Good morning, friends. Welcome to There's No Place Like Home. May 22nd marked the anniversary of my father's passing. That was in 2002, so it's been 17 years. Sometimes it's hard to believe how fast the time has gone and we all at this church and ministry very much miss my father. So it's good to remember and think back on stories and events. I just wanted to share three things that I remember about my father, especially as it relates to education. And these are not in any particular order, but the first one was his encouragement to keep on keeping on. And when he would speak to homeschoolers, that was the frequent message, the encouragement that he would give. You have this responsibility. What do you have to do? You have to keep on. You have to keep on keeping on. And that's not just the power of positive thinking. It's not just psychological mumbo jumbo. The Lord has given you a duty. If you have a responsibility before the Lord, then what do you need to do? You need to continue to persevere. And so, friends, let's keep on keeping on. Now, related to this closely is the fact that parents have been given the authority for their children's education. and that they can do it. My father was a strong believer that parents, not only did they have the authority, but they could do it. And he didn't need to do a bunch of studies and surveys. If God's Word gives this authority to parents, which it does, then parents can do what God's Word calls them to do. Now, it's maybe not going to look identical for every family. There are different means to accomplishing the end that scripture gives to us. But the simplicity of the fact that if God gives authority to parents for the education of their children, then it follows that parents can fulfill this. If they are committed, if in prayer, if in faith, they look to the Lord, then they can fulfill the duty that God has given to them. And third is the rich promise of Romans 8.28. When we chose to put a verse on my father's headstone, Romans 8.28 was that verse. He believed in that promise. And we know that God works all things together for good, to them that love God, to those that are called according to His purpose. And His life, I believe, was a testimony to that promise. The Lord took Him earlier than any of us wanted, any of us really expected. And now, for those that remain, we have to believe that God is at work. We don't always see how that is true. You know, Romans 8, 28 is a wonderful promise, but it has to be received in faith, meaning we don't always recognize how God is working things for our good. We may never know in certain situations when there's the death of a loved one, when there's a tragic situation, you say, Lord, what is the good that is coming from that? Well, we have to believe As God has promised, he will fulfill. And so we receive that promise in faith. So friends, I encourage you as you finish off this school year, persevere for the glory of God. Keep on keeping on. For Christian Liberty Academy School System, I am Pastor Calvin Lindstrom. We'll see you next week, Lord willing, at this time. May God bless.
