Wretched Radio begins in three, two, one. God gave me a Ferrari because I am a Ferrari. You're a Ferrari, too. When God made you, he had all the options put on. You are fully loaded and totally equipped. So do this with me. Where did we ever come up with the style of preaching we have today? There is some entertaining preaching, but not convicting preaching, and the legacy has been tragic. It's time for Wretched Radio with Todd Freel. This should not come as a surprise to you. But Peter was right. This is Wretched Radio, the New Testament book called First Peter, providentially named because the fellow who wrote it was Peter, and he wrote it first before he wrote Second Peter. The subject, persecution. His peculiar persecution perspective and advice to Christians, nay, commands to Christians, when you are being persecuted, be holy. When you are being persecuted, submit. When you are being persecuted, love. When you are being persecuted by an unsaved spouse, submit. When you are living in a culture that hates Christians, you will respond in such a way that it causes the world to go, all right, what is the deal with you? and they get saved. That is how you and I are supposed to be responding to persecution. And this will be a sneak peek of what I will be talking about in Billings, Montana this weekend if you are going to be there. First Peter gives us some peculiar persecution commands. And they're not what I would anticipate. When you're being persecuted, he makes it very clear, be holy. And the reason is because people will see your response and go, these people are unbelieving. What's the deal? Who is their God? I would like to know. And if you did not think that that was good advice or wanted to come up with some exceptions for his commands, consider, please, the tragic story of what just happened in Charleston, South Carolina. A young man, Dylan Roof, went to a Bible study for an hour, and then opened up a firearm, killing pastor, parishioners, nine people, riddling them with bullets. Undoubtedly, you've seen the stories. It's as tragic as it could be, and yet, and yet, in that persecution, in that suffering, we see first Peter in action. Let us start by listening to the survivors of the victims. And this is, believe me, this is just heart-wrenching to listen to this. But this is not where it ends. Because I think what you're going to hear is the response to people hearing this, seeing this, is first Peter in action. And this should be every little bit of affirmation we need to adhere and submit to the commands of peter and first peter as persecution is coming to the american christian church you are representing the family of atholans is that correct? and you are whom ma'am? your daughter i'm listening and now at the request of the judge this mother one of the people who has been forever, ever devastated by the shooting of her daughter, forever changed, I should say, life altered forever, is now going to speak to the young man who killed her daughter. You can talk to me. I just want everybody to know, to you, I forgive you. You took something really precious of me from me. I would never talk to her. ever again. I would never be able to hold her again. But I forgive you. And have mercy on your soul. You've hurt me. You've hurt a lot of people. But God forgive you. And I forgive you. Thank you, ma'am. And I appreciate you being here. Representative of the family of Myra Thompson. Sir, would you like to make a statement before this court? Please come forward. Your name, sir? Anthony Thompson. Mr. Thompson. I would just like him to know that. Speak up for me. I can barely hear you. You're saying the same thing I was just saying. You know, I forgive you and my family forgive you. But we would like you to take this opportunity to repent. Repent. confess, give your life to the one who matters the most, Christ, so that He can change it, can change your ways no matter what happens to you, and you'll be okay. Do that, and you'll be better off than what you are right now. Thank you, sir. Tyjuan Sanders, your name, ma'am? Felicia Sanders. Thank you, Ms. Sanders, for being here. We welcome you Wednesday night in our Bible study with open arms. You have killed some of the most beautifulest people that I know. Every fiber in my body hurts. And I'll never be the same. Tawanza Sanders is my son, but Tawanza was my hero. Tawanza was my hero. But as we say in Bible study, we enjoyed you, but may God have mercy on you. They forgave him. One woman who said, I struggle, I'm a human being, and I still have anger, but I forgive you. Wow. Bless those who persecute you. These people were shot down in cold blood, and the relatives were able to say, I forgive you. And it is causing the world to react exactly the way that Peter said they would. All right, what's the deal here? What is going on here? Let me share with you a reporter from MSNBC standing outside of the church as he's supposed to be giving a live report and he's hearing the congregation sing while the young man is going through the legal process. They're praising God. I've been hearing emotional testimony from the family, but can we look over here right now? I mean, it's kind of heartbreaking. They're singing and a whole A flood of people showed up. At the same time, this arraignment was taking place. So you're hearing from the family. And then this whole group of people showed up. And they're singing a gospel song. And you heard from the family members of those who were lost. And I apologize. But you can see the outpouring of support for this community. It goes all the way down the street of people that showed up at the exact same time that this arraignment was going on. And we heard from the family members of Ethel Lance, from Myra Thompson, Daniel Simmons, Ty Sanders. I'm sorry. It's just so incredibly emotional, not only on the part of the family members, but on the part of the judge. We heard from these family members talk about how they forgive him. Numerous family members said they forgive him. One woman says, we welcomed you inside this church behind us. We welcomed you with open arms. Now every fiber in my body is hurting. I just want to mention quickly what the judge said, because it was unusual for him to take it. And on and on he goes. He had to take it away from the reporter because the guy couldn't control himself. Now, I don't know if the guy's a believer. I suspect he's not. After all, he's a reporter on MSNBC. But that isn't definitive how he was moved. Because he's hearing a gospel song while the murderer of beloved family members and church members is going through his arraignment hearing. Now that is exactly what Peter said should happen. When you're getting persecuted, you love, you're holy, you don't retaliate, you don't act like a meddler, you don't whine, might I add. And the world is going to go, all right, got it. What's the deal? What is the deal with this? He isn't the only reporter from a cable news network. Greg Gutfeld, his profession of faith, he doesn't have one. Best I can tell, I've never heard one. He'll talk about good things, bad things, but he certainly never talked about being a Christian, and this would demonstrate he doesn't understand what Christianity is. That might have been the most powerful expression of any human emotion I've ever seen in my life. And I witnessed unmitigated, pure evil. And that, to me, is like the best example of what is good that I've ever seen in my life. And I am not religious. But I see this and I can't begin to understand, like, does religion make great people or do great people go to religion? I don't know. All I know is what I saw. I can't even understand. I can't even comprehend that. It's so beyond me and so amazing. I'm gobsmacked. Mm hmm. Just like first, Peter says. People are gobsmacked when they see Christians react like that. If this doesn't encourage us to reconsider our engagement in culture at this moment, I don't know what will. I don't know. If that does not, if that does not persuade, first of all, the word should persuade, but if that does not just show you that the world will wonder, what is the deal with you Christians, forgiving people who kill your loved ones? What is up with you? It moved Greg Gutfeld, hardly a professor of the faith. Sort of wondering, just wondering, if over the last 40 years, the evangelical church has acted like Thomas Jefferson and basically cut out the pages of 1 Peter and said, no, no, no, no, no. What we're gonna do is we're gonna fix this culture. We're going to make this culture a better place. We are going to make sure that people are behaving with Christian values even though they're not Christians. and this what we are seeing happen in the fact of this this is just now if greg gutfeld gobsmacked if mister msnbc reporter is moved to the point where he can even keep it together knowing these that he's on national tv maybe in front of an audience that's in the triple digits on msnbc maybe he can keep it together How many other people are looking at this? How many people might get saved from this? Greg Gutfeld might get saved from this. Because you can't deny that. You can't deny the power behind that. You can't look at that and mock that. I don't think the most jaded... I would love to hear Bill Maher take a crack at that. I don't, he wouldn't dare. Not even Bill Maher would be cold enough to offer up those sort of chilly sentiments. Can you imagine him on his little HBO show? Yeah, now watch, watch, watch the Christians, they're singing their little gospel songs. Now that their loved ones are murdered, they're singing their gospel. Couldn't do it. Couldn't do it. Even somebody like Bill Nye would have to go, I don't know science, but I definitely don't know what's going on there. That's too big for me. That's touching. And indeed it is. Indeed it is. As we start to head into this continued season, the question is not, are we going to be persecuted? It's just happening. It's starting to happen. uh... are are we getting the bottom of our feet beat with a cane not yet but getting your big getting your business shut down getting fired getting fined they that that's it's it's the beginning this isn't stopping i i you know i've been this is real and i were just talking about this last night maybe was this morning kind of lost track of time i'm still a little jet laggy from denver We were talking about schools, how on Christian schools, or I'm sorry, on government schools, the Christian organizations, half, they have to allow atheists to be in their leadership teams. You go, what? What? And we could be inclined to respond and say, okay, great, okay, so how's about some Christians become leaders of the atheist organization? How would you like that? Okay, well, uh... i'm not i'm not sure that's the response that is as powerful as what we're seeing going on in charleston that's not going to stop there now the only reason they're starting with christian organizations on university campuses is because they're christian organizations on secular university campuses and they can it that's that's easier than going to a church which isn't owned by the government and saying you've got to marry gay people, or you've got to have unbelievers in leadership. But that'll come. That'll come. And if not, you're going to have to stop. And you say, those types of things can't happen. Those types of things happen all the time, even among people who are professing believers. Consider what the Anglicans even did to the dissenters. Consider what happened to John Bunyan. Consider our own church history. that can happen. Nothing has changed. Total depravity is still total depravity, and this is most likely where it's going to move, and we churches are going to have to start dealing with stuff, and our legal defenses will go away, and then we could very easily return to something that we never imagined could happen. Church, are you ready to respond the way that we just heard the people in Charleston respond? Because that's the biblical response. This is Wretched Radio. Here at Wretched, our goal, our desire, is to proclaim the gospel to as many people as possible in a clear, concise, and accurate way. The Biggest Project is our ongoing campaign to do that, to distribute the Biggest Question DVDs through local churches. Hundreds of volunteers are ready to distribute the gospel if you can help us financially provide the Biggest Question DVDs. Any help? Go to wretchedradio.com for all the details. And thank you for helping us reach more people with the amazing gospel. Some say that it would never happen, but Umid Gojayev was granted early release after serving nearly three years in a prison labor camp in Turkmenistan. In April 2012, Umid was sentenced to serve four years in prison over an altercation and was treated harshly by authorities because of his Christian faith. Though Umid's neighbor accepted his apology and withdrew the complaint, investigators still arrested Umid and pursued prosecution when they learned of his Christian beliefs. He was sentenced to four years in prison. Every year, country leaders pardon prisoners with similar convictions, but Umid was told not to expect this because he reads the Bible. His early release came as a welcome surprise, and he's now home with his family. Learn what Christians in Turkmenistan and other hostile nations around the world go through for Christ daily. Daddy will not give me what I want in this moment. I want McDonald's ice cream. And again, I don't want to put barrenness on that level, but there is an analogy here. And here's the thing that I want my children to do. From a father's perspective, I want my children to trust me. I want them to know that I am working on their behalf because I am. And we have to do that with God, even though we're not getting some very good desires. You can get Drive-By Marriage and all of our Drive-By resources at wretchedradio.com. Titles of Christ In the Bible, Jesus is given many titles that teach us about who He is and what He has done. Jesus is called Our Sanctuary. Through Christ, we find refuge from God's justice and find a safe haven where we can enter into the presence of the Holy God. This is Wretched Radio with Todd Freel. I don't care if this is fatherhood or not. I don't know if you're familiar with Ray Ortlund Sr., pastor for many, many years, beloved at Lake Avenue Congregational Church in Pasadena. This is, I think he was an author, local pastor, who I think influenced a lot of people. Now maybe you know his son, Ray Ortland Jr. He is the author of this article called, 10 Unforgettable Lessons on Fatherhood. And I just thought this was awfully sweet and wanted to share it with you so that you feel as convicted as I do. Wow, apparently Ray Ortland Sr. was a good dad by comparison. Some things, Pop, that maybe you and I can learn. Ray Artland Sr. was never too busy. I found this really quite, quite sweet. My dad was a busy pastor, but never too busy for me. When he felt he hadn't had enough time with me, he'd say, hey bud, want to skip school tomorrow and go down to the beach? That's great. because this is a dad who realized sometimes there are some things that are more important than learning your ABCs. Now, I'm not talking about becoming the bohemian parent. That's what homeschooling is for. Sorry, that was a bit of a cheap shot. Well, there are some homeschoolers that you kind of wonder, do you guys ever study anything besides the inside of your eyelids and napping in the afternoon? Just saying, there are some homeschoolers that use it as cover, look at that, we've got a theme, as cover for not doing very much. That's not what's being described here, just recognizing maybe a relationship, okay, in the scheme of things, let me just add, in the scheme of things, let's use the tenure perspective, or let's use the deathbed perspective. You're on your deathbed. You're looking back over your life. And let's say you had some years where you're looking back, or some days even, when you had a strained relationship with your spouse or with your child. Let's stay with child. And over the years, the strain increased. And maybe just typical stuff, typical even Christian family stuff. And you're just thinking about life as you are lying in your deathbed thinking, I wish that I had done some things better. Don't you think that you would wish that rather than having any sort of coldness happen, continue even for a day, or to strengthen a relationship that it would have been better for your child to miss a day of school, and for perhaps you to miss a day of work, to shore up a relationship that just maybe needs a little help at the time? I'll bet you would. I think this is great. I'm not saying be yanking your kid out of school because the new Jurassic Park movie is out, which by the way, half a billion, half a billion dollars. And you know what else they discovered with Jurassic Park? Christians can be very excited about this dinosaur movie because we apparently have discovered our new evangelical Christian celebrity, which is Chris Pratt. Hey, I genuinely hope the young man is saved. I truly do. But hey, hey, hey, evangelicals, can we slow our roll on just propping him up like, ah, ah, look. That's an easy answer. Of course not. What are you thinking? there's just so many Jesus won't be cool for several days then to do pratfalls no pitfalls that would be we were talking about brad pitt that would be pitfalls this would be a pratfall we could be in for one if we don't just slow down i hope the kid is saved i do but you know his theology do you know what church he attends do you know what he believes have you heard his testimony mean either so before we lift him up set this guy up and then have to kind of blush later Let's just slow our roll. I really do. I don't have anything. I don't even know who the guy is. All I know is he's in the movie and had made a half a billion dollars. Let's not rush as if we need some sort of affirmation for our faith. Hey, the Hollywood hottie is saved, so it's cool to be a Christian. By the way, I read one of those articles. Not only it listed all of the Christians, the cool Christians in Hollywood these days, Gwen Stefani. She's Roman Catholic. They listed, oh, imagine what kind of he was put on there that apparently he's attending. I didn't check out the church because I would have to be more interested. The church in California attends some church. Maybe it's in Texas. I don't know anything about it. I hope he's safe too. I really do. But it listed a lot of people as if to go, see, see, see. There can be cool people who love Jesus. I don't care if there are any cool people who love Jesus. That's irrelevant and I don't need anybody's testimony or stamp of approval on Jesus for me to follow him. So let's just, whoa, whoa, with the celebrity endorsement. Whoa, by the way, I think that's one of the chapters of my book that I better get to pretty quick. Whoa, the celebrity endorsement. That's the chapter, yeah. Whoa, Wilbur. That's what I'll title the chapter. Whoa, Wilbur. Let's slow our roll on the celebrity endorsement. We don't need them. We do this all the time. What was the young man from three men, two and a half men? Angus Jones. Angus Jones. What did he turn out to be? SDA or something affiliated with them. yeah and and we just went oh well like we need angus jones in order to be a proud professor of jesus christ whoa my dad was a busy pastor but when he felt he hadn't had enough time with me he'd say hey bud want to skip school tomorrow and go down to the beach It didn't take me long to agree to that, so off he went. We surfed and talked and had fun together. The next day, he'd write a note to the school to explain my absence. And when I took it to the principal's office, they always marked my absence unexcused. I guess that reason didn't count with them, a father wanting to catch up with his son. But Dad didn't care. I mattered to him. And I knew it. That's a good word right there. Number two, he was a Bible man. Ray Ortland Sr. was wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus. On my 17th birthday, he and my mom gave me a new Bible. Now, this was in 1966, so it wasn't a very good Bible. It wasn't a John MacArthur study Bible, but just the same. In the front, he wrote the following. Bud. I love that. Nothing could be greater than to have a son, a son who loves the Lord and walks with him. Your mother and I have found this book our dearest treasure. We give it to you, and doing so can give nothing greater. Be a student of the Bible, and your life will be full of blessing. We love you, Dad. 9-7-1966, Philippians 1-6. What's Philippians 1-6? Anybody got that memorized? Number three, Ray Ortlund Sr. praised God. As a kid growing up, I didn't need an alarm clock most mornings. I woke up to the sound of my dad singing in the shower down the hallway. Every morning he sang heartily and cheerfully this hymn, when morning gilds the skies, my heart awakening cries, may Jesus Christ be praised, alike at work or prayer to Jesus I repair, may Jesus Christ be praised. Number four, he cheered me on. He was for me. That's a great word too. If God is for us, who can be against us? Do your kids know that you are for them? By the way, it just dawned on me because Joey just whispered it in my ear. He who began a good work and he was faithful and completed it until the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. I think that's pretty close. Philippians 1.6. Could have been a lot worse. Could have been I can do all things through Christ. Number five. Ray Ortlund Sr. had a real walk with God. I remember going downstairs early one morning and walking into my dad in the living room. There he was on his knees, his face buried in his hands, absorbed in silent prayer. He didn't know anyone else was up. It wasn't for show. It was real. My dad had a real walk with God. So it never occurred to me to wonder if Jesus was the Lord of his heart and of our home. Dad loved the gospel. He served the church. He witnessed to our neighbors. Beautiful. He set the tone of our home, and our home was a place of joy, honesty, and comfort. Jesus was there. How are you feeling, Dad? Number six, he taught me theology in the backyard, coming and going. Seven, he loved us when it wasn't easy. My mom told me once that dad had a practice as he came home at the end of each day. He worked hard throughout the day, and when he came home tired, he would walk up the back steps, and before he reached to open the back door, he would lift a simple prayer to God, Lord, I need some extra energy right now. I never saw my dad walk in with no positive emotion to give. Instead, he'd walk over to my mom, kiss her with a huge kiss, and then turn to me and say, come on, Skip, let's wrestle. So apparently Skip and Bud is what we've learned about Ray Artland Jr. He helped me love the church. Be careful, mom and dad. Don't let your kids hear you say nothing but crabby things about your church. They won't love it. Number nine, he lived his faith simply and practically. And finally, number 10, he told me ministry isn't everything. Early on Sunday, July 22, 2007, my dad woke up in his hospital room in Newport Beach. He knew it was his final day of release from this life. So he had the nurse call the family in. My wife, Janie, and I were far away in Ireland for ministry that day. We didn't know what was happening back home, but the family gathered at Dad's bedside. They read scripture. They sang hymns. Dad spoke a word of patriarchal blessing and admonition to each one, a message suited to encourage and guide. He pronounced over all of them the blessing of Aaron. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. And then quietly he fell asleep. Later, I asked my sister about Dad's message to me. it was this tell bud ministry isn't everything Jesus is that's a good dad It's funny how sometimes an article, a sermon, a story that doesn't overtly try to convict you just does. Hey dad, why don't you take this and just use this as an opportunity for you to do some accounting. I'll take stock at my house, you take a look at how you're doing, and then maybe apply some of these things. Now, you probably don't want to be in the living room, hear somebody coming downstairs and then fall to your face and pretend to be praying even though you weren't just so they can bump into you. The point is, make sure that your kids see your faith being active. Make sure that you're not dissing the church. Make sure that they know you love them and are for them. And that they see that you actually love Jesus because of the way you live it. Ray Ortlund Sr. certainly did. Ray jr. You're a blessed man. Do you remember how you misbehaved as a child when you knew your parents weren't around? You probably never would have acted up had they been present. That's because their presence represented the threat of punishment, so it was a powerful deterrent. Unlike your parents, there's never a moment when God isn't around. He sees where you go, sees what you do, sees every detail of your life, even knows your thoughts, and there's nowhere you can hide from Him. The Bible says God will bring every act to judgment, everything it says which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. So you have to ask yourself, is there anything in your life that you would be ashamed about? If so, repent, because God knows. Learn to live in the light of His presence, and you'll be a powerful portrait of grace. Pornography, easy to find, easy to start, hard to quit. This is Arta Xerdea. My dear friends, you have wronged God infinitely far greater and on infinitely more occasions than anyone could have or ever will offend or wrong you. To be as base about it as I can be, When you sin against me, you sin against another sinner. When you sin against God, you sin against holiness itself. My law hasn't been transgressed. You've not fallen short of my glory. I'm not the righteous judge. Your debt to God is infinitely greater than any other person's debt could ever be to you. And when it was in His power to treat you as your sins deserved, to punish you eternally, He punished His Son in your place and forgave you a debt far greater than any debt you will ever be called to forgive. Now, beloved, this is what Christian love is like. No parent really wants their sons living in the basement until they're 32. And the Bible encourages young men to rush to adulthood. Books of the Bible God told Hosea the prophet to marry a prostitute to illustrate Israel's unfaithfulness to God and God's faithful love for Israel. When Hosea's wife returned to prostitution and was enslaved, he bought her back and loved her. When you are mistreated and abandoned, remember that is how you treated God. But if you turn to God, he will forgive you. This is Wretched Radio with Todd Friel. This could, mark my words, this could be... good, which infers that it might not be. This is Wretched Radio. Todd? Oh, we learned that a long time ago. Not sure, but we might actually have the James White appearance on the Dr. Drew program any moment, and we'll give that a listen together. James White trying to bring a little bit more depth to the public conversation than just, you just hate gay people. Wouldn't it be nice to hear something a little bit more profound than that, yeah, me too. So we'll hear how Dr. James White did, maybe. If not, there's no guarantees for what you're about to hear. It was Galatians 328, by the way. Wait a minute, there were guarantees for some of what we heard? No, there's, I'm just saying, there's just, if we get the James White stuff, it's gonna be good. If we just have to, the other stuff, yeah, no guarantees. That's all I'm saying here. Hey, guess what we got? What do we got? We got the James White stuff right here. Good on us. Let's give this a go. This is James White appearing on the Dr. Drew, wait a second, hold on. Hold on one... Okay, we can do this. We can make it. Todd, zip it and play it. A pastor in Arizona tells his congregation at Faithful Word Baptist Church he hopes Caitlyn Jenner quote dies and goes to hell. Oh no, he's not gonna play that guy. Really, Drew? You know, this week, this filthy sodomite picture is everywhere and people are showing this transvestite or transgender or whatever this guy is. Okay, okay, okay. Let me just jump in before Dr. Drew because he won't have an interest in this. This pastor, I think I know who this guy is. He hates pretty much everybody. Does this sound like truth and love to you? When you hear the admonition to speak truth in love, this is not it. Bruce Jenner! has basically mutilated his body, apparently. And I mean, this filthy pervert is just like on all these magazine covers and just everywhere. Literally hundreds of millions of people are being subjected to looking at a trans freak. I have no love, no love for this Bruce freak. I hope he dies today. I hope he dies and goes to hell. He's disgusting. He's filthy. He's reprobate. But yet today people think I'm crazy. Yup. I've got different words. So that's how Dr. Drew sets up Dr. James White. It's unfortunate that Steven Anderson's even getting the press time that he's getting because that's why he does what he does. Believe me, he's preached more sermons against me personally than everybody else combined. So unfortunately, in Phoenix, we know a lot about this fellow. But unfortunately, that also distracts from the real discussion. And that is, when we're talking about what's happened in regards to the generous situation, Are we talking about something that is good for him and his family and his grandchildren? Or is there something that could have been better? Unfortunately, that distracts from it. And he's right about that. All kinds of angles here. Let's get down to something meatier. What could have been better? Well, I'm a grandfather like he is. And I cannot imagine changing the relationship that I have with my wife, with my children, with my grandchildren, in doing what he did. I wish he could have found someone who could have encouraged him to see that there was a purpose in the way that from a Christian worldview, a believing Christian worldview, not the Steven Anderson worldview, that he was created by God for a purpose and that he could find that purpose if he would but pursue it and get the help to do so from the believing community. Sure, I'm glad that he made that distinction. That was worthwhile. Well done, James. James, you became upset last time you were on the show with us, and you responded on YouTube to us. We're going to take a look at that. I've not seen it yet. Bruce Jenner is not a woman. My wife is a woman. Bruce Jenner will never be what my wife has been her entire life. And I am offended that anyone would compare him to her. It's not just homosexuals or people who mutilate their bodies, pretend to be a gender they're not, or whatever else it is. It's all of us. Every single one of us abide under the wrath of God. That's what Jesus said. You simply have to say, I don't like Jesus. okay these those were the clips that drew picked out but based on the editing that they did with the stephen anderson that was a minute eleven seconds i was too long uh... i guess i can just tell you the editing process james white i believe in response to the last time he was on the doctor drew program i think he spent is either two or four hours that's the clip that they picked james why does god care why does god care what it was in his No, but I mean, if these people are happy and not hurting anybody and maybe living a productive life, you know... God cares about every one of us. He made us for His glory and He gave us direction in Jesus Christ as to how we're to live. So, He cares so much that He actually came into His own creation as in the person of Jesus Christ. But why does He care about transgenders? Not always care about humans. Why well because and Jesus is teaching the gift of maleness and femaleness is just that it's a good gift from God and it's central to the Aspect of how we are to relate to one another how we are to have children the foundation so give the society hmm Well at least you got some stuff in yeah, I'm not a ton, but better people that are Ambiguous genitalia or xxy or xyy genetically those are not God's you brought you brought that up, okay? Here we go. We'll hear what she has to say you know I there are this it's the that's a radical exception We don't make rules based on a few exceptions last time and yet no one that we're talking about is that no, but I wonder what? We live in a fallen world, and there are obviously situations, very small number, and we are to stand with those people. But that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about actually saying that we as individuals can, in our minds, determine what reality is going to be, even when that is against the reality that we see around us. We see it in the news right now with the transracial stuff. It's the same, it's the same thing. Does man have the right to make that kind of change? That's, now we're getting warm to something. Now, I sure do appreciate the way James put that. Just shut it down. And that was a good lesson in debate. When somebody brings up a radical emotional exception to a rule, we're not talking about that. We're not talking about those people. Let's get back to the subject. People that are ambiguous genitalia or XXY or XYY genetically. Don't let them do that. So, Dr. Drew, have you studied the issue? Do you know how many people? Is Bruce Jenner that? Is any of these people that we're talking about that? No? Then why'd you bring it up? and put the burden back on them. I thought James did that quite handily. Do you have the right to tell people that they're not deserving of God? The question would be, does God have the right to determine what he is good? But I'm asking you. Well, I'm not taking the place of God, ma'am. I'm simply saying, if God has spoken with clarity, then we need to listen to what he has said. You're shifting that over to me. My question is, what do you do with somebody who is suffering inside? What do you do with someone like that that comes to you and says, you know what? I don't feel good about myself right now. I don't feel safe with myself. What do you do? You introduce them to what the scriptures say they have been called to be, and you then tell them the Spirit of God will assist a person who desires to do God's will to accomplish that. Wait, wait, hey! That's what the doggers told their son, by the way. Oh, great. Ah, that's just so frustrating. That's so low, honestly. That's just a good one, Drew. Good. That's a good one there. That's an emotional zing, zing, although it didn't actually make sense to me. That was a great response, too, from James. What do we do? So what about those people? Well, I would be inclined to ask this question. This kid. This kid who just shot down nine people in South Carolina. That's how he felt on the inside. Why don't you affirm that? See, the question isn't, what do I feel? The question is, what is right, what is wrong, and who gets to determine what that is? Do we as a culture, or does God? That's our bottom line right now. Now, thankfully, we're there. It's unfortunate it had to get to this because we haven't been there typically as the church, but now we are. The question is, who gets to decide right and wrong? That is what this is boiling down to. but also i i'm curious i'm curious if if uh... you know and i i'm asking at a general curiosity if if christ could live exists as the father son and the holy spirit why couldn't a good child of god exist as a man or a woman to don't seem to understand christian teaching cuz i don't know i don't think the christ is a father son holy spirit is only the son he's not the father nor the spirit but but but christianly can exist in in the form at to which you find him to be not active in america rail but some people's new jesus paintings i've seen of You know what? I love what James just said. You don't understand Christianity. What is this guy doing asking anything about this? If this worked, which you were suggesting, just like with the Duggars, if that worked, great, good for them. It doesn't work. We know that as clinicians. That's why doctors are participating in this. But Dr. Drew, it was fascinating that you were the one in the last program we did constantly bringing up the number of suicides. do you have a place after that yes which is an issue that has to be brought up and secondly when we talk about loving from the christian perspective the first person to love is gone and then we're to allow that reflection to the identified and we are and how we are to be loving in his sight not well done to you know he's doing a very good job in this not only that he's keeping his composure really really well not anxious not shot but they waited Not playing that game. Can I address the issue of happiness for a moment, please? See, from the Christian worldview, happiness is not the first thing we pursue. I can guarantee you nobody in those landing crafts on D-Day were happy. That's right. But they were doing what was right and necessary. Right analogy. Well, that is a... Well, that is a... Be careful. Well, unless you want to be speaking German today, what they were doing was pretty important. Right, because the Germans felt the same way, you know what I'm saying? Oh, this is so hard to listen to! The Nazis felt guided by God as well. The point is, the character, integrity... That's what we pursue. Not just what makes us happy. The issue is not happiness, it's holiness. You know what, right now I am staring in my monitor at James White's bald head appearing on the Dr. Drew program. And the most amazing part, the most amazing aspect of that entire interview is that in this image of Dr. James White's bald head, there isn't a crack. Because right now my head would just be going... Why am I talking to you? This is so ridiculous. Nice job, James. Very nice job. We've got to bring this back to an authority issue. We certainly do. Now, James White, I thought, did that quite handily. Bring it back. Who decides these things? And that is why this Rachel Dolezal story to me is still one of the most helpful things that Christians have available to us right now. Don't forget that name, Rachel Dolezal. She was born a white woman to white parents. who identifies as black although she doesn't have black skin she doesn't have black pigmentation she doesn't really have black hair or any of the characteristics of african-american people and yet She thinks she's a black person. And I think I'm a billionaire. I'm going to go spend all my money. You'd go, cuckoo, cuckoo. You need a little help there, Pally. Exactly. Because somebody who is what they are can't identify as something that they're not. And the same thing is true for Bruce Jenner. He might feel like a woman, but his feelings are wrong. Dr. Drew, here's a question for you. Have your feelings ever been wrong? Did you ever feel like this was the right thing to do, and then you discovered truth, and it wasn't? And your feelings were deceiving? See, that's what the Bible says, that the heart is deceitful and wicked above all things. Who can know it? And we need a plumb line. We need a guide. And we've got one. It's called the Bible. And we as a culture, historically, have decided, for the most part, we're going to give it a go. Well, now you're saying no. So that's where we're at right now. We are in a culture that is saying we are going to either listen to what God says through his word or we're not. So why don't we just talk about that? So now I've got some questions for you, Dr. Drew. Why do you reject God's word? Let's bring this, there is a way to turn this around. Now, James White did what he could, considering the time allotment and where they had him thrown into the audience. You got the guy, well, Jesus can appear as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit whenever he want. Okay, only if you're a modalist. And even that isn't quite right. The guy doesn't have a clue, and yet he's the expert. And then they throw Dr. James White, who's brilliant, out into Schlubville, because it's like, well, we don't want him to be given the same sort of status as the other guests. So he did what he could do. We need to bring it back and even turn it around to say, so that's the issue. We've boiled it down to what the issue is. So why don't you tell me why you hate God and reject him so much? And then we can turn this preposterous conversation into something important. Soul winning. Until tomorrow, go serve your king.
