see the son sets you free and not you yourself or a priest or a preacher or a Pope or a pastor or anybody else. It's the Son of God who sets you free, and we see that when we are set free, we are free indeed. And in Romans chapter eight, in verse two, for the law of the Spirit of life has set you free, in who? I always like to stop in the middle of a verse and ask a question, because I want us to think. I want us to look at what it actually says, and not just come up with our own thing, in Christ Jesus. So where do all these other false doctrines and doctrines of devils, I like to reference it because that's what scripture references, but where do all these come from? So many folks have the wrong idea of Christianity, they have the wrong idea of salvation and how it is accomplished and the security of the believer and just so many things. I was talking to someone once that was visiting the church down in Florida, and I guess I should kind of reintroduce myself. I was down there 17 years, and most people don't really remember me all that much. Rachel and I were, got married May 1st, 2004. May 26th, 2004, we hit Florida, Fort Myers, and were there, and ironically enough, Rachel had to finish out a few things. Me and the boys left May 26th of last year, Florida. So right on the dot, the same date, 17 years later, we ended up uprooting out of Florida. And while I miss brother and sister Pyle, I don't really miss Florida. I spent 17 years sweating profusely down there in the heat and humidity. But it's good to be back up here Yeah, I guess close to my parents. Not too close. Not too close. I tell you what, I'll take two hours over 20 any day of the week. So we just felt the Lord was calling us back up north. I know that Philip was told to rise and go to the south. I was told to rise and go to the north and the Lord opened door after door after door. So obviously, you know, the Lord always seems to hit you over the head with what he wants you to do. It was abundantly clear when we moved to Florida, and it was abundantly clear when we left. So, you know, there's never a doubt when the Lord's calling you to do something. And I see his blessing. Let's continue on here. Let's go to Proverbs chapter five. Verse 22, his own iniquity shall take the wicked himself and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. So, you know, through this picture that we see or this example that we see of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being thrown in this fire, you know, God puts us through a fire. Sometimes we're put in a fire to even Get some of the rough edges smoothed off. Gold, when it is refined, you heat it up and smooth off some of those rough edges. When we're bound in sin, that fire came and loosened those cords and that Holy Spirit comes and then dwells in us and lights a fire in us and draws us. We're not looking for the Lord. We're ice cold dead. Dead bodies are what? Cold. When you're made alive, when a live body has heat, when the Holy Spirit comes, we have that fire that loosens those bonds of sin and sets us free through the Lord Jesus Christ. And as we are walking in our new relationship with the Lord, year after year, day after day, month after month, as the Lord allows us to walk this earth, he's constantly trying us and by fire, refining us knocking off the impurity, we should be anyway, growing in the Lord. You can start off with the milk, but you should eventually make your way up to that meat. You should heat up and get hotter and hotter and hotter. If you had a child or a baby and a year goes by and it's still the size of a newborn, you know, seven, eight pounds, that'd get you a little worried, wouldn't it? Another year goes by and it's just not growing, nothing's changing, it's still On milk, it's not progressing, getting taller, getting bigger, eating solid food. Nothing, no progress physically whatsoever. What would you do? You would run and go see a doctor. What's going on with my child? Yet, from a spiritual standpoint, so many folks are still on milk. They're still on baby food. There's no spiritual growth whatsoever, and there's no sense of emergency. We're so quick. to run to the doctor for a physical. We don't run to our pastor or to the Word of God for spiritual growth or lack thereof. In Psalm 66 in verse 10, for thou, O God, hast proved us, thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. In Amalekiah chapter three in verse three, And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. So we, you know, just again, I like to reinforce what I say with scripture. And if someone says something that's opposite of scripture, kick them out. Let's go back to Daniel chapter three. Let's look at our second item here that was burned up in the fire. Let's read verse 22. Therefore, because the king's commandment was urgent and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men which took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So we see the men that put Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they were burnt up in the fire. And as I mentioned just a moment ago, God is gonna judge the wicked. and the unrepentant. Now, there is a lake of fire that has been prepared for those that reject God. I, again, when I was living in Virginia for a while, we got out the phone book, remember those things? I just turned 41, I'm starting to feel it. Kids go, hey, what was it like when you were a kid? I took, turned the internet off, Took the phones and tablets and computers away, and all right, have at it. I mean, they just, they don't, we had it rough, I'll tell you. My internet head went, now it's just constantly connected. And then we got call waiting, and every time someone called mom, it booted me off the internet. We had it rough. I like to call those things first world problems. They don't have a lot of those problems in so many other places. But now, internet's just always there. That's not my message. I don't even remember where I was going with my story now. Oh, yeah, thank you. With the pastor there, we got the phone book out, turned it in King James, and I'm like, oh, bold. I had the phone book there, and I turned to Baptist churches, like, oh, that sounds pretty good. And so we went and visited there, and if it wasn't the very end of the service, I'd have got nothing left. But I knew it was almost over, and I knew that it, I didn't want to embarrass Rachel either, because she's kind of timid and meek. And I knew it was like literally three minutes left or four, And so we just, but he started talking about election. He just, nope, he did not like that at all. And so, of course, we filled out a visitor card and he ended up calling me a few days later. Can I come over and talk to you? Sure, why not? Come on over. And he comes over and we started talking about election and he, of course, was trying to defend his position and he goes, I just, I don't believe God hates anybody. Okay? What about Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated? Well, he's a little bit stumped. I'll look that up and I'll get back with you in a couple of days. You do that. So sure enough, two days later, he calls my phone and he said, I looked up that word hate and it means intense dislike. Thank you for defining hate? I mean, really? God doesn't send anybody to hell. What about the rich man who lifted his eyes up in hell? Why is there a hell? For judgment of those that reject God. There is going to be a judgment. In 2 Thessalonians 1, verses 8 and 9, inflaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 9, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord from the glory of his power so God's gonna judge and we see it described here in flaming fire and this is a fire that it's just going to be a constant they're not going to be consumed it's going to be constant judgment misery wailing gnashing of teeth as it's described some folks like to make light of the flames of hell and say, well, at least I'll be there with my buddies. Trust me, you're not gonna be thrilled to be there, and neither are they. And then, oh, I'll play poker with my friends, or we'll give the devil a run for his money, and you're gonna be in absolute misery. Just, well, you look at the rich man that lifted his eyes up in hell, and he was begging, you know, spirits to go, and angels to go, or someone to go, and to visit his family so they would not end up there. It's horrible. He didn't want anybody, even his worst enemy, he didn't want in there. Who are the inhabitants of hell? In Acts 17 and verse 30, in the times of this ignorance, God went that. So there's, you know, even the enemies of God and those that don't know the Lord, those that reject Christ, they are benefiting from his goodness right now. The fact that we're able, everybody's able to breathe his air, live in this beautiful creation that he has created, you know, God's winking at their ignorance right now. But not for long. But now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. So the inhabitants of hell are unrepentant men and women. In Luke chapter 13, the Lord's gonna say here, two quick sessions, back to back here. In Luke 13, verses three and five, I tell you nay, but except you repent, ye shall likewise perish. And you jump to verse five, I tell you nay, but except you repent, ye shall likewise perish. Talk about a warning, it must be important, it was repeated. It's repeated over and over in Scripture. In Revelation 16 verse 9, they repented not to give him glory. So it is filled with folks who are unrepentant to Almighty God. If one unatoned sinner reached heaven, it wouldn't be heaven. It'd be corrupted. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. It wouldn't be heaven. and would not make God, God. Because his word is very clear. There is a giant gap between separating heaven and hell and no one can cross it. Repent or perish. Some folks say turn or burn. That's what hell is. It's not a pleasant topic. You go to a Christian bookstore, and there's not a section just dedicated to hell. Those kind of books don't sell. But it's truth, and it needs to be taught. In Malachi chapter 4, in verse 1, For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven and all the proud. What month is it this month, according to the world, anyway? Pride month. Good name for it. Pride will come of the four of Paul. Don't get me, I'm gonna get myself started here. All the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall be Stubble. Just burn up. Stubble. And the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. And ye shall tread down the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet. And the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. In Matthew chapter 13, In verse 30, let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them, but to gather the wheat into my barn. So there's wheat, and there's tares. There's sheep, and there's goats. Psalm 37, 20, but the wicked shall perish. The enemies of the Lord shall be as fat, the fat of lambs they shall consume, and to smoke shall they consume away. And in Psalm 97, verse three, a fire goeth before him and burneth up his enemies round about. The Bible just cannot be any more clear. People don't get disturbed when they're told that the devil and his demons or fallen angels or whatever you want to call them are going to burn in hell. Nor are they concerned upon learning that, you know, the false prophet and the antichrist may be going to burn in hell. They're not moved when they're told, like it says in Revelation 21 verse 8, the abominable, the murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the late which burneth with fire and brimstone, because you'll say, well, I have never murdered someone, or I have never stolen anything. Well, one thing that jumps out when I, a couple of things actually, I may not have ever murdered anyone, I may not be a sorcerer, but you know, when you get to idolater and liar, kind of hard to squirm your way out of those two. I think we all, on occasion, are guilty of idolatry. We put ourselves before the Lord. When we make ourselves an idol, our own comforts, or our jobs, or our families, or our material possessions, sometimes I think we might make creatures idols. I think we're all, honestly, if we look at ourselves, we're guilty of that on occasion. But then we get to lying. I know we're all guilty of that at some point in our life. There's just no way around that, even as a child or even as an adult. Some people just lie without blinking an eye. Just second nature, right? So many folks don't believe the Bible. They don't want to hear it, but it's filled with warning. In Ephesians 5, verse 8, for ye were sometimes darkness, but now, I love this, talk about darkness. It doesn't get any darker than getting burned up, right? Judgment of God, separated from God for all of eternity, that's horrible. Well, that was, a situation for everybody unless the Lord intervenes and salvation takes place. Sometimes darkness, but now are ye light and the Lord walk as children of the light. So let's not walk as those that are gonna be burned up. If you're saved, you need to be different. If you're not producing fruit, I question whether or not you're a sheep or a goat. and there's a huge difference. Are you wheat or are you a tarry? In Romans chapter eight and verse seven, because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not the subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So lost man is not merely an enmity against God, but is enmity against God. And Jeremiah says in chapter 17 and verse nine, I love this, A verse, and everybody I'm sure is familiar with it, the heart is deceitful above all things. I hate it when someone says, just follow your heart. Really? You're gonna rely on your heart? What's scripture say about the heart? It's deceitful above all things, and not just wicked, but it's desperately wicked. But what the unsaved person does not realize is that disbelief in the Bible is a sin, and it's a big one. You don't believe in the Bible, you don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, because in John 1, verse 1, what's it say? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. If you don't believe in the Bible, you don't believe in the Lord. In Revelation 21, verse 8, the unbelieving shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. So unrepentant, unbelieving souls are gonna be occupying hell. In Revelation 20, starting in verse 11, and I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them. And they were judged, every man, according to their works. And death and hell were cast where? Into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. That book was written before the foundation of the world. I think when that last name is checked off that list and that soul was saved, I think the Lord's gonna come back. He's just waiting for that predestined. A certain time, a certain place. I've often thought about, you know, the tree. He got there somehow, it was planted, it grew to the perfect height for him to be able to climb up it and be seen and for it to hold him or whatever. There's just so many different angles and things to think about. God ordained all that to happen the way that it did. In Luke 16 and verse 28, it says, I am tormented in this flame. And he wanted his brothers to repent, lest they also come to this place of torment. I referenced that just a little bit ago. Isaiah, in Isaiah 33, 14, he wrote of everlasting burnings. James, in James 3, verse 6, mentioned the fire of hell. In Matthew 25, verse 41, it says, depart from me ye cursed into what? Everlasting fire. Proverbs 15, 11, hell and destruction are before the Lord. How much more than the hearts of the children of men? In chapter 27 of Proverbs, verse 20, hell and destruction are never full. So the eyes of man are never satisfied. So it's our responsibility to mourn. And every time we read here in Daniel chapter three of those big, bad, burly guards, being consumed by this fire, they were not even the ones intended to be burned up in the fire. It was Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. But God had other plans. When we consider those men being burned up in that fire, we need to remember that God's judgment on the wicked. In Joel chapter two, verses one through three, it says, sound an alarm in my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand, a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. A fire devoureth before them, behind them a flame burneth. God's judgment. Quickly here in Daniel chapter three, the third thing that was burned up was a false image of God. Daniel 3, let's look at verse 15. Now, if you be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sacrament, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all the kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made. Well, but if ye worship not, ye should be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning, fiery furnace. And who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Talk about a bold statement there, huh? God can't touch me. He can't stop what I'm gonna do to you. Notice, before we jump to verse 28, notice God didn't remove the fire. He just walked with them through it. So God didn't just remove the fire, but he was with them through it. He let Nebuchadnezzar go so far has to throw them into this furnace that was heated seven times hotter than it usually was ever heated. God allowed that to take place, but he didn't allow it. Just as when the devil tempted Job, God said, you can go so far, but you can't kill him. There was a limit, because God is sovereign. No one can do anything other than what he allows them to do. So Nebuchadnezzar thought, I'll show you. I'll show you how powerful I am. God's not gonna be able to stop this, did he? Yep. Burned his guards up, sure didn't touch Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Let's jump to verse 28. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God. Talk about a difference here, right? So back to Brother Doug again. Talk about a 180. Who's the God that's gonna save you from me? Now, he's saying, blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants that trusted in him and have changed the king's word and yielded their bodies that they might not serve nor worship any God except their own God. He had just built that idol for everyone to bow down to. He's done a complete 180 here. Verse 29, therefore I make a decree that every people, nation, and language which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dumb hill, because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon. So Nebuchadnezzar through dealing with Daniel already had some, exposure with God, but he still did not believe that he could rescue three Hebrews out of this furnace. He did not have a good image of God and who he was and is. But by the end of this whole ordeal, he saw the true image of God, the sovereignty of God. And he even saw the image of God walking in the midst of the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, in Abednego, this goes to show, we're gonna close with this thought, this goes to show that only God can open our eyes to the truth. He was so blinded with his own power and just thought he was the most powerful person in the whole world. There was someone who was more powerful than him, who created him, who created the furnace, who created the fire, who created the guards. He created all of those things. Everything we see is his creation, and he can do with it as he pleases. Ephesians 1, verse 18, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of his glory riches of the glory of his inheritance in the Saints, so only the Holy Spirit can open our eyes. I love, in reference to the Apostle Paul, you know, he thought he was doing the right thing when he was called Tarsus. He wasn't an idiot. He had sat at the feet of Gamaliel. He knew Old Testament prophets and Scripture, right? He understood all of that stuff. And he thought by persecuting the church, he was doing the right thing. Lo and behold, on a road he was physically blinded that day, but spiritually his eyes were open. It took the Holy Spirit to open those eyes.
